Alyssa had gotten up early that morning, excited for her first day of her junior year in high school. After an hour of picking at her appearance, Alyssa went on down stairs to eat breakfast and see her parents before she left for school. As she walked into the kitchen she spotted her father at the table reading the newspaper and her mother over at the coffee maker.
"Good morning!" Alyssa said as she smiled at them both as they looked over at her.
"Good morning dear. How did you sleep?" Her mother asked
"I thought I would never get to sleep." Alyssa said with a small sigh.
"Were you excited about school starting?" Her father asked as he gave her a small smile.
"Yes." Alyssa smiles as she looked down at her watch. "I better get going so I'm not late. I love you both." She said as she moved to give them both a kiss on the cheek.

The teen made it to the high school in record time. She sat out in front of the school with her iPod. One ear bud in her ear so she will still be able to hear the bell ring. She leaned up against a tree as she slid down to sit as she scrolled through different songs, waiting patiently for school to begin.

Suddenly, an old black muscle car came rumbling up the front walk of the school. It was a flat black 1968 Dodge Charger, and sounded like it could just about shake the ground with the roar coming from the exhaust. It pulled into a spot along the line of trees that lined up with the tree Alyssa was sitting against. The engine shut off, and the door opened up, allowing a muscular figure to rise out from inside, clad in a pair of baggy cargo pants and a black hoodie without any symbols marking it.

He pulled a bookbag out from the passenger side, and slung it over his shoulder before closing the door and stepping away from the car, locking it as he did so. as soon as he stepped away from the car, though, a group of large football players stepped over in front of him.

"Well, wool you look at that," the one in the center said, smirking," We have a new student here! Say, do you think that we should show him some generosity guys?"

"Yeah!!!" They all cheered in unison, before the 'leader'turned and took something from one of the others. Next thing you know, Luke had a slushie thrown into his face, making him yell out, and push the leader back and start trying desperately to wipe it off of his face.

Well, the head douchebag didn't necessarilh take being push well, and was about to punch their new plaything, when an adult stepped up and started reprimanding them for almost fighting. Turns out it was the principal. When Luke yelled at him and asked what he was going to do to them for throwing a slushie in his face, he simply replied," Food chain. Now get to class, the bell will ring in 10 minutes." With that, he turned on his heel, and fled back into the school, leaving Luke to try to clean himself off best he could...

Alyssa has seen what the football players had done to the new guy at school. Putting her iPod in her bag she grabbed her jacket that she had had in her bag and began to walk towards the man. Slinging her bag over her shoulder as she stood in front of him.

"Here let me help you." Alyssa said with a small smile on her face as she offered him her jacket to wipe his face off with.

When he didn't make a move she began to dab at his face gently with her jacket. "Don't let those guys get to you, they seem to find pleasure in hurting others." Alyssa frowned before she handed the guy her jacket. "I have to get inside or I will be late for class, but go on and take my jacket if I missed any of the slushy on your face."

She began to walk towards the school before turning back around. "My name is Alyssa, it was nice to meet you." she called out before hurrying to her locker to put her bag up.

Alyssa made it to first hour right before the late bell rang, she took the only seat that was open. Which happened to be right next to Dane the football player that poured the slushy onto the new guy. Sighing in frustration she tried not to look at him.

"Well look who we have here." Dane said in a taunting voice.

"What do you want Dane?" Alyssa asked annoyed.

"You know what I want." He said flatly

"Yes, well the answer is still no." Alyssa said before the teacher went to the front of the class to begin the lesson.

Luke was surprised to say the least when the girl camp up and started to help him. But, that isn't what caused him to freeze in place. It was him meeting her eyes. He wasn't exactly sure why at the time, but he say those two beautiful eyes and froze in his place, with a smile on his face- despite the blue slushie dripping down his face. He didn't even get a chance to say much, though, besides," Oh, and my name is Luke. I'll get your jacket back to you!" while she was walking away.

He then started cleaning the rest of his face and hair off before dashing inside and scrambling to find this first classroom. When he did, he shuffled inside a few seconds after the late bell and slid to the back. Thankfully, the teacher didn't call him out on being late, considering it was his first day. When he sat down, though, he quickly took a deep breath of the jacket- finding her scent on it to be able to find her later. Just in case he couldn't find her the normal way. With that, he stuffed the jacket into his bag, and was called up to the front of the class to introduce himself.

Well, the first day in his new school had started out horribly- but how much worse could it get, right?

Alyssa stared at the clock waiting, wishing that the bell would ring for first hour to be over. As she stared she thought about Luke, from what she could see with his hoodie on; he was quite muscular, beautiful dirty blond hair, with dark eyes that she could get lost in if she stared at them for too long. The bell rang making her jump for she had quit paying attention to the clock as she thought about him.

Standing she grabbed her notebooks and headed to the door. "Come on Alyssa you know you want to be with me." Dane said as he came up behind her and grabbed her hips pulling her against him.

"Dane stop it!" Alyssa yelled as she tried to get out of his grip. "This is exactly why I don't want to be with you, you are pushy and always take what you want." She whimpered as she was finally able to pull free.

Alyssa rushed to the bathroom, turned the water on as she put water on her face trying not to cry. Dane had been this way to her ever since they started high school. As she calmed down and tears no longer threatened to fall, she dried her face off and headed to her next class.

Arriving a few seconds before the late bell rang still in a bit of a daze she sat in the back hoping no one would try and speak to her as she kept her eyes focused on the front of the classroom.

Considering it was the first day of classes- also known as syllabus day- all the teacher did was go over the set of rules and guidelines that they had in the class, leaving the class to be quite possibly the most boring class out of the entire semester. As Luke bit his teeth and sat through it in a perpetual state of almost falling asleep, it was much awaited when the bell finally rang to let the class out. He quickly hopped up from his chair, and bolted out of the room, back on the search for his next classroom. When he finally found it, it was right before the bell rang, and he quickly retreated to the back of the class once again.... But this time, he sat down beside a familiar face, and smiled when he realized he had. She seemed to be in a trance with looking towards the front of the classroom. So, he learned over and gently tapped her, Whispering," Fancy seeing you again."

Alyssa jumped startled as she turned towards the voice. As soon as she saw it was Luke she smiled brightly. "Hey, you clean up nicely." she said as her smile faltered.

"I'm sorry about what Dane did earlier. He can be a real jerk." Alyssa said as she wrapped her arms around her stomach.

"Anyway, how is your first day going besides what happened earlier?" she asked as she noticed one of Dane's football buddies watching her as she spoke with Luke. Alyssa looked down at her lap as she tried to stay calm, wondering how she could have ever been excited about starting her junior year.

Luke chuckled at her quip about cleaning up nicely, and said," Why thank you. I'll get your jacket back to you tomorrow, by the way- nice and clean. And don't worry about it. I've been the new guy enough times at enough schools to know how it works with new kids and the 'Top Dog'." He chuckled a bit at that, enjoying the little inside joke, before continuing," Dane? You know him personally?" He then paused and took a moment to take in her body language, and frowned. "I'm assuming it isn't in a pleasant manner that you know him either, is it?"

Alyssa sighed before she looked over at him with a small frown. "I've known him since we were kids, but ever since high school started he's been a dick. He 'says' he wants to go out with me, I keep telling him no but it doesn't seem to faze him."
Placing her hand over her eyes she sighed. "Now he just wont leave me alone and he's always trying to touch me. But enough about me, where did you move from?"

"Depends on which time you mean," Luke said, chuckling a bit," I'm officially from a small town in Oklahoma- but My family moved away from there when I was three- so I don't really remember any of it anyway. On the other hand, I just moved here from a small town in Colorado. And before that, it was just small town after small town, all over the States, moving every year or two between them."

Luke finished and then realized what she had pushed off before he began, and asked," What do you mean trying to touch you? Like just putting his hands on you every chance he gets? Or putting his hands on you every chance he gets?" Before he even knew the answer, he could feel a surge of anger begin to flow through him, as he frowned with a deep scorn already felt towards this man named Dane...

Alyssa gave him a small frown as she looked down at her hands once more. She hadn't really been paying attention to the time, when the bell rang. Alyssa stood slowly gathering her notebooks before headed toward the exit with her head down.

Once she made it out of the classroom Alyssa literally wanted to die. She had never told anyone about Dane and now after two years she up and tells the new guy all about Dane and what he does to her.

She stuck the the right side of the hallway trying not to be noticed so she could make it safely to her next class.

There was the sound of a small gust of air before Luke stepped out from around the corner, in front of Alyssa. He held out his hands, and gently too hold of her shoulders, before staring into her eyes with his own, practically piercing her soul. His face was serious and stern when he asked," Should I take your lack of answer as in he did the latter, worse kind of it, Alyssa? I will tell no one else, and I swear that you you. But.... I need to know. Because no woman deserves that type of treatment from a man."

Alyssa, jumped with a small squeal; pressing her hand to her chest as she tried to catch her breath. She looked up at Luke, tears running down her face at his words as she gave him a small nod. "Please, it's alright. I don't wan you to get hurt. Please promise me you wont do anything...Please?" Alyssa begged as she took his hands in hers.

Luke hesitated for a moment, before sighing and abruptly pulling her into a tight, warm hug. He then whispered in her ear,"I'm sorry I brought it up, and persisted with it, but I despise when men do that to women. It's disgusting, vile, and putrid. I'm sorry.... I promise not to do anything."

But some promises were meant to be broken...

Alyssa smiles and kissed his cheek. "Thank you." she said as she ran her hand against his cheek. "Would you want to eat with me at lunch? I mean only if you don't have any plans or anything." Alyssa asked hoping he would say yes for the cafetiere was the main place that Dane and his buddies seemed to gather and bother her.

The warning bell rang, Alyssa looked back at him with a frown. "I have to go I'm sorry, but if you decide to eat with me I will be near the back." she said as she hurried off to her last class before lunch.

Luke smiled, and blushed deeply when she kissed his cheek- not quite knowing how to respond to it. When she ran off, though, he touched his cheek, and smiled. Although, then he realized that he had absolutely NO clue where his next class was. So, he took off, trying to find it... Thankfully, he found it in time. Then, the waiting began until lunch...
