Feels like Snow in September

After months of working, saving, and scraping pennies, the rental was finally theirs for the month. Jason couldn't remember a time being this excited for a vacation, hell, even her first time to Disneyland wasn't as exciting as this was. Maybe it was because she and Ella could finally get away from their lives and spend some time at the beach marveling at the wonder that would be toned men jogging shirtless on the beach. Mm, that was a pleasant thought. Jason pulled the car into the house's small driveway, cutting the engine shortly after. Ella had slept the last hour or so of the ride but Jase couldn't really blame her, she'd been having a rough few weeks, but now she was away from all of the shit at home, so at least Ella could take her mind off of some of those things. Jason unbuckled her seat belt and looked over at the sleeping girl, reaching a hand out to move some of the hair from her face. "Hey," she said softly, "El, we're here, c'mon."

Harry sat cross legged on the hotel bed, tossing his phone on the bed as Louis and Niall came into his room, arguing loudly over which superhero character would kick the other's ass. He was pretty used to their squabbles, and this one had been well discussed over the years, so he knew that naturally, Louis would end the argument on some valid point and the both of them would drop it entirely. "Guys," he said, causing the two of them to look over, "Let's get out, 'm bored as all outdoors. I've spent an hour on Twitter and I can feel myself wanting to...disconnect from everything," he motioned outwards, as if trying to push everything technology related away from himself. "We've got, like, four days to ourselves before our last show, we should go do something. Anyone hungry?"

Ella was really glad that they'd agreed to share the task of driving to their rental house for the vacation. It was a really long drive, but so worth it. There was no point booking flights there either because they simply had too much stuff - the car filled to the brim with just about everything they'd need for the month. Ella had driven from when they left until lunch time when they pulled over to grab food and swap so that Jason could drive. Ella had eventually managed to fall asleep, and for once she felt like she could relax and just breathe. She twitched, jumping a little when she felt a hand brush against her face and her eyes fluttered open. She blinked a few times before she looked at Jase and smiled. "Finally," she murmured, her voice still laced with sleep. She glanced up at her house in front of them as she climbed out of the car. "Who would have thought that we'd actually get here, right?" She said with a laugh, the excitement for the month ahead bubbling up again.

Louis scoffed, rolling his eyes when Niall tried to make another argument for Batman being the ultimate superhero and Louis was just so offended by that, that he didn't even reply to the Irishman. He headed over to Harry's bed, flopping down on it beside his friend, laying on his stomach, face pushed into the pillow. He groaned when Harry said that he was bored and wanted to do something, because Louis could really do with a nap. Naps were good and there weren't crazy fans while he napped. Well, he hoped not anyway. He did perk up a little though, when Harry asked if anyone was hungry. "I could eat," he said as he lifted his head, and looked over at Niall for confirmation, who obviously nodded. "What about Li and Zayn?" He asked, rolling off the bed to stand up.

Jason smiled and took the keys out of the ignition, shoving them in her pocket as she dug in the other to retrieve the right set for the house. "It took us long enough," she said, walking up to the front door and unlocking it, "Let's have a look around before settling in, just in case we find any damages." Jason pushed the door open and stepped inside, smile only widening as she looked around. The house was so open and so nicely furnished - those were mainly the reasons why Jase and Ella picked that house in the first place. Well, that and it was within their price range. As she walked around the downstairs area inspecting the house, a little note propped up on the breakfast bar caught her attention. She picked it up and opened it, reading the message aloud: "'Dear Ms. Matthews and Ms. Thomas, we hope you'll find everything is in top notch condition. If you have any problems or questions about the area, give us a call. Thanks again! From, Clara and Jacob.' I have half a mind to call and ask where the nearest male strip club is."

Harry shrugged at Louis' question. "I really thought Liam was with you two, I've not the slightest idea where Zayn is. I'll shoot him a text and see where he's at." He made a reach for his phone, groaning slightly as he kept reaching it for it. Damn, he didn't mean to toss it that far away from himself. Niall, obviously noticing his struggle, walked over and picked up the phone before tossing it into his lap. "Thanks Niall," he said, offering the blonde a cheeky grin as he unlocked his phone and shot Zayn a text questioning his whereabouts. "I could really go for a burger, if I'm being honest," Harry interjected, "Can one of you look for a place off the beach?"

Ella stretched her arms above her head, joints popping because she'd been cooped up in the car for hours on end. She could feel a warm breeze coming from the sea just behind the house and she couldn't wait to spend her days there. She followed Jase inside the house, raising her eyebrows in surprise at how nice the place was. The pictures didn't do it justice. "This is amazing," she murmured, walking into the open planned kitchen and dining room. She walked over to Jase when she started speaking leaning against the breakfast bar to read the note over her friend's shoulder. "Or the nearest restaurant," Ella grinned, already hungry again. Travelling made her hungry. She walked towards the other end of the kitchen, opening up the double doors which let out onto the garden. "Holy shit, Jase!" She almost yelled, a huge grin on her features. The garden was amazing. All green grass and flowers, with a small patio area where they could also eat. It wasn't huge, but the sand was only a stone's throw away and the sea looked amazing. "We're moving here for good, I don't care what you say."

Louis shook his head. He hadn't seen Liam since they checked into the hotel. He assumed that the boy must be taking a nap, or on the phone to his girlfriend or something. "A burger place sounds good," he said, stomach grumbling as if in agreement to Louis' words. He pushed the doors of Harry's balcony open, stepping outside so he could have a smoke. He grimaced when he heard loud screams coming from below and he spotted about twenty fans camped outside the hotel. "Fuck sake," he muttered, stepping back inside and slamming the balcony door shut behind him. It had been a long tour that wasn't quite over yet, and he was just so tired. The fans were amazing, he couldn't deny that. But fuck they did get on his nerves at times. He ran his fingers through his hair and pulled his phone out to check for local places where they could eat. "There's a grill near here, literally on the sea front." He said, glancing at Harry. "We'd need to get the car to pick us up from behind the hotel though." He said, hoping that the boys would get the hint that he wasn't in the mood to sign autographs and take pictures out the front.

Jason made a noise of agreement when Ella mentioned a restaurant. The lunch they had eaten wore off hours ago, and she could feel her stomach rumbling at the idea of eating again, especially from a local diner or some sort. Jase was about to call Clara until Ella's exclamation sounded from outside, causing her to follow after the girl, eyes widening at the site of their little patio. "Holy shit," she repeated, smiling as a light breeze blew her hair back. The smell of the ocean was beginning to make its way into the house and to be honest, Jason didn't mind it one bit. "Ugh, I wish we could afford to move here for good," Jason murmured, "But hey, we've got the place for a month, let's make the best of it, yeah?" Jason walked back to the breakfast bar, reading over the number once more before entering it into her phone and pressing the 'call' button. She rested the phone between her ear and her shoulder as she slid her flannel off, tying it around her waist as the woman answered the phone.

"That's what you get for smoking," Harry chided, "A face full of screams - just the right type of punishment to keep you inside." The fans had always been pretty rambunctious, always excited to see any one of the boys, no matter where the location. Sure, they all missed their privacy, but once they decided that they wanted to be a band, their privacy dwindled away as the fame started to increase. "Okay, Zayn's out with that guy from The Cab, uh, Alex, I believe? He's got Liam with him, he said they'll be back later on tonight." Knowing the two of them, Zayn and Liam were probably getting tattoos with Alex, or drawing some up to get when all of them got together, except for Niall. God, that kid needed to get at least something soon. "Niall, text Paul and see if they can send a car 'round so we can go eat." Harry pulled himself off of the bed to put his boots on and grab his wallet, though he wasn't entirely sure if he'd even need it or not. His outfit was pretty casual, just a white v-neck and black jeans, and today was one of those days that he'd opted for a ponytail inside of keeping his hair down. What? Sue him.

Ella let out a soft sigh, nodding when Jase mentioned that at least they had the place for the whole month. Ella still couldn't believe that they were actually there. Especially with all the shit going on back home, she was so excited to get away with her best friend. When she heard Jase on the phone, she turned around and headed back inside. She looked through some of the cupboards in the kitchen, seeing only a few basics in there. They had a lot of food in their car, but would still need to stock up from the store as well. She wasn't even bothered about that yet, though. All she wanted was go out to eat and then head to the beach before the sun went in. She wasn't even bothered about changing her outfit, just leaving her vest and shorts on because it was so warm. She ran her fingers through her hair before heading back out to the car, grabbing the important bags from the car and hauling them inside, struggling a little with her pathetic excuse for muscles.

Louis' only reply to Harry was to stick his middle finger up at him, feeling especially grouchy because he couldn't have a smoke. He was hoping that he'd have a chance for a smoke before they ate. He wasn't surprised at Liam and Zayn's whereabouts, nor would he be surprised if they showed up that evening with new tattoos. Louis had been thinking about getting another one too, but he just didn't know what yet. He patted the pockets of his jeans, checking to see if his phone and wallet was in there, heading to the door when Niall said Paul had arranged a car for them. He took a glance in the mirror, fixing his hair that was styled in a quiff. He was wearing a loose black t-shirt, sinfully tight black jeans and an old scruffy pair of Vans. "Let's go eat," he said, grinning so big his eyes were all squinty and cute.

Jason picked up the pen that had been left next to the note and began writing the address down on the back of it. It was some family owned grill right off the water that Clara promised to serve the best food they've ever had. All in all, she was pretty excited to stuff her face in a few minutes. She hung up the phone and slid it back into her pocket, laughing a bit as Ella came back in with some of the bags, obviously needing a hand. "You couldn't wait another minute?" Jase teased, heading over to take one of the bags from her and setting it down in the living room. "Let's grab the food and at least put everything on the counter. I'd rather have room temperature food than hot food that sprouted legs and walked out of the car."

Harry stuck his tongue out in response, not really feeling the need to pester an already grumpy Louis. Hell, maybe he'll be able to cut back on how much he smokes as long as fans continue to wait outside balconies and whatnot. Louis would get an earful from their management if those photos began circulating around the internet, plus he'd hear it from outspoken fans as well. When Lou smiled, Harry couldn't help but smile a little back at him. "I'm gonna get a milkshake," he informed the two other boys as he started out of the room, "When's the last time you've had a spectacular milkshake? It's been too long for me."

Ella couldn't help but laugh when Jason teased her, shaking her head, grateful that her friend took some of the bags. "Wanted to hurry so we could go eat," she admitted, a cheeky grin on her features. She nodded in reply to Jase, heading back out to the car and grabbing the last of the food bags. She saw that there was still a load of bags left which were mostly filled with their clothes and other shit that they just had to bring. "Remind me why we decided not to pack lightly?" She asked with a groan, a little pout on her lips as she headed back inside to the kitchen. She was trying to move as quickly as she could, eager to go out, eat and explore the area they were calling their new home for the next month.

"That sounds good," Louis nodded, his stomach grumbling in agreement at the thought of a milkshake. "I'm going to get a huge burger," he said as they walked down the hallway, leaving Niall to close the door behind them. "Or a steak." He added, thoughtful for a moment. He slung an arm over Niall's shoulders as they got into the lift, pressing the button for the lobby. He assumed they'd be sneaking out through the kitchen entrance or something to try and escape the fans. He just hoped that they wouldn't find them at the restaurant. "I've got the directions on my phone so it shouldn't take us too long to get there." Louis said as the elevator doors opened and they stepped out into the lobby. Paul was there to greet them and lead them out the back way where the car was waiting for them.

"Understandable," Jason replied, helping out with the last of the food bags. They could leave their clothes and whatever else they threw into another suitcase in there for a while as they ate. "Don't know," she answered honestly, "I feel like if we would've left some stuff at home, we would've missed it. Like the Xbox, except I use that everyday so I would've actually missed it." So maybe Jason was a little too obsessed with Fifa 15, but they also used the gaming system to go on Netflix as well, so it wasn't like Jase was hogging the Xbox. "Alright, we'll get the rest of that shit later, let's go stuff our faces." Jase pulled the car keys out of her pocket and headed outside again, smiling at the thought of being able to sit down and eat without having to worry about driving for hours on end.

Harry leaned against the wall of the elevator, hands lazily folded across his chest. "I assume Ni's gonna eat about everything he can," he said, chuckling at the hit in the chest he received, "You're a growing boy, I understand what you're going through." He was pretty sure that regardless of the location, fans were gonna find them anyways. It was pretty inevitable. All that he hoped was that the owners of the restaurant at least tried to handle the manner in an orderly fashion to keep the peace between them and the ecstatic people chanting their names and snapping pictures of them. Harry opened the door to the black SUV and climbed in, greeting the driver politely and giving him a nice clap on the shoulder.

Ella hummed in thought in reply to Jason, thinking she was absolutely right. They weren't going to want to spend every single day out and about - and they were bound to be suffering from hangovers at some point so bringing a few extra home comforts would be nice. Her eyes lit up when Jason said they could leave the rest of the shit and she hurried outside, pulling the front door shut behind her and Jase. "You drive there, I drive back?" She asked her friend as she climbed into the passenger side of the car. She scrunched her nose up at all the food wrappers and junk that they had collected on their drive to the house, and she kicked them away but it didn't do much good. Oh well, they she could sort it when they got home and decided to unpack again.

Louis couldn't help but laugh at his friends, rolling his eyes with Niall tried to act offended at Harry's comment. It was probably true anyway. He followed his friends into the car, but instead climbing into the passenger seat beside the driver rather than in the back with his bandmates. He only did it so he could show the driver the directions on his phone. Once they were all in, the driver set off. He seemed to have good knowledge of the roads - taking all the back ones to avoid the fans out the front. The calm was nice but he knew it wasn't going to last. It never did. But hopefully he could have a smoke and eat before the shit hit the fan again. "Mate, you'll wait out the front yeah? In case we need to make a quick escape?" He asked, just wanting to double check with the driver, who nodded and promised them he wouldn't leave.

Jason nodded, getting into the driver's seat and starting the car up again, eyes darting to Ella as she kicked at the junk accumulated on the floor of the car. "We should've had a makeshift trash bag or something," she said as she backed out of the driveway, "I'm making a mental note." Jason pulled out onto the main road and kept her eyes peeled for all of the streets Clara mentioned during their conversation. When she found the first one, she made the appropriate turn and raised the volume on the radio a tad, tapping her fingers on the wheel in time to the song. "Hey, this is One Direction's new single, right? It's not half bad."

Harry was relieved at the streets the driver took, though even if the fans were to catch them, they wouldn't be able to get any pictures. The windows were too dark to see through - if anything, it'd just be a picture of their reflection. "Would you like us to bring you anything?" Harry piped up, wanting to make sure that they weren't leaving the driver in the car on a completely stomach. The driver only shrugged and mentioned that a coffee wouldn't hurt, so Harry promised him that he'd bring him one once they finished eating.

Ella raised an eyebrow, letting out a little laugh when Jase said she was going to make a mental note. She wouldn't be surprised if her friend forgot to do that later. She nodded when Jase asked if it was One Direction's new single, grinning a little because she'd heard it so much on the radio that she was actually starting to learn the words to the song. "I quite like them," she said with a shrug, humming along before singing a line that she knew. "The Irish one is cute, but I like the other one's hair." She said, knowing that Jase would understand who she meant. She didn't really know many of the songs - just the singles that got played on the radio a lot. She looked out the window, perking up a little when she saw the grill and how it was literally on the beach. "This place looks great, I hope it isn't too busy."

Louis watched the map on his phone as the driver followed his directions, looking up once when his phone told him that they had reached their destination. He saw that the grill was right on the beach and grinned. Maybe they could head down onto the beach once they'd finished eating. He soon realised that it probably wouldn't be a good idea once the fans caught wind on their location. He thanked the driver with a handshake before he got out of the car, closing the door behind himself. "I'm so ready to eat," Louis told the other boys before heading off towards the grill, grinning when Niall ran to follow him, slinging an arm over his shoulder.

Jason nodded in response to Ella, rolling her eyes as she talked about Harry's hair. "I think the other one's hair is a bit nicer, uh, Louis? The one people say he's gay with? He could get it," she joked, making the next appropriate turn. Jase knew a little about the band, mainly from stuff she'd heard from her younger cousin who was probably one of the biggest fans. Her room was decorated with posters, she owned every album, and she'd been to at least two concerts (one of them thanks to Jason). Jase pulled into the parking lot, killing the engine once she was settled. The lot was practically empty except for three small cars and a nice sized SUV parked right by the front door. "I think we'll be good," she mused, opening the door and getting out, "We should take a walk on the beach after we eat." Jason locked the car once Ella was out and started towards the door of the grill, offering the guy who kept it open a smile. "Thanks man."

Harry thanked the driver as well, following after Louis and Niall with a fond smile. So far, they were good. No one was running up towards them or freezing in their spots, so they were safe...for now. Harry managed to pass the two of them (he'd like to thank his long legs) and he grabbed the door, propping it open with the toe of his boot. He noticed two girls heading towards the door as well and hey, keeping it open for a moment longer wasn't gonna kill him. Harry nodded slightly as the first girl spoke, silently thanking the higher powers for her acting completely normal.

Ella scrunched up her nose when she spoke about Louis, shaking her head. "He's too short," she commented, although she couldn't really say anything. She wasn't any taller than 5'4. When they parked up, she got out of the car, pulling her denim shorts down a little that had managed to ride up. "Oh, get you," Ella laughed, following Jason towards the door of the grill. "Trying to woo me with long, romantic walks on the beach." She added, giggling away. She thanked the guy holding the door for them, barely paying him any attention. "Are we going to ride off into the sunset together, as well?" She teased, poking her friend in the side.

Louis grinned up at Harry when he opened the door for them. "Thanks, babe," he smirked, patting him on the chest as he and Niall passed. He had no idea why people always thought he was gay and sleeping with at least one of his bandmates. He raised an eyebrow as he looked around the restaurant, unsure whether they should just go and take a seat. It was practically empty in there, and there wasn't a server in sight. So Louis awkwardly stood around, Niall's arm still wrapped around his shoulders. He looked over his shoulder a little when he heard a girl giggling, about to let out a pained sigh, but paused when he saw that she hadn't even noticed them. Instead, the short brunette was obviously teasing her friend, something about riding off into the sunset together.

Jason shrugged at the dig about Louis' height. "I'm pretty sure he's still taller than me, even if it's by a head or so." She laughed at Ella, coming up behind her to wrap her arms around her narrow waist and rest her shoulder on her chin. "Oh Ella, you've caught me!" Jase exclaimed, tacking on a pretty spot on British accent. "I've fallen into a dire crisis! For you have found out the love that I have for you that burns like a thousand sounds. Elliebean, please be mine!" Yeah, so she had a thing for theatrics, let the girl have a little fun. By now, she had drew the attention of the few patrons in the restaurant and one of the waitresses, but Jason was laughing too hard at herself to really give a damn.

Harry had though they had been caught too, but as the taller brunette started confessing her love to the shorter one, he couldn't help but chuckle along, especially at what could've been a plausible accent had he not heard her just speak with an American one. He gave her a slow clap as he headed over to a booth far away from windows, little smile on his face as he slid into it. "That was brilliant, love. Truly brilliant. Seems you've embarrassed your friend there, though."

Ella leaned back into her friend when she wrapped her arms around her from behind, unable to hold back her giggles. She looked over when she heard someone clapping, raising an eyebrow when he spoke and in deep, slow voice. "Embarrassed?" She called out, and then shook her head. "Well excuse you, but we happen to be madly in love." She nodded, shuffling placing her hands over Jason's arms around her waist and shuffling forwards, pulling Jason along with her. Her eyes were only on the really tall guy who'd slid into the booth, her brain definitely not making any kind of connection. "Come on, kitten," Ella grinned, pulling Jason along to a table that was kind of near the booth where the boys were sitting, but not really. If she wasn't in such a good mood from being on vacation, then she definitely would have killed Jase for calling her 'Elliebean'.

Louis couldn't help but watch in amusement when the girl responded, talking some shit about falling into a dire crisis. Well, the girls certainly were quite eccentric, and did seem the enjoy the attention they were getting from the patrons in the restaurant. Louis' eyes widened though when Harry gave them a slow clap and spoke to them as they headed to their booth, and he nearly hit his giant friend because that definitely blew their cover. But, when the short replied, she showed no recognition on her face before sitting down somewhere else with her friend. Maybe his ego was just too big and he assumed that everyone in the word was a fan and wanted pictures. Or, she probably just didn't recognise Harry with his hair being tied up.

Jason muffled her laughter in Ella's shoulder, finally releasing her to sit on the other side of the table. One of the waitresses that had stopped to watch the pair of them brought over menus before disappearing swiftly, probably not enjoying their theatrics as much as some of the others did. "Well I'm going to order everything," Jase said after opening her menu, eyes reading over a lot of delicious choices. She really felt like ordering a beer, if she was being a hundred percent honest, but it was still midday and she wasn't sure if that'd earn her more weird looks. "El, d'ya think it's too early to drink?"

Harry didn't seem to care if he would've blown their cover or not - the two girls seemed to have their heads screwed on pretty sure. Well, sort of. He did notice, though, that their waitress' hands trembled slightly as she handed them their menus, excited squeal leaving her lips as her fingers brushed Harry's. He didn't know what to really do, so he just gave her a tight lipped smile, which made her laugh nervously. "Can we take a picture really quick?" She asked, already taking her phone out and getting the app ready. Despite his hunger, Harry pulled a funny face for the camera and nodded at her thanks as she scurried away. At least they tried to get away from the fans for a bit.

Ella opened up her menu, letting out a groan when she saw all the food on there. It even had pictures on the menu and it all looked so good. "That's a good idea," she murmured, distracted by all the good looking food. She let out a laugh when Jase asked if it was too early to drink and she shook her head. "It's 8 o'clock somewhere, right?" She grinned, looking over the top of her menu at Jason. She glanced past Jase, raising an eyebrow when she saw the waitress taking pictures with the boys who spoke to them earlier. She tilted her head, confused, before shrugging and glancing down at the menu. "I think I'm going to get a Cosmopolitan." She said with a grin.

Louis let out an audible sigh when the waitress asked for pictures, taking one with Harry before she looked at Louis and Niall. He stood up, putting on a small smile for the camera before he sat back down. "Can we order now?" He asked, his tone short. He was probably being unreasonable, and there weren't exactly swarms of people around them, but still. He just wanted quiet meal. The waitress nodded, looking apologetic and uncomfortable before taking out her pad and pen. "I'll have the double cheeseburger with bacon," he said, laughing when Niall made an approving noise. "And a beer, please." He added. He grinned when Niall ordered the exact same as him.

Jason grinned, now dead set on ordering that beer that she wanted. "I like your reasoning," she murmured, turning her head to look at whatever it was that Ella was looking at, seeing that it was the waitress asking the boys for a picture. When she turned back around, she rolled her eyes in annoyance. "That's so weird, like, who just asks random people to take pictures with them?" Jase shrugged it off, though. If the waitress wanted to take pictures with some attractive guys, that was purely her business. It was just the thought of doing so that Jason didn't really understand.

Harry could've told anyone that Louis was gonna get short with the girl pretty quick after asking for a picture. It wasn't that Lou hated the fans or anything, but he did enjoy his own space and getting to be himself for once in a while, much like they all did. Louis just had less tolerance for it than the others. "I'll take the cheeseburger with a strawberry milkshake, please." He handed her his menu and offered her another tight lipped smile as she collected the menus before going to take the orders of the girls at the table. Harry focused his attention back on Louis and chuckled. "No patience, huh?"
