Will You Let Me In?

Emmet put his hand over hers. "You are not a challenge. You are just worth the extra mile to see you." He said and smiled. The bell rang and he groaned. "I will walk you to class." He said and smiled standing offering her his hand. Emmet really liked Hailee and he hoped that she would like him too, or that she already did.

North smiled as he talked about his music but as they said goodbye he was strange. He turned so red and she looked at him curiously. Still not enough hours for what she didn't know but she bit her lip and rubbed her arm. "Uhh right, I will see you in class leter then." She said and took off quickly blushing as she pulled her hood up. She didn't know what to think of David. She rubbed the back of her neck as she got to class. She sat down taking notes but o ly thinking about David. What had he meant by that. No one wanted to spend time with her so he couldn't mean more time with her... right?"

"Thanks." Smiling, Hailee took Emmett's hand. It was a silent walk as they headed back to class and, for once, she was okay with that. She watched him from the corner of her eye and smiled to herself. There was something about him, she just didn't get it.

David followed in North's direction, pretty slowly; he wasn't in a hurry to get to class. His mind kept wondering back to their conversation and the fact of what he'd said aloud. Wondering what she was thinking now, he slipped into the classroom and into his desk. He slumped down in his seat and reached up, absentmindedly, and tugged at his left ear.

Emmet smiles and walked her to her class. "I'll see you later alright?" He asked and kissed her ha d then walked down the hall to his class. He smiled thinking of beautiful Hailee. Emmet ran a hand through his hair sitting in class looking forward to the weekend.

Class trickled by as her mind raced. She sighed as the bell rang. She smiled standing and heading out to the class she shared with David. Should she sit next to hi,. Should they let this be a public thing. If she didn't he might get worried and therw could be a repeat of last time. She walked in sitting in her normal seat doodling in a sketch book.

"Yeah, maybe." Her hand, the one not being kissed, brushed a lock of hair behind her ear as she blushed. She slipped into her desk, silently, and pulled her books out of her bags. She glanced at the clock and let out a sigh. This class was going to go by agonizingly slow.

David dashed out of the class and headed to where he knew North would be. Smiling, he sat in the desk next to her. "Hi," he mumbled, not wanting to draw attention to them. He knew how she despised attention so he was trying to cause very little.

Emmet smiled as he sat in class writing some lyrics between doing the class assignment. He sighed thinking of how Hailee looked so beautiful. She was amazing and he wanted to spend all the time he could with her.

North smiled and looked lightly at him from the side and smiled softly. "Hi." She said back softly. North sighed as she pit her doodling pad away and pulled out her books. There seemed there was going to be a team project soon and she frowned. She hated these but maybe with David it wouldn't be so bad.

Hailee was ready for the day to be over, even if it did mean headin back to her dreadful house, but it also meant she was one step closer to being with Emmett. Her mind wandered off to what her parents make think of the boy that she was now fancying herself with. She supposed they may find him charming but without any form of riches, she doubted they would find him truely worthy enough.

Hearing there would be a group project, David looked over at North anxiously. He honestly wasn't fond of anyone but her and his sister, maybe one or two of the guys on a sports team were cool but none of them made him feel the way North did. "We're totally gonna be partners, right?" He whispered to her, sporting a cheeky grin.

Emmet was planning out the hike he would take Hailee on amd if thinhs went well he would ask her to prom too. He thought what an amazing time they would have getting to know each other and soing fun things together.

North blushed bright red. "I guess." She whispered but releived that he had asked and no one else could. But one boy from the football team in the class came up and smirked leaning onto her desk. "Hey new girl wanna be my partner?" He asked and North flinched away from him.

Hailee groaned, staring at the clock mounted on the wall. Forever and a day until school let out, it felt like. She tapped her foot on the tiled floor as she did her work. Today, she needed to attend to a dance meeting and she was pretty excited about it. It was one of the only things she was actually thankful for when it came to her parents.

"Hey dude, step off." David glared at the other boy. He was bigger than David, no doubt, but he wasn't scared. There were some advantages to being who he was, though he didn't know how well it would help him out now. "She's already got a partner." David played with his pencil idly, waiting for the other boy to say anything on the contrary.

Emmet smilled as he bell let out and he stood headed back towards Hailee's class. He smiled and walked up behind her taking her books and winking as she whipped around to see who was taking her books. Emmet smiled and walked beside her. How was class?"

North frowned. She hated violence and the sharp look the boy gave her made her flintch again. The boy smirked. "Well Blake got this one his time." He said and looked at North. "I'll catch you later." He said and winked at her then left. Nlth wimpered. "Don't fight over me like that." She said softly and laid her head down. On the desk.

"Eh, boring. As always. I'm too far ahead, honestly." She flashed a grin at him. "Besides, I can barely stand school on Thursdays. I'd much rather be at my dance class." She bit her lip gently. "In fact, we have a recital soon. Maybe you'd like to be there? And be my cheerleader?" A giggle managed to escape and she covered her mouth.

David stared at the girl, his mouth wide open, flabbergasted. "Y-You call that fighting?" He stammered out, not knowing what else to say. "That was not me fighting over you, by far. I was defending you. If you hadn't of flinched when he leered at you, I wouldn't have intervened. Trust me, I know well enough that you can defend yourself."

Emmet chuckled. "I'll come but I don't think cheering is looked well apon at such events. How about I just buy you some flowers instead?" He asked grinning. They where already acting hery much like a couple when tney hadn't even had a first date. Not that he minded. Hailee was a catch, he would be honored to have her as his girlfriend.

North frowned looking away her walls instantly claming back up. She wroye down the aginment sighing when she realized this would require out of school work, and a lot of it. She wasn't going to take him to that place she was at so they would have to go to his house. He had no idea about what she could or couldn't do. They where alllwed time to talk about their research projects, some kind of sientific discovery that changed science and then to use that to form a hypotheses to test of your own. It was a big assignment but they had a long time to do it.

"Alright that sounds lovely enough." A smile made its way across her face as she reached into her locker. Then a thought ran through her mind, "Your never late to class because of me, right? I mean.. I noticed we never stop at you locker." She gnawed at the inside of her cheek, she hated the thought that she might have gotten him in trouble.

"North, please don't be upset. I wasn't trying to make you mad at me," he said quietly as he sunk further down into his seat. He wanted to glare at the other boy, punch him, he wanted to do something but he knew North would be unforgiving of such an act, so he refrained and stayed quiet in his seat. A shaky hand raked through his dark locks and he bit his tongue in frustration.

Emmet chuckled. "Don't worry about me precious." He said and smiled knowing she would come up wih that sweet blush that made him want to kiss her cheeks. "Though I should get going." He said handing her books back to her and smiled running off. He did need to change out books for class.

North sighed. She silently flipped through he book while kids left the classkto go to the co puter lab to look up research there on what to do. North knew he didn't umderstant what he did wrong. It wasn't abot him and that boy it was that he assumed he knew anything about her or her life. He put her in a place where she would either have to meet his expectaions or she would fail. She didn't want that. She didn't want him saying she was strong when she wasn't. She felt the tears welling up and she nlimked them away quickly and pulled her sweater closer. She was upset because she already knew she failed.

Hailee stared after the boy as he ran off and shook her head. He was all over the place but she liked it; it was so much different than what she was used to. It was a silent trip back to her next class, the image of Emmett running off in the back of her mind.

David leaned up against the wall outside of the classroom, waiting for North to come out. Once she walked out, they walked towards the computer lab in silence. Every so often he would quickly glance in her direction. He knew something was wrong and he wanted to fix it, he just didn't know how. A sigh slipped from between his lips as he tucked his hands in the front pockets of his jeans.

Emmet smiled as he got to class. He was so excited to see her. Every time he did he saw her and learned something new about her. He loved the little things about her. Emmet ran a hand through his hair. She was who he wanted to be with, who he wanted to see and he wanted to hold her.

North sighed. "Stop it it's fine." She said and finally looked at him. She just wanted him to stop looking at her like a lost puppy. North sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "Let's just figure out what we should do this project on."

Hailee gnawed at her pencil and tapped her foot to a silent beat. They had a history exam coming up and she was not excited about it. She let out a frustrated sigh and wrote down some notes. She couldn't wait to get out of class, see Emmett, and then head for dance.

David bit the side of his lip and eyed her wearily. "Are you sure it's alright?" His eyes were casted downwards, trying to find all the grooves in the wooden computer table. Silently he traced his finger over a heart that had been drawn onto the table, most likely in permanant marker, wondering who the initials belonged to.

Emmet smiled as he finished up his work and turned it in writing more lyrics again as he sat there thinking of Hailee. He doodled a little and then stood as the bell rang. He smiled and headed to his locker. He put his stuff up then headed toward Hailee's locker. He wondered if she needed a ride to dance class or something.

North sighed. "It's whatever, let's just get this started then we have to figure out when your parents would be alright with me coming over to work on this. We are not going to get this all done with class time." She said and bit her lip. She sighed seeing how he looked and she didn't like it. She didn't like that she could do that to him. "You know you shouldn't let me make you feel like that. It's not right." She said never wanting to be responsable for someone else's pain because they got to close to her.

Hailee smiled as she saw Emmett approaching. "Hey!" She calling, waving enthusiastically. Her heart leaped at the sight of him and she wondered if this was what it felt like to be in love. Realizing what she had thought, she backtracked quickly. There was no way she could be in love. Not with someone she's only known for two days.

"You don't make me feel like that. I make me feel like that." He glanced up her for a split second. Looking back at the letters in the heart, he realized what two letter they were and laughed at the irony. He peeked upwards and wondered if North even noticed. "Besides, my parents won't care when you come over if its for school as long as you leave before eleven. They're crazy about making good grades and all."

Emmet smilled as he came up to her. "Hey you." He said and smorked leaning against a locker beside her. He had practice later today. "You off to dance class then? What kind of dance is it anyways?" Emmet asked. He smiled as he tucked a peice of her hair behind her ear. Emmet smiled. "So what time on satersay do you usually get up to go and due things?" He asked figuring it was early. He has hoping to not raise suspicion if ahe had a normal routine where he could pick her up. He smirked hinking how much like kidnapping it sounded like in his mind. Her parents where gonna flip.

North sighed. "You shouldn't make you feel like that." She said raising an eyebrow as he lauhhed glancing at the heart he was tracing "So for the project should we go with one of Newtons laws?" North asked. And put her hand over his trying to get his attention and make him stop with that rediculous heart. But as soon as North felt his skin on hers, she pulled back looking away a blush lighting it up. She felt so many sensations running through her.

"I will be, in a bit. I'll have to find David, he's my ride. You'd think since my parents have so much money they like to throw around, that I would have my own car but I don't." She rolled her eyes. "It's sort of an unconventional dance class. Like ballet and street dancing and other stuff just thrown in together to make something really inspiring." Her face animated while she talked about dancing; it was her favorite thing in the world to do. "On Saturdays I usually get up around seven and go for a run and attend a yoga class." Hailee twisted a strand of hair between her fingers, staring up at Emmett.

"Uh, yeah," David mumbled as she pulled her hand away from his. Seeing the blush on her cheeks caused an odd feeling inside of him, giddiness? He shook his head causing his hair to flop about. "I was listening, it's just this heart..." He pointed at the meaningless drawing. Inside the little black drawn heart contained: D + N. He looked back up at her and bit his bottom lip.
