Costly Collateral

Matt walked through the crowded party, glad there were a lot of people around. They could execute their plan and nobody would really notice because it was so packed. Brian was following him close behind while Jimmy and Zacky were by the car and Johnny was standing watch just in case. Matt walked up to a group of kids and stood amongst them, looking around and smirking when he spotted her. He nodded at Brian and then walked towards her, smiling at her. "Hey," he greeted, reaching behind him and taking the small vial out of his pocket, handing it to Brian behind him.

Cam looked at the buff dimpled guy in front of her and smiled back at him. She moved her drink from where it was places beside her and held it in her arms, feeling like someone was begin her. "Hey," she greeted the hot stranger back. "Are you to campus? I haven't seen you around before." She was a bit of a social butterfly which annoyed her brother Andrew especially with the line of work he was in but Cam was always a good judge character so she was making small talk until she could get a feel of the guy.

Matt smiled at her. She was kind of cute, and she seemed pretty nice for a first impression. "Yeah, I'm here with a few of my friends tonight," he said. He looked back at Brian and nudged his arm. "This is my friend Brian. I'm Matt." He extended his hand out towards her, giving her an encouraging smile to shake his hand.

Cam shook Matt's hand, keeping an eye on his friend as did. "I'm Cam," she introduced herself. "I'm a science major with a world religion minor." She extended her hand to Brian, wondering if he'd shake it. "What about you guys? What are you at Burkley for?" She casually looked around the room as she waited for their answer noticing a pair of eyes watching them from across the room. She had a feeling something was fishy about Matt and Brian now. She would let them talk to her for a bit and then excuse herself to the bathroom and leave out the back way so she could call her brother.

Matt smiled at her. "Science? That's different," he said. He didn't usually hear science major like that. Maybe she was just really smart. "We're not in college. We actually gradated some time ago. We just came here because someone by the name of Andrew invited us. But we can't seem to find him." He looked back at Brian and then at the girl, taking her cup from her and examining what was inside of it. "Cheap beer? You can do better than that."

Cam's body tensed when she heard her brother's name, hoping it was a different Andrew but with how these two guys looked she highly doubted that. "It's free beer so I'm not gonna complain," she replied. She saw her friend Nate across the room and called out his name. "Sorry he's pre-med so I haven't seem his ass in weeks." Cam moved passed both men, running over to Nate, pretending to talk to him while she text her brother that some guys were being sketchy and mentioned him. The blonde grabbed her coat, sliding it on, taking the safety off on the small pistol she had inside, knowing she would probably need to use it.

Matt sent a text to Jimmy, knowing he'd be able to stall the girl the best out of all of them. Jimmy was an amazing actor.

Jimmy got the text and looked at Zacky, taking his knife and running the blade across his stomach, hissing quietly. He got really into his job sometimes. He cut deep enough to leave a gash and have blood all over him. He walked away from the car, holding his stomach and stumbling towards the house, crying out for help. He spotted the girl they were supposed to be after and he limped over to her. "Help! Please!" he coughed, squeezing his stomach tightly as it really began to hurt.

Cam slid her hand in her pocket, putting the saftely back on her gun so it wouldn't go off. She cautiously approached the guy, trying to see if the blood on his shirt was actually a real blood red. When she realized it was she lead him to her car, making him sit in the backseat while she grabbed her first aid kit from her trunk. She hid her gun in her glove box while the guy wasn't looking, glad she still had protection on her just in case. She lifted up his shirt, inspecting the wound, making small talk as she cleaned and bandaged him up. "I cleaned you up as much as I can but you probably need to go the hospital," Cam spoke. "Do you need a ride?"

Jimmy took deep breaths, pretending like he was trying to calm himself down. He reached up and rubbed his face after he wiped his hands off on his shirt, shaking his head. "No," he mumbled. "I-I think I'll be fine." He sat up and hissed quietly, letting out a breath. "Can you help me back to my car? Just to make sure I'm okay? I think I can drive myself if I can just get back to my car. It's only a few buildings down."

"Let me just drive you," Cam insisted. "That suture glue will only hold for so long and you walking to your car will make it worse." She ran her hands through her hair as she licked her dry lips with her to tongue. "I promise I'll even drive you back here to get your car after the hospital discharges you." The blonde suddenly felt a pair of eyes on her and quickly turned around. The hair on the back of her neck stood up when she saw the guys from the party. "I'm sorry you're on your own now buddy," she mumbled. Cam climbed into her car, frowning when it wouldn't start. She grabbed her gun, taking the safety off and called her brother. "Drew get here quick something is happening," she pleaded. She aimed at Brian's shoulder, hitting it directly before she began running away from them.

Matt ran out from behind the building and grabbed her, spinning her around and shoving her against the wall, watching the gun fall from her hand. He grabbed the vial and popped the cap off before he shoved it in her mouth, watching the liquid pour into her mouth before he held her mouth shut and felt her body begin to go limp.

Brian glared at the limp body across Matt's shoulder when he showed back up. "The bitch shot me," he hissed. "If Viper doesn't pay up I'm going to have fun putting a bullet in her shoulder just to see if she likes it," he hissed. When Matt thought she had passed out since he didn't make sure swallows the vial she let it all slowly fall to concrete in a stream. She heard Brian hiss his threats and decided to try to escape again. She punched Matt hard in the kidney, making him let her go and she began to make a run for it again.

Johnny made quick for the gun and grabbed it, lifting it up and shooting her in the calf. Matt groaned as he held his side and stood up, narrowing his eyes at the girl as she fell to the ground. "You could have made this fucking easy on yourself!" he hissed, stumbling over and grabbing her ankles, yanking her back towards their car.

Cam grabbed the knife out of her pocket and tried to slash at Matt's hand. "Stay the fuck away from me," she hissed. "I don't know a fucking Viper so you have the wrong girl." She tried to crawl away, crying out in pain when Brian stepped on the calf that had been shot. "How about Andrew," he asked. "Do you know that name?" Cam glared up at Brian, spitting on his shoes as she tried to pull his foot off her leg.

Matt pulled her up and slapped her across the face before he handcuffed her and shoved her into the trunk. He taped her mouth shut and stuck his fingers into her wound, smirking as he twisted the bullet.

Cam's eyes watered as she screamed out obscenities from behind her taped mouth to mask her pain. She struggled to pull away from Matt, trying to kick his hand away with her other leg and failed miserably. She looked as four other men stood above her as she laid in the trunk and her body tensed. She knew something had was about to happen and she knew it had something to do with her brother.

"Now," Matt said, leaning in close to her face. "You can make this easy on yourself, or you can make this hard. All you have to do is cooperate and I won't have to hurt you." He let Johnny into the back with her before he shut the door and walked to the front, getting in and starting the car.

Cam struggled against her handcuffs until Johnny threatened to put a bullet in kneecap if she didn't stop. She cursed him out from under her taped mouth and did what she was told. She paid attention to her surroundings, wanting to know where to run if she when she finally managed to escape from the guys.

Matt drove her to their secluded home, parking the car and walking around, tugging her out. He lifted her up and carried her inside, taking her to the back of the house and placing her in a room. He grabbed a first-aid kit before he shoved her down onto the cot and began to pull out the bullet.
