Finishing up with her Calculus homework, she decided that she might as well take on Macbeth next in honor of Aaron. Sarah cracked open the book, inhaling the dust from previous years of use, while hearing the soft buzz against the table. I know.. Thanks. Just don't forget that I'm here for you, too. Also, we just have to read the first act, right? Should I jot down some notes for class? She sent back, leaning back in her chair to draw her knees up to her chest. Some of the Shakespearian words were starting to confuse her and she reread the lines only to be more frustrated. With a sigh, Sarah rested her head against her knees since her mind was in pain.

    --

Lucas looked over at her with an eyebrow raised as if that was even a question that she should ask. "From what I could see, I think that you were long gone. I think I may have had a little too much to drink, too, though. I can't remember some things." He didn't think that he was missing anything special though. Just some girl he made out with and drinks. Lucas definitely wasn't one to dance or make a scene, especially since he just lurked in the background.

"No, no, I just wanted to watch the action happen and not be in it." He reassured her since he didn't want any type of attention. Just going there was a step out of his comfort zone. "Yeah, it was alright, I guess. The alcohol was good, so I guess I can't exactly complain about anything else."

Aaron listened as his phone beeped. He chuckled, he might be a friend but he was still a teacher. I won't. And right, just the first act. And a few notes might be helpful. But remember, anything you still don't understand in class, I'm here to help! Setting his phone back down, he grabbed for a book and began to skim the words for a few moments. He felt content at the moment, this was the first time in a long time where he felt happy, while being alone. Aaron chewed on his lip, images of his students raced along.

He was curious as to all their personalities. And he wanted to know their personalities. But not as much as he wanted to know more about Sarah.

    ___

"What can't you remember?" She raised her eyebrow and leaned in closer to him. Kat was truly curious, she couldn't remember much and it felt nice to know someone else didn't either. "And I might have been a little drunk." She laughed and thought about all the drinks she had. Then he talked about the alcohol, "You're welcome for the booze! My brother helped supply me with the best." She gave a flirtatious wink.

Though her mind was still thinking about the mysterious guy. She knew they must've hooked up, but it'd be nice if she knew who it was. Chewing on her pen, she kept her gaze on Lucas.

Finishing up with the first act, she just jotted down whatever she could understand but was sure she missed some symbols and foreshadowing events. Okay, I can already tell you that I don't like Macbeth. No one talks like this anymore! I don't understand it! She sent back with a groan, tossing the book off to the side to start Physics homework. Sarah figured that she could just have Aaron explain whatever she couldn't understand. Either that or Sparknote it. Even though she went back to focusing, Sarah couldn't help but glance over at her phone to wait for a response. It was no lie that she liked talking to him outside of class.

    --

Scratching the back of his head, Lucas wasn't sure what he even did remember. The whole night was mostly a blur to him except for the random things like the blinding lights and her on the dance floor. "I don't know. I just remember drinking and then drinking again." He admitted with a small laugh since it was the only thing he remembered from parties. Lucas knew that he had been pissed off by his father, which was why he went in the first place. What happened between the time he had those drinks and when he got home was completely dark. "That's about it. Why?" He questioned since Katherine seemed to be awfully curious about the way his night went.

Aaron chuckled at the text and shook his head, It's difficult to understand, I'll admit to that. But you have to be willing to enjoy the piece of work. I mean, it's one of the best plays out there. He smiled as he sent the text. For some reason, he was enjoying talking to her than he thought possible. Sighing softly, he rubbed his face with his hands and let out a light laugh. There was something about talking to her that made him smile and feel better about everything that was going on around him. He had missed this feeling. In all honesty, he hadn't even really felt this way about his wife, well now ex-wife. This was someone he was actually able to talk to, which seemed odd to think considering he had only known the girl for two days.

Sitting up in bed, he looked at the time and thought that it was rather late for Sarah to even be awake. He assumed she was exhausted and felt bad for texting her this late. Scrolling through his facebook feed, he waited for her to respond. Then he saw a picture of his ex sitting on his screen, she was kissing another man, no doubt the same one she had cheated on him with. A shot of pain sprung through his chest. They were divorced, but that didn't mean he wouldn't get a little jealous.

    ___

"Oh, I uh... I was just wondering!" She lied, in all honesty, she was hoping that maybe he'd have some clue as to who she had gone off with. It was really starting to bother her that she didn't know. It made her feel a bit like a whore. Running a hand through her purple and blue locks, she bit her lip and looked to him. "I just like to know what people remember from parties like that!" Another lie, well partially. Playing with the bracelet some more, she looked around and spotted James sitting in the front with one of his friends. Kat hated having a class with him, but she was thankful that her teacher had assigned them partners and that she got someone who she could talk to.

Kat turned back to him, "So are we gonna have to like hangout to work on this project?" She wanted to know in case she would have to take him back to her house on certain days.

Within no time, she was finished with the couple of problems that the teacher had assigned for homework. It seemed like Aaron's message were perfectly timed for the teen, hearing the buzz. Opening it up, she sighed since it was so hard to give the play a chance for her. You are just say that because you are an English teacher. You practically live off these books. I mean, I am trying! The book just isn't giving me a reasonable argument for giving it a chance. Sarah replied back and cracked open the European history textbook to read the chapter that had been assigned. Placing a hand against her cheek, her eyes slowly ran across the lines of the text.

For a moment, she wondered why Aaron was up so late at night. Was being a teacher really this hard or was she keeping him up? She didn't mean to though, if that were the case. Sarah felt a little selfish for preventing him from sleeping and decided to stop texting him until she was finished with her work. Maybe by then he would be well asleep. After the rough day that he had, Aaron deserved a little rest.

    --

Lucas looked at her completely unconvinced with her story. Although he didn't care much for academic books, he was pretty street smart. He could tell just from the way she played it off that she was lying through her teeth, but he wasn't about to call her out on it. It wasn't his business that she was trying to gather some missing pieces from the previous night. Katherine probably ended up doing something that she regretted he figured. "I am sure there are multiple pictures of the party on someone's phone. Even more than the ones on the internet. If I wanted to remember something, I would start there." He offered nonchalantly with a small shrug.

"Yeah, we would have to. The teacher wants a poster or PowerPoint of the presentation, so I'll just give you my number? Work something out?" Lucas wrote it down on the corner of the paper and ripped it out for her. Holding it out, he hoped that she wouldn't forget to delete it when this was all over. He didn't need another girl texting him about parties again. One had been enough for his high school life.

Aaron couldn't help but laugh at her text. True, he lived off of the books, but he also enjoyed the message that each of them held. Macbeth was mostly about not letting your head overpower you. Smirking, he responded, Yes, I live off the books, maybe that's because I have no friends lol. And why are you up this late anyway? Don't you have school in the morning? He added a little emoticon, he didn't seem to think much of it. He laughed at himself, he knew he should be asleep, but it was much more fun being awake and texting someone. Sleeping was something he did all the time, talking to someone seemed much more rare.

Staring off at the wall, Aaron chewed on his thumbnail and looked back to his phone. He was truly hoping that she didn't think he was weird or anything. He was just trying to enjoy himself a little bit. But, he figured that this would probably be one of the few times that he would actually text her and she would respond. More than likely, she had a boyfriend and it would look weird if her boyfriend saw her texting another guy, much less her English teacher.

    ___

Kat nodded at his comment, it was true that people probably did have pictures, but that didn't really help her situation. She was more concerned with figuring out if she had hooked up with some guy that night, and if she had, who? Sighing, she took his number and quickly added it to her phone, she cringed at her wallpaper that was still of her and James. Sending Lucas a text, she smiled, "There now you have my number." She tapped on the paper for a minute. The bell would ring soon, but she wasn't ready for the class to be over with. Next period she would end up having lunch, and she would have to find some place new to sit. Sighing, she looked to Lucas, "What period do you have lunch?"

It was a random question, off topic from anything that they had talked about before. Then she shook her head, "Never mind." She didn't want to seem weird by asking him if they had the same lunch and if she could sit with him. He probably had his own friends and didn't want some random girl sitting with him.

It was around three in the morning when she finally finished with all of her work. Sarah leaned back with a yawn. She stood up to change into her sleeping clothes, pulling on a pair of flannels and a loose fitting shirt. Checking her messages, she saw that Aaron had messaged her back a good two hours ago. Hopefully, he was sleeping by now. She sat down on her bed and settled underneath the covers before answering the message. But I am your friend, which I am starting to question.. jk. I just finished up with homework. I told you that I was going to die in your class with all of the work on top of my workload now. Of course I have school in the morning. I am going see you there, too! Thinking that he was being ridiculous, she sent back the message, closing her eyes to fall asleep with the little time she had.

After a few moments passed, she sighed and reached over to check her phone. He was probably asleep, so she shouldn't be waiting for a response. It was hard to believe that he would be up right now; she couldn't be expecting to hear from him. Sarah sighed while settled back into the bed but felt like she couldn't stay still. Every few moments she would be up to check her phone. It was starting to become an addiction.

    --

Hearing the ping on his phone, Lucas went to save the number into his phone under Katherine, but saw that he already had another Katherine, so he saved it merely as Kat. He would know who it was. Most people called her Kat, anyway. It sounded familiar. Maybe he had bumped into her at the party or something. "Alright. I will figure out my schedule and text you when I am free." He nodded while glancing over to look at the time. It was almost time for his next period class, which just happened to be lunch for him. Lucas knew that he needed a break to relax his mind with all the stress.

Glancing back towards her, he answered that he had lunch next period. Lucas couldn't help but see that she wanted to ask something. It was clear from how much she was fidgeting about in her seat. "If you want to ask something, just ask. The worse that happens is that I say no or don't answer." Lucas replied she tried to play off her question. He wasn't quite sure what she wanted to ask him. If she warned to join him for lunch, he wouldn't really be sure what to say. He wouldn't mind but he was usually by himself in a corner.

Hearing the phone sing next to his ear, he opened his eyes slowly. He checked the time and shook his head, it was already three in the morning. He read the message and laughed lightly to himself, Maybe I won't be there! For all you know I'm going to run away and never return. Maybe make your life easier by taking out the extra work load. He sent another emoticon with that and yawned, he was awake, and that meant he probably would be for a while. Sitting up, he grabbed a stack of papers and began to read through them some more. He read over the question sheets he had handed out, a lot of people had written obscene things on them, making him shake his head. Then he checked his phone a few times. True, she was probably sleeping, but it didn't hurt to check.

Finishing up with the papers he had collected the basic information, most of his students were assholes. Yes, he was allowed to think that, he just couldn't actually say it. Or he could, but not to any of the students, just to his friends, what few friends he had. Shutting the light back off, he checked his phone again and hoped for a response, she was probably sleeping, but he was hopeful for something. Then Aaron mentally smacked himself, he was a teacher and she was a student, this wasn't some type of high school relationship. Of course, it felt like one to him. He had to keep breaking the urge to harmlessly flirt with her. It was a small challenge for him.

    ___

"Sounds good! I'm usually free everyday. Or I am now anyway." She laughed at her own, pathetic joke. When he urged her to ask her question, she chewed on her lip. "Well, I was wondering if maybe I could eat lunch with you?" Kat wanted to spare him the details of her relationship that had just ended. Two years down the drain, all because he decided to cheat on her. That brought her self-esteem down to a major low. Not as though she already had much to begin with, but being cheated on made things way worse. That's when James turned around and locked eyes with her, his gaze drifting from her to Lucas. A small bundle of nerves built in the pit of her stomach as he turned back away.

Kat cleared her throat, "But if you already have people to sit with, that's fine too. I was just wondering if I could. If not, that's fine." Tripping over her words as she spoke, she rubbed the back of her neck and looked down to the table. She felt pathetic, normally people were asking her to sit with them, but now she was asking to sit with someone. She didn't like being on this end of the stick, but she was beginning to realize that she would have to get used to it.

After a few moments, she heard the buzz and picked up the phone quickly to read the message. Sophia couldn't believe that he was still up at this hour... Ha ha. You're so funny. Running away isn't going to lessen the workload though! I am sure some other tyrant, who might be even worse, would take your position! Hitting the send button, she relaxed back onto the pillow while staring up at the ceiling. Sophia knew that she should have been fast asleep by now but couldn't bring herself to actually sleep. She had this feeling in her stomach that was keeping her awake. It only intensified every single time her phone went off, too, which didn't help her case. Sophia closed her eyes to just rest her mind, thinking that maybe relaxing would substitute for sleeping. Eventually, the exhaustion took over and she fell asleep around five minutes later.

Sophia woke up the next morning with a sigh since she was a little upset that she fell asleep the previous night. It was for the best that she got three hours of sleep though, as much as she hated to admit it. Sitting up in her bed, she could feel the dark circles forming underneath her eyes from the lack of sleep the past two days. Great, she didn't want Aaron seeing her this way. It probably shouldn't have mattered but.. it just bothered her for some reason. She got up from the bed to take a closer look in the mirror only to confirm her fears. The circles were pretty prevalent on her face. If she could have hid inside of a sweatshirt, she probably would have. Sophia changed into a skirt and a sweater for the day and left her room to get some breakfast before heading to school.

    --

Lucas thought that her choice of wording was pretty odd since Katherine always had something to do after school. Wasn't she always hanging out with that boyfriend or something of hers? Not to mention when it came to lunch; she was always surrounded by people wanting to talk to her. It actually surprised him that she had even asked to eat with him. He was always the person who ate alone since no one else wanted to join him. Now, it was reversed? Lucas didn't want her pity though. He didn't want anyone's pity. "You want to eat lunch with me?" He wanted to clarify with an eyebrow raised, because he wanted to make sure that she was really asking this. With a sigh, he ran a hand through his hair before answering,"I mean, I could really care less. Sit with me. Don't sit with me. It doesn't matter."

Just from the way that she was looking down at the paper, Lucas could see that this was huge step out of her comfort zone. Katherine Williams never asked to sit with someone during lunch since it was usually the complete opposite. "It's fine if you want to sit with me." He responded back while trying to find her gaze once more. It seemed like there was something or someone that made her uncomfortable in the room, considering that she kept looking around. "I just want to make sure that you're not doing this because you feel bad for me, right? I don't need sympathy."

Aaron was awake enough to respond to her text one last time before he fell asleep. You never know, someone who is way nicer than me could show up and take over. Crazy stuff like that happens all the time. He smiled and rested his eyes, without even meaning to, he fell asleep quickly. For the few hours that he slept, he awoke with a jolt when his alarm went off beside his head. Groaning, he rolled over, hit the button and then got up. Walking to the bathroom, he showered quickly, his eyes bloodshot and sleep deprived. Dressing himself, he grabbed his travel coffee mug and off to work he went.

Walking into his classroom, Aaron sat down on the desk and laid his head down in his hands. He hadn't stayed up that late in a long time, but he knew it was worth it in the long run. Aaron sighed as a few students walked in, he wasn't looking for them though, he was looking for one person in particular. He waited impatiently and kept checking the door every few moments looking for Sarah. It was starting to freak him out a little, he was becoming interested in a student, but as a friend, right? Only a friend. Or that's all he could hope for.

    ___

Kat felt a little hurt at first when he had told her she could sit with him or not. Then she looked back up at him, "This isn't pity or anything. I really do want to sit with you!" She looked up to him, her eyes full of a type of pain. It felt weird asking to sit with someone, and it felt even more weird when she knew that James kept looking back at them. She could hear his voice, whispering, calling her a whore. But she had no clue why, then her mind reverted back to the texts from Saturday, he had seen her with a guy, but he never specified who. But the way he was staring Lucas down, she was getting a feeling in her stomach.

Sighing, she looked up to him. "My friends don't have the same lunch as me this year." She spoke softly, "And James is on his period." She didn't want to tell him that he had cheated on her or that they had broken up.

Walking inside of Aaron's classroom, Sarah stopped by his desk with a small smile on her face when she saw that his head was down. "You know, a teacher shouldn't be sleeping. That's a student's job." She informed him, knocking her knuckles lightly against the desk to get his attention. It was nice to know that they both probably looked like a mess for staying up late texting each other. Glancing over at the time, she figured that they could talk for a few minutes until the other students started to walk in. She was the only one who came in early all the time. Sophia sat down on top of the desk while placing her books off to the side. "Sorry, I hope you don't mind." She offered a small smile, swinging her legs lightly.

Looking down at him, she resisted the urge to reach over and brush back a stray lock of his hair. It looked soft and silky. She wanted to run her fingers between it. Sarah bit her lip before dropping her eyes back to the ground since this was starting to become too dangerous for her. "So, I forgot to ask, but why were you up so late last night?" Sarah questioned since she was curious.

    --

Lucas saw something flash in her eyes but wasn't quite sure how to take it. Had his comment offended her or was there something even deeper than that? "Okay, okay. You can sit with me. Sorry if I made it a big deal.. I'm just not used to having people want to sit with me." He sighed while twirling the pen in his hand once more. With a frown, he looked over at the boy named James since he had just called Katherine a whore. She may have been a little frisky the night before, but she didn't deserve to be called anything like that. Lucas wasn't the confronting type though. It was his Senior year and he wasn't about to get in the middle of a fight between girlfriend and boyfriend.

"I don't have any friends, so welcome to the club." He dryly joked as a last attempt to make the situation between them a little better. Why did he had to be paired up with her? She may have been nice but the baggage was just too much for him. "It's whatever. This guy is a douchebag whether or not he's on his period." Lucas concluded with a small shrug when the bell rang for them to switch over periods.

Aaron jumped a little and chuckled as he looked up to see Sarah, a wave of happiness washed over him. "I'll sleep if I please." He joked and sat up straighter. Looking around, he stretched and then reached for his coffee. As she sat on his desk, he couldn't help but want to reach out and touch her thigh. Something about her looked warm and friendly. Fighting back the urge, Aaron shook his head, he was starting to get in too deep, but he didn't really care. Sitting back, he smiled, "I was texting this girl last night and she kept me up." He playfully winked. That was the truth, Sarah had been texting him most of the night, and he didn't care. "It's all good though, I enjoyed getting to talk to her." He wiggled his eyebrows with a laugh.

"Why were you up so late?" He raised an eyebrow and looked at her with a teacher-like stare. Something inside of him though was telling him to keep acting like her friend, but then he would want to flirt. Aaron was becoming conflicted in his mind, but kept his composure on the outside at ease.

    ___

"Well, now you have someone who does!" She said matter-of-factly. Chewing on her lip, she felt the skin become raw and the taste of copper touch her tongue for a moment. James kept talking about her, making comments and rolling his eyes. Kat knew he was upset, but shouldn't she be the one making him feel like shit? After all, he was the one who had cheated on her with some random girl. He was the one who threw their relationship down the drain.

Kat smiled weakly at his dry joke, "Then we both have a friend at least." She added with a sigh, as the bell rang she got up and followed Lucas. "He's always a douche, a douche who sleeps with other girls!" She shouted it towards his direction, a smug look of satisfaction clung to her lips for a few moments. Kat wasn't about to let James ruin her life at school, or at all. However, maybe shouting about him wasn't the best. Because that just continued to follow her to lunch as more people coughed and whispered at her. Each of them saying things about her, each word they said stung like a knife being dug into her flesh. Looking to the ground, she stayed close to Lucas in attempt to keep the voices at bay.

Rolling her eyes at him, she smelled the aroma of coffee and wished that she had some. Her parents were always going on about how caffeine was a horrid addiction that would only make her dependent on it. It was too late for that though. She gave a sarcastic laugh since she could say the same about him. "Well, I was up so late because I've been talking to this guy. He just wouldn't leave me alone even if I tried to give him the message." Sarah countered before sticking out her tongue, knowing that he would know who it was. Pausing for a moment, she added onto her initial statement. "But he was a little funny, so I guess I didn't mind talking to him as much as before."

Sarah glanced over at the time once more before realizing that she should head back to her seat. Hopping off of the table, she gathered her books and turned to glance over her shoulder. "Maybe I'll stop by sixth period with some lunch. You might get a little lonely in here being all alone." She smiled before heading to her seat, crossing one leg over the other. At this point, she knew that she was probably being too friendly with him, but she really liked his personality. It would be a shame if she just stopped talking to him all together.

Lucas glanced over at James since the whole class heard of his betrayal. The mumbles between people only get louder because of her comment while James looked visibly appalled, claiming this time that she was a lying whore. Not wanting to get involved even more, he walked off towards the cafeteria to just get something to eat. He frowned at the way that people were pointing at Katherine, making a big deal out of things. This was why he just wanted to graduate from high school already; they were immature children. He didn't want to be involved with these type of people anymore.

"We can eat outside. I have a place away from people so don't worry about it." Lucas told her while he fell in line to grab a sandwich when the voices didn't die down. After spending so much time wanting to be alone, he found a place out in the back of the school. He would just leave something to prop open the door and sit out with nature in the silence. It was obvious that Katherine was feeling uncomfortable with all of the unneeded attention as well. "Don't listen to these people. They've probably done ten times worse than you have and no one says anything." He commented and swiped his I.D. to pay for the food, walking off towards the door.

Smirking at her comment, he rolled his eyes as she walked off. He couldn't help but watch for a moment, and when she mentioned coming in for lunch? Aaron couldn't help but let his gaze linger a little longer. "Sounds lovely. I'm looking forward to it." He winked, hoping nobody saw that. Aaron was walking on thin ice, in fact, he was walking on thin ice with cement blocks attached to his feet. But there was something about this girl, something he was interested in. He wanted to get to know her better, and spend more time with her. Although, that was very unprofessional, he was starting to care less and less. He was hoping that their conversations would become more frequent.

Sighing, he looked up to the clock as the bell rang. A few students straggled behind, but he let it slide. He was too tired to deal with them this morning. Standing up, he took attendance and then began his lecture on the first act of the play. It was one of the easiest acts to understand, yet a few students were too clueless to even understand the English that was still used today. Shaking his head, he turned to the board and began scrawling letters across it. Explaining what the different words meant. As he spoke, he couldn't help but allow his eyes to drag to where Sarah sat, a small smile played on his lips. "Now, class, this is the easiest act in the entire play! Actually, there a few others that are just as easy." He shook his head with a grimace as some students groaned and mumbled. "Would it be easier if I just sat here and read the whole thing out loud?"

As the class period dragged on, he answered questions, gave them notes on what to write down and he kept checking over to Sarah, but not as frequent as he thought. He had no clue why he was doing it, but he just was. He was really wishing that his free period would come sooner.

Katherine only nodded as Lucas spoke, she grabbed a bag of chips and tea as she paid and followed him. People continued to murmur about her. It was getting on her last nerve, but not a lot she could do considering she had just called out one of the more well known boys in the school. Kat was waiting for the day to be over with, so she could go home, sleep and forget how awful her day was going. She followed Lucas outside and sat down, grabbing a chip from the bag she nibbled it. The voices of the people had slowly died out and she was thankful for that. "I'm sorry you're walking around with me. I don't want to start any problems for you." She whispered.

A wave of text messages had already come pouring into her phone. Some from her few friends, hoping she was alright, and then a few from James, telling her to have fun with the guy from the party. Of course, she was confused, Lucas said he only drank with someone and Kat couldn't remember half of the night. She cleared her throat, "James keeps telling me to have fun with the guy from the party?" Her voice gave away her obvious confusion, "But the only guy I've been around today, is you." Had something more happened that she wasn't even entirely sure of?

Sarah smiled when she saw her best friend walk inside of the classroom, confirming that the whole entire first act didn't make any sense. "I am sure that Shakespeare wanted to ruin people's lives." She concluded with a groan to which Christine nodded enthusiastically. While she looked at Christine, she couldn't help but start to glance past her to look back at Aaron at his desk. She just stole a glance every now and then, but it was enough to arouse the concern that she was falling for her teacher. It was a horrible thought. The one thing she vowed not to do. It hadn't even been a week since school started either... Sarah felt like a complete idiot for even thinking that she was falling for him but still didn't want to stop. Christine was even starting to notice that her best friend had lingering eyes.

When the bell rang, Sarah was already ready with her book and notes from last night that she written. Needless to say, she was still pretty confused by the whole entire act. She leaned back into the seat when Aaron started to explain the various symbols that she completely missed because it started to make some sort of sense. The class was in a consensus though since no one understood what was going on. Aaron was in for quite a year with his AP English class. Although, Sarah couldn't help but notice that he was challenging her, giving snide remarks that she caught. Oh, he was definitely in for it during sixth period. Whenever he met her gaze, she would simply narrow her eyes at him in a small, playful glare.

The class seemed to drag on for the young teenager but she finally heard the bell ring to get to the next class. Macbeth was going to put her to sleep. Sarah gathered up her stuff slowly as the other students filled out. "I'll see you during lunch?" Christine questioned with a smile. Sarah gave a small shake of the head with an apology saying that she had a previous commitment. "Have a nice day, Mr. Matthews." She said on the way out before going to Calculus.

Sitting down on the pavement, Lucas started to unwrap the plastic wrap on the sandwich. "Most people don't even notice that you're walking with me." He shrugged before taking a bite out of it. At this point, he could care less about what people had to say about him. He was sure that they already called him everything in the book for being an outcast. It stopped bothering him around Freshman year of high school, completely becoming immune. "Honestly, I don't even understand why you care about what other people have to say. These people won't even remember you after high school." He commented and opened up the water he bought from the cafeteria, taking a long sip of it.

Lucas glanced over at her phone when it started to buzz uncontrollably. It seemed like the rumors only made her even more infamous among the school. "James doesn't even remember what his last name is. I doubt he even knows what he's talking about, Katherine." He responded since it was ridiculous to even make an accusation like that as if something happened between them. Lucas was sure that he would have remembered her blueish-purple hair and the way her bright eyes reflected the light... He quickly looked away with a sigh,"I have no idea what he's talking about. He must be thinking of something else."

He chuckled as the students walked out of the classroom, while Sarah passed new smile found his lips, "I'll see you then." He nodded and sighed as more students walked past. Some were commenting on the act, others were commenting on who they were dating or who they found attractive. Aaron chose to ignore most of the chatter, his mind elsewhere. The rest of his classes dragged on. He had to call a few girls out on their clothing, a few other students out on not doing the homework and then a few others were already getting slips to go to the office. Aaron couldn't help but laugh at some of the students, mostly the ones who had no clue what was going on. Then, he smiled wide as the bell rang for his lunch.

The students filed out, each of them chatting and looking to him for a few moments before leaving. He nodded, smiled and spoke a few soft words. Once his classroom was cleared out, he walked around and picked up any stray pieces of paper off the floor and threw them away. Going to his desk, he pulled out his small meal and began to nibble away at the food. A strange sense of nerves was balled in his stomach, he kept glancing to the door, waiting for Sarah to walk through. He didn't want to admit it, but he was starting to grow feelings for the young lady. Not like he was that much older, but it wasn't a relationship that was allowed, at all. If anyone even knew that they had been texting he could lose his job.

Sighing, he shook his head, ran a hand trough his tussled hair and chewed on his food. His mind was elsewhere the entire time. He continued to glance around. Looking at his phone, he rolled his eyes and sighed. His ex was still texting him, but he wasn't going to let her ruin his mood.

    ___

Nodding, she thought about what he said. It was true, most of the people would forget about her after graduation. Or at least after the summer of graduation. Kat already had plans to spend most of her summer after high school partying and not having a care in the world. Sadly, she knew that meant she would be around James. "Yeah, you're right. But still, it's annoying me! I've heard from my friends that I had walked off with some guy. And they got a picture of me following him, but they only got a shot of the back of his head." She rolled her eyes and leaned closer to Lucas for a moment, she showed him the picture. It was blurry, but there was obvious that she was with someone.

"Are you sure you didn't seem me at all? Like walk off with someone? Or did you by any chance walk off with that one girl, uh... Taylor! She has bright blue hair? Maybe they thought you walking off with her was me?" She was feeling pathetic now, dragging the poor guy into her issues. Quickly, she bit her tongue and went back to eating her few chips and drinking her tea. She sighed softly and shook her head, running a hand through her hair her eyes dropped to the ground. "Sorry, that was... probably weird."

Sarah went off to the her next class with anticipation for lunch already in the back of her mind. The rest of her classes slowly passed by and she was ready to jump out of her seat at the end of fifth period. Going to the cafeteria, she just chose something that everybody thought was safe to eat - the salad. Everything else looked like it could get up on two legs and walk away, which was horrifying in itself. There was no way she was going to risk getting sick on something like the frozen pizza or moldy chicken.

Sarah went off to Aaron's classroom, lightly knocking on the door before entering inside. "Hello, Mr. Matthews." She greeted with a smile and sat down in the closest chair to him. Taking out her Macbeth book as an excuse, she thumbed through a few of the pages and placed it down with a sigh. "You know, there was this annoying person during class today." She started while opening up the plastic container that had the salad inside of it before continuing on,"He kept saying that this act was the easiest one to read. Ugh, he was so frustrating to be around like he knew everything. Don't you just want to punch that kind of person sometimes?" Sarah glanced up at him innocently, taking a bite of the salad with her fork.

    --

Squinting his eyes to look at the photo, Lucas tried to see whose head that could have been, but it was just a generic head. What did bother him was the fact that the guy was wearing the same shirt he had been wearing that night. Maybe it was just a coincidence though. "I don't know.. That could really be anyone." He pointed out before turning his head to look at her, realizing how close that they actually were. Lucas backed away to get out of her personal space since it wasn't often that someone invaded his. "What's the big deal anyway? You just walked off with the guy." He reasoned since it would put his conscience at ease to know a little more about the circumstance.

"I-I.. I don't know. I don't remember anything about that party. Just that I came in then had a few drinks before leaving." He sighed since this was starting to get on his nerves. Not the fact that she kept questioning him but the fact that he couldn't remembered anything. Lucas never thought that he would have wanted to remember that night. What happened between this guy and Katherine that started all of this ruckus? "Maybe, I don't know." Pulling down the collar of his shirt with a sigh, he revealed the lingering red spots that were on his neck. "Okay, so, maybe something did happen. I swear, I don't remember who did this though."

His heart skipped a beat when she walked into the classroom. Smiling as she sat down, he took a bite of his sandwich and smiled to her. As she spoke, he laughed and rolled his eyes, "Oh God, yes. He is such a know-it-all! We should totally shove him into a locker." He spoke with a laugh and a wink. Aaron continued to pick at his food, then he finished and looked to Sarah for a moment, "There's this girl in class, she keeps distracting me from my work. Gosh, she just kept looking at me!" He poked his tongue out, that was something way different than his usual self. For once he was just having fun and laughing.

Throwing his garbage away, he sat back down and leaned back, just letting their time together be enjoyable. He wanted it to last, he wasn't going to be too happy once the bell rang. He knew the rest of his day would go by horribly slow and that he wouldn't be in the best mood. "So you don't find it weird that we were texting all last night, do you?" He cleared his throat, "I mean... If you do find it weird, we don't have to text at all. I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable." He leaned in a little closer, not meaning it in any sort of odd way. Aaron was hoping that she would say it was fine that they were texting. He really didn't wan to stop talking to her.

A sensation of flutters erupted through him though. Something he hadn't felt in a long time. But he knew it was wrong, this was his student, not just some girl he met out.

    ___

Shrugging, she agreed, "True. I just wish I knew who it was." She listened to him talk a little bit more. It was bothering her though, Kat was still racking her brain. To him it didn't seem like a big deal, but she knew something had happened considering she still had the hickeys and bruises on her hips to prove it. Chewing on her tongue, she took a sip of her drink and continued to look at Lucas, she couldn't help it. Honestly, she was surprised that more girls hadn't tried to climb all over him, he was extremely good looking, and the way the sun was hitting his eyes made her blush a little. Kat normally never looked at other guys, she was sometimes a little too shy for that. But something about Lucas made her smile softly.

Once he exposed his neck, she gawked for a moment and then moved her hair to the other side of her neck. She showed him her neck and pulled down the collar of her shirt a little. Her neck was littered with little red marks, a few were purple too. "Looks like we both got a little action Friday night." Kat grinned and thought about the fact that her legs were a little sore Saturday morning. She shook her head, she was trying to ignore the obvious fact that her and Lucas might have done something. She looked to him, "But I have no clue who did this to me either." She was being honest. It still bugged her though, the guy had told her his name, but she still couldn't remember it for shit.

Sarah smiled while laughing in response to the idea of shoving him inside of a locker. That would make her day. "Oh, please, you were allowing yourself to get distracted by that girl." She countered with the roll of the eyes and continued to eat her lunch. Of course, he was just joking, so she wasn't about to make a big deal about it. For the first time all day, she didn't want to look at the clock hanging up in the room. She didn't want any more time to pass on between them since she was having fun talking to him.

Silently, she ate her food and glanced over at him when he asked if the texting between them was in any way awkward. Sarah paused while placing down her fork, swallowing her food. "I mean.. I text my friends all the time late at night.. I don't see why this would be any different, right?" Sarah replied because she was trying to think of any reason for it not to be wrong. She didn't want it to be wrong. "I would say something if I was uncomfortable.. I think you know that by now." Seeing him lean a little closer, she could feel her heart rate picking up slightly. She could just smell the hint of the cologne that he was wearing as well, not wanting to back away.

    --

Lucas shrugged since he couldn't help her in that category; there was no way to reverse the clock to figure it out. Taking a drink of his water, he placed his collar back so that it would cover up the spots along his neck. The last thing he needed was for his father or a teacher to ask what happened. It was none of their business, especially since they didn't care in the first place. He glanced over at her, seeing that she was in deep thought about something. Lucas was convinced that she wasn't sharing the whole entire story with him about what had happened. He really doubted that he was the boy in the picture though. If anything had happened between Katherine and him, Lucas was sure that he would have remembered.

He leaned forward to look at the red marks along the side of her neck as well as the purple ones. It was crazy how much that guy had sucked on her neck. That guy really got in there. "Yeah, I can see that." He laughed dryly before taking another bite of his sandwich. Lucas wasn't really sure why she was sharing this with him either... Katherine just met him and he already knew some intimate things about her. "I don't think anyone would remember what happened to them if they did what you did to that keg." He pointed out with the shake of the head and finished up the sandwich with a sigh. She really knew how to get a party started. Lucas frowned suddenly since he remembered saying that before during the party when he was watching someone. It only stayed for a moment though before disappearing.
