Death's gaze narrowed on Fate, "Like I'd ever do that. And he should worry that I'll kill him... because I will. That boy needs to learn a tough lesson. Life is hard on cowards.... and to stay away from what's mine." He said softly, quiet enough that Nature wouldn't hear.

Once everything was collected he read the instructions, then shared them with her. He watched her add the water, then mix the batter. Then he helped her pour in the chocolate - probably too much - and then set a skillet on the stove and added some butter to it, "This is so that the batter doesn't stick." He poured out some, then waited to let it cook, "Once the first side is done, then we flip it. Easy."

Fate frowned at Death. She didn't bother asking what he meant, because she already knew, but she wasn't entirely sure that she understood. "Why do you want him to stay away from me?" she asked softly, leaning close again, this time so they could talk and hear each other without Time or Nature hearing them. "I understand you wanting Chaos to keep away... you've said yourself that you're worried I'll get hurt, even though you're the only one he's been hurting. But Nature doesn't want to hurt me; he just wants a friend."

Time was surprised at how easy making pancakes actually seemed to be so far. There wasn't really anything hard. Add ingredients, mix them together, and then put it on heat so it would cook. She supposed the hard part came in making sure that she didn't undercook or overcook something... "How are you going to know how much time to wait before its done though?" she asked Nature.

Death sighed, "Yeah, and then friends ship turns into a crush - on his side, I know you'd never do that - and I don't want to actually hurt him. So I figure that, if I scare him away now... I won't have to do more later." He shrugged, "I'm just thinking of the future."

Nature lifted a section of the pancake, then set it back down again, "You look at it. You want a golden brown color. Once you see that you'll flip it. This side isn't ready yet... but it will be soon."

Fate smiled a little. "Well, it's good to know you trust me... but I don't think you actually have to worry about that," she told him, leaning forward and kissing him on the cheek. "Nature isn't going to get a crush on me; actually, he's been around us long enough to know that would be a bad idea for his health anyway. And besides, I think he might have a crush on Time."

"Hmmm... knowing my luck, I wouldn't check often enough, and it would burn," Time sighed. the pancakes were looking good so far though, even if they weren't actually done yet. She was ready to eat her breakfast.
