Riley sighed as she ran her fingers through her hair while she looked around her new home. There wasn't really much here, of course she hadn't really explored the small town yet truthfully. She'd came straight to the house she was moving into as soon as she'd arrived in town. Either way though she could tell that it was smaller than what she was used to. Which made her both nervous and glad. Surely if Jeremy actually tried to hunt her down he wouldn't think to come here, all the way out to Cali and to some small town in Cali at that. At the same time though if he did think to look everywhere, including this little town in Cali then she'd be fucked. Right now wasn't the time to worry about that though. What she was going to choose to worry about right now was just settling in, explore the town a little, and maybe she'd come up with an escape route for it Jeremy did show up looking for her.
As the vice president of the club Jax had certain responsibilities. He also liked to know what was going on in the town first rather than last that way if there were any problems he could talk to Clay they could figure something out and get shit taken care of. So finding out that Opie's sister was back in town wasn't really the best news. Of course what made it worse was that he didn't even hear that she was back from Opie. He heard from Chibs, who only knew because he'd seen her walking around town the night before. He wasn't really worried about why Opie didn't tell him though. The guy was his best friend, and Jax was sure he had his reasons. Though he would've liked the heads up. Truthfully no matter who told Jax that Carter was back in town mattered. What mattered, or what Jax thought mattered right now was how the hell he was going to deal with her being back.

[ hope this was okay tehe ]

Juice sighed walking through the small town of Charming with Chibs as he looked over at the older man who'd became a father figure and best friend to him since he'd joined the MC. "So Half-Sack told me about the new girl that moved into town." He spoke to Chibs as he nodded his heads towards Juice.

"Yeah, lad. I think we should drive by there to see." Chibs gave Juice his world famous grin causing a grin to form on his own lips. He took and got on his bike following Chibs's lead as they headed towards the small house that had been bought. They sat not too far from the house as Juice saw the girl go out to her car and he looked at her, she looked familiar but he couldn't place it.
Carter smiled at her father and brother hugging the two of them. Her running she knew it'd catch up to her eventually and it had causing her to flee back to the one place she didn't want to be back in. She took and heard Opie say something to her, "What?" She asked her mind lost in her own thoughts. She knew that Jax probably knew she was back in town. At this point she didn't give a rats ass about it. She sat down on the sofa in Opie's place as she took and sighed.

"So Jax does know. Chibs saw you last night in town and told him." Opie said sitting beside of her as she nodded her head.

"Figures." She muttered under her breath letting a faint sigh escape. She closed her tightly not wanting to go down memory lane.

Riley had walked out to her car and just out of habit, and a precaution, even though it was the middle of the day, checked the backseats before she climbed into the driver seat. She didn't know where she was going to go, or what she might end up finding around this place but that was why she was exploring. To figure out what this town was all about. And of course to start mapping out the best escape route just in case. Because she wanted to be prepared for anything and everything, the last thing she was doing after all was letting Jeremy find her and doing God knew what because she'd ran from him.

"Quite a fit lassie isn't she?" Chibs asked looking over to his friend when he saw the girl walk out of her house and to her car. He wasn't even really paying attention to how hard Juice was focusing on trying to figure out why she look familiar, he just cared about the fact that there was an attractive new comer in town honestly.
Jax lit up a cigarette and leaned against the outside wall of TM with Tig. They'd already went over all the club business for the day and everyone was already off doing their own thing, but considering he spent most of his time here anyways he was still there. And truthfully he was glad they'd all kind of left to do their own things for the time being, because he had so much on his mind he didn't wanna be surrounded by everyone right now.

"So what're you gonna do about Carter?" He heard Tig ask, "if you don't mind me asking of course."

He knew that Tig wouldn't usually be so weird about asking him things if it weren't something serious that he was clearly worried about. But honestly Jax didn't know what was gonna happen anymore.

"To be honest man I don't know what's gonna happen."

Juice turned his attention over to Chibs nodded, "Yeah." He said not paying attention to what he was saying. He took and started his bike up, "I'm going to go into town. I need to get some shit." Juice told him. He pulled out following her into town. Once she parked he parked not too far from her. He took and followed her a little bit for "accidentally" bumping into her, "Sorry." He said staring at her and it dawned on him. "Riles?" He asked.
Carter looked up at her father, Piney who was staring at her taking a swig off his beer. "Baby girl tell me why you left?" He looked down at her and she sighed knowing that the day she returned. He and Opie would want answers to what happened between her and Jax. Carter ran a hand through her hair sighing, "Daddy." She said sighing.

"Carter Leigh." Piney said flat out to his daughter causing her to roll her eyes and let a long dreadful sigh escape her lips.

"Jax has ears and eyes everywhere's." She said getting up and walking back to the bedroom. She came back out and carried the tiny two year old in her arms. "This is Thomas." She said lightly. "This is one reason I left." She paused sighing. "The night I went to tell Jax about me being pregnant, with his baby. He had a crow-eater in his room fucking her. Beat it all, it was Wendy dad." She paused. "I figured that he didn't want me anymore. I went to confront him about it and we got into a heated argument and I left." She frowned holding her son in her arms as she frowned.

"My god." Piney muttered sighing as he ran a hand over his head looking at Opie, "Did you know?" Opie nodded his head frowning. "Brother sister pack dad." Opie told Piney.
Piney stared at his daughter and sighed a little, "Well first off you gotta tell Jackson, Carter." Piney said. "Second of, give my grandson." He grinned taking the boy into his arms holding him.

Carter sighed looking to Opie as she frowned, "You're coming with." She told her older brother as he hugged her nodding. She took her son and sighed putting him in his seat as Opie got on his bike. Carter followed her brother to TM and pulled in parking near her brother. She saw Jax and Tig as she frowned getting out of the car and grabbing Thomas out. She followed Opie towards Jax.

Riley had decided that the first thing on her list was going to be to get some groceries. A girl had to eat after all. Of course she wasn't expecting for anyone to bump into her and nearly knock her down, and for a split second she was a little freaked out that this guy she didn't recognize right off the bat was calling her a nickname she hadn't heard anyone use in years. But it all clicked before she could even cuss at him for not watching where he was going.

"Carlos?" She asked looking him over for a second kind of taking in his features. She wasn't even sure when the last time she'd seen him was but clearly it'd been long enough for her not to fully recognize him at first glance.
Jax finished the cigarette he'd been smoking and threw it to the ground right as he saw Opie and Carter pull up. And from what he could tell she had a kid with him. Fabulous. Honestly this was the last thing he'd wanted to deal with today. Really he would've been fine with never dealing with it at all if he were being honest, but of course he'd have to deal with it eventually, and apparently today was that day.

"Why'd you bring her hear Ope?" He asked walking towards them, pissed off that she'd show up here after two years of nothing. Pissed that she was back in town in general after 2 years of nothing. And he was kind of pissed off with how things had ended with them too. It could've went better, and things could've been a lot different, and he knew that part of why it was a bad ending was his fault. But the matter was that she could've answered his calls when he tried to talk to her about shit. She could've at least written back or picked up her phone and told him she never wanted to hear from him or talk to him again if that was what she wanted. But no, and then she shows up 2 years later like nothing.

Juice grinned at her using his full name as he smiled at her nodding his head. "Yeah, so you're the new girl everyone is talking about that moved in." He smiled at her as he hugged her tightly. He hadn't seen her since he'd left his home town years ago. He smiled pulling back looking at her, "I'm glad you're here. I didn't know if it was you or not at first." He admitted to her smiling as he crossed his arms over his chest. "But everyone around here calls me Juice now." He smiled.
Opie looked at his best friend and sighed, "Because you two really need to work this shit out. Regardless of the shit that happened." Opie paused looking between the two of them. "You both need to spill your guys and all that shit." Opie said walking off and yanking Tig with him as he sighed looking over his shoulder.

Carter stood there awkwardly looking at Jax still pissed about the shit that had happened two years ago. She kept Thomas on her hip and looked away from Jax chewing the inside of her lip. She had no idea what to say to him, let alone if she spoke it was going to be pure outrage. Something she didn't want to do, and have shit going on and her just moving back to Charming.

Riley hugged him back honestly feeling relief. "Apparently so. I didn't know this was where you moved to though. I mean I knew you'd came to California or I guess just assumed it was where you'd came to I just didn't realize it was here." She said knowing if she had known he was here she probably would've tried to reach out or something before she came. "I'm just glad to be as far away from Brooklyn as I could get without leaving the country. It's nice that we're both here though." She said knowing that he probably didn't know much about her life after he'd left. Sure they'd kept in touch for a while after he left but eventually it all just stopped. Mostly because of Jeremy which she hated but what could she do about that now. "Juice? Huh. Well that's interesting." She said smiling back, "I'm assuming that has something to do with that leather you have on there. And the bike."
Jax kept himself from rolling his eyes and just walking away, even though it was clear that his best friend wanted him to work on this. And truthfully he knew he was only sticking around right now and eventually before the night was up talk to her about whatever the hell they talked about, because it'd make Opie happy. And Jax would do anything for his best friend, who even without the club would always be more like a brother.

"Let's get this over with then shall we?" He finally said trying to remain calm while he looked at Carter, and the kid she had on her hip. He was sure right now he could think of a million different ways he could be spending his time, and not a one of them involved Carter or this talk.

Nodding his head Juice smiled, "Yeah it does." He laughed lightly rubbing the back of his neck. "You still with that prick that kept blasting me out when I'd call you?" Juice asked curiously as he took and lent into the building behind him watching her. She'd change so much from the last time he'd saw her. She was now more beautiful than he could ever remember her being. "Yeah, I just kind of landed here if you want to say. The warm small town feeling roped me in." Juice smiled at her.
Carter let a breath out she didn't realize she was holding. Her brown eyes were locked on his blue ones and she knew in her heart he didn't want to talk. She cleared her throat speaking lightly, "Um, he drug me here just so you know." She bit down on her lip seeing Jax roll his eyes. "To get this out of the air. I'm sorry I didn't return that phone call you called that night I left. I'm sorry I changed my phone number to avoid you at the time. I know it was all wrong, but you fucking hurt me more than anyone realizes. I was coming to tell you that I was pregnant." She paused holding Thomas on her hip sighing. "I did write you a letter though. I explained shit about leaving and being pregnant and all. I mailed it to your mom's place. Guessing you didn't get it." Carter looked from her feet to Jax a second before looking in another direction to avoid eye contact.

"It suits you. So does this whole thing you got going on." Riley said making motions around his head. She felt herself tense up when Jeremy was brought up, "no." She told him shaking her head, "that's why I'm here. I had to get away from him Carlos." She hadn't really told anyone what happened with him. Of course she hadn't really had anyone to tell anyways. She was an only child and she'd lived with her grandma who passed away a few years after her and Carlos graduated high school. And she didn't think it mattered anymore anyways since she'd gotten away from him and told herself he'd never find her here. "It seems nice here, well from what I've seen anyways. I'm really happy that we're kind of getting a chance to reconnect." She told him with a smile of her own.

It was true she was happy about that though. They'd been really close in school and even afterwards. Of course Jeremy had been kind of jealous that there was some other guy saved in her phone that she actually talked to. And one that she'd always had a thing for. Even if the most that'd ever happened was the time they'd gotten drunk at some party and made out. She'd always lied about it, he was her friend after all and she hadn't wanted to fuck that up. Plus well he'd left town and she hadn't. Even if she would've told him he was leaving and deep down Riley hadn't wanted to tell him because if he would've stayed she would've felt like it was only for her and if things hadn't worked out then everything would've been messed up. So she'd just let him go, now though it was almost like the world telling her this was her chance.
Jax ran his fingers through his hair and sighed. "Yea I never got this letter you're talking about." He told her, though that he actually understood. If she really had sent it to his mom like she claimed she had then well his mom had probably read it and thought it best just not to give it to him. And lord it made him wish that his mother would stay out of his damn business again. Which he found himself wishing a lot actually. But he knew that'd never happen. If she didn't know what was going on with him she'd probably kill over.

"It was a stupid move sending the letter to my mother. We both know the woman's a bit crazy." He said biting his lip. "I didn't mean to hurt you. It didn't mean shit. I can't really explain this in a way that makes it sound good. But I didn't want to fuck you like that because it was meaningless and my way of getting rid of the stress before I went home to you that night." He told her knowing it probably sounded bad, but it was true. The last thing Jax really ever wanted was to love someone and then have meaningless sex with them. If he loved them then he knew the sex should always have passion and meaning and you should be able to just tell they loved one another. And that wasn't what kind of sex he was having that night. "You should of still told me you were pregnant." He finally added though, "I would've liked to know I've had a son for the past two years."

Juice smiled at Riley, "Yeah it's nice here." He smiled at her comment about reconnecting with one another. He nodded his head a huge grin appearing, "It's like the universe or something has done this. So we could get a second chance." He told her not beating around the bush.

Juice smiled at her as he took and admired her. He'd always been in love with her. But when Jeremy came into the picture and he'd decided to go back home. He knew it wasn't best. He let her go. But now he was finally getting his second chance to be with her. He wasn't letting it slip through his fingers, or fucking it up at all. "Want to go grab a bite to eat?" Juice asked Riley.
Carter sighed looking up at him tears brimming her eyes as she blinked them back. She nodded her head, "I know, it was a stupid move. But at the time it was the only address I remembered." She whispered clearing her throat and blinking again to avoid the tears spilling.

"I get what your saying, Jax. I do." She said staring at him. "I know I should've still told you, and I am truly sorry that I didn't. If I could take one thing back,it'd been that night. I would've told you before I had left." Carter looked at him and sighed a little.

Riley agreed with that the universe was trying to tell them something. It wasn't every day after all that you're thrown back into the life of an old flame, even if said old flame didn't know about how you felt. And she had always believed that no matter what if two people were meant for each other they'd end up together. "Clearly the universe wants us in each other's lives. And considering I'm not with Jeremy and never will be again after how he treated me there isn't anything stopping us."

Riley didn't know about how Juice felt about her. And as far as she did know he didn't know how she'd felt about him either. Even without knowing though she could feel all the emotions rushing back to her now just after seeing him again. And she knew that she'd be damned if she didn't do something about her feelings this time around. "That sounds like a great idea."
"God don't cry Carter." Jax said softer than he'd been talking since he saw her face again. If there was anything in the world that he absolutely hated it was seeing people he loved, especially Carter, crying. And because of him no less. It was the worst. Plus it made him feel like shit. Even more so than he already did for pretty much being the reason she left without telling him about his son in the first place.

"It's fine. Honestly I get why you did. You saw me with another woman and probably didn't think I cared or something. And that's on me. Sure I wish you would've let me explain or told me about him or something. But it's in the past now." He told her not wanting to have some fight over this when it couldn't be changed. "What's his name?" Jax finally asked knowing that since he knew about his son now he'd do everything he could to be in his life.

Juice smiled and offered Riley his arm. Once she took it he smiled walking down to the small diner that he always ate at. He pulled the door open letting her go in first. He took and smiled at her as he sat down at the booth with her, "I have to admit." He paused a second seeing her raise an eyebrow. He sighed running a hand over his head, "Riley, I liked you, even when Jeremy came into the picture. Those feelings I had for you, never went away. I liked you more than a best friend. It's more like a girlfriend." He said sounding stupid but he had to tell her how he felt even if he wasn't good about opening up and letting his emotions go.
Carter wiped her eyes a little and held Thomas on her hip, "Thomas Nathaniel Teller." She looked at Jax and gave a weak smile. "He's two now." She looked at Jax offering Thomas to him. "Even though he doesn't really know much right now. He does know that your his dad. When he began talking, and realizing things. I began showing him pictures of us from back when. And telling him stories about how good of a man you are, and your love for bikes." Carter told Jax with a slight smile on her lips. "He has a toy bike that I got him, he says it his dada's bike." She looked at Jax.

Riley watched Juice as he confessed to her and bit her lip while she thought of how to reply to him. "Why didn't you tell me?" She asked him feeling like she already knew his answer would be the same as hers. "Why didn't you stay?" She asked softer. She never actually admitted it, but she'd been really heartbroken when he left. Spent a whole day alone crying and feeling like she should've just told him how she'd felt so he'd stay. But she hadn't because that was selfish and she wouldn't have been able to handle him rejecting her if he hadn't felt the same way. And sure she'd been with Jeremy but even then she'd known he wasn't the one for her. She just hadn't wanted to accept that the person she loved might not have loved her back.
Jax stepped closer to her and took Thomas from her. "He looks like me." He said smiling at the little boy. And even if he'd only just met him he already loved him. Of course how could he not. The kid looked just like him, had his blood. This was family and Jax loved and lived for his family. "Hey there buddy." He said still smiling before looking at Carter. "I'm glad you told him about me." He told her glad that even if he hadn't known about Thomas at Thomas had known about him.

Juice sighed looking at her. He took her hand into his lightly and rubbed the top of it with his thumb, "I have no idea why I didn;t stay or why I didn't tell you. Even thought I figured you liked me like I liked you. I just kept thinking it was just probably me thinking it where I wanted to be with you so bad." He sighed seeing the hurt in her eyes. "I'm so sorry." He said to her frowning at how sad she looked now. "I really am." He said softly.
Carter hugged herself and nodded her head at Jax, "I had always planned on telling him about you." She said clearing her throat slightly. She took and looked around the clubhouse as she sighed a little. She watched Thomas with Jax and smiled seeing how happy Thomas was. She chewed on her lip admiring how Jax was with Thomas, it was something she'd always dreamed about.

Riley let her fingers curl into his hand. "I can't really be mad at you because I never told you how I felt either. It was just so painful watching you leave. And I regretted not telling you. But I couldn't. I couldn't tell you how I felt and feel like you were only staying because of me. Then if things wouldn't have worked out or you wouldn't have felt the same I would've been crushed." She told him not wanting him to stress over anything. It was all in the past and when they were young and hopefully they'd grown up since then. "I will tell you though I think Jeremy knew how much I cared about you and didn't like it. I never should've gotten involved with him."
"Well I guess you're a better person than most." Jax told her sure that there were plenty of girls who would've made sure the kid never knew his real dad if he would've hurt them the way he hurt her. Clearly though Carter was the woman he'd always known she was. "I'm really sorry about that night." He told her one last time. "And I'll probably always be sorry." He added knowing he'd probably regret the choice he made since it'd pushed a wedge between them. Even if it'd felt right at the time. He knew it wasn't.

Nodding his head, "I kind of figured he wouldn't." He admitted to her and smiled at her. "I tried to warn you, when you told me about him. But I couldn't stop you." Juice looked at her a second thinking about something had happened to her. "Did he do something to you?" He asked her wanting to know.
Carter looked at Jax, "It's ok Jax." She patted his shoulder lightly, "It's in the past. It happened long ago. I forgive you." She told him as she took and watched Thomas and smiled at their son. "Just in time, I hope you forgive me because of the way I went about leaving and everything." She told him as she took and saw Opie watching from the club window along with Tig as she shot her brother a narrowed glaze.

"And you know I was a stupid nineteen year old girl then. Who didn't listen and thought she knew what she was doing. Plus I figured if I was with him I'd forget about my feelings for you." Riley told him knowing that wasn't how things had worked out clearly, but it's what she'd thought would happen. "It doesn't matter anymore because I'm not with him and I refuse to believe that he'll find me here. But yea. A few months ago I ended up in the hospital again and probably would've just went back to him to afraid he'd stick to the threat about hunting me down if I tried to leave if my friend hadn't been the one to get me. She convinced me to stay with her and that we'd figure everything out. And then about a week ago we had everything in order. I got a new phone with a new number, I emptied out my bank account, took care of all the last minute things there and left to head here. And I'm so afraid that he's gonna find me. I mean I don't wanna believe that he will but what if he does."
Jax listened to Carter and he knew that he'd forgive her too. Of course clearly if she was willing to forgive him he could forgive her. "Considering I pushed you away and into leaving and made you feel like your only choice was to leave I think I can find it in me to forgive you." He told her. Sure he was still hurt that she'd kept the fact that he had a son from him for 2 years, but then again she'd also sent a letter that his mother had never delivered so it wasn't entirely her fault that he didn't know. It was but it wasn't. The point he was trying to make to himself was that he was willing to get over whatever the hell little scuffle they'd had. Especially if it meant that he'd get to have his son and Carter back in his life. Which hopefully everything would just work itself out.

Looking at her he couldn't help but to feel the rage that was building inside of him. He let a low growl escape his lips as he looked at her, "Riley." He paused a second and cleared his throat. "If that ass ever shows up let me tell you. I will murder him personally, and make sure he has the slowest death that he could possibly get from someone." Juice got out of the booth and walked over sitting beside of her.

He took her into his arms and rubbed her back lightly, "I promise no one will ever harm you here. Not while I am around, love." Juice promised her.
Carter watched Jax and a small smile tugged onto her lips when he'd forgive her. She took and sat down beside of him watching Thomas play with the patches on Jax's vest. She honestly had no idea what they done from here, other than one thing. "Would you like to come over tonight, for diner with Thomas and I?" Carter asked Jax chewing the inside of her lip.
