Charlotte was bundled up in clothes and a cozy scarf as the morning was colder than usual, she had opened the little bakery with McKenzi like they do often. She had hung up her coat and scarf in the staff room, while her brother turned on all the machines she set the chairs at the tables that were placed around the front of the bakery. Her eyes instantly shot towards the front door when it was pulled open, the bakery itself wasn't open. A small smile appeared on her face when Zayn and Liam stepped inside, "Good morning. I'll get you two a drink" She said sweetly as she walked around the counter, she started on making a coffee for Liam and a tea for Zayn.
Zayn yawned softly as he'd never get used to waking up that early, but the Adams family were paying them for protection and that's what they'll receive. "Morning" He mumbled softly and sat down on the closest chair to him, "Do you have anything to eat? I haven't had breakfast yet," He asked glancing over at McKenzi who he could see in the back of the bakery, part of him wished that the bakery wasn't in this part of town because of the danger. But then he liked it because he was able to see McKenzi, there was something about him that Zayn just liked. Not that he'd admit that to anyone.

(Sorry if that's not a good start)

Liam stepped in after Zayn and headed instantly towards the small bar like area that was aimed towards the people who would sit and eat their meal alone and then quickly leave. After the first few days or so he had gotten used to waking up by six and being out not more than fifteen minutes later, he was awake and a little dim from missing breakfast but knew just before the store opened he would have food and his over sweetened coffee out in front of him just the way he enjoyed it. "Morning Charlotte " Liam parroted, shrugging out of his jacket so his skin wouldn't over heat. He liked the shop, it was quite popular around and had not only air conditioning for he summer but a heater for the winter unlike many of the other shops around who were too cheap to get any official cooling or heating. "Morning McKenzie," he added, crossing his arms out in front of his chest as he watched Charlotte make drinks.
Usually McKenzie would start on some pastries for the morning, bake up some flaky croissants and start the mixtures for a couple of cupcakes and turn overs before counting their Inventory to know when it was time to order more mass food. But instead he was scrambling some eggs and making pancakes for Liam and crepes for Zayn as breakfast for the two, it was much better too feed the guys as they'd be in a better mood and his mother told him he ought to be nice to them. Adding a dash of salt into the fluffy and golden eggs McKenzie pushed them onto two with the spatula and flipped the pancakes, adding nutella and sugar to Zayn's crepe and finished off slipping the filled backing racks into the heated oven. His crew neck sweater and scarf had long been stripped from his body, a flimsy black long sleeve kept him just right as he walked into the main room and placed a plate of food in front of Liam, and then the other in front of Zayn with some utensils. "We're a bakery Malik, we always have food"

Zayn rolled his eyes when McKenzie set the plate of food in front of him, he took the utensils into his hands and cut a piece of his crepe. "I know there's always food here, what I meant was that I wanted food to already be cooked so I could eat it" He corrected himself after he swallowed the delicious nutella crepe that he'd never get sick of eating, once the heating warmed up the store he had to slide his black leather jacket from his body. Letting the material hand over the back of the chair he was sitting on, the guys had been paid for protection before but it was never anything like this. The Adams family were hard workers and were friendly, they deserved to have the bakery be popular but they didn't deserve having dick heads trying to steal from them. But people were just like that now and he was more than happy to teach those people a lesson.
Charlotte poured in the right amount of sugar into Liam's coffee before she added the milk, she placed the mug in front of him before she carried the mug of tea over to Zayn. "Do you two have anything else planned for the day?" She asked as she was always nice to the guys, no matter which ones turned up to keep an eye on the place. They were there to help them and she was naturally a very nice person to begin with, she walked back around the counter and made sure the display counter was clean and set to the right temperature to keep the food fresh. Her dark locks were tied up into a messy bun on the top of her head, she pulled out the bread and wraps so she could start on making breakfast sandwiches and wraps.

Picking up the fork and knife Liam made it his mission to cut the pancakes into even small triangle slices, just the way he like them, easy to dunk into the puddle of honey drenching the first pancake. One thing Liam would never take for granted was the Adams cooking, it seemed that someone always knew how to make one thing or another and if all else fails he could ask McKenzie to make him pancakes no matter the time of day. Looking up from the plate of food Liam smile, all warm and crinkled by his eyes at Charlotte,"I don't know about Zayn but I've got nothing as far as I'm concerned, just eating your food and protecting the shop" Liam said with a off caring shrug, playing it cool although his heart was intense in his chest and far too constricted by the tightness. Looking back down to the plate Liam dunked one small triangle into his coffee for a quick second before eating it. His eating habits were just the slightest bit strange compared to others.
McKenzie held back a laugh, lips pressed tight together as she suppressed a smile as well which he was quite failing at. "I cook for you guys more morning than not, by this point you should expect breakfast" Unless Zayn or someone else had gotten on McKenzie's bad side which wasn't as rarely as it should be, McKenzie having a horrible temper that he hadn't grown out of. Charlotte knew of it best, witnessed it first hand, been through it, McKenzie was a wild fire when he was upset, going from the silent treatment to screaming to throwing items till it all exhausted him. Tapping his fingers on the table McKenzie looked up at Zayn, his dark coloured, bambi like eyes watching the other fondly. Catching himself being an awful creep by just staring at the other eat McKenzie cleared his throat and grabbed a box by the cashier that was open, salt and sugar packets inside which he was to refill each table with.

Zayn had no idea that McKenzie had been watching him as he stuffed his face with his delicious eggs, no matter what he ate or at what time. He never was neat about it, it was even worse when he was hungry as he'd chew without breathing some times but that only ended with him gasping for air to fill his lungs. He wasn't even listening to what Liam was saying, he was more concerned about filling his empty stomach. However he did let his dark eyes follow McKenzie around as the other filled the small boxes on every table with more packets, Zayn was the type of person that enjoyed watching people and he didn't feel like a creep if he happened to stare at someone too long because that was just how he was. He was naturally a quiet person. "What are you doing after work, McKenzie?" He asked in his deep thick voice, his eyes still staying on the young man who was moving around the front of the bakery.
Charlotte glanced up as she looked at Liam, a smile settling on her face. "You better not eat all the food, we do have to feed the customers" She looked at him with her brown eyes, deep down she loved when Liam decided to stick around the store. Most of the time the guys had things to do, so they'd stay for a few hours until the bakery became busy and then they'd head off. She did make a face when she watched Liam eat his pancake that he had dipped into his coffee, she continued making the sandwiches and wraps before she piled them onto plates and set them in the glass counter. She quickly walked into the back of the bakery and slid tins full of dough into the large ovens, she set the timer knowing exactly how long the bread would take to bake. She also pulled out the tray of mugs from the dishwasher and carried the heavy load towards the front counter, where the coffee machine was.

"I'm sure you can make more food if I do eat all of it," Liam watched Charlotte work by the glass counter, leaving the pancake slice in the coffee for too long that it soaked the drink up and crumbled to the bottom of the glass. Once he had realized it Liam let it be, not bothered by it and figured he could later on eat it after he finished his drink if it tasted alright. He never really enjoyed being on watch, the last place that had hired him for protection was quite dingy and and a poor business, barely making money and and paying the bills. Liam didn't even understand as to why they needed protection when they were so rotten and had no business. He was glad that he was here now, one of the only things that made him feel rather happy and like he was a good citizen when in reality he was far from it. He felt like the bakery was his release. He sat around eating pastries and talking to Zayn for hours everyday, enjoy the small chattering noise filling the shop and occasionally going in the back to help the siblings pack or unpack. As he recalls there had been only once that he needed to get a little rough, a rowdy teenager who was more than just a little tipsy stumbling in during the night hours and causing a huge commotion, broke a few glasses and nearly hit an elder lady till Liam took him to the back and pumbled him bloody."Think it's gonna rain today?" Liam asked conversationally, moving his food around the plate like a child.
McKenzie was a bit of a perfectionist, and he had a slight tick with numbers. Each table had to have eleven sugars and eleven salt packets and the jokes on the back must never repeat as to why he always turned the packets around to read them and make sure. He had all the items on the tables directly in the middle, a little piece of clear tap marking where the bottle of honey should sit and then he decorated with packets around the honey. Going table by table McKenzie nearly missed what Zayn was asking him about, sort of blocking everything from his mind to get the ordering right."Probably die till the next morning" He replied easily, counting the sugar packets for the last table and then placing the box in the back, having to check on the morning croissants and deciding they were just right, with huge bright florescent green mittens Mckenzie walked back to the counter and slid the pastries onto the rack and left the glass door open so they wouldn't steam inside.

Zayn was used to having that answer given to him from McKenzie, honestly he didn't blame the other as he'd indulged in the idea of crawling back into bed and hiding under the covers. The siblings mostly opened the bakery, however their parents were easy if changing shifts and giving their children a must needed break once in a while. It was also safer in the morning than at night, he took a few more large bites of his breakfast before the plate was cleaned off. This had to be the best job that the guys had been given, they were able to protect a lovely family who truly did work hard and deserved the best. They also made sure that whoever was there in the bakery was feed and had a drink at all times, which they didn't need to because they already paid for the protection the guys gave them. It made Zayn work more when he was on watch, he felt like he was wanted there and considering the delicious food he was given just made him want to be there. "Isn't that what you always do? The weekend is coming soon, aren't you going out with friends?" He asked as he sipped his steamy hot tea.
"I suppose I could make more food, but if you keep eating everything then you're going to be a fatty" Charlotte told him smiling, she started taking the clean mugs from the tray and stacked them neatly beside the coffee machine. "It looks cloudy out there, but that doesn't mean it'll rain" She answered not worrying about less customers if it did start to rain, people still seemed to come in even in the pouring rain which was a very good sign. "But I hope it's not raining when I finish, I didn't bring my umbrella with me and I hate getting caught in the rain" Her dark curled hair went frizzy and that wasn't a good look on her, she was fine in the rain if she was just going home but if she was heading to work or just out in public she wanted to look her best.

I'll cover you with my jacket was all Liam could think at Charlotte's words. He was always honest in his head, his first thoughts so bare to the bone and never spoken. It's been six months, long lovely hours and more than a hundred treats, and he was sitting here with his hands clammy and his cheeks just the slightest pink as he spoke to the sole reason he was even a bit flustered. "I'm not going to be a fatty," he rebutted weakly, not being able to give a 'because' because he didn't have one. Liam had noticed he got a bit pudgy over the course of half a year here, but he couldn't find it in himself to care. The food was amazing and he was still fit, he'd stop when he had diabetes, maybe, not likely actually."In case it rains I could get an umbrella for you, don't think it'd be a good end to your day walking home drenched" Liam told Charlotte with a smile, getting up from the seat he had been on and grabbing the plate that had just a glop of honey and moving behind the counter so he could put it into the machine to clean.
McKenzie flinched at the mention of 'friends'. It was a sore spot for him, friends, the topic of friends, making them, it all made him cringe and feel queasy. He wasn't the best with people, wasn't like he was a complete asshole or that he made the wrong friends, it was his horrible anxiety that stopped him from keeping and making any new friends. It's what kept him from really speaking to Liam and Zayn for the first month of their services. McKenzie made it through high school with maybe four friends, none he would be willing to call up to hang with though. His life social life didn't do so well. His made friends best online, so was he going to go out with his friends the following weekend? No, they were thousands of miles away."Don't think I'll be able too, I die on weekends as well Malik, dying isn't only a weekday job" he tutted, slipping the mittens off and grinning,"Anyways, I need m hours clear so I could bail you out of jail when the time comes" he said jokingly.

Zayn chuckled softly, mostly to himself at McKenzie's comment. Although he honestly had no idea that McKenzie struggled with making friends and didn't in fact have any other than his sister, if he had known then he would have kept his mouth shut. "Maybe you should think about getting another job then just dying all the time, you may actually have fun sometime" He commented though it was light and had no pressure to it, he wasn't one who pressured anyone. Unless the person was shitty and he needed something from them, then he'd push and push until he got what he wanted. Though he'd never do anything like that with someone he liked, he did like McKenzie and was happy to protect the family business. He liked to pretend like he had heaps of friends, but in reality he didn't. He had the guys and that was it, he knew people wouldn't understand why he was in a gang or how he could physically hurt another human being. People didn't understand and he was sick and tired of explaining. "You think that I'd end up in jail? Come on now, you know that I'm smart enough to not get caught. Unless you want that as an excuse to do something or see me more, you could have just told me" He grinned playfully as he joked with the other.
Charlotte looked at Liam, "I wouldn't mind if you did become a fatty. Your face makes up for it," She laughed quietly to herself as Liam would always be handsome, she'd always be attracted to him in every sense of the word. However she'd never actually admit that to anyone, when it came to guys and dating, Charlotte wasn't confident and it showed in the lack of a love life that she had. But talking to Liam came easy to her for once, she didn't know why but she wasn't complaining. "I'll make sure to ask for that, if it does start to rain" She felt the warmth rush to her cheeks as she flushed, she turned around to find the saucers that matched the mugs. She didn't want he to see her blushing, she exhaled slowly and turned back only to find Liam making his way to the dishwasher. "I can do that, you know that you don't have to help in that way" She told him again, all the guys tended to do the same thing. They may be in a gang and could be tough when needed, but they had still been raised right.

Liam laughed to himself, a little nervous, a little happy, and so very much infatuated. "Glad my face is good enough" He kept the plate in his hand tight, he could do this himself. He wasn't going to sit around the shop and be feed and then not even do the small and fairly easy task of putting the mug or plate in the washer himself. His parents raised him better than that, aside from what he was doing now, he wasn't a bad guy, Liam didn't think he was completely at least. He helped elders cross the street and carried bags for them too, he often volunteered at the can food drive and even last week he walked a little boy home after seeing him get hit by some older bullies. Liam was not a bad guy. He hoped not. "I can do it, I've got two hands" Liam walked around Charlotte and placed the plate in the rack as well as his empty cup, the back of the bakery smelled sweet and was pristine though he knew by noon it would be covered up in flour and other ingredients when they had to make batches of food. "Are you free during noon? Deans place just started selling cotton candy, would you like to go for a bite?"
McKenzie scoffed at Zayn,"Another job? I'd rather not" McKenzie looked up at the ceiling, one of the lights had burned out a few days back but he had never really paid mind to get it fixed till now, seeing as he had time and had bought new bulbs last night. Going into the back he grabbed a black bag and took one of the new bulbs out, moving into the open area and grabbing a chair before he stepped on it, frowning as he could see his arms weren't going to reach the bulbs perfectly but he could give it a try. Just managing to unwind the dead bulb McKenzie took the new one out of the box and got onto his tippy toes to reach further up,"I get to see you far too much during the week already, I'd prefer my open hours to be Malik Free, getting real tired of your face" Sticking his tongue out the corner of his lips McKenzie just barely twisted the bulb in place.

Zayn watched McKenzie who changed the light bulb, he would have offered to help but he seemed to want to do it himself. If McKenzie needed help then he could easily ask for some, Zayn wouldn't have minded changing the bulb as he was taller than McKenzie and had longer arms. "At least now I know that I'm not wanted here, don't you worry about seeing me again" He grinned as he was acting dramatic, he found it easy to talk like this with McKenzie. Everything was light and friendly, they weren't serious and could be in comfortable silence if either of them had anything to say. Zayn wouldn't exactly call them friends, they only spent time together when Zayn was at the bakery during McKenzie's shifts. But he still liked him and got along with him, which was good considering how much time the guys actually did spend there with the Adams family. In fact talking and being around the whole family came to him with ease, considering what he did and how angry he could get, he especially got along with both pair of Grandparents. They reminded him of his own Grandparents, that he really did need to see more often.
Charlotte smiled as she watched Liam put his dishes in the washer, most times she forgot that the guys were in a gang and were there for protection. They didn't act like people that you should be nervous about or scared to be near them, at least that's how she saw them as she hadn't been there when someone threatened the bakery or anyone inside. The warmth in her cheeks didn't disappear, it only increased with more force as she looked at Liam. She was hoping this meant that he was asking her out on a date, she never once imagined herself wanting to date a gang member but then Liam came into her life and all that changed. "Yeah I'd love to go get some cotton candy with you" She smiled widely as the pink tint stained her cheeks, even if she told herself to calm down.

Liam wasn't going to be cocky or over confident but he had a feeling that Charlotte would have said yes, it was cotton candy after all. And who didn't like sugar? Turning around Liam couldn't stop from staring at her cheeks that had gone a beautiful shade of pink that was softly contrasting against her skin, and since he was already staring at her face he dropped his gaze down to her lips, plump and full and so, so pretty that he ought to just lean in and kiss them red and bruised, he ought to hold her up against the counter and not let go till the taste of her lips were engraved into his. Clearing his throat Liam nodded,"We'll have a right good time," he mumbled, moving quick to leave the back because he couldn't stay there much longer, not with the privacy of being away from her brother and Zayn. He knew he wouldn't do anything to Charlotte, not without her permission, but he felt like he was driving himself insane.
Hopping off of the chair once the bulb was snugly fit and working McKenzie rolled his eyes fondly,"I see you right now" McKenzie noted, pushing the chair back into place and moving past Liam so that he could check up on the rest of the pastries that were being backed. Once he stabbed the food with a pick and found it soft and still gooey he left them to bake for longer and grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge. There wasn't much else to do in the early mornings, refill the items, bake the food and just keep the place tidy till it was time to open. They had a good half hour left for that and in the mean time McKenzie sat at the bar like area with his legs crossed, fitting in the chair just right like a child and took his phone out.

Zayn grinned more to himself than to anyone else, standing up from the chair he carried his plate and mug around to the back where the dish washer was. Placing his dishes inside, he shut the door and slowly moved around the front of the store. He noticed a few people outside on the streets which was normal, some where coming home from a night shift and the others were already heading to work. It was still too early for the bakery to be open, he glanced over to where McKenzie was sitting. "So your just going to ignore me again? Like most mornings" He said jokingly as he sat back on the chair that he was before, this was common though so he honestly didn't mind if McKenzie was stuck on his phone. He had sat there in silence because he was doing something on his phone, when they had to wait for opening then there wasn't much for them to do.
Charlotte had noticed Liam looking at her which only caused her blush to linger longer than she liked, "It will be a good time. Cotton candy makes everything better" She said softly and bit down onto her bottom lip, something inside of her was yelling for her to do something with Liam. He was right there and she did really like him, she may not have this chance again for a while and even though she was nervous, she knew she had to do something. Her stomach was filled with nerves, "Liam. Could you help me in the back, please?" She asked and quickly walked into the back store room, she needed a few bags of flour carried in for later on when she baked up bread for the afternoon rush. She watched as Liam followed her into the room, "I need two of each" She told him as she took a bag of self-raising and plain flour into her arms, she inhaled deeply as she leaned up slightly and pressed her soft lips to his cheek. Feeling his facial hair tickle her skin, "Thank you" She said looking at him, hoping that she didn't cross the line.

Turning back Liam followed after Charlotte into the back where bags of flour and self raising flour laid on the ground, piled one against another. Once Charlotte grabbed a bag herself, Liam went in for one of each and shifted them in his arms so that they didn't strain on his arms, not realizing what Charlotte had been doing till it was so quickly over. Blinking Liam felt frozen to his spot, the bags of flour in his arms a little heavy and probably the only items that were keeping him grounded from freaking out or over thinking. Swallowing the lump in his throat Liam nodded, taking it as what it seemed, a thank you."No problem really" he said, moving the bags of flour from the back and into the kitchen for when she needed to use them. Liam felt his cheeks were hot, and he knew he was pink but he ignored it and blamed it on the heat inside of the shop.
"Well that was the plan" McKenzie huffed, looking up from his phone and sending Zayn a glare with no heat behind it because he honestly didn't mind being disrupted, especially when it was Zayn doing the disrupting. "Come and sit beside me and I'll ignore you a little less maybe," He said with a private smile on his lips, welcoming Zayn to sit by him. McKenzie thinks he does well, fairly well now, with his feelings. Quickly after the break up, or whatever it could be called McKenzie was back at being his 'normal' self with Zayn, as if nothing had ever happened between the two which was awful and great at the same time. Each time Zayn got close to him, close enough to kiss or cuddle against he didn't feel like his life was ending, like he was searing hot and on the cusp of breaking apart. Not to say that he felt one hundred percent better now because he doesn't, nor does he think he will in the near future, but he does think he's getting better at ignoring it all.

Zayn didn't need to be told twice, he was standing up and pushing the chair back under the table in only a few short seconds. Taking large long steps, it wasn't long before he was sitting down beside McKenzie and for a little while things felt like before. When they were somewhat together and happy with what they had, however Zayn was quick to push that all to the back of his mind as it only hurt him when he thought about it. "You know that I don't like being ignored by you" He spoke quietly so only McKenzie would hear him, those words were just between the two of them much like how they had spoken before. "I'm sure that I could be more interesting then that phone" He knew that he should have stopped before he said that to McKenzie, but it came natural to him like when they were together and he could speak like that. Now it didn't feel wrong, but it did feel like he wasn't allowed to talk like that even if he wanted to and it did feel right.
Charlotte followed Liam out of the room and placed the bags of flour onto the counter where bread was made, it was her time to stare at the pinkness on his cheeks. She admired the shade of pink as it really suited Liam and made him even more handsome, she wasn't sure what way he had taken her kiss as it was simple and more like a thank you kiss. If that was the case then she was going out with him later on that day, she could make sure that she gave him plenty of hints. She checked the time, noticing they still had time before opening. She stood in the back and pulled out the hot freshly baked bread from the oven with her pale pink mitts, she hit the tins so the bread would fall out onto the cooling racks. Either herself or McKenzie would slice the bread when customers brought one, she put the tins to the side to cool down before they were used later on for the afternoon batch of bread.

Liam walked into the back room once again to grab the last two bags and lugged them into the kitchen, placing them gently onto the table so the powder inside didn't poof out. Liam loved just before the shop opened, when the tables were empty and the place was silent but the soft buzz of the heater going. It was comforting, it was a moment of silence and tranquility and then the people would start to trickle in one by one till it was a flood at noon and things were so hectic that it wasn't uncommon that there was a baking mess in the back.He was hoping though, that the rush wasn't too intense that Charlotte wanted to stay back and help a little longer as he was selfish and wanted to keep her to himself for the very least span of ten minutes. "I like the colour of your mittens"
The air felt thicker once Zayn was by his side, warm and wrapping around his body tightly,"And I don't like ignoring you" McKenzie murmured, his eyes focused on the screen of his phone, his tumblr dashboard staring back at him with an image of a cat and fox running side by side. He couldn't bring himself to look at Zayn. He probably looked beautiful as always, McKenzie bets his eyelashes are just as long as they use to be and his cheekbones sharper than before, it's never a shock to look at Zayn and stumbled over the flat ground or knock into the side of a door. Holding his phone tight in his hand McKenzie shrugged a moment later,"Don't know about that Malik, from dandy phone has angry bird and the Kim Kardashian game and you have neither" McKenzie rarely ever spoke his mind or gave straight forward answers, dodging even the easiest of questions and statements.

Zayn had to force himself not to touch McKenzie, not even give him a soft nudge like he has before. Them not being together was his fault and he knew that, he had caused this as he had pushed NcKenzie away because he was honestly scared. Not much could scare him, but having someone close to you get hurt be because they knew you was something that scared Zayn the most. He hadn't admitted it yet, only tell McKenzie that he didn't like the other and that it had just been something fun. He had lied straight to his face, in fact Zayn cared more about McKenzie then anyone else in his life at the moment. "I don't know why Kim Kardashian needs a game, they make enough money as it is" He'd never understand people that enjoy watching reality shows, he found them to be so boring.
"Thank you, these ones are my favourite" Charlotte told him as her Mom had brought both her and McKenzie new mittens, when their old ones were loosing padding so the heat could be felt. She couldn't wait for her time alone with Liam, this would be the first time that have spent away from the bakery for a very long time. She once saw him coming out of a gym and then went to have a meal with him, but it was nothing like and she was so excited. "I wish it was noon now, I can't wait until my shift is over" She smiled wanting Liam to know that she was looking forward to going out with him.

Liam tilted his head to the side slightly and laughed,"You do know that the shop hasn't even opened yet right?" he asked as he leaned against the counter where dough was to be rolled out. He couldn't wait till noon either but didn't feel like he could voice himself, a little bit shy, an a little bit angsty to say anything that could be taken too strong. He wanted to play this right, he knew he was in no perfect position to date anyone who was so good and kind like Charlotte, but he sure as hell could try his best. If he didn't have the job he was in now he would most definitely hit on Charlotte more and probably be more vocal, asked her out a month ago even."Mind if I get a slice from the butter bread? It's been eyeing me since it came out of the oven"
"Hey, either you stay there either you accept Kim as queen or you move your bum back over to the other seat" McKenzie 'snapped', more so pouting at up Zayn with his best little lip quiver and big brown eyes. He didn't care much for Kim, or any of the Kardashians, he just enjoyed the rather addicting game like the other hundred of thousands of peoples(admitting mostly girls). "Your negativity isn't welcomed anywhere in this shop" McKenzie help his phone close to his face, hiding his smile behind the screen though the indent of his dimples gave away his smile. He spent lot of time on his phone, nearly as much as he did with his camera which was tucked safely in it's bag and off in the back of the kitchen. McKenzie would probably 'die' if he was left without his phone, or complain till someone gave him their to play with.

Zayn couldn't see the smile on McKenzie's face but he did see the dimples in his cheeks, the dimples that he had fallen in love with although he had never mentioned the 'L' word which he really should have but was too scared to. "Fine, I'll deal with her and try to stay positive. I'm not making any promises though and it is a stupid game" He said knowing that McKenzie didn't actually enjoy the Kardashians but he was always on his phone, mostly playing games which he did enjoy so Zayn used to just watch him in a non creepy way. He just liked seeing the focus on his face as he held his phone way too close to his face, it was incredibly adorable and it was something that he missed so much. He missed McKenzie more than he thought he would, but he couldn't do anything now because he was sure McKenzie was moving on from him.
"Hey, you should be glad that I'm excited about going out with you. The last date I went on was horrible, so I'm allowed to be excited" Charlotte smiled at him and she knew that he wasn't the type to really talk about how he was feeling, in fact she was pretty sure that she had never actually heard him express how he felt. It was fine by her because not everyone was the same when it came to that kind of thing, it probably also had something to do with him being in a gang and needed to be in control. "Of course you can, but are you sure it was eyeing you and not the other way round? I've seen the need in your eyes when something nice comes out of the oven" She smiled as she handed him a plate and a knife so he could cut as much of the butter bread that he liked, it'd be easy for her to bake more if she needed to.
