It was a cold afternoon as Jane Cerberus made her way down the corridor. She pauses for a moment, tightening her robes and scarf around her petite body. Her eyes scan the crowd for best friend and partner in crime, Draco Malfoy. Although she didn't see him, she did find the pair of Fred Weasley and Amelia Thorne. She scowls, turning away from the people her and Draco couldn't stand. As she made her way to the Dining Hall, she couldn't help but feel that today would be different from the rest.

    -

Draco Malfoy fled down the corridor knowing that he was late in meeting his friend. He heaved a deep sigh, being careful to steer clear and send a glare to any Gryffindor that got in his way. Draco tried to find his way to the Dining Hall, knowing that Jane would be waiting for him there. Sadly, he ran into a tall boy with red mop of hair and a small girl with black hair. Fred Weasley and Amelia Thorne. He scowled and didn't bother apologizing as he pushed his way passed them and to the Slytherin table.

Fred had been indulged in a rather interesting conversation with Amelia - or, somewhat, anyways, since she was mostly just teasing him, as per usual. But it was interrupted by the pompous Malfoy and Fred couldn't help but glare after they were bumped into, watching the blonde git head to his table without even apologizing. "Did he really just do that?" he asked bitterly, though his tone was full of sarcasm at the same time. Regardless, he rolled his eyes and headed to the Gryffindor table.

    ~

"He did really just do that," Amelia drawled lazily, rolling her eyes slightly. "Oh well. It's Malfoy. He thinks he can do whatever he wants anyways." She shrugged slightly as they took their seats and it wasn't very long before George joined them, muttering something about losing them after class or something along the lines of that. Amelia, admittedly, wasn't as close to George as she was to Fred, but she still adored the twins either way.

Jane looked up at Draco, "It's about time you got your bloody arse down here! What took you so long?" Jane crossed her arms over chest, obviously not pleased with Draco.
"I ran into one of the filthy Weasleys on my way here." Draco spat, his voice full of hate, "It was one of the bloody twins. Stupid git didn't have half a mind to move out of the way. Sorry."
Jane heaved a sigh, "It's fine Draco. You've really got to learn to avoid those twats."
She understood why he was late, as he really did not like the Weasleys. She wasn't sure if it was because of them being know it all Gryffindors or just that there was so many of them. Whatever it was, she could almost understand. She had two of the prats in the same year as herself, and although they thought they were hilarious, she found them rather annoying.
She didn't hear Draco continuing to rant, until he waved a hand Infront of her face, "Hello?"
    -

Draco frowned, wondering why his friend had completely zoned out.
He waved one of his pale hands Infront of her face, "Hello? Jane? Are you still alive in there?"
She seemed to have snapped out of whatever had been going in her head, and turned to face him, "Sorry. I'm just a bit tired and classes are really laying down hard on me. What were you going on about?"
Draco frowned again before continuing his rant to her, but also keeping an eye on her.

(If you want, while the characters you type for are talking to each other, you don't have to separate them - sort of like this post, yeah? :) It might be easier that way.)

Fred watched as Amelia turned towards them, the girl crossing her legs - which was admittedly a feat when it came to sitting at tables like this. "I'll laugh my ass off if you fall on your ass doing that one of these days," he spoke with an amused smile, ignoring the way she flipped him off.
"Please, we both know that the only way I'm going to fall off this is if you push me off," Amelia pointed out, though when she reached his hand out as if to actually attempt it, she quickly stood up. "Hey!"
A chuckle escaped Fred and he shook his head, turning his attention back around to take in the features of everybody in the room. "Ugh, look, there's Malfoy and Caine."
Amelia followed his gaze before she offered a shrug. "Ignore them. They're probably gossiping about what lipstick goes best with Malfoy's features." She smirked slightly before she moved to sit back down.
"We should make this dinner interesting," Fred mused with a smirk as he glanced over at her.
The sudden idea caught Amelia's attention fairly quickly. "How so?"
The curiosity in her voice was more than hilarious. "Just wait until the right time and you'll see," was Fred's response.

    (Alright. That works c: )

Draco spotted Fred Weasley glancing in their direction and wondered why he was. He simply rolled his eyes and turned his attention back to Jane.
"What was the eye roll all about?" Jane asked, turning to see where his attention had been. Of course, it had to be on Fred Weasley and Amelia Thorne.
"Honestly Malfoy, you've really got to stop starring at them." Jane starts, "If I didn't know any better, I would say that your jealous."
It was often passed around that those two had been in a relationship, yet no one really had the proof, other than they were always somehow together.
Draco laughed at that, "Please. If I were to fancy anyone, it would be someone better than the likes of her."
Jane gave a short cackle, "Don't I know."

    (okay~)

"If this gets out of hand, I'm going to ram your face into a bucket of toads," Amelia said simply, though she still wasn't sure over what Fred's idea was. With the gleam in his eyes, though, she knew it couldn't be good.
Which usually meant that it would be pretty hilarious.
Fred rolled his eyes slightly to her words. "That has got to be the worst threat you've used to date," he muttered bluntly, causing her to smirk.
"I'm saving my best threats for jerks." Shrugging, she turned her attention to her food and when she glanced away, she took notice of the mischievousness in Fred's features. Then it clicked. "No, Fred, don't you dare start a foo-"
Before she could even get the words out, Fred had shot a spell over towards somebody else's food, making it throw itself at somebody else.
From there, things got hectic because everybody started throwing food, even though nobody had proof that anybody had actually thrown the food at the first person.

As the food fight started, Draco ducked under the table, pulling his some of his food with him. He made a noise, when food hit him in the face, before grabbing a hand full and throwing it at whomever he could spot. He moved to a different area underneath the tables and quietly hid.
No one could really see where he was, and he was happy that no one had noticed.
That's when a damned Ravenclaw saw him and began to inform them of his whereabouts. He gave a frustrated sigh and began to climb out of his spot and started pelting food at other students.

    -

Jane would not back out of this fight. She began to throw food at any one that crossed her path, even if they happened to be Slytherins. She held no mercy, throwing drinks and soups at people.
She then began to pelt people with the mashed potatoes and pieces of almost stale bread. She even managed to throw a couple at some of the Weasleys and that-know-it-all Granger.

Fred couldn't help but to laugh as he threw food. He didn't even care that some food occasionally landed on him. It was too much fun and he was enjoying every second of it. He smirked, making sure to concentrate his attention on most of the Slytherins.
Why start a food fight if you weren't going to attack your enemy house, after all?
A chuckle left his lips at the thought and he began throwing the food at a faster pace, mostly aiming for peoples' faces.

    ~

Amelia, on the other hand, had quickly climbed under the table to avoid being hit. She'd occasionally pop out to throw food at somebody that was close, but would quickly duck back under. Crawling on the floor wasn't exactly the smartest thing, but it helped her avoid most of the attacks - and she was making her way to the end of the table so that she could try to rush out of the Great Hall, too. When she got out from under the table at the end, she glanced around to see several people rushing out - mostly girls who didn't want to ruin their make-up.

Jane had a wicked smile spread across face, her eyes filled with a sinister glint. She had almost managed to hit Fred in the neck. Pleased, she turned glanced around the room to find Malfoy, when she felt something hit her in the back of the head. She spun around to find Draco, a innocent smile playing on his lips as he threw another handful, hitting her in the chest. She laughed and threw a handful potatoes his way.

    -

He started to run to the opposite of the room and away from Jane completely. He started through handfuls and handfuls of potatoes at Gryffindors, even managing to hit Harry in the ear. That's when Draco spotted Amelia. He used his wand to have a drink spill and coat her hair. He gave a proud smirk as it did, but turned around before she could determine who it was.

    -

Jane started to head in Dracos direction, her hands still covered in tiny buts of food. She knew she shouldn't have done it, but it was too late now and she ran towards him. Unfortunately, being the klutz that she was, she slipped over a spilled soup. She nearly fell when someone caught her.

    -

Draco was having the time of his life, and you could tell. His laughter wasn't forced and his eyes crinkled in delight. It was almost as if he was a different person. He spun around, still laughing, when someone crashed into his arms.

The hilarity of it all was too much for Fred to handle, a broad grin spreading across his face. He felt pretty proud of himself for managing to pull this off without anybody suspecting that he had started it. And, on top of that, everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves - which made everything all the better, even if the Slytherins were included in that group.
Before he really understood what was going on, though, he saw somebody slip. Instinctively, he reached out to catch the girl before realizing who it was and staring wide-eyed.
Had he seriously just helped a Slytherin? Not just any Slytherin, either. Malfoy's best friend.
    Great.

    ~

Amelia had almost debated on rushing out when she had felt the drink soak her hair. Clasping her hands in the air, she turned and glared, trying to figure out who had been stupid enough to do such a thing, but not spotting anybody. And when she turned back around, she ended up slipping on some of the drink that had slipped from her hair. A scream escaped her as she fell backwards and she quickly closed her eyes, but blinked when she landed against somebody instead.

Jane let our a sigh of relief, glad that she didn't fall face into the ground. She looked up, looking to thank her savior, when her green eyes met with blue. Her savior had been none other than Fred Weasley.
She stared up at him, not even attempting to move his slender arms from around her waist. He didn't either and he didn't show any signs of doing so, anytime soon. He just stared at her, his blue eyes wide and his mouth slightly hanging open.
After a moment more of intense staring, she pulled away from him, a light blush spreading across her face, muttering a quiet, "Thank you."
She than ran off again, being more careful and avoiding his following gaze.

    -

Draco left out a small 'oofmph' when a petite body had slammed into his own. He looked down at the person, seeing that it was none other than Amelia Thorne, friend to his enemy.
Although, he knew who she was, he didn't attempt to move, his eyes staring down into hers. After a couple of moments, he felt a slightly blush creep onto his cheeks as he steadied her, his eyes never leaving her. She finally pulled away, saying a quiet thank you, before taking off. What had just happened?

It took Fred a moment to realize that she had pulled away from him - a few moments more to realize she had run off and even longer to realize that his cheeks were so hot that they probably matched the color of his hair. Shaking his head to rid himself of that realization, he watched her leave, a huge part of him wanting to chase after her.
But what would happen if he did? What was he even thinking, wanting to go chasing after Malfoy's best friend, who clearly seemed to hate him?
But then he recalled the blush on her cheeks and it only encouraged him to make his way after her, doing his best to avoid getting attacked with food on the way. Of course, he hadn't managed to avoid all of the food, but he managed to avoid most of it.

    ~

Amelia wasn't fully aware of anything that had happened around her when she had realized who had caught her. On top of that, her eyes couldn't seem to leave the Slytherin boy. On top of that, her cheeks had warmed up when she realized that she couldn't tear her eyes away and it took her a moment to even come to her senses.
After mumbling a quick, quiet, "Thank you," once she was steadied, she rushed off, heading straight to the exit of the Great Hall, eyes on the ground - partially to watch where she walked and partially because she didn't want to glance back.
Cheeks still tinted, she let her hands move to them in hopes of covering the blush once she was out of the Great Hall and she let out a shaky breath.

Jane was extremely uncomfortable. She was wondering why her thoughts seemed to linger on the tall Weasley. She started to rush past everyone, muttering small apologizing to anyone she bumped into. Her heart was racing a thought of his arms around her waist, and him staring down at her. She have a frustrated noise, balling up her fist.

    -

He wasn't sure what it was, but he decided to chase after her. He wasn't even sure what he was doing, but he knew he wanted to. It must have been the way she blushed while he held her, or how gracefully she walked away.
So here he was, Draco Malfoy, chasing after Fred Weasleys best friend. In hopes of what? He didn't know, but he would like to find out.

Fred could see her bumping into people as she rushed past them and he had to pick up his pace so that he could at least keep his eyes on her in hopes of not losing her. It took him a bit, but he eventually caught up to her and before he really knew what he was doing, he reached his hand out and gripped at her elbow, tugging her gently back.
"Why are you running off?" he asked with an arched eyebrow.
Okay, he really wasn't in his best condition to deal with whatever this sudden feeling was, considering all the food over him. But he wanted to understand what was going on within himself.

    ~

Amelia rubbed at her cheeks, muttering frantic words to herself that she couldn't even understand. What was going on with her all of a sudden? Dropping her hands, she glanced around before making her way towards the staircases. Maybe if she could just get to the Gryffindor common room, she could sort out her thoughts.
Gripping firmly at the railing, she began the trek upwards but she was hardly paying attention.

When she felt a hand on her elbow, she was about to turn around and lash out at the person that grabbed her, when she saw that it was him. She felt
vulnerable under his gaze, weak almost. She then shook that off. Sure, she was a lot of things, but weak was not one of them.
"There was a food fight, and it was getting a bit too hectic for my liking."'she starts, lying smoothly, "I went to get Draco, when I spilled on a bit of spilled stew and I fell over."
She looked up at him, "What? Was my thank you not enough to please you?"

    -

It was hard to catch up to her, as she walked a semi slow pace.
He grabbed arm and pulled her off to the side. He could see that he was confused, but then again, so was he. Why was he even here? Why did he chase her?
He shook his head and asked, "What happened?"
Lame question, he knew, but he didn't want her to run away from him.

Fred took her features in, eyeing her carefully for a moment. "That's the only reason you ran off? You seemed to be trying to get away from me," he muttered quietly before moving to take a step closer to her, though he kept hold of her elbow gently, not really wanting her to try to rush off again.
"I don't care about your gratitude. I just..." He trailed off, trying to understand how to phrase what had happened in there.
Surely he wasn't the only one who felt all of that, right? Especially since she had been blushing - he had clearly seen that, he wasn't crazy.
    "Why were you blushing?"

    ~

Amelia felt her heart throbbing painfully in her chest. It wasn't that she was hurt by anything, but it was beating so rapidly, in her opinion, that it was hard to concentrate for her.
And when she realized that he had grabbed her arm and pulled her away, she stared at him blankly, trying to gather her thoughts. Her cheeks quickly flamed again, though, and she shook her head, raising her hands to cover her face.
"I don't know," she muttered quietly, trying to step away from him, though she wanted to know why he came after her. "Shouldn't you be in there throwing food at everybody like everybody else?"

She mentally slapped herself. He saw her blushing and surely he thought she liked him or something. I don't, she told herself quickly, but she was starting to think different. She honestly hadn't realized how physically attractive he was, but she had to remind herself that was still a Weasley, and that could mess things up for her friendship with Draco.
"Not the only reason. I was a bit embarrassed that I even fell in the first place," she lied again, "I was blushing because I'm a Slytherin. A sly,
cunning and deceiving Slytherin, and i slipped and fell into the arms of Gryffindor."
She wasn't certain if he would believe her this this time, but she wanted him to. Yet a small part of her wanted him not to.

    -

Draco frowned, "No, it was a bit hectic in there when I left. I was having fun, but I got distracted."
He looks at her carefully, trying to decide what to say next.
"I guess I was just curious, as to why you ran off and were blushing?"
He didn't want to scare her off, and hoped that a calm tone would have her stay.

Fred rubbed the back of his neck and glanced away with a sigh. "You know, I don't believe that at all," he said simply before looking back at her, arching an eyebrow as he watched her for a moment. "You don't really seem like the type to blush just because you got embarrassed."
He shrugged slowly, though he wondered if his words made any sense at all. So, he decided to elaborate.
"More so, you don't really seem like the type of girl to get embarrassed easily, especially over falling in the middle of a food fight." He let his hand drop from her elbow. "Why don't you tell me the truth?"

    ~

"I wasn't blushing!" Amelia quickly snapped, her hands dropping from her face as she glared at him, refusing to admit such a thing. Of course, she knew she had been blushing, but there was no way that she would give Draco the satisfaction of knowing that.
Because then Fred might find out. And he wouldn't want to be her friend anymore because she was supposed to hate Draco, not blush over him.
"I ran off to go take a shower. In case you haven't noticed, I'm covered in food and there's some kind of nasty drink all over my hair. I'd rather not have sticky hair the rest of the year."

Jane bit down her lip, crossing her arms over her chest. She looked at him, actually considering just telling him that she was embarrassed was staring at him and was perfectly fine with him keeping his arms around her. But ultimately decided not give him the pleasure of know. She took a step away from him, her lip trembling slightly, "What do you want from me Fred...?"
She looked into his eyes, wrapping her arms around her body. She was afraid that if Draco found out, she would lose his friendship. They had finally started getting close, and if he saw he right now, he would surely not forgive her.

    -

Draco held his hands up in defense, "Sorry. I was just asking."
He frowned, letting her arm go and crossing them behind his back.
He had seen her blush, - he knew he did, but yet, here she was, denying it.
Sure, he wasn't the most trustworthy person, but when it came to himself and his personal problems, he wasn't one to share.
Still, he knew why she was apprehensive, as her best friend was Fred Weasley. He was sure that if Fred found out, he would certainly not be her friend anymore. As he thought about it, he wondered what his best friend would say?
"Honestly though, what was the blushing about? You blushed and took off in the opposite direction." He sighed, glancing between her and the floor.
