::Face Down::

David saw her nod quickly, and simply ignored it. He watched her and felt her press a kiss to his lips. He kissed her back gently, his lips soft in comparison to her shaking ones as if she were afraid. He smirked softly realizing he had gotten his way. He pulled her back and kissed her harshly on the lips, holding her to him. He pulled away after that and noticed her lack of hoodie, and suddenly his eyes went narrow again. He grabbed her waist rather hard, pulling her back. He growled and said, "Did he see?! Did he see the bruises!? Oh you whore! You fucking told him!" He screamed at her and slapped her then punched her in the stomach before pushing her to the ground. He grabbed her by the hair and this time kicked her in her back, but not that hard knowing it was easy to get a back injury that was permanent. He kicked her legs.

Holly smiled as he returned the kisses, a blush appearing on her cheeks. She wished that he was like this all the time because if he was, they would never have issues in their relationship. She missed when their life was like that. Smiling up at him once she pulled away, her smile started to falter when David's eyes narrowed. "Wha-" she had been about to ask him what was wrong, only to wince as she was yanked to him. Yelping, Holly started gasping for air as she was punched int he stomach. She shook at his feet, tears welling in her eyes as she was yanked half-up, moving to try and pullat his hand. "Please, Dave, I-" she cried out as he kicked her, curling into a ball to try and protect herself. Biting into her lip,t rying to distract herself from the pain as she struggled to breath, "H-He took my. Hoodie. Off," she mananged to say between gasps of air.

"Yeah? Well you little fucking bitch now he knows!" He yelled at her, before kicking her three more times. He panted as he kicked the shit out of her. After a while of hitting and kicking her, he stopped and growled. "I'll just have to fucking talk to him now." He left and headed towards Darcy's house, having gotten Holly to come with him. He said, "Sit there and be fucking quiet. I swear to god, Holly." He growled to her, his voice indicating he was serious about what he had said he would do. He drove to Darcy's apartment, parking the car when he got there. "You can either stay in the fucking car or come watch me beat the shit out of him." He said looking at her.

Holly's body felt like it was broken as she took every hit and kick, tears starting to flow down her cheeks. She had curled into a ball, her legs up to try and protect her ribs and her hands trying to protect her head the best she could. It was hard for her to even stand when David told her to, her legs barely able to hold up her weight as she limped toward David's car. Her head was lowered as she closed her eyes tightly, not wanting to see anything that was about to happen. She let out a small whimper when he stopped the car, looking up to him with pleading eyes. "Please. Dave. I'll change my phone number. I told him not to talk to me anymore. Please. Just. Let's go," she whispered, not able to talk too loud because her head was pounding and making too much noise made it hurt even worse. She was shaking as she leaned closer to David. All she wanted to do was get him to leave Darcy alone. "Let's go home. I'll make it worth it," she whispered, setting a hand on his thigh and turning her head so she could nip at his neck, in hopes she could offer him other entertainment. "Please."

David growled hearing her please. He slapped her and said, "Get. Out." He said in her ear and nipped her ear before getting out of the car, slamming the door. He didn't bother helping her and just let her limp. Pounding on Darcy's door, her crossed his arms as he waited for the dipshit to open the door. When he finally did, he was not expected what came next.

Darcy opened the door, and saw David and saw how Holly was walking and saw the bruises on her face. He punched David straight in the nose and said, "Get the fuck away from me now." He growled and that's when David hit him back. Darcy punched him, but saw Holly, and stopped himself. He let David hit him until he knocked into Holly and just shoved her before going for Darcy again. His anger spurred, and he started to hit him, going into his rage mood where no one could stop him unless it was Holly. He stopped after he was on the ground and took a deep breath. "I'm sorry Holly. I really am. I couldn't take it. I was going to leave you alone, I was because that's what you wanted." He told her shaking his head, dried tears on his own face.

Holly let out a small cry as she shuddered at just how angry David sounded, a chill running down her spine. She swallowed the lump in her throat and reluctantly got out, forcing herself to move forward and to follow David. She stood back, her head hung so that she didn't have to see anything that was about to happen. She was visibly shaking as she heard the door start to open and she clamped her eyes shut, holding her breath. NO. She wasn't ready for this, none of this was supposed to happen. None of it. She should have protected Darcy - she hadn't done enough for him.

When someone was shoved into her, she stumbled backward and nearly lost her balance but managed not to. Holly flinched when Darcy stepped up to her, afraid of what Darcy was going to do now as she looked to her boyfriend on the ground. She swallowed, refusing to look up to her best friend. "You should go back inside, forget this ever happened," she whispered, shaking her head and taking a few small steps toward David. She knelt down, trying to help him to his feet.

Holly bit into her lip and glanced backward toward Darcy without actually looking up to his face, "Go!"

Darcy moved to in front of her and said, "I can't do that Holly." He murmured, not moving from in front of her. He felt tears go down his face. He hadn't meant for them to fall onto her head and then her cheek, but they did. He murmured, "I can't forget about this because he's hurting you.." He said and suddenly was hit in the head with a plant he had on the front of the porch. "BITCH." David breathed before grabbing Holly and slapping her. Darcy's eyes widened seeing this, and tackled David. He forced him down and then said, "Don't you fucking touch her! Keep your filthy hands away from her! She's the best thing you'll ever have and instead of treating her like a princess you're treating her like a slave and that's not fucking cool!" He screamed at him, not hitting him, just holding him down so he didn't touch Holly. "You want to hurt me, go the fuck ahead, but don't you ever touch her again like that!!" He said and felt like his head was going to explode.

Holly's eyes widened in fear as she watched a plant start to raise above Darcy's head. She had been about to open her mouth to warn him but before she could manage to, David smacked him with it. She took a step back and covered her mouth in shock, not knowing what to do. She winced as she was slapped but made no noise - all she wanted to do was get out of here. She watched as Darcy tackled David and felt her stomach drop. What was she supposed to do? She wanted to go inside and hide - wait until Darcy came to find her but David had instilled such a sense of fear into her that she simply turned around and started to limp toward the car. She was hoping that if she got into the car to go, that Darcy would let David up.

Darcy couldn't take this. He could see the fear in Holly's face and eyes, and just wanted to protect her. He pulled out his phone and called nine one one on David. He couldn't do this anymore. He would rather have Holly safe and hate him than have her unsafe and love him. He just couldn't do it. He kept David on the ground until the Police were there. He stood up and away from him and said, "He has been abusing his girlfriend, my best friend and I was there when he slapped her." He mumbled, and still felt the tears go down his face but didn't care. "I'm sorry Holly, but I couldn't watch him destroy you. I couldn't. I love you too much to watch him destroy such a beautiful person."

Holly had climbed into the car and was silent, waiting for David to come to the car but he never did. She was confused as she looked up, only to freeze when she caught sight of a police car. Her eyes widened as it pulled up behind David's car and she turned to watch as David was arrested and dragged away. She shook, not sure what to do as she watched them leave before turning to look at Darcy on his front porch. Hesitantly, she climbed out of the car and just stood there, completely unsure of what to do. She pulled her clothes closer to her body, trying to warm herself up because she felt like she was freezing.

Darcy saw her get out and was silent as she stood there. It was pretty cold, considering it was extremely close to winter. He grabbed a coat and came up to her and put it around her shoulders. He had a black eye and a busted lip, plus bruises all over his face from having taken the beating for a while. He then murmured, "Lets get you to the hospital." He looked upset. He hadn't wanted to, even though he had WANTED to, beat the shit out David. He had tried his hardest not to, but when he had shoved Holly and slapped her right in front of him, he couldn't take it. He had lost it.

Holly looked up when Darcy approached her and he simply nodded, looking up to him. She was quiet as she felt her stomach twist nervously. She didn't know what to expect as she followed him to his car and climbed in, limping the entire way. BUt she was silent, not wanting Darcy to think she was too hurt. She felt like she had had worse and so, she wasn't overly concerned. At least, not right nown she wasn't. "You don't have to stay at the hospital," she murmured, looking away from him and instead, staring out the window.

Darcy sighed hearing her as he sat in the car. He leaned his head on the steering wheel. He said, "I will though." He started to car and started to drive to the hospital. He then murmured, "I'm sorry." He drove to the hospital, driving past a lot of people as he made it there. He stopped the car and went over and picked her up before carrying her into the hospital to the emergency room. He set her down on a table and waited for the doctor to come in. He sat down burying his head in his hands.

Holly reached over and took his hand in hers, squeezing it gently. She was silent though, not sure what to say to him. She did want to say she wasn't mad but she wasn't sure that was true. Partly because she wasn't going to press charges and David was just going to get out, she was sure of it. A doctor came in and she was whisked away to get several xrays before being returning to the room.

A nurse came in with a frown on her face and gave a list of her injuries: two fractured ribs in her back and a broken wrist - an injury that she hadn't even realised she had had because she had been too focused on everything that was going on. She sighed and when asked what colour she wanted for a cast, she simply said purple - it was her favourite colour after all.

"You don't have to stay, Darcy. You shouldn't see any of this," she mumbled, staring down at her lap.

Darcy felt her hand and squeezed it back, but not too hard, knowing she was pretty fragile at the moment. He lifted her hand and kissed it. He let his head fall down into his hands again and let them take her to get x-rays. When the nurse came back and listed all her injuries, he hit the wall, causing himself to have an injury. "Goddammit." He hissed and looked at her, hearing her words. "I do have to stay. I will see it, because you're my best friend and you need me, and I'm never going to let him touch you if it's the last thing I ever do, I swear to god. He won't touch you again." He promised her as he bent down to her eye level and looked her straight in the eyes. His own were from his self hate at the moment for not noticing and pain for seeing her in so much.

Holly flinched as she saw Darcy hit the wall out of the corenr of her eye, having expected it to hit her. She had closed her eyes tightly and was shaking, still fully expecting him to snap on her. When he didn't hit her she slowly opened her eyes to look up to him. She was silent, her eyes down on her hands now. "You don't have to protect me, I got myself into trouble," she mumbled, refusing to meet his gaze. She took a deep breath before looking up to him with a slight smile. When a nurse came in to tell her she could go home whenever she was ready, and to offer her the print-outs of what to do and what not to do with broken ribs. Holly slowly started to stand, unsure of what to do because she didn't feel like she should go to Darcy's.

"Can you drop me off at the house?" She asked quietly, her gaze down on the ground as she went to leave the room and lead the way out.

Derek couldn't help it. He was initially mad at himself, but also at David. He couldn't stand the creep to begin with, now it was even worse. He heard her and look her hand gently. "I don't have to, but I choose to." He responded, holding her hand gently in his own, running his thumb gently over the shaking skin he was holding onto. He stood up as well. He heard her and blinked, "You can come over." He murmured softly, feeling like she no longer wanted him around. He didn't know what he was going to do without Holly. His parents already hated him, because he was different. Because he chose to tattoo himself, and express himself in ways they thought he ought not to. He watched her gently, awaiting her reply, that he knew was soon to come from her mouth and reach his ears.

Holly was honestly surprised by Darcy's offer, looking up to him in surprise. She felt like a burden, like she shouldn't be around him because she only had seemed to cause him problems as of late. She nodded quickly and thanked him, figuring that it couldn't hurt. She knew she probably shouldn't be alone right now, anyway. If she knew anything about David, he was goign to figure out a way to weasel his way out of charges. He always seemed to manage to. Sighing, she walked with him out to his car, chewing on her lip nervously. "Do you mind if we stop by my place? Just so I can pick up a change of clothes and whatnot," she said quietly, once they had gotten into his car.

Darcy heard her and a spark of hope ignited itself into his chest. He smiled at her and said, "Yay!" He couldn't contain his happiness. He murmured, "We'll get all of your clothes and stuff packed up." He said not wanting her to be in that house anymore. "I just don't want to lose my best friend." He said as he started up his engine as he started to drive to her house. He didn't want her alone. He wanted her with him. He couldn't believe he had thoughts such as these, but he did. He wanted her with him, so she would be safe. He held her hand as he drove to her house.

Holly offered up a small smile at best and nodded, quiet as she looked down at her lap. She was quiet as she held his hand, chewing on her lip nervously. Her heart was pounding but she wasn't all that sure why because the butterflies in her stomach were foreign to her. She let out a sigh after a bit and looked up to him for a moment, "Just need to grab my teas and pack a bag. The rest can wait until tomorrow or something," she said, not really wanting to deal with packing all of her things tonight. The longer they drove, the more she realised she was absolutely exhausted. All she wanted to do was go to sleep at the moment.
