Marie didn't even glance at the note until she got to a certain point where she knew pausing for a few minutes would've leave her behind. She had to catch up, after all. But when she did read it, she nearly just started laughing and had to stifle it quickly. But not as many oodles of fun as the word oodles? she wrote back with a small grin, waiting to pass it to him until Professor Whicker turned towards the board.

Cass quickly took the note back and read it, making sure to contain his laughter as he read it, and then began to scribble back down on the note,' Hey! Do not mock the massive respectivism of the word oodles. Yes, I just made a word up to support oodles. It deserves that much.' He then waited until the professor wasn't looking again before sliding it over to her.

As she read the note, Marie snorted. This earned her looks from those close enough to have heard it, but the professor seemed blissfully unaware. She resisted the urge to make scary faces at the kids, and settled on giving them all flat looks until they turned back to their notes. 'Remind me again why we're best friends? I know it isn't because you make up bogus words for stupid words, so I'm trying to understand right now what it is.' Once she got the chance, she passed the note back.

When Cass took the note and read it over, he get her a deadpan face as his shoulders jilted from a silent chuckle. He quickly took his pen and replied to her with,' Well, there's a long and complicated answer to that involving accessibility, aspects of life that we have in common as well as specifically interests- BUT I'll keep it short and sweet by saying that I am just freaking awesome. As for why I'm friends with you? It's probably because of that cute little snort that you do when you are laughing.' He then folded the paper back up and slipped it back onto her side of the table.

Knowing Cass, Marie had expected him to put something down about how 'cool' or 'awesome' or 'epic' he was in response to her question. He didn't disappoint. They had known each other for a while now, and had been extremely close for almost the entire duration of their friendship. If she didn't know Cass, no one did. He did surprise her however with commenting about how she sometimes snorted when she laughed. 'This means war' she wrote back and gave it back to him about a second before their professor decided to turn around and teach while facing the class.
