The Blind Side

Jordan's eyes blinked open, she was laying in her bed. But she wasn't alone a paramedic stood over her. Her eyes show brightly down, sorrow seeped from her. Jordan huffed in a breath, it hurt to breathe but she knew that if she didn't want to go to the hospital there was no telling how long she'd be stuck there. "No." She said when they tried to move her. "No." She said louder this time, her head turning to her aunt, her eyes pleading with her. "Stop." Her aunt said, "back away." She instructed the paramedics. "She'll be fine." Her body was only bruised here and there, she'd suffered no really damage. Daton girls were stronger than they looked.

Jace's head popped up, his eyes quickly finding hers. "It would, but then again you're suppose to be in trouble." He told her. "Not be rewarded." He said, he knew he was the one getting rewarded but he had a feeling that if the bars weren't between them it wouldn't stop there.

Hearing Jordan starting to yell at the paramedics, Christian rushed over to see what the problem was. It seemed like she wasn't comfortable going off with them. "Jordan, they're here to help you." He tried to reason with her but her aunt seemed to agree that she shouldn't go. The paramedics looked over at each with a mutual shrug before walking away. They couldn't treat her if she verbally refused to be helped. "How are you feeling? Can you stand?" He quickly asked her out of concern, kneeling down at her side. The chief walked inside to figure out what had happened with the situation since it didn't seem like a crime scene. Swallowing, Christian moved over to address him and explained what had happened just the way that Mr. Daton told him to do. "I'm sorry for wasting your time, Chief."

Trinity raised an eyebrow at his comment since she was being punished for her crimes and not being rewarded at all. All she was simply doing was massaging his back to relieve the tension. "Sir, I'm not thinking like that. I just really wanted to get in there and get everything." She innocently fluttered her eyelashes with a sweet smile.

Jordan stared at Christian, remembering that her aunt had to put a shirt on her. Shifting she pulled her hair up, she knew that there was bruises all over her body. "I need a shower." She told her aunt, she wanted to get the blood off of her and wash away the nights events.

Jace smiled at her before shaking his head. "I'll take a rain check on that." He told her, "maybe when you're not under arrest." He informed her. He didn't know why but all of a sudden he felt like a target, like she was trying to use him for some unknown reason.

The Chief didn't seem to be very forgiving of his action and immediately turned on his feet to get back home. With a sigh, Christian watched as everyone started to leave the house until it was just him and the Daton family left. "Mr. Daton. Mrs. Daton. Do you mind if wait for Jordan? I want to make sure that she's alright." He requested even though he knew that it must have been a long night for the poor girl. Christian just couldn't find it within himself to simply walk out of the house as if nothing had happened.

"Aww, that's too bad." She frowned slightly since this wasn't going according to plan. There had to be another way to get to his heart.. eventually. Trinity continued to work out all the kinks in his shoulders and back. "You're all good to go." She finished up with a light tap on the back. Hobbling back to her cot, she sat back down with a sigh.

Jordan sat in the shower, her knees pulled to her chest. It she couldn't believe he'd found her. She knew that he had to have followed her or tracked her phone. Sniffling she stood washing her body. She didn't even want to look at the damaged done. The last time this happened she was covered in bruises for over a month. Wrapping a towel around her body she stepped from her bathroom. Stopping in her tracks, noticing Christian standing in her room. Biting her lip she clutched her towel, not wanting to deal with any of the uncertain of life right now, mix feeling or any of that. Moving to her suit case she grabbed a silk nighty, pulling it on over her towel.

Jace watched her move to her cot, sighing he turned and walked back to his desk. It was policy that no prisoners were left unattended. So it looked like he'd be sleeping on the cot in his and Christian's office.

Hearing the door open, Christian stood from the chair to address her, but cleared his throat when he saw her in just a towel. He dropped his gaze down to the floor and quickly apologized for seeing her in that state. She seemed.. detached and emotionless. "I wanted to make sure that you were.. okay. I mean, I know you can't be okay after that but.." He scratched the back of his head unsure of how to phrase it. Christian glanced back up to see that she had slid on her silk robe and returned his eyes back to her face. "I'm glad that I stopped him before he got to you. He almost.. raped you, Jordan." He frowned to himself just at the mere thought.

Staring at the ceiling of the cell, she groaned because having a metal slate digging into her side wasn't comfortable at all. Trinity held her hands up into the air and flexed her hands still remembering the warmth of his back against her hands.

Jordan looked up at him, her eyes swollen from her tears. She moved towards him dropping her towel as she moved. Once she was standing in front of him, she rested her head against his chest. She would have wrapped her arms but they just felt so heavy. "Thank you," She whispered, her eyes closing, not even wanting to think of what would have happened had he not have shown up.

Jace pulled his shirt off before laying down on the cot, they really couldn't say shit to him. He wasn't even suppose to be here Christian was but since he'd slept in this morning he had no problem staying with her.

When her eyes finally met his, he could see how emotional distraught she had been from the attack. Christian wanted to pull her into his arms but restrained himself, knowing that she probably didn't want to be touched. That is when she moved closer to lean her head against his chest. He couldn't stop himself from securely wrapping his arms around her then. "It's no problem, Jordan." He responded responded back since he truly was grateful that he had seen the shadow while driving back.

After about an hour of tossing and turning, she started to pace around the cell while hearing her footsteps echoing throughout the building. This felt like complete torture, just being confined to this tiny space. Crossing her arms over her chest, she continued to move around restlessly.

Jordan huffed out a sigh, her hands slowly moving up to grasp his shirt. The fabric finely pressed actually felt soft and welcoming. Closing her eyes she cuddled closer to him, feeling safe and warm in his embrace. Though at what cost, she had no idea what happened after she'd been knocked unconscious. "Where is he?" She asked her voice barely a whisper. She didn't know if she wanted to know or not, but something in her said that she needed to put this to bed. And if he really was gone for good then finally she could move on with her life.

Jace had slowly drifted off to sleep, he really wasn't all that tired just bored out of his mind. About an hour into his slumber he started to stir, groaning he sat up. Looking around he decided to go check on her, she should be a sleep by now. "You'd don't sleep much do you?" He asked leaning against the door frame. His eyes taking in her pacing figure.

Slowly, he felt her arms come up to grasp a hold of his shirt. Christian used one hand to gently rub her back because he knew that it still must be bruised from all the beating. He still couldn't get the imagine of the man beating her outside of his head. It made him sick to his stomach. When he heard her question, he looked down at her while pausing for a moment. "..He's. He's gone, Jordan." Christian finally admitted, knowing it would bring her some peace of mind that she needed.

Trinity continued to pace around until she finally heard the cop's voice just outside her cell, making her jump. At least her ankle was feeling better. "You scared me." She admitted with a sigh and turned to take in his shirtless form. Clearing her throat, she attempted to be unaffected by it. It was obvious that she was no actress. "Well, you try sleeping on a slab of metal." She pointed out while glancing towards her cot.

Jordan felt like her whole body relaxed, a soft smile came over her lips. He was gone. She didn't have to be afraid any more. Tipping her head up she looked up at him, taking in his features. A soft blush caressed her cheeks when he looked down at her. "I can never thank you enough." She told him honestly, he had not only saved her from being raped but this ever happening again.

Jace smirked at her, "would you be surprised if I say I have?" He teased her, before moving to her cell door. "Come here." He told her opening it. He hadn't realized they'd changed the bed in this cell. "Go in there." He told her nodding to a different one, one that actually had a mattress on the cot.

Christian felt her body relax in his arms, which made him feel even more relieved. It was horrible to think about, but maybe it was best that the son of a bitch was dead. Tucking a lose strand of hair behind her ear, he offered a small smile. "It's alright. I'm just glad that you're safe and that's enough for me." He told her since she was making it seem like he was a hero. All he really did was place a bullet in his leg and then in his chest.

Trinity smiled when he unlocked the cell because it was driving her crazy being inside of that confined space. When she walked over to the room, she couldn't help but brush past him on purpose and then entered inside of the new cell. "It's kind of cold in here." She commented while rubbing her arms and sitting down on the new cot. It was definitely more comfy than the other one.

Jordan offered him a soft smile, she didn't know if his words hurt her or disappointed her. Some reason she felt there was something more behind him being there to save her. Now he just made it seem like it was his job, an ever other day kind of thing.

Jace closed his eyes briefly feeling her brush past him. Nearly panting he turned to her, frowning. This girl complained to much. "Be right back." He muttered, not bothering to close the cell, he walked to the closet at the end of the room. Opening it he pulled out a blanket before moving back to her cell.

"Do you think that you're going to be able to sleep? Do you want me to stay with you?" Christian knew that his offers were now starting to extend past his original duties, but he couldn't help it. The idea of leaving her all alone.. He couldn't fathom it. Christian ran a hand through her hair, hoping that it would soothe her further.

She couldn't help the small smirk that formed on her face since she was starting to pester him. It was fun to mess with the officer but that wasn't her mission. Stepping forward, she took the blanket into her hands and brushed her hand against his. "Wow, you're really warm." She reached out to place her hand on top of his heart, feeling the steady beat.

Jordan felt a little taken back by his offer, but then she thought about it. And she really didn't want to be left alone. "Please." She whispered out, breathy, almost unheard. She didn't want to leave his warm embrace.

Jace's eyes darkened as her hand found his shirtless chest. Closing his eyes, he heaved a sigh. Before taking her hand off his chest. "You know you are a very confusing woman." He told her slowly dropping her hand.

Christian hoped that she wouldn't take his offer the wrong way, because he just wanted to help out. Smiling down at her, he let the silence take over for a moment before speaking,"Okay. Let's sit down on the couch then." He led her over to the couch and sat down, taking her into his arms.

"Care to explain what you mean by that?" She asked with a small raise of the eyebrow. Even though he took her hand off of his chest, he was still holding onto it and she liked it. Trinity hadn't been lying about him being warm though. That was completely true.

Jordan offered him a soft weak smile, before crawling onto his lap. Granted it made her feel a little uneasy but then again she remember he was the one that saved her. Laying her head down on his chest, letting her eyes close. Frowning she squirmed a bit before looking down to see what was was digging into her hip. "Take it off." She demanded before pulling at his belt.

Jace sighed, "you're so up and down." He told her, "even though I was joking you made it out to sound like you weren't easy." He told her, stopping himself. Carefully thinking over the next couple of words. "But now you seem to be throwing yourself at me." He knew what she was doing, though he wasn't falling for it.

He closed his eyes to relax but he could feel Jordan squirming around on his lap. Opening his eyes again, she could see that she wasn't comfortable. "Sorry.." He quickly apologized after clearing his throat since he hadn't expected her to say that. Christian reached for his belt and pulled it off, leaving it on the coffee table. "Are you alright now?" He asked while settling back onto the couch with an arm wrapped around her. Knowing that she was just in a robe, he took in a deep breath to calm himself down.

Trinity gave a small shrug since she could see why he would say something like that. "Don't mistake flirting and asking for it. If I wanted it, it would've happened by now." She differentiated with a smirk before pulling her hand out of his grasp. Holding up the blanket, she sat back down on the cot,"Thanks for the blanket."

Jordan smiled, before cuddling into his chest. " 'm fine." She murmured out, his warm embraced lulling to her. A soft yawn escaped her, before she shifted resting her head in the crook of his neck, her nose brushing across his skin. Inhaling his fresh clean scent.

Jace scoffed rolling his eyes, before slamming the cell door shut. "There is a huge difference between flirting and teasing." He told her, before he shook his head, then slowly wandering off towards his office.

Christian leaned his head back against the couch, trying to remember to take big breaths like he had said before. He was here to help her out. She really needed him and he wasn't about to let his nature scare her away. Swallowing, he felt her nose brush against his neck. "O-Okay, good night, Jordan." He murmured to her.

Laying down on the cot, she turned onto her side and closed her eyes. She shifted the blanket a little bit, but this cot was definitely better than the other one. Trinity felt a small frown cross her features after a moment. Why the heck was the cop half naked? Didn't they have some sort of dress code?
