Lennox stood in the coffee shop line as she waited to get her latte. She sighed as she held her bag in her hand that contained her sketch books and everything. She was pretty glad she was finally going to get to show someone her work. Hopefully her work would be put out there so her work could finally be seen by everyone.
Thomas straightened his collar and finished tuning his guitar. His band mates surrounded him, joking, laughing. They were crammed into the corner of a coffee shop, a small side gig for the evening. Once he was sure that every string was near perfect pitch, he nodded to the drummer, Jake. Jake rolled his drumsticks against the drums and started a slow, gentle beat. They'd decided to do a few soft acoustic songs first in their set.
Thomas struck a chord on the guitar, his fingers firm. Then, they became fluid, dancing along the frets. He focused only on the guitar, everything around him became a blur except for the steady beat of the drum. Once the song came to a close, Thomas set the guitar down. He stood and stretched his back, glancing around the coffee shop. They'd actually attracted quite a few listeners.
He saw a girl waiting in line - her hair was a vibrant red. She was ridiculously beautiful, he thought to himself.
Lennox was glad when she got her coffee, "Thanks." She said to the girl behind the counter. She turned to walk out when she caught the eye of the guitarist that had just been playing. He was pretty good and not to mention he was cute. She watched as he was alone and putting his guitar away. Lennox walked over to him, "You're really good." She said with a small smile. Lennox was a firm believer that if a person saw something they wanted then they could go after it.
Thomas narrowed his eyes as she approached. He couldn't decide at first if he liked that she was forward or not. In the end, he decided confidence was admirable, and smiled back at her lightly. What did she want from him?
"Thank you, pretty girl," he said with a shy sort of smirk. His fingers snapped all the clasps on his guitar case quickly. "What's your name?" He asked gently, as his bandmates began to join him again.
Lennox looked at him, "I'm Lennox and you are?" She asked as she offered her hand to him. She let go of his hand slowly, "So do you play here all the time or is this just a one time gig?" She asked. She knew her friend was waiting outside but she wanted to know more about this guy.
