Do you play piano? I am teaching myself to play the piano. I can play a few nursery rhymes on the piano such as Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Row Row Row Your Boat. I can also play a few of Beethoven's symphonies. Currently I am trying to play an instrumental song with chord progressions, the melody, the beat, etc. Once I get the hang of that, I will work on putting my original song lyrics to music.

Unfortunately, no, I cannot play piano.

I've been told all my life that I have the fingers to do so and I even own a piano, but I'm clumsy and can't seem to withhold any knowledge about the piano. I definitely did not inherit the pianist talent because there's talent for the piano on both sides of my family. I actually am disappointed that I can't play because I'd love to. I admire pianists, even the casual ones. It's a beautiful instrument.

I have played piano for seven years, with lessons. My dad plays piano, my sister plays piano.

I have a love-hate relationship with my piano.

I can't play by just reading the music but I taught myself a few of Einaudi's pieces cause they're fairly easy. Took me a few good hours for each piece though, but it was 100% worth it. The piano is a gorgeous instrument and is definitely my favourite to play!! Cute

I've played for 14 years now, and it's my principal study at university. Hoping to specialise in it for an MMus as well. I can't really describe how much I love it, it's pretty much my favourite thing to do ever.

I'd love to learn contemporary pieces on the piano. Whilst I like classical music, I'd like to go no where near playing them.
I used to have lessons in primary school so I have a rough knowledge of the piano, but I'd like to improve that.

I can play piano, but not very well. I mostly do covers of songs on mine, but I'd eventually like to step it up and start learning to actually play the piano, and not just covers of songs. I think it'd be really great if I could eventually make my own compositions.

I have always adored piano music. I would love to learn to play, but I'm nineteen years old and have no idea where I would seek out lessons for someone of my age. Local classes appear to be the very basics for children. I also don't know how much use lessons would be because I don't own a piano, nor know anyone that does... but I would just really love to learn. ):

I took classes at my local junior college. I was the youngest or second youngest person in there, and the age range was like 17 - 40. Adult classes are out there, but you have to search really hard for them.
I'm not that good. I can read music, but that's mainly because I played the clarinet in middle school and never forgot the basics. But because of that, I have a really hard time with bass clef, and just end up playing everything right-handed 60% of the time.

I absolutely adore hearing others play the piano, as somebody else said I too think it's such a beautiful instrument. My problem is that I'm a bit of a snob... sure, I learned how to play the beginnings of songs and a few easy ones like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star... but I only managed to create my own short musical piece once. I taught myself on a cheap stand-up keyboard piano, and this is where my snobbery comes in... I don't like it. I dislike the feel of the keys, the lack of vibration in the keys, and the flatness in the music it creates (I want more echo and power from striking my keys). What a snob, eh?

Funny thing is, how much experience do I actually have of playing a grand piano? Very little! I remember being first introduced to piano on my gran's brother's wife's grand piano while in Guernsey. The way she and my older cousin (their daughter) could play really ignited my passion for music. I remember her teaching me on it for a short period of time, but nothing much came of it. Grand pianos are beautiful but so expensive!
