Christian was busy making notes as the Prime Minister spoke, but unlike a lot of the other assorted scientists, journalists and civil servants at the event, he wasn't writing down what the man was saying. He knew full well that the speech was utter crap, although it was interesting seeing people's reactions to the words. His boss had assigned him to cover the event, so he'd rush off a quick paragraph or two later, but the post he'd write on his blog would be completely different - an update on the true situation.

Tiffany

Tiffany was sitting next to some journalist or the other and a doctor she vaguely recalled as being called Agnus or Agatha or something like that, her arms folded across her chest as she listened to the reassurances the government were spitting out. On the one hand, she fully understood why they were lying. On the other, she knew it was unethical and, if things did end up going south and the quarantine was breached - which it had been twice before already - and it wasn't effectively contained by the military, then it would be dangerous too. Slowly, her eyes shifted to the badge worn by the man next to her. Christian Arias. Press. Interesting that he wasn't writing anything down but then again, who knew, he might have a recorder somewhere. Regardless she leaned in, smiling a little as she murmured just loud enough for him to hear.

"You're not buying this bullshit are you?" she asked him.

"I think everyone knows that it's just morale boosting rubbish," Christian whispered back. He spotted the WHO logo on her visitor badge and guessed she probably knew better than most the extent of the outbreak. It could be quite interesting to talk to her, and her knowledge could be quite helpful for the readers of his blog so he made a mental note to ask if she'd be willing to have a chat with him later.
