All At Once

I sighed a little, looking at him. "But Audrey." I said softly, not wanting to leave her.

He looked at her nervously and grabbed her, leading her over to the bookshelf. He pushed it open, showing a hide out room. "Come on
on, get inside." He said quietly, moving fast and.grabbing the phone to call the police.

"We don't have much of a choice," he said to her,"She will be fine,"

She walked into the room and looked at him, grabbing his hand. "You're staying with me, right?" she whispered as she walked into the room.

He sighed a little, he was going to go see what it was. "Sure," he said softly, going in and shutting the bookshelf. He pressed a button, signaling the police. "I deal with many high profile cases. This seemed like the best idea to keep safe."

I sighed a little, starting to panic. "Will I see her before we leave?"

"I don't know," he said as he looked at her,"But you need to calm down,"

She nodded a little as she stood there with him, "What if they're here to kill me?" she asked him as her eyes began to water.

I shook my head, feeling a panic attack start. I rarely got them but the thought of leaving was triggering it. "I can't. I don't want to leave Audrey. She's all I have left." I said, my breathing beginning to speed up.

He shook his head. "The police are on their way. And no one can get in here, so we're safe. Don't worry."

She looked at him and nodded a little as she held onto his arm tightly and closed her eyes, she heard the sirens and crashing in the house.

He sighed and walked over to her and pulled her into his arms,"I will do what I can but we might have to leave before we see her," he said.

I squeezed my eyes shut and held onto him tightly. I took a couple of deep breaths, trying to calm myself down. "Okay. Okay."

The officer pulled out his walkie talkie, putting it to his ear. "We need you to keave now. Pack immediately, we'll have the plane ready by noon. Audreys with her greif counselor and the house just got attacked. We have reason to believe that they're planning their attacks to happen in order. We need to evacuate you right now." He said seriously, speaking into the walkie quickly.

My eyes widened, and I looked at Ryan anxiously. "What's happening to Audrey? She's safe right? Right?"

He held her and rubbed her back softly. "We're going to need to leave immediately. You might not get to see your sister before we leave. She's probably being evacuated now." He told her softly. "Is there anything in particular you want from your house? We probably won't be able to go pick it up ourselves." He told her, speaking softly to calm her down.

He held her tighter to him and let out a breath, if anything had happened to her - she'd lose her mind.

"As far as we know they're fine. Bryan has a safe room in his house," he said, "Police are with them now, so quickly pack we don't have time to lose,"

She nodded,"I uhm, I need you know my makeup obviously," she murmured, "Tell them. if she is still there to pack my stuff and leave it on my bed in my suitcase. She'll know what I need,"

He nodded and spoke into the walkie, before opening the wall. He didn't let go of her, she was shaking too much. "I'm having Dani pack for you, she's being evacuated within the hour. I'm sorry that you might not see her before she leaves." He said softly.

The officer nodded and held the walkie to his ear. "Alright, they're fine. She asked that you pack for her. They're fine. Whoever attacked left immediately, not expecting us to be there so quickly. But we need to evacuate you now. Go pack, and set a bag for Audrey. I'll be taking you to the airport and then going to get Audrey and her counselor." He said, speaking into the walkie.

I buried my face in his chest, not knowing what to think or do. This was all happening so fast it was scaring me.

She nodded a little and buried her face into his chest, "I'm scared," she whispered as she held onto him.

He nodded,"Come on, lets pack quickly then pack her bag okay?" he said to her.

He sighed a little, holding her and stroking her back. "I know. But I'm going to keep you safe." He promised, watching the police walk around the room.

"Your sister is being evacuated. She's packing for the both of you and leaving. We're going to take you directly to the airport, and while you're waiting for the flight, your bag will be brought to you. For safety, we're taking you to separate airports." An officer said. "This is Officer Smith. He's going to brief you on the details of your witness protection."

Officer smith smiled and gestured for them to sit. "You're being relocated to Colorado. You'll pose as the Kwon family. You're newlyweds who just arrived in your new home. You can come up with whatever background you'd like as long as there are no similarities to your original one. Once they're caught, you'll be able to return to normal should you wish to. Any questions?"

Bryan looked ather and sighed. "Do you have any? I'm going to go pack, do you want to come with me?"

I nodded a little and turned to go upstairs, going to my room. I pulled out a suitcase and began putting things inside, my hands shaking slightly as i did. I didn't know what to do think. My entire world was changing. I packed as quickly as possible, putting all things of importance into a bag and sealing it up. I made sure to pack a picture of my family, even though I'd need to keep it hidden.

I turned to go into Audrey's room doing the same. I knew what she would want things like her makeup and clothes, but I also snuck a picture into her bag. I pulled out a piece of paper and sat down on the floor writing to her as quickly as possible. I knew I wouldn't get to see her, but I wanted her to know that I wanted to say goodbye.



Audrey,

They're telling me that I need to go pack for us and that I won't see you before I leave... I don't know what to do. You're all I have left and they're pulling us apart. I can't tell you where I'm going, in case this gets seen by someone else. Be strong. I know I haven't had much to say recently but I want you to know you're my best friend and that I love you so much. You've been there for me my entire life. No matter what happens, we'll see each other again. But until then I need you to be strong, and try to smile again. I know you've been forcing yourself to smile for my sake and to pretend everythings okay. Do it for real. I've got to go now, but I want you to know that.

I stuffed the note into her favorite eyeshadow palette, knowing that she usually did her makeup in private. She hated the expressions she made when she did her eyes. I put her bag at the foot of the stairs and got mine, going to Ryan.

Audrey shook her head,"No," she said to him softly as she looked at him, "No questions," she murmured gently as she sighed. Then held onto his arm nodding to go with him, not wanting to be alone. She was far too scared to be left alone right now.

Ryan looked at her,"You ready?" he asked her softly as he smiled weakly.

I shook my head a little, wrapping my arms around him. "Not really." I said softly, leaning my head on his shoulder. "But i don't have a choice."

He nodded a little, walking her upstairs and grabbing a bag. He began putting things inside, looking up at her every couple of seconds. "Breathe, I need you conscious."

She will be just fine," he said to her lightly, "I know it, Bryan is trained with a gun and knows police tactic as well as any officer. It's why he was chosen for her greif counselor,"

She nodded a little and sat on his bed waiting for him to finish packing, "will they give us money to go shopping on our for new stuff, I probably still won't have enough things," she murmured.

He nodded. "They'll be buying us a home and everything. We'll have money for whatever we need." He said softly, closing up his bag. "Are you ready?"

I nodded a little, grabbing my bag and heading towards the door as the other officer beckoned us out. I looked at Ryan and sighed. "You volunteered to come with me?"

She nodded,"Yeah, I'm ready," she said to him softly as she licked over her lips lightly, "Do we go now?"

He nodded."yes." He said to her lightly.

I was lead out to the car by the officer but it was awkward because I refused to let go of Ryan. "Why?" I asked curiously. "Not that I'm not happy. If it were anyone else I would probably be crazy right now.... Well... crazier than I am now at least." I mumbled as I was put into a seat.

He nodded a little, grabbing his bag. "Yes, we're being sent to a different airport. Come on, you'll meet your things there." He said, wrapping an arm around her as they walked downstairs.

"Because, I couldn't hand you off to someone else like that." he told her.

She nodded a little and walked with him down the stairs, her heart was still beating nearly out of her chest.

I nodded a little, letting my bag be put inside of the trunk of the car. I put my head on his shoulder, and closing my eyes. They began driving us to the airport and focusing on him was the only thing keeping me from hyperventilating. "We're going to Connecticut? What else do I have to know?"

He held her tightly, listening to the direction of the officer. "Come on, we're leaving now. Your sister has already gotten to the airport. Our flight is the next one out."

"Well we're pretending to be married so we need new names," he said to her softly. "they only gave us last names,"

She nodded and walked into the car and climbed in, everything was moving so quickly.
