I really like the second layout that you did but I do think the banner picture is a bit too bright to match the backgrounds you've chosen. Maybe if the picture was a bit duller, like this, it might fit better?

I have an idea on how to start my chapter so I could post first if that's okay? And I'm going to start it off at school, maybe and aim for a 1000 word count

Also I'm guessing that our first chapters are just about how our character got into the band through our own character's point of view? =]

But if it's set in the UK we don't have seniors?? The final year of mandatory high school is age 16/year 11, with the final year of higher education (sixth form/college) is age 18/year 13.

Hmmm, I'd prefer them to be 17-18, that way they have more choices, ya know? So what should I do? :O How would the school system work then?

Edit: So that works, here in New Zealand we have Year 13, (17 and 18 year olds) and we call them seniors, is that different in the UK? They aren't called seniors there?

17-18 year odd would just be Year 13 or even Upper Sixth. But most teachers would be like "You're Year 13, stop being so immature." So they would be in their second year of sixth form where they would be doing their A-Levels. Unless they're super smart, most people only take three A-Level classes. In AS year, which was the previous year, they would typically take four subjects and depending on the course specification and exam board, have exams in January as well as May/June (but not all in January). After exams they would start their A-level specification until school broke up in July. Results would come out in August and when they come back in September they would typically drop the subject they did the worst in even though they can resist exams. The subjects taken in AS year reflect what type of university degree they want to do, so someone who wants to do Medicine would have checked out the degree they want to do and take whichever science they need as a requirement.

A-Level classes for me were very heavy, especially in English Literature, but teachers are far more friendly and are likely to have more of a laugh, especially when studying seduction and sexpoems. With only three subjects, I had quite a few free periods and most lessons were doubl period. So that would mean a lot of time for our characters to have free (typically meant to be used for homework and studying) to socialise and spend with the band provided they had the same frees.

If I didn't cover everything, let me know. It's difficult to type a lot when my phone hates Mibba.

Anyway... wouldn't it be quite boring and repetitive if we keep doing about how each character gets into the band for four chapters straight? Like... I think it's better if like maybe Jordy covers about how her character gets into the band and then like the rest of us continues the story from then on and then maybe squeeze in a bit of information about how they come to be in the band without it being information dumping? I'm not sure I'm explaining this right.

And Ali is supposed to be the last one to be in the band, right? So when she gets in, everyone's already in the band although they still haven't gotten along at all.

And I think 17-18 sounds good. Not too young and not too old.

That sounds perfect! I'll have to rewrite some parts though xD

I agree. First chapter should be the band forming or the teacher trying to get it to form but people not very willing. Then it should go from there, with their lives, arguments, bickering and all that happening.

I guess the school'll be made up, yeah. I went to a school in Wales and we did not have a school committee (unless you mean PTA or the student council??) but how would it be relevant? Like, the student council did nothing in my school so I honestly have no idea.

Also, I figured maybe we should work out whether any are in the same classes? Because they'll have three subjects (unless someone's character is super smart and has four??) and some high demand subjects (like Biology in my school) had two different classes but it was normally just one class for each subject.

ALSO, did we figure out when we're starting the story? Like which month. September?

Student council It would only be relevant to my character mostly but if I went by my what my school committee/council were like they pretty much organized events and clubs around school, helped students that had issues with school, did odd jobs. That means the student council would be heavily involved with clubs we could also make them the bad guys for a little while, like the principle in Lemonade Mouth, who forced the band to disband when things got out of hand.

Either that or I'd make Ali take four subjects, not because she's super smart but because she's a determined hard worker xD

Clubs in my school were run by teachers (there weren't any for sixth formers, really, only like football, netball, rugby and choir - those types of things) and we had pastoral support for issues as well as our Head of Sixth Form and Deputy Head of Sixth Form. Also it was the Head Boy and Head Girl in Sixth Form that organised a lot of stuff in my school - the week of activities for Children in Need, our Winter Ball, Summer Ball, etc. So, I guess, it would be more relevant if your character was Head Girl but she would have to be really liked in order to be voted as Head Girl as in my school they had to be nominated by someone in Year 13 and then voted by the entire of Year 12 and 13, and Head Boy and Girl could only be someone from Year 13. But four subjects would be okay, and she could have either taken five in AS year and just dropped one or only took four and not dropped any in Year 13. And the Head of Sixth Form would have had to agree.

Also, I know we were having it that a teacher kind of created the band, but it'd have to be something separate from school so I wouldn't see how they could be disband by anyone other than themselves.

I was thinking that the only obstacle for them is themselves. In my head, this story is all about fighting your own demon and overcoming your own insecurity and stuff.

Anyway, I have a question. Like... is there any sports program over there? Like... I make Joey as this jock that works hard and is really serious about his sport because he wants to get a scholarship or something right. So is there anything like that over there? And how does he get into that?
