Fate watched as Death moved around picking things up and touching them in general, mildly amused by the whole thing. "You're curious like a child," she said.

"Every one has their vices," Death muttered as he continued talk walk around, finally lifting a long staff, symbols etched into the smooth wood. With a grin he judged its weight, then began twirling it around, using a few martial arts practice moves with it.

"Hmm," fate murmured softly, otherwise falling silent as she simply watched Death as he continued. She opened her mouth as he picked up a staff, closing it as he began to twirl it around. "You might be careful with that," a male voice said as Tome entered the room again. He had an ancient-looking box in, plain but sturdy, carrying it with both hands. "Here is the dagger. I advise you keep it in its case whilst it is not being used."

Giving the staff one last twirl Death walked over, still carrying the weapon, and stared at the box, "Why?" He asked, wondering why it couldn't just... be out and about, "Is it going to start moving around outside the case?" He asked sarcastically and he reached out to open the case.

Time pulled back as Death reached out to open the box, giving him a stern look. "You cannot just open it without knowing what will happen like a child," he said exasperatedly. "And no, it doesn't move. But it hums, sort of on your mind, and the sound will drive a person mad." He turned towards Fate, offering the box. "Please be wary, dear. Especially with this one now." Time's lips took on a sardonic curl as he gently took the staff away from Death as his hands were free again. "A pleasure seeing you again, Thanatos."

Death was a bit disappointed that he couldn't open the box, but when Time pulled the staff from his grip he grinned, "As always, Old Man," He said, "It's been a real blast. We really should catch up more," He said sarcastically, "Perhaps it'll be around the end of Time itself," He said, referring to when 'Time' died and he'd have to carry his soul to the after life. Then he turned to Fate, "Alright, Blondie, lets go be heros."

Fate sighed softly, and then gave Time a grateful smile. "Thank you," she said, and not caring whether Death liked it or not, she kissed his cheek gently.

"Take care," said Time.

Then Fate turned back to Death. "Purgatory or Nature first?"

Death made retching noises, acting like he was going to lose the nonexistent food in his stomach at Fate's kiss. When he was done he shrugged, "Let's hit Purgatory first," He said softly, "That way, when we don't find the object, we won't have to spend 'social hour' with another person. I've found I've reached my quota."

Fate rolled her eyes, shaking her head at him. "You could handle meeting with Mother Nature," she reassured him. She nodded to him. "Go ahead and lead the way to Purgatory then," she said, holding the box with the dagger in both hands like Time had done.

Nodding Death turned away from Fate. With her unable to see Death took in a deep breath, preparing himself. Making the transport Death stepped through it, expecting Fate to follow. He actually hated Purgatory, hated being here. Even though it was supposed to be his home, he'd hated it since the very beginning. He was actually rarely here. With a sigh he turned to Fate, "Alright. Where to first? The dagger talking to you yet?"

Fate stepped into Purgstory after Death, shaking her head at his question. "I think we have to take it out of its case for that," she said, though she wasn't sure. She set the case on the ground, popping open the latches. The dagger was about the length of her forearm, not including the hilt, and it gleamed with runes etched into the blade. Time hadn't been lying about the hum either. It was strong, reverberating through the air nearby in an attention-capturing buzz.

Death blinked at the hum, "Uh... yeah. I can now see why it needs to stay in the case. We may need to pick up some ear plugs after a while." He sighed, "Anyway, I don't even know where to look... there really isn't a lot here in Purgatory..."

Fate considered what he said. "Well... The most reasonable place to start would be your house then, wouldn't it?" She pointed out. She closed the case again, picking it up. The him had stopped almost immediately.

Death sighed, then shrugged, "Alright, but I honestly don't know what state the place will be in." He lead her to 'his' house, a dark mansion set in the fog. It was deteriorating, needed work, but Death had honestly never really visited this place. He let Fate in, walking through the main foyer, "So... where to now?"

"Give me a moment to take the dagger out again," Fate murmured. She set the case on a table, opening it up, the humming resuming as she took the dagger in her hand. She didn't feel anything different though.... So she just started to move through rooms, paying attention for some sort of indication. "You don't come here often, do you?" She asked so the world wasn't so silent -aside from the noise from the dagger.

"Nope," Death said as he began idly picking though the things there, "I've actually only been here a handful of time." He turned to her, "Any luck yet? This place is huge... and I'd rather not have to go through every inch of it."

Fate gave him a look that could only be described as tolerant. "Do you want to hold the dagger and see if you can find it?" She asked, actually being very serious as opposed to being a smart ass. "Because I don't know what to look or feel or listen out for any more than you too."

Death rolled his eyes, walking to her and taking the dagger, "Never let a woman do a man's job," He muttered before walking from her. At first he just heard the hum, felt the slight vibration from the dagger... then everything seemed to freeze. A sensation overcame him, as if another being was taking him over. He found himself walking through the house, seeming to know exactly where to go. Eventually he made it to the attic, stopping in front of an old full body mirror.

Fate sent him a glare as he walked from her with the dagger, but she didn't complain, fully expecting him to just wander around and probably curse at the dagger. So imagine her surprise as suddenly he stopped, then started walking again, passing by doors without even glancing by them and striding as if he knew exactly where he was going. Fate followed, curious if he was just trying to fool her or if he somehow felt what she hadn't, and soon they were standing in front of an ancient mirror. Glancing at Death, the look he had was almost glazed, as if he wasn't the one there anymore, and the humming vibration from the dagger was so strong that she actually took a step away from him. "I guess we found the first object." She looked at the mirror.

It took Death a little bit to shake off the sensation of the dagger, now holding the thing at arms length with the tips of his fingers, "Please tell me you brought the case," He said, "This thing is erie," As he spoke his eyes stayed locked on the mirror, "I wonder why this is so special... It looks like any old mirror to me..."
