Rosie couldn't believe how far the boys had come. She'd been there from the very beginning. She'd been there for the first band practice that 5 Seconds Of Summer ever had, and she'd been there for their first gig too. She'd been there when they were asked to open for One Direction, and then they'd done their own headlining tour in the US and Canada, and now she'd get to see them tour with One Direction for herself this time around. And she couldn't have been more proud. She was especially proud of her best friend, Luke Hemmings. They'd been best friends since primary school when Luke stood up for Rosie when the school bully, Chris Tucker, pushed her off of the swing set during recess one day. And as his best friend, the boys had left her in charge of waking him up for soundcheck that afternoon. Shaking her head as she walked past Calum and Michael doing, well she really didn't know what they were doing, and she really didn't care to find out, she headed out the backstage door of the venue and towards the bus. Once safely inside, she headed back towards the bunk area, and to the one where she knew a certain tall, somewhat lanky, blonde boy was sleeping soundly. She pulled back the curtain and shook his shoulder lightly. "Luke, c'mon, you're going to be late for soundcheck." She said quietly.
If there was one thing that Ashton loved more than tour itself, it was having his girlfriend on tour with him. Sure, Madeleine came to just about every single one of his shows, and he loved that she did just that, but sometimes she couldn't. And he knew that, out of all the guys, he was the luckiest of them all because he got to have his girlfriend there with him. Of course, there were times when he didn't feel so lucky because of all the shit that he and Madeleine had to deal with from the fans sometimes, but it was all worth it in the long run. Because he loved what he did for a living, but he also loved his girlfriend more than anything else in the entire world, and if he had to choose, he was pretty sure that he'd choose her over the fans any day of the week.

Luke groaned and started swatting his arm around behind him hoping to keep Roise away from him and let him sleep a bit longer. He'd heard her though, and he knew that she was there to wake him up because he had soundcheck to get to, but he didn't wanna move out of bed. And truthfully he was glad the guys had sent her rather than Calum or something because then he was sure he would've already been jumped on and thrown out of bed or something. Though Roise for all he knew could be about to throw cold water or something on him since she had done that once before. He still didn't wanna move out of bed though. It was nice and warm, and rather comfortable for a bed on a bus really. Therefore he didn't wanna get up, and it had something to do with staying up late with Michael and Calum like he probably shouldn't have. But he hadn't been tired, and Ashton had turned in with Madeleine and they did who knew what, and Roise had went to bed early too and they were the only two still up so of course he'd hung out with them late like he shouldn't have knowing they had to be up early.
Madeleine absolutely loved her boyfriend. And most of the time she really enjoyed the company of his friends. He was pretty much her entire world. And she couldn't have been prouder of the guys and how far they'd come. This was a huge thing for them, headlining One Directions tour. And even though things got tough because of all the drama with the fans sometimes she wouldn't give any of this up because she loved him too much to be without him. "So I just wanted to thank everyone who's been so kind and always sticks up for me. It means a lot to me that you guys are so sweet. Oh and I have been getting some requests to include Ashton in a video again so here we go." She said into her camera with a smile as she walked backstage to find her boyfriend. "So here's Michael and Calum, it's better if just don't ask what they're doing they're kind of strange, and I think Luke's still sleeping if anyone's wondering where he is." She said pointing it at them and sticking her tongue out at them for a moment before turning it back around again before they could flip the camera off. "Oh and look guys, it's my dork of a boyfriend. Say hi to the camera Ash!"

A soft giggle escaped Rosie's lips and she gave her eyes a slight roll. Luke wasn't necessarily the worst one to wake up out of all the guys, but he could still be rather difficult when he wanted to be. And the boys knew that, and they claimed that, since she was his best friend and he liked her more, it was her job to wake him up today. She was honestly kind of surprised that he was the last one awake. Usually Calum was straggling in last minute, but not today. He had even woken up before Luke. "I know that you don't want to get up, love, but you kind of have to. The boys sort of need you for soundcheck. I don't make the rules, I'm just the messenger." She said, a slight grin tugging at the corners of her lips.
Having his girlfriend on tour with him was probably what made it all so enjoyable for him. Of course, Ashton loved what he did, but he knew that he would miss Madeleine like crazy if they were apart for several months at a time. He knew that it would be difficult for both of them, but he was sure that they would be able to get through it. But they didn't have to, and it was simply one less thing for him to worry about. And he was thankful for that fact because he already dealt with enough shit from quite a few of their fans. It was almost enough to give him a constant headache. He was seated on the couch backstage, playing around with his phone and responded to a few fans on twitter, when his girlfriend walked in. He grinned, waving to the camera. "Hi!"

"What time is it even?" Luke asked in his tired voice, but not lifting his head from his pillow. Clearly it was almost time for soundcheck, since Rosie had mentioned that, but he wanted to know just what time it was before he was jumping out of bed to pull himself together for soundcheck. Normally he probably would've already been up by though honestly since truthfully Calum or Mike were the last ones up normally but today clearly it was him. And it did kind of made him regret staying up late being an idiot with his two friends but he'd had fun and well them being on tour and all sometimes it was hard to find a little time in between everything to just be around one another and have fun so he supposed not being able to sleep in more was worth it.
Madeleine plopped onto the couch next to Ashton and turned her camera off now that she was with Ashton and decided that she'd film some more later and of course edit everything or whatever she needed to do to make it a nice video later. And then she crossed her arms and rested them and her head on his shoulder. "I love being on tour with you guys." She told him knowing that it would be so hard for them to be apart for months at a time, even if they would've been able to do it just because they loved one another that much she was glad they didn't have to. They might not have been in the honeymoon phase of their relationship anymore, but still being away from one another for months at a time would still be awful and she was sure one of them would end up cracking and flying out to see the other at some point. "So one of my subscribers was telling me about this adorable vintage tea shop around here she goes to all the time and we should go before we leave town."

"Half three." Rosie responded almost instantly. She couldn't help the small smile that tugged at the corners of her lips as she got the slightest bit of amusement out of seeing her best friend hardly awake and bleary eyed. He used to be rather shy, and somewhat introverted even, though with the band becoming more and more known, he'd come out of his shell a bit, so to not see him bouncing off the walls like the rest of them was rather funny to say the least. "And you should've been in there for soundcheck...well, now. Why don't you get dressed and I'll grab you a poptart or something?"
Ashton's arm moved around her shoulders, pulling her closer to him as he pressed his lips to her head lightly. "I love having you on tour with us." He was so glad that she was able to come with them whenever they went on tour. The time apart would just be absolute torture, and he didn't know if he'd be able to handle not seeing her for extended periods of time. It was bad enough when she stayed at the hotel while he and the guys went off to do signings or radio shows and other press related things during the day, and that was only a couple of hours of them apart. He knew that they wouldn't be able to be together 24/7, but he just really liked knowing that she was on tour with him. "Yeah? Whatever you want to do, babe." He smiled.

"Shit." Luke grumbled while he got out of bed and rubbed his face. He didn't know why he'd slept so long, or why anyone had let him sleep so long but oh well. And even if he'd slept this late it wasn't like it would mess up his sleeping schedule at all, with all the traveling and everything else they did he'd still probably end up tired before it was too late. The lack of sleep and being away from home was always the worst about traveling. Of course having Rosie here on tour with him this time around did make up for being away from home so at least there was that. "Will you heat it up for me too." Luke said with a pouty face knowing he needed to be ready in like record time so the guys didn't murder him for being any later than he already was.
Madeleine smiled and peppered a few kisses along his neck while they sat there waiting for Luke since she was sure that was the only reason they hadn't actually started soundcheck yet. She really liked being on tour with them, especially since she knew it would be hard on them both if they had to be oceans apart all the time. Even if she was willing to make the distance work as best they could she didn't want to do that or have to worry about it. And she liked being able to support him all the time by being right there with him rather than having to do it through a computer or phone and missing out on certain things. And she knew there were certain things that only a hug from the love of your life could fix. And she didn't even want to imagine what it would be like having to wake up to an empty bed every morning when she'd gotten so accustom to waking up next to him every morning. "I'll look up directions later then and we can go maybe even explore some before we leave." She said not sure what she'd do without him sometimes.

Rosie couldn't help letting out a quiet laugh when she saw the pouty expression on her best friend's face. "I suppose so." She said. So far, being on tour with the boys, she felt more like their mother than anything else. Not that she was complaining about that; she liked taking care of people. She'd always been the caregiver type. "Go get ready. I'll heat one up for you." Her hand brushed against his arm lightly as she walked past him, heading to the small kitchen that they had on the bus. She searched through the cabinets, finding the box of pop tarts rather quickly. She took a package out, popping both into the toaster. She leaned against the counter, waiting for Luke.
Ashton smiled, pressing another kiss to the top of her head. He really did love having her out on tour with him. He didn't know how he'd manage without her there with him for several months out of the year. He hoped that he'd never have to deal with that. Of course, he knew that distance supposedly made the heart grow fonder, or something along those lines, but he didn't want to be away from her for extended periods of time. Maybe a couple of days or a week or two, but not months at a time. That would be horrible. He nodded. "Alright, sounds good."

[ GIRL! So I just found out that August 4th of next year, 10 days before my birthday, 5SOS is gonna be at the Yum center in Louisville, which is like 10 minutes from me!!!!!! asdhjkhfkjewg! ]

"You're the best!" Luke called as he watched Rosie walk out of the little room he was in so he could get ready. Though it didn't really take much for him to be ready. He just slipped out of the sweats he'd fallen asleep in and into some jeans and then threw on the first t-shirt he could find, well the first clean one he could find. They really hadn't had much time for laundry lately and well they were kind of messy but oh well. Once he was ready though he ran into the bathroom wash his face real fast and of course do something with his hair before he headed out all together to meet Rosie in the kitchen for his poptarts so he could head out and meet the others for sound check so they didn't get farther behind.
Madeline smiled mostly to herself. Being with Ashton was amazing, being on tour with him rather than having an ocean between them was amazing, just having him in her life though was the greatest thing she could've ever asked for. And she was super thankful that neither of them had let the pressure of his fans come between them. She saw a lot of people hate on celebrities girlfriends/boyfriends, before the band had gotten bigger over, on twitter and things and she'd always assumed that was difficult to deal with and might be a potential cause for a break up or something and the last thing she wanted was to lose him, especially because of the fans.

[Ohmygod! They're coming to a venue near me too! I'm really hoping that my friend and I can get tickets. And that's so weird because the show by me is going to be five days before my birthday!! Haha.]

"Yeah, yeah, yeah!" Rosie called over her shoulder, waving her hand dismissively, as she walked out and over to the kitchen. She was only joking around with him though. She didn't mind popping a few poptarts into the toaster for him, it wasn't a big deal. After all, what were friends for, right? She was leaning against the counter when Luke walked in, one of the pastries popping up from the toaster moments later. "Be careful." She warned, knowing all too well what he would probably do. And that was reach for the poptart without even thinking to grab a napkin or towel, something to protect his hand, seeing as the pastry would probably be pretty hot. After knowing him practically her entire life, she knew his habits all too well. And she'd learned the habits of most of the others pretty well now too, and it sometimes really did make her feel like the mother of the group or something.
Ashton smiled, pressing another kiss to the top of her head. He was so beyond lucky to have Madeline on tour with him. He knew that the others normally didn't luck out the way that he did, though Luke did have Rosie this time around, not that it was exactly the same thing. Not to Luke anyway. Everyone, except for Rosie, seemed to see it though, it was quite obvious really. Luke clearly had a thing for Rosie. A thing that didn't involve completely platonic feelings for the tiny blonde. But, whenever Ashton or Calum or Michael, hell even Madeline, brought it up, he always tried denying it for some reason. It was weird to say the least. "So, d'you think Luke'll finally grow a pair and tell Rosie how he feels anytime soon?"

[ Well then we should both keep our fingers crossed that we both get to go! Because I'm really hoping I can get tickets to go either with my sister or my best friend I wouldn't even care which, and that is kind of weird but totally awesome! ]

Luke had been about to grab the poptarts right away without a paper towel or anything, like he normally would, before he heard Rosie and made a quick note to grab a napkin first so he didn't burn his hand. "What would I do without you?" He asked as he took the poptarts out of the toaster with his napkin and took a quick bite figuring he'd stuff his face while he made the short walk to the studio for sound check. And he honestly didn't know what he'd do without her. She was his best friend, other than the lads of course. She was always there when he needed her and almost like the mother who was always with him since she acted so much like a mother when she was around. Which was actually kind of nice in a way since if she didn't then Luke was sure he and the rest of the guys would be out of control. Well maybe not Ashton since he had Maddie but him, Michael, and Calum for sure totally needed someone to keep them in line sometimes so they didn't get too out of control.
Madeline shook her head and laughed a little. "No. I mean I love Luke and all. But he's a stubborn little shit and especially when it comes to her. He won't even admit that he likes her as more than a friend when one of us brings it up. It's always just 'I don't know what you mean Rosie and I are just friends.' Or he'll say that we're not seeing straight because he doesn't look at her any different than how he looks at someone else. So since he clearly can't admit it to any of us I doubt he'll be able to admit to her." She said wishing that weren't the case, since she really did think that Luke needed to tell at least someone. He needed to get it out in the open and maybe get some help with how to tell Rosie but until Luke could admit to himself that he liked Rosie and wanted to get with her then Madeline was doubtful he'd be able to admit it to her.

[I really hope that we both get tickets somehow!]

"Hm, lets see...you'd probably wind up taking several trips to the hospital, and oh yeah, you'd totally be lost without me." Rosie said, a slight grin tugging at the corners of her lips. Though she'd gone with a much more playful response, she sort of thought the same thing about Luke. They were best friends, had been since they were kids, and she really couldn't see him not being in her life. He meant so much to her, maybe even more than he actually realized. And maybe even more than she actually realized. She had never really given much thought to her feelings for the shy singer being anything but platonic, though that didn't necessarily mean that they weren't there. She just hadn't really realized it herself just yet. "C'mon, you're already late for soundcheck as it is." Without giving it much though, she grabbed his hand and tugged him towards the door.
Ashton chuckled. "Yeah, I guess you're right." He said. Luke was normally pretty stubborn to begin with, and it was even worse if it was something that involved Rosie. No matter how many times he, the lads, and Madeline brought it up, he would continue to deny his feelings for the girl. It was starting to get rather ridiculous, and Ashton had been tempted to mention it to Rosie himself, though, if by some small chance she didn't feel the same way, he didn't want to be the cause for ruin to their friendship. Not that he thought that that would actually ever end up happening. "Well, if he doesn't realize it soon, I don't know if he ever will. She's not seeing anyone right now, but who's to say that she won't in the near future? How about this? If they aren't together by the time the last leg of the tour rolls around, we try giving 'em the push that they so obviously need?"

Luke actually knew that she was right, even if her response was supposed to to be playful and probably a joke he knew that he'd be totally lost without her. Rosie kind of kept his life in order in a sense. She was there for advice when he needed it no questions asked, and well he had to admit that she gave much better advice than the lads did. Plus he'd known her for over half his life, and personally people who've been in your life that long without leaving were clearly there to stay. And those were the kinds of people Luke wanted in his life, people he could count on and trust would always be around when he needed them and in return he'd be there for them. Which for him was basically Rosie, the lads, and Madeline. "I haven't even had time to eat my poptarts." Luke whined with a mouth full of poptart as she pulled him towards the door for the sound check he was already late too.
"And I totally agree. She's a pretty girl there's no way she's gonna be single forever, and if Luke doesn't buck up he might just lose his chance all together. Then he'll totally hate everything, especially if things work out with Rosie and some other guy because he took his sweet time realizing how he felt about her." Madeline said wanting everything to work out with those two, but she did agree with Ashton. They should give the other pair a push or something to help them come around if they couldn't do it themselves. "I just hope that one of them will see how they feel soon and figure everything out so we don't actually have to get too involved. Because I would feel really awful if we told Rosie how Luke felt and then her end up not feeling the same, which could possibly ruin their friendship. Which we both know means a lot to Luke."

Luke was one of Rosie's oldest friends. Hell, he probably was her oldest friend. She'd known him for years now, and their friendship was still going strong. That wasn't something that she could really say about some of the other friends she'd had in primary school and she'd known Luke before either of them started going to school anyway. "You shouldn't talk with your mouth full. It's rude." She said simply, continuing to tug him towards the door for sound check. She knew that it probably wouldn't have mattered now if he was a few more minutes late, but he didn't want to hold everything up for much longer. The 1D boys still had to go through sound check as well, so Luke was holding everything up right now.
"That's exactly why I think we might need to give 'em both a subtle push." Ashton said. He knew that he wasn't exactly the king of subtlety, but he figured that he could try for the sake of their friends. He knew that Madeline was right, and she had just voiced a similar concern to one that he had as well. He was hesitant in getting involved because he didn't know what would happen if he did and Rosie didn't end up returning Luke's obvious feelings. Things would just go completely to hell from there, and he really didn't want two of his friends to wind up being miserable because of him. "I really don't see her not feeling the same way, but I have thought about that being the case once or twice. That's why I haven't done anything about it already."

Once Luke swallowed the poptart he stuck his tongue out at her, "don't tell me what to do." He jokingly sassed. Something the pair of them did a lot actually. Luke just enjoyed being able to playfully sass one another without it being too much and someone getting upset. He loved Rosie, and having her in his life. She was one of the most important people in his life, and one of the only girls he didn't get totally nervous around. Which he knew everyone thought it was weird that he couldn't really talk to pretty girls very well when he was in a band now traveling the world, but he really couldn't talk to girls very well other than Rosie and like his mom, and Madeline. So it was more he couldn't talk to girls he didn't know very well.
"Why don't we invite them to go out with us somewhere and then kind of work some magic that way and see where it goes." Madeline suggested, since she did want Luke and Rosie to admit how they felt and get together too. She just didn't want to get too involved or push one of them too hard about their feelings in case they were wrong and their feelings really were entirely platonic. Because Madeline didn't want to ruin Luke and Rosie's friendship with each other, but she also didn't want to ruin their friendships with her. So maybe something light like invited them both to tag with her and Ashton and making it seem like a bunch of friends hanging out might be just the right push they needed. Well as long as everything went according to plan and Rosie didn't end up with some other guy or Luke with some other girl.

"We're in America, it's a free country, therefore, I can do whatever I want." Rosie sassed right back. This was definitely something that the two of them did quite frequently. There was never a dull moment whenever they were around each other. Of course, with how crazy the lads could be at times, there never seemed to be a dull moment anyway, but that was especially the case when Rosie and Luke were together. "And let's not forget that your mom asked me to keep an eye on you, which basically means that I'm the boss, so you kind of have to do what I tell you to do." She smirked slightly.
Ashton shrugged. "We could do that." He said. If they kept things seemingly casual, like a bunch of friends hanging out, and then just gave the pair a subtle push at some point, maybe things would work out. He hoped that that would be the case. He didn't want to dwell too much on this situation though. He really didn't know for sure if the feelings that their friends had for each other were more than platonic, and the last thing that he wanted to do was screw up their friendship. The subtle route really just seemed to be the best way to go about it all.

"Really, you're gonna use the 'we're in America and it's a free country' line?" Luke asked shaking his head. "Oh and I see how it is. Since my mum left you in charge you think you're the boss. Well hate to burst your bubble princess but she isn't here." He said sticking his tongue out again. Truthfully Luke wasn't sure if his mum really had told Rosie to keep an eye on him or not, though he wouldn't be surprised if she had. If she had though he knew that Rosie would do it, though she'd probably asked the lads to look out for him too. He was the baby after all, barely 18 and off traveling the world in a band with his friends without her around to make him dinner or tuck him in. Not that she had tucked him in recently or anything, but it was just she wasn't around to baby him like she did at times when he was home so she was just being a worried mother. And Luke understood that, he could see how she could be worried about him being so far away and traveling all over the world without her. But he also knew for a fact that the other lads' their mum's were just as worried and stressed out about their kids growing up. Hell there was no telling what Ashton's mum told Madeline before they'd left thinking about the mum's being protective.
"I just think it's best if we go with something subtle until we can be sure how they both feel and whatnot." Madeline said really not wanting to overstep her bounds when it came to Luke and Rosie. "Plus I promised your mum before we left that I'd keep you in line. And by the way you know that she knows we have sex, and share a bed, and that she packed a box of condoms in your things so we could practice safe sex while we were gone right?" She asked him just thinking about that having brought his mum up into the conversation. She didn't know if Ashton knew or not, or if it was even a big deal but thinking about she did wonder if he knew. Either way though it wasn't going to change anything, they'd still share a bed every night and have sex if they wanted. And Michael and Calum would probably joke around about how they'd been too loud like idiots. And Madeline would continue to enjoy just being on tour with the guys and getting the chance to spend time with the guy she loved while he lived out his dream.

"Yeah, I am actually. Do you have a problem with that?" Rosie asked, quirking a brow. She stuck her tongue out, returning the gesture. "I'm well aware of that fact, but thank you for attempting to enlighten me. I'm sure Liz would love to know that that's what you have to say on that matter. I'll have to give her a call later." She was only teasing obviously. She wasn't actually going to call his mother or anything like that. She'd really just asked her to keep an eye on him for her, and take care of him and stuff like that. Things that she probably would have done regardless of whether she'd asked her to or not.
Ashton nodded. "No, I know what you mean. You're probably right. We're probably better off going with something subtle." He said. He knew that his girlfriend was right. They didn't want to overstep any boundaries or anything like that. The last thing that he wanted to do was ruin Luke and Rosie's friendship, so subtle actions here and there were probably for the best. He was just hoping that a subtle push would end up bringing the two together by the time the end of tour rolled around. He hoped that it happened sooner than that though. He listened as Madeline continued, quirking a brow at her words. He figured that his mum had asked her to make sure that he behaved himself and stuff like that, and the safe sex wasn't that surprising either, but actually packing them a box of condoms? Well, he wasn't necessarily expecting that. "Did she really?" He asked her. "Well, if she packed them, we might as well put them to good use." He grinned.

"Maybe I do. And you wouldn't call her and get me in trouble because you love me too much to do something like that." Luke said before he was hugging her as they got closer to sound check. He did know she wouldn't call his mum, well not unless something really bad happened like he was put in the hospital or something and his mum really needed to be notified. But he just really liked to joke around with her. Luke truthfully wouldn't mind if Rosie was in charge every once in a while because at least she was here with him on tour rather than back home in Sydney without him. Luke would do just about anything really if it meant she'd be here with him because he'd miss her like crazy if she weren't here. And they weren't even dating. She just meant a lot to him, and maybe deep down he did want to be able to love her in a more than platonic way and he wanted her to feel the same for him, but that was something he kept to himself afraid of losing her all together if something went bad.
Madeline nodded her head, of course she was right. It was Luke and Rosie's lives and neither her nor Ashton should go overstepping bounds trying to force them to be together and possibly ruining a friendship which could in turn ruin a lot more than just a friendship. Madeline looked up at her boyfriend and nodded her head. "Yes she did." She told him before she rolled her eyes playfully at him. "Sorry mate Mads and I already used them all. Isn't that right babe?" Michael said sitting next to the pair, totally fucking around while they all waited for Luke to arrive. "Oh yea, sorry Ash I forgot to tell you that Michael and I were having an affair. Because I just love his green hair, and you know that he plays that guitar." Madeline joked before she kissed Ashton's cheek.

"Well, that sucks for you then, because I'll say what I want to say." Rosie said, sticking her tongue out rather childishly at him. They were both obviously extremely mature. The most mature people ever. "And about that..." She teased, a faint smirk tugging at the corners of her lips. She knew that he would know that she was only joking. She did love him, he was her best friend after all, and she was just fucking with him right now. Mainly because his reactions were always rather entertaining. He usually acted like such a baby, and she teased him for it constantly.
Ashton really did hope that things worked out for their friends one way or another. He knew that he wasn't the only one who saw the obvious chemistry that the two shared, and he was pretty sure that the feelings they had for each other were anything but platonic, but he didn't want to put Luke and Rosie's friendship at stake. He knew how important Rosie was to Luke and vice-versa, and he doubted that things would go over well if one of them ended up not feeling the same way about the other and all that. So, the subtle route was definitely the way to go in this case. "I can't believe you two would do something like this to me...you both are just horrible people." He sighed, shaking his head as if in disbelief. He knew that this conversation was just Michael fucking around, and well, being Michael. Madeline obviously wasn't cheating on him.
