Brian frowned as he listened to Katherine. He felt so bad for her. Brian couldn't imagine being in her shoes. "I'm so sorry, Katherine. I know your parents didn't want this for you," he said softly. He sighed heavily when she asked for him to tell her about Gemma, not even knowing where to begin. "Gemma is just... I don't even know. She goes against every rule someone gives her or does something she knows she shouldn't just because her curiosity gets the better of her. She's not a bad person, just a curious one I guess. She can get a bit of a temper sometimes though and she's mean as hell to me often. But we grew up together," Brian said with a shrug. There really wasn't much else he could think about telling her that would effect things for her up on the surface.

Gemma groaned, leaning more into his kiss when she felt it. That was a rather nice way to wake up in the morning. She still didn't open her eyes though since they felt stuck and she wasn't really ready to wake up yet. She grunted in surprise when he lifted one of her eyes open, moving her eye around before settling it on him. "It was stuck, I couldn't open it," she said, furrowing her brow. How could people live in such dry air like this. She was starting to feel really dry and she wanted to go swim. "Are those for me? She gasped, seeing the flowers he was holding in his other hand. She had no idea what they were but they sure were pretty. She sat up, moving herself onto his lap and taking the flowers from him, sniffing them. They sure did smell nice. "Oh they smell so good."

Katherine nodded her head as she listened to him. "I just have a bad feeling she's going to cause trouble for me on the surface," she said, shaking her head. "I can't believe she'd ever be mean to you, though. It just doesn't make sense. You're such a nice guy." She looked at him, smiling. "You know, I might not know you that well, but I do know you deserve better than that." She let out a sigh and stood up. "Come on, let's get out of here. I want to explore the world I come from." She wanted to see all the things she should have seen growing up. She wanted to know what everything was like where she really came from. And she wanted him to come with her. For one, so she wouldn't get lost, and two, because he was good company.

Matt sat up, chuckling softly. "I'm glad you like them," he said. "I know they're your favorite." He stood up, smiling. "Get dressed. I'll go ask your mom for a vase." He leaned down and pecked her lips before he walked out of her bedroom, going downstairs to ask her mom for a vase. She grabbed him one and filled it with water. He thanked her before making his way back upstairs. He was thinking about taking Katherine out for a nice dinner tonight. Something kind of fancy. He didn't know why, but he just felt like treating her to something nice. He walked back into her room, seeing she'd gotten up. He grabbed the flowers and put them into the vase, walking up behind her and sliding his arms around her. He smiled, leaning down and kissing her neck. "You're so beautiful, you know that?"

"I wouldn't worry too much. People just might think you're on something for a while," he said with an uneasy chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck. Brian always went up to the surface, he had friends and even though Katherine didn't know it, he kind of already knew her too. He was friends with her boyfriend, so he'd seen her a few times. "It's just how we are. I give her the same treatment though, so it's okay." Brian gave her a nod at the suggestion of going exploring, deciding that he wanted to show her around town and how things worked in their world. "Let's go to the market. You'll love the shops," he said as he took her hand, leading her out of the house. He gave Bubs a pat as he passed by him, not really needing to take him since the market was right down the street, if you wanted to call it that. It was bright and colorful and full of great things that usually sink down to the bottom of the ocean.

Gemma got up and got dressed in something a lot more presentable than what she dressed in yesterday. She spent hours practicing putting on on a bra and looking in these picture books with women and how they dressed. So she was able to put something together that didn't actually look half bad. She put her hair up in something that was called a bun, though she did pretty horrible at it compared to the girl in the picture but she still thought it looked good. Gemma smiled when she felt Matt's wrap around her from behind, leaning into him. She felt her whole face heat up when he called her beautiful, something she didn't hear very often. Brian wasn't one for compliments with her. "No, i didn't. Thank you for telling me," she said, turning her head so she could get a better look at him. He was gorgeous. Katherine was so lucky to have a boyfriend like him. Good looking and a total sweet heart.

Katherine followed him, sure he was right. She was sure she'd love it. She already loved everything about being down here. Although, it was weird to constantly be wet. And it was an even weirder experience to be breathing underwater without the sensation of drowning, or to feel her eyes burning from the water touching them. It was all strange, but she was sure she'd get used to it. She wasn't sure how long Gemma wanted to keep this little ruse up, but she figured it would be for at least a week, right? She followed Brian to the shops, her eyes lighting up. "Oh my gosh," she murmured. "It's so beautiful." She let go of his hand and swam over, looking at all the things people had displayed on tables. There were so many things she was sure none of these people knew were, and she just wanted to tell them all about everything.

Matt chuckled, shaking his head. He leaned down and kissed her lips softly. "You're welcome," he said, pulling away and taking her hand. He led her downstairs and out the door to his car, smiling over at her. "So, I was thinking we could hang out on the beach all day, and then go to dinner tonight. You game?" She already had one of her bikinis and a towel in his car, so she didn't need to pack anything extra. They often left things at each other's houses, or she left stuff in his car a lot. That was just the way they were. And he didn't mind it. He knew she didn't either. It was just one of those comfortable boyfriend/girlfriend things.

Brian chuckled as he watched Katherine, loving her reactions to everything. She was so much different than Genma. For two people who were identical in DNA, personality wise they were nothing alike. It was sort of a breath of fresh water for Brian. He followed her around the market, pointing out different things at different shops for her to see. Things really were beautiful down here, despite the occasional trash that floated down from the surface. But they tried to keep it as clean as they possibly could to preserve the beauty of their community. Brian saved looked at a few shops himself, since there was always new stuff being added. Everyone loved the stuff that they found that was human related.

Gemma grinned excitedly and nodded, taking his hand and dragging him out to his car. She hopped in, glad she had done her research on these bad boys last night too. She couldn't believe she was finally going to be able to ride in a car. This was like her number one goal while she was up here. When Matt got in she bounced exitedly in her seat, her eyes widening when he started the car. She giggled, leaning over and placing a few kisses along his neck. She also watched a lot of porn last night too, and learned about her body. Needless to say, Gemma hadn't gotten much sleep last night. She didn't want to have a repeat of yesterday and look like a dumb airhead.

Katherine spotted a seashell hair clip sitting on a nearby table, swimming over to it and picking it up. This was hers. Matt had given it to her last year for her birthday and it had fallen out of her hair when they went into the ocean. They waited for it to wash up on shore, but it never did, and she'd hated herself for losing it ever since then. But here it was, and it was still as beautiful as the day she first got it. She looked up at the vendor, biting her lip hard. "How much for this?" she asked. She didn't know what kind of currency they used down here, and she didn't even have any of it, but she wanted this. It was special to her, and she wasn't willing to let anyone else have it. "I-I don't have money, but I could work for you or something. I just really want this."

Matt raised an eyebrow at how goofy she was acting. It was like she was suddenly high on life or something. He bit his lip and looked down at her, chuckling. "Are you sure you're okay, Kat?" he asked as he started the car. He backed out of the driveway and began driving to the beach. It wasn't a very far walk from her house as it was, but he knew she'd want to change in the back of his car, so he figured he might as well drive. "You seem different the past two days. I don't know what it is, but you just seem . . . happier? I don't know. Did something happen that you're not telling me about?" Maybe he shouldn't be questioning why she seemed so happy, maybe he should just accept it. But he couldn't help his curiosity.

Brian saw Katherine clutching something in her hands, furrowing his brow. He swam over to her, looking at what she had in her hands and listening to the conversation between her and the vendor. Brian smiled pulling out some sand dollars from the sack that he had hanging around his waist. He knew that Katherine didn't have the money and he didn't want her to end up having a debt to one of the vendors, that was definitely never a good thing. Brian swam away from the vendor with Kathrine, looking at the odd thing in her hand. "What's that? Do you really like it or is it something special?" He asked, crossing his arms over his chest. It was rather pretty. It looked like something that maybe you hook onto something. But he just wasn't really sure.

Gemma blinked, furrowing her brow together. Was Katherine not a happy person? She sounded like a major buzz kill. "Am I not happy all the time?" She asked as she slumped back in her seat. "Do you not like me this way? You probably don't. I'm sorry," she said with a heavy sigh, running her fingers through her hair. Gemma got out of the car once he pulled up at the beach, climbing into the back to change into her bathing suit. She had planned to do more of what they had done yesterday, but now she was just in a bummed mood. Her and Katherine had two completely different personalities. She sounded like a complete sour puss the more she learned about her and that made Gemma sad.

Katherine looked up at Brian. "You didn't have to do that," she said, looking back down at the clip. She reached up and pinned her hair back with it. "My boyfriend gave it to me last year for my birthday. I lost it in the ocean while we were swimming, and I could never find it." She looked up at him and smiled, leaning forward and pressing a small kiss to his cheek. "Thank you so much. It was really special to me. I've always had a thing for shells. I collect them all the time, whenever we go to the beach. It broke my heart when I lost this." She really didn't know how she could repay him for buying this for her. Maybe she could take him up on land and show him around in return. But she would have to find a way to avoid Matt at all costs.

Matt frowned. He got out and opened the back door, climbing in with her. He grabbed her arms to stop her, making her look up at him. "Hey, don't say that. It's not that you're not happy. I know you're not unhappy. It's just . . . usually you're more uptight, you know. You're never this free-spirited. I honestly never thought you were going to give yourself to me. I was starting to think you didn't feel the same way anymore," he said. He leaned forward and kissed her lips softly, slipping his arms around her waist. "But I know now that I was wrong. I guess I was just overthinking it, you know? And I'm sorry if I upset you. I didn't mean to. I was just kind of surprised at how giddy you were, I guess."

Brian almost wanted to make a face at the mention of her boyfriend having gotten that for her. But he did his best at holding back from doing so. "You're welcome, I'm glad you were able to find it and I was able to get it for you. It's always nice to find something special you've been missing," he said with a small smile. He bit down on his bottom lip when she kissed his cheek, his small bit of jealously growing a little more. What was wrong with him? Her fucking sister was his girlfriend. But they were so much different and he just didn't know what was going on in his head. She had the looks of Gemma but a whole entire different personality.

Gemma scrunched up her face. "Uptight? Geez," she said, beginning to wonder how her and Katherine came out of the same woumb. Gemma sighed, smiling at him. He was such a sweet guy. How did he put up with such a bitch like Katherine? So far that was the impression she was getting. Gemma climbed into his lap, running her fingers through his short hair as she looked into his eyes. "I'm sorry I'm so uptight and a party pooper. I'm so glad I finally gave myself to you. You deserved it, we deserved it," she murmured, kissing him slow and passionately. She wasn't sure if she could actually tell him that she loved him or not. This wasn't her boyfriend but man, Katherine was going to fucking kill her when she found out about them having sex.

Katherine nodded her head in agreement. She looked around at the market again before turning her attention back on him. "What other cool places are there to see?" she asked. "I always imagined what an underwater world would look like. I always imagined a bunch of ruins and cool little caves and things. I love exploring." Before he could answer, a little fish swam towards her, and around her head. Her eyes lit up as she watched the fish swim around her. "Oh my gosh." She reached up and held her hand out, grinning when it sat in her palm. She brought it to her face and looked at it. "It's so beautiful." She didn't know what kind of fish it was, but it was beautiful, and it instantly made her feel bad for liking seafood. She wasn't sure if she would be able to eat fish ever again.

Matt kissed her back, smiling against her lips. He pulled back after a moment and pecked her lips. "Alright. Finish getting dressed," he said, climbing out of the back and shutting the door quickly. He was already wearing his trunks, so he didn't need to change. He opened the trunk of the car and took out the towels, as well as the bottle of suntan lotion. He leaned against the car as he waited for her to finish changing, staring out at the ocean. He just didn't know what it was, but something was off with her. At least it didn't seem that it was off in a bad way. She seemed okay, but there was just something different. And he was curious about it. But he was afraid to ask. He didn't want to upset her or anything. Especially not after how close they seemed to be getting now.

Brian was about to name off a huge list of things to do when a little fish came to play, chuckling as he watched the scene in front of him. He thought her reaction to the fish was just priceless and adorable. "It's a cute fish, isn't it?" He asked, reaching over and running his finger along its fin. It a colorful fish too, which were Brian's favorite. "Gemma always wanted a pet fish. Kind of like a dog on the surface. But her parents wouldn't ever let her have one, they didn't think it was right. Dolphins on the other hand are a completely different story, they don't mind being attached to you. They love us," he explained, biting down on his bottom lip. Brian watched as the little fish swam off, frowning a little. "We can go explore some sunken ships? We have to be careful of sharks though. Well anywhere past the village we have to be careful of sharks. Or, we can go up to the surface and take a peek at what's going on at the beach."

Gemma quickly changed into her bathing suit, climbing out of the car a few minutes later. She stretched, taking a deep breath in of the fresh ocean air. "I love that smell," she said before grabbing Matt's hand and taking off down to the beach. She laughed like a maniac, probably more excited than she should be to get in the water. Since there wasn't a full moon or anything and it was day time she figured she'd be okay with getting in the water. Gemma made Matt thrown his stuff down, laying out her towels as she wiggled he toes in the hot sand. She couldn't get over how hot this sand was. It was just amazing. She took off towards the water, stopping right at the edge and letting the waves roll onto her feet. Gemma let out a content sigh, lifting her face up to the sky. She didn't think she ever wanted to go back into the ocean as long as she could have moments like this.

Katherine nodded her head, watching the fish swim away. She looked at him and nodded her head. "Actually, yeah. Let's go to the surface. I could use a bit of air," she said. She took his hand and began swimming up to the surface, heading for the pier. When they got there, she came up under the pier and looked at him, smiling. "How many times have you been on land?" she asked curiously, leading him over towards the rocks. She placed her hands on a rock and lifted herself up, looking over the beach. She could have sworn she spotted Gemma, and she was quickly reassured that she had when Matt came up behind her. She quickly slipped off the rock, grunting as she fell back into Brian. She couldn't let Matt see her. He would freak out if he knew that Gemma wasn't actually her.

Matt smiled, shaking his head. He watched as she went to the water, biting his lip. Katherine had always been drawn to the water. He didn't know what it was, but there was something about water that she loved. She loved swimming, loved turning into a little prune. He didn't mind, though, if it made her happy and she enjoyed it. He walked up behind her and slid his arms around her waist, leaning his head on her shoulder. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" he asked, looking out over the ocean. "Sometimes I feel like I could just live out there, on the ocean. I mean, I would have to come back every now and then, you know? But I think I could definitely live on the ocean."

Brian followed Katherine right up to the surface, finding it kind of funny that she could use some air. He looked around, grabbing ahold of the rock that she was pulling herself onto. She didn't really seem to have that much of a problem in doing so considering everyone else, everyone meaning Gemma, had the toughest time in the world. "I go to the surface quite often actually. I like to check things out and hangout with some friends that I have up here. We've got a band that I occasionally take place in whenever I'm around," he said, his eyes scanning the beach for people. "That's actually one of them right there, that guy with that girl. I can't miss that guy anywhere," he said with a laugh. The more Brian looked though, the more he realized who the girl was that Matt was holding. "Is that.... is that Gemma?" He asked, furrowing his brow. The next thing he knew thought Katherine was slipping off the rock and right into him, sending them both back into the water. "Woah, are you okay?" He asked as he looked over her, wanting to make sure that she hadn't cut herself anywhere on the rock. That would definitely not be good.

Gemma stared out at the sea, furrowing her brow as she saw something move over by a rock. She saw one head and then another, making her eyes grow to the size of saucers. She knew exactly who it was and Gemma wasn't sure what to do now. She actually wanted to go and talk to Katherine, but there was no way she could do that with Matt right up her butt. Gemma smiled as Matt came up and wrapped his arms around her, leaning back into him and placing her hands on his. She gave him a small kiss on his temple, almost forgetting that she was being watched. Surely Katherine was doing these things with Brian since she was supposed to be playing the same roll, but Brian wasn't anywhere near this affectionate. "Let's play a game," she said as she turned in his arms. "Hide and go seek. I hide, you seek. Winner strips, loser gets to give winner oral. Sound good? Great," she said, taking his hands and putting it over her his eyes. "Count to one hundred slowly. Then come find me." Jenna took off towards the pier where her and Katherine first met, hoping maybe she'd be there to talk to her. "Katherine!" She called out in the best whisper yell she could as she climbed onto the rocks.

Katherine looked at Brian with wide eyes. "That was Gemma, with Matt. My boyfriend," she said. "He-he can't find out about this. He would freak out." She heard someone calling her name, looking back up at the pier. She took his hand and pulled him towards the pier. "Gemma!" She waved her arm at her sister, calling her over. She was half tempted to ask to just switch back because now she was even more nervous about Matt finding out she'd done a switcheroo on him. She was so afraid he'd hate her, and she didn't want that. If there wasn't anyone else on the pier, she'd hoist herself up on a rock, but she didn't want anyone to see her tail. That wouldn't be good. Plus, she was topless and the only thing covering her breasts was her hair.

Matt's brows furrowed as he pulled his hands down and watched Katherine walk away. What in the actual fuck? He was so confused. Why was she acting so weird? He followed her over to the pier, not really wanting to play this little game. He just wanted to find out what was wrong. His brows furrowed in confusion once again when he heard her calling her name out. What on earth was she doing? He heard someone shout back at her and he glanced over, his eyes widening at what he saw. A girl, who looked just like Katherine, in the water, with another boy. He had to do a double take, because he was sure he was seeing things. He walked up to Katherine and placed his hand on her shoulder. "What the fuck is going on?" he hissed.

Brian furrowed his brow, sighing heavily. He knew that there was about to be a big mess on their hands, especially when Katherine decided to go back to see Gemma. "Couldn't you guys do this in the dark or something? Someone could see you," Brian said, starting to get a bit anxious. He wasn't one for coming to the surface and getting to close to humans. Even if it was Gemma she was going to talk to. But the closer she got to the pier, Brian realized that someone was walking towards Gemma. "Oh shit," he said, quickly swimming over to Katherine. "Someone's coming." But it was too late, he was already there and looking straight down at them. Brian gave him a weak smile and a small wave, sinking down further into the water. Gemma was totally going to fuck this up. He just knew it.

Gemma smiled big when she saw Katherine, waving at her and calling her out name to come over to where she was at the pier. "Hey!" She said, bouncing up and down. Her excitement was cut short though when she felt a hand on her shoulder and that familiar sweet and raspy voice hit her ear. She was so screwed. She didn't even want to turn around to see the look on his face. The one on Katherine's said enough. Gemma swallowed the lump in her throat as she slowly turned around, giving him a weak smile. "U-Um... well you see... I found out I had a twin sister, didn't I tell you? She's out for a swim with her boyfriend right now, I just wanted it to be a surprise when I introduced you to her. She's just a little special. I wasn't sure how you'd react to her," she said quickly, rocking back and forth on the balls of her feet as she looked between Katherine and Matt. Genma was really confused as to why Brian was here. Did he know what was going on? It wouldn't surprise her if he did.

Katherine's eyes widened when she saw Matt, biting her lip gently. Should she let this keep playing out or should she just come clean? She wasn't ready to go home yet. And there was no harm in letting Matt think Gemma was her for a while longer. She raised her hand and waved, smiling at him. "Hi, I'm Gemma," she said. "This is Brian, my boyfriend." She leaned over and pressed her lips to Brian's, raising her eyebrows as she pulled away, staring at him. She had felt something she'd never felt before while kissing Matt. It made her body tingle all over, and it gave her butterflies in her stomach. She cleared her throat and looked back at Gemma and Matt. "It's nice to meet you." She hoped she didn't upset Gemma by kissing Brian, but it had looked like Matt and Gemma were getting a little close, so she shouldn't be too upset.

Matt stared at the girl in the water, and then back at Katherine. This was insane. He must be dreaming. "I, uh, need a moment," he muttered, turning and walking back down the pier. He made his way back to the car, rubbing his face. He reached down and pinched his arm hard, cursing. He definitely wasn't dreaming. He was awake. But why wouldn't Katherine have told him about this if it were true? She told him everything. It just didn't make sense. He wasn't sure what to think, to be honest. But he guessed he should be happy for her. She had a sister, which she seemed to be happy about as far as he could tell. So he guessed maybe he should put his confusion aside for now and just be happy for her. That's what a good boyfriend would do.

Brian was shocked that Katherine had kissed him. He kissed her back, wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her close, deepening the kiss. He didn't even care that Gemma was standing right there watching him. He was sure that she was probably getting pretty cozy with Katherine's boyfriend anyways. Brian licked over his lips as he thought about that electrifying kiss. Jesus that was amazing. "Well," he said as he cleared his throat, looking between the two girls as the other man walked away. "That went well, didn't it?" He said with a smirk, chuckling a bit. At least the other man didn't see extremely pissed off, just really confused. Just like Brian kind of was when he first found out.

Gemma frowned as she watched Matt leave, figuring she'd just give him some space for now. She plopped down at the end of the pier, sighing heavily as she looked between the two in the water. "So, he knows I'm guessing?" She asked, rolling her eyes. "Of course he does, nothing slips past him. "Anyways, how are things? Do you like it down there? It's beautiful isn't it?" She said with a big smile. She really hoped that Katherine was having a good time down there. "Do you like mom and dad? They're pretty cool sometimes," she said with a small giggle. "But honestly, Katherine, I should hurt you for throwing me up here without s freaking clue in the world as to what I'm doing. At least humans do research on the sea. You should have seen what I looked like yesterday!" She said with her eyes wide, shaking her head.

Katherine bit her lip and smiled slightly. "I love it down here, everything is so beautiful, and Mom and Dad are amazing. I love them so much," she said. "I just wish they knew the truth. I want to get to know them as me, not you." She looked over at Brian. "Yeah, he knows. And now Matt knows. Please go easy on him. I know it doesn't look like it, but he can be very sensitive." She let out a small giggle and shook her head at Gemma's words. "I'm sorry. I guess I could have taught you some more. But I figured you were smart enough to figure it out on your own. You just have to apply yourself, Gemma. Take control of your life, you know?" She swam over and took her sister's hand, squeezing it. "You can be anyone you want to be. You know, just don't take over my life."

Matt finally calmed down after a moment and decided to go gather their things off the beach before they got stolen. Once he did that, he made his way back to the pier, figuring he should be there to support Katherine. When he spotted them, he smiled when he saw Gemma holding Katherine's hand. He walked over and sat beside Katherine on the end of the pier, leaning over and kissing her lips softly. "You guys should come out of the water and come hang out with us. We can all get to know each other." He looked over at Gemma, surprised to see the look of anger and hurt on her face. It was just like the one Katherine got when she got hurt or upset.

Brian looked between the two, honestly wanting to reach up and grab Jenna by the shoulders and drag her back down into the water. "You know I'm so pissed that you two did this. I've told you time and time again about going up to the surface. But at least something good came out of it," he said as he sighed heavily. Brian looked up and down the beach, looking for any onlookers that might spot them. He was still pretty nervous about being over here. He didn't need Matt or any other person getting really nosey and finding out about their tails. "We need to go soon," he said to Katherine, moving closer to her. Brian watched as the other man came down to the pier, sitting next to Gemma and kissing her. For some reason Brian wasn't jealous. Maybe he didn't feel that way towards Gemma like he thought because he never got the chance to be with anyone else.

Gemma smiled brightly, so glad to hear it. "Eventually, when you're ready, I'll come down and we can tell mom and dad together," she said as she bit her lip. "I'm not going to over run your life. But there is something I need to tell you and I know I really messed up and I didn't know how much it meant to people and I'm so sorry. Thats why I think we should tell Matt that we switched," she said as she started to panic, just wanting to spill her guts out. Gemma grinned at Matt as he sat next to her, kissing him back, her face turning red. Gemma didn't want to hurt him. She wanted him to know before it got too bad. She really liked him and she didn't want him to hate her. She's already done so much damage. Gemma looked over at Brian when Matt said they shouldn't hand out with them, knowing they could. Brian knew how to come in and out of the water as he pleased. So if they really wanted, he could make it happen.
