Roxie got up once the church service was over and walked outside on the steps of the church. She listened to the lady in front of her, "I'll be sure to pray for him Mrs. Golden." She said, smiling. Her smile was one that could light up a whole room and make people feel like life was worth living. She looked over when she heard someone speaking to her Roxie realized it was Tanner Jackson, bad boy of the town. "That's because i got to be sure to make up for all the bad things you do." She said, giggling a little. Sure everyone knew that he was one of the bad boys of the town. Nothing too serious besides getting a little too rowdy on the weekends. Though that was something that her father probably wanted her to stay away from. "I think i have plenty of fun in my life right now." She said. Though in the back of her mind she wanted to go somewhere with him. Tanner wasn't a bad guy when it came to treating people a certain way. Though she had heard he had his way around the ladies in this town. Pregnancy scares didn't stay quiet for long. Roxie looked over as her daddy walked out. She watched as he placed his hand on Tanner's shoulder. "Glad you could finally make it to my service Mr. Jackson." He said, chuckling. "Perhaps me and Roxanne will be seeing more of you on Sundays." He spoke calmly. Roxie smiled at the two of them then looked over when she saw Tanner's mother approached. She felt so bad for the lady who's husband got kill in the mines a few years back. Roxie looked at Tanner again, letting her eyes meet her. They had an innocent, but yet wild child look to them. She watched as her dad walked away then she looked at Tanner, "Guess i will be seeing you around then." She said softly. She turned then walked down the stairs before she started talking to one of the older ladies who got her attention. Tanner's mom looked at him, seeing the look he gave Roxie, "Tanner please don't ruin this for us." She said softly, not sure of her son's intentions.
Luke threw the last bail of hay with a few farm hands and wiped the sweat from his forehead. Sure at his age he shouldn't be out with all these young kids but someone had to set them straight. He made his way towards the house, stepping on the back of the wrap around porch before he made his way to the front. His cowboy boots hitting the wood with each solid step. He leaned against the rail looking at Katie, "What do you think miss Kate?" He asked as he looked out in front of them. Luke was well away of that girl carrying a baby, but it wasn't his place to call her out on it. After all he was just an old friend helping out. Katie would tell everyone on her own time. "Everything is pretty much done for today except i gotta feed the cattle again in a few hours. Then we can finally relax." He said with a smile. He was relieved when he saw there was a fresh bottle of water on the table. He grabbed it and took a sip of it.
