Allan frowned, looking clearly confused as she told him that he had been ignoring her all day. That was also when he got close enough to touch her, too, and he took both of her hands in his with both confusion and worry in his eyes. As a tear plopped onto her cheek though, he paused to gently wipe it away as he looked into her eyes.

"Jordan, I haven't been ignoring you," he told her softly but surely. "We were sitting on the couch together, and I suggested going on another date tonight since neither of us are scheduled to be at work. We were talking about seeing a movie when you said you thought you forgot something outside, which was where you were when I came home. You were gone a few minutes, and when you came back, you started asking what was wrong with me."

The demon in Allan was enjoying this tremendously. She had been so angry at first, but according to the tears and doubt he saw in her eyes, she wasn't actually sure any longer whether he was lying or not. He was sure if he continued to be adamant on his having not ignored her, she would believe him.

Jordan wanted to scream and shout, throw a plate or a glass against the wall and watch it shatter because she was so angry. She was hurt because she couldn't figure out what the hell was going on. She was positive that she was right, that he had been ignoring her all day. But he kept telling her these things and she fully trusted him, they had been together for years going on some more years.

She couldn't figure out any sort of explanation of what the hell was going on and when Allan touched her face, all she did was close her eyes and lean into her touch. Jordan was quiet, hesitant before she reached to wrap her arms around his waist and pull him closer to her.

"Let's just go out now. I don't want to argue anymore," Jordan mumbled after a moment, her face buried into his chest. Her body was tense - she was afraid of what was coming next. She had no idea what was coming, she just didn't want to think about it anymore.

Allan wrapped his arms around Jordan as she leaned into him and started rubbing her back in soothing circles. "I don't want to argue either," he said, his chin resting atop her head. "You sure you're still up for going out though?" he asked.

Meanwhile, the demon was silently celebratory. It had been even easier to convince her than he had expected. Well, she seemed convinced. And even if she wasn't, she would be soon. In any case, it was a victory, and toying with her after this, making her believe she was insane, was certainly going to be good fun. And once she was broken and he couldn't toy with her any longer -or if he simply became bored with her- he would show her his true nature. That in itself would be good fun, the chaos he would leave behind sweet.

But for now, he would act the part of the caring, worried boyfriend. He would pretend to be Allan. She couldn't guess that it wasn't Allan, not for a long time yet, and by the time everything was perfectly seen, it would be too late.

What a beautiful game it was.
