Feels like Snow in September

Ella shrugged her shoulders in response to Jase, eyes back on the boys for a few moments before looking back down at her menu. "Maybe they're being weird tourists," she said as she tried to make a decision on what food to order. She had noticed earlier when the tall guy spoke that he was from England, his accent very distinctive. "Also, I think I'm going to get the chicken burger." She said with a nod, glancing up at the waitress when she headed over to them. She read out her order to the woman, making sure not to forget her Cosmopolitan before she looked back at Jase, waiting for her to order.

Louis only shrugged at Harry, a guilty smile on his lips. "Not my fault," he huffed, letting out a little laugh. "I'm a hungry boy," he said simply, grinning over at Niall when when he agreed. He looked around the small grill, glancing again at the two girls who were sitting a few tables over. His eyes stayed on the girl whose back was to him, wearing a flannel shirt. He looked away when the waitress came back over, still looking nervous and uncomfortable when she handed Louis his beer.

Jason groaned as the waitress awaited her order, really wanting to curl up into a ball and die because there were about three different things she wanted to get. "Fuck," she muttered, pushing a hand through her hair, "I'll get a double cheeseburger with bacon with a beer." The waitress gave her a look but jotted the order down all the same. As she began to walk away, Jase grabbed her elbow, wheeling her back to her original position. "Uh, is there a problem?" Jason asked with a raised eyebrow, wanting to know what her problem was.

"No, uh, it's just that, you, uh..."

Jason rolled her eyes at the girl.

"Holy shit, kid, spit it out."

"You ordered the same exact thing as Louis Tomlinson."

Harry rolled his eyes at Louis' reason for being pissy, yet he knew that was also a legitimate reason for being in his little mood. He couldn't help but glance over at the smaller brunette at the table, lower lip slipping between his teeth as he eyed her, though he nearly drew blood at what the waitress had said. If they were lucky, the girls would barely react to her words. "Fucking hell, can't we have anything?" He murmured, crossing his arms across his chest, a little upset by the waitress' actions.

Ella raised an eyebrow as she watched the waitress and Jase, looking all confused when she said about ordering the same food as Louis Tomlinson. She knew that name, but didn't know where from. She stared over at the boys, who were now staring right back at them, eyes landing on the blonde one before she grinned. "The cute Irish one!" She exclaimed, hitting Jase on the arm and pointing over the girl's shoulder to the group of boys. She then looked at the tall one who spoke in the first place, grinning when she recognised him too. She figured she must not have noticed at first because his hair was tied up or something. She thought back to their conversation in the car about One Direction and then started laughing, leaning back in her chair before looking back at the waitress. It definitely made sense why she was taking a picture with her.

Louis took one sip of his beer before he nearly spit it right back out when he heard the waitress. He looked over at the two girls, alarmed and ready to put on fake smiles for pictures. He let out a surprised laugh when the only reaction from the smaller girl was to yell 'the cute Irish one!', which made Niall laugh and give her a wave, a genuine grin on his lips. Louis was honestly a little surprised that they didn't make their way over to ask for pictures, so he shrugged before taking another sip of his beer. "The girl has good taste in food," he said simply, loud enough for the girls to hear.

Jason looked at the boys, slowly starting to place them. To be honest, she felt really dumb for not recognizing any of them immediately, but hey, it had been a pretty long day for her. Jase shrugged, smiling over at Louis as he spoke. "Right back at ya," she replied, biting back a laugh as the waitress looked at her with wide eyes, like she should've been a lot more starstruck than she actually was. She was, don't get her wrong, but she wasn't gonna be dumb about it or anything. They didn't seem too interested in getting a picture with her, so her being in the same restaurant would probably have to be one of those stories that she and Ella share when either one gets sad. The waitress left for a moment, coming back to give Jase her beer. She took a swig from it and tilted the neck of the bottle in the boys' direction. "To you guys, because y'all can afford caviar and champagne but here you are." Jase wore a teasing smirk as she took another drink from the bottle, obviously amused with the entire situation.

Harry was overall pretty pleased with how everything was turning out, right down to the taller brunette's comment about their current dining choice. "It gets old very quick," he commented, tossing an arm over the seat of the booth. He glanced over at Niall and smiled at his flushed cheeks. "You gettin' a bit warm there, lad? Shall you head outside for a moment and get a little air? I know the girl's pretty and all but you gotta hold it together." He dodged the wad of napkin thrown at his face, laughing at the blonde's own laughter.

Ella sat back in her seat, watching the whole scene unfold in front of her with a grin. She let out a happy noise when the waitress placed her Cosmopolitan down in front of her and immediately took a sip from it. Their vacation had only just begun and Ella was wondering how that day could be topped. She couldn't help but laugh when she heard the curly haired one, Harry, was it? Talking to the cute Irish one, poking fun at him. The blonde was absolutely adorable, but she found herself constantly glancing at Harry. Maybe it was the way he spoke, his slow and deep voice, and that fucking accent too.

Louis found himself grinning back at the girl when she replied, raising his beer to her when she spoke the second time. "We're only here because they ran out of champagne at the hotel." He said with a little smirk, glad that they were relaxed about the whole situation. Honestly, he couldn't even tell if they were fans or not. He didn't really care, he was just so thankful to them because he really needed a break from all the fans and photographs. He knew it wouldn't last long though, especially with the waitress watching both of the tables with wide eyes.

Jason rolled her eyes, crossing her legs across one another as she watched Louis. "Oh cry me a river," she replied, taking another sip from her bottle, "All joking aside, it's nice to meet y'all and see how normal you guys are. It's pretty cool seeing you guys without the cameras and the girls and the screaming - holy shit, the screaming." The waitress came back with the boys' food, giving the right band member the right plate with a smile. "I bet if she was off the clock, she'd blow your eardrums out." Jase couldn't help but keep looking at Louis, eyes raking over his features. She knew he was pretty cute but the internet did not do him justice.

Harry laughed at the other girl who spoke to Louis, thinking her sass was downright hilarious, much like how Louis' comments made him laugh. He thanked the waitress as she handed him her plate and milkshake, eyes widening slightly when the girl spoke again. "Please don't," he murmured, playful grin on his face, "I'm kidding." Harry took a sip from the milkshake, making a satisfied noise before pulling out his phone and taking a picture of just the shake, trying to make sure nothing in the background was visible. He posted it to Instagram with the simple caption 'Berry good.'

While Jase was talking to Louis, Ella took the opportunity to google the band and find out the boys' names. She knew Harry, and Louis thanks to the waitress but the cute Irish one definitely needed a name. She found out that his name Niall, and they were out without two of their bandmates Zayn and Liam. Okay, that was easy. Hopefully she'd remember them. She looked up to see the cuteNiall looking at her and she grinned at him. He made a comment about it being a little early for cocktails. Ella only scoffed and shook her head. "We're on vacation as of today so any time is acceptable for Cosmopolitans." She said with a nod, smiling a little when Niall laughed and said he liked her reasoning.

Louis took another sip from his bottle of beer, shrugging his shoulders when she said how normal they were. He huffed out a laugh when she mentioned the screaming, because yeah, that sucked a lot of the time. "That's mean," Louis said to the girl when she talked about the waitress, a smirk on his lips because yeah, it was definitely true. He could see the waitress really trying hard to act completely normal. "What about you? Are you saying we're not good enough for you and your friend to be screaming about?" He asked, biting back a grin.

Jason raised a challenging eyebrow when Louis called her mean. "And who said I was nice?" She replied, rolling her eyes as the waitress all but threw her plate on the table. "It's not that you're not good enough, it's just that I'm not the screaming type, if you catch my drift," she said, winking at Louis, "Can't speak for El, though. Not really sure how she sounds." Jase picked up a fry from her plate and ate it nonchalantly, deciding that food was important but not as important as talking to a super cute guy.

Harry decided to jump into Niall and the other girl's conversation, thinking that speaking of drinks would be a lot more fun than getting in between Lou and the brunette. "I agree," he interjected, lazy grin on his face as he leaned down to take another drink from his milkshake, "I would've had a drink as well but I've been wanting a milkshake for ages now. And it's pretty damn good."

Ella looked over at Harry when she spoke, silently damming him because his voice was so smooth and gods, she needed to calm down. She scrunched up her nose when she saw his milkshake and shook her head. "You've got the wrong flavour, babe," she said with a little grin. "Should have gone for chocolate." She added, looking away from Harry and at Jase instead when she heard her nickname. She raised an eyebrow, not really catching the conversation before. She glanced down at the table, only just noticing the food there. She popped a fry into her mouth before looking back at Harry again.

Louis nearly choked on his beer when the girl said she wasn't the screaming type and then fucking winked at him. Well then. He quite liked this girl. He enjoyed having someone around who was confident enough to joke and kind of flirt with him, instead of some starstruck girl who is shaking too much to do anything other than ask for a picture. "Do you two want to come over here and join us?" He asked, not noticing the shocked look on Niall's face. "It saves us shouting at each other from across the restaurant."

Jason couldn't help but feel a little sense of pride at the expression on Louis' face in reaction to her comment and wink. She didn't really have much of a filter, if she was being honest. "I think that's a wonderful idea," she said, already standing up and grabbing her plate with her free hand. From the back, Jase could hear the waitress let out a frustrated sigh, but she didn't really care about what the waitress was feeling. She was more concerned about getting to spend some time with this guy who was cute as all outdoors and apparently liked her enough to invite her over. She slid in next to Harry so she could sit across from Louis, setting her plate down and offering him a little smile. "Nice ponytail," Jason commented, reaching back to play with the little bunch of hair curling down, "It fits."

Harry scrunched his face up at the girl's flavor suggestion, shaking his head in the process. "Had a bad chocolate shake not too long ago, it's scarred me forever. I refuse to have anymore chocolate shakes." He was pleasantly surprised at Louis' question, though he didn't interfere with it. He'd like to have some more company, and the girls seemed to be nice enough. Harry smiled at the girl's compliment, laughing a little when she played with the end of it. "Thank you very much, Niall seems to dislike it more than anyone. I think he's jealous he can't grow one."

Louis grinned when the girls agreed to join them, moving his plate over a little to make some space. It would be a bit of a tight squeeze because they all had plates of food and drinks, but still, he didn't mind. He watched the brunette opposite him play with Harry's ponytail, and laughed quietly. "So what are your names?" He asked, before taking a sip of his beer and then popping one of the fries into his mouth. He felt a little rude for not asking earlier, but he'd kind of forgotten because at first he thought they'd just want pictures but then he started speaking to them - the brunette mostly, and well, she was something else. Quite brilliant, actually.

Ella pouted a little at what Harry said, genuinely feeling bad for him because no one should suffer when drinking a chocolate milkshake. When Louis asked the girls to join them, Ella went to shake her head, but froze when Jase said that 'it was a wonderful idea' and stood up with a small sigh. Ella followed suit, picking up her half empty Cosmopolitan and her plate before heading over to the table, taking the last empty space. She took another sip from her drink, focusing on that more than the food. It was her long-awaited vacation, she was allowed to drink a lot. She watched Niall take a couple of fries from her plate, even though he had his own, and she grinned, raising an eyebrow at his actions.

"I'm Ella," she said, turning her attention to Louis who she was sat beside, before looking at Harry opposite her, with a little grin.

Jason ate a few french fries, wiping her fingers on one of the napkins before replying. "I'm Jason," she said, "My parents really wanted a boy." When Jase was younger, it used to be hell, what with her first name. She had at least three other boys called Jason in her grade and everyone usually made fun of her for having a boys' name and hanging out with boys more than girls. Kids back then were mean, man. It didn't really affect her once she hit puberty because the same boys who made fun of her wanted to date her once they hit middle school.

Harry smiled when the girls introduced themselves, finding that both names fit the girls perfectly, especially Ella's name. She just looked like an Ella - it was so right. "Well you seem to already know us but I'm still very much a gentleman. My name's Harry. Everyone knows Niall. It's impossible not to know Niall." He shot the blonde a smirk who picked up a fry and threw it at Harry's chest, who only picked it up and ate it like it was no big deal.

"It's really nice to meet you all," Ella murmured but her eyes were on Harry, lingering for a few moments longer than she should, before she glanced over at Niall, shooting him another grin. She felt a little out of her depth, surrounded by the boys and that's why she stealthily finished off her drink, desperate to feel a little more comfortable. She got the attention of the waitress who didn't even try to hide the annoyance and jealously in her features, before she ordered another Cosmopolitan.

Louis snorted out a laugh when Jason said her parents wanted a boy and he took another sip of his beer, ordering himself another one once Ella had asked for another drink. "I think it works for you," Louis said with a nod, looking at Jase with a grin. "So do you guys live here?" He asked, popping some more of the fries into his mouth. Maybe they could recommend a few good, but out of the way clubs. Or a good dealer where he could pick up some decent weed for once.

Jason blushed a little at Louis' words, trying to distract herself from it by taking another gulp from her bottle. "No, I wish, we live in Seattle. You lookin' for somewhere to go tonight?" To be honest, Jase sort of wanted to go out and party too, especially with them, if they invited them along. She loved being able to swindle men for drinks with the bat of an eyelash and a little peek of cleavage - it was entirely too easy. "The people who own our rental said to call if we had any questions, maybe they'll know of some local spots?"

"It's nice to meet you too, Ella," Harry said, beginning to cut into his burger. From the corner of his eye, he noticed her flag the waitress down to order another drink but he didn't comment on it, instead, he focused his attention on taking the first bite of his burger. It was pretty good, yet when he was hungry, almost anything was good, so maybe he'd come back when he wasn't feeling like his stomach was touching his back.

Ella ate a couple of fries, half listening to Jase's conversation with Louis while she waited for her drinks. She was definitely up for going out, but she could tell her friend wanted to hit up a club with the boys. Or Louis, at least. When her drink was placed in front of her, she thanked the waitress politely who shrugged her off before moving onto a different table. "We're here for a month on vacation," she told Louis before taking a sip of her drink. If she carried on drinking this way, Ella would be far too wasted by the time it even lot late enough to go out. She shrugged that thought off, figuring she could relax for a bit on the beach without alcohol.

Louis raised his eyebrows in surprised when Jase said the girls were from Seattle, but nodded when she asked if they were looking for somewhere to go. "We've got tonight and tomorrow off for once, it would be nice to go out." He said with a shrug, looking between Harry and Niall for confirmation. Hopefully he wasn't the only one who wanted to go out. When Ella said they were staying for a month of vacation, he was immediately jealous because it sounded amazing. "That's sick," he said, grinning a little. "Yeah, ask them and maybe we can hit up a bar later?" He suggested, not realising he'd definitely just invited the girls out with them.

Jason nodded, raising an eyebrow as the waitress brought Ella another drink, not looking too pleased about it whatsoever. She rolled her eyes in the girl's general direction but said nothing, instead focusing her attention on Louis. "Yeah, most definitely. I'll give 'em a call later and see if they know any good places. I'd hate to get out and realize the club's filled with old people. That's not exactly my idea of a fun time." Her idea of a fun time was actually grinding against Louis now that she had time to talk to him and figure out that she was sort of into him, but hell, he was way out of her league. He'd probably pull a hotter chick by day's end.

Harry ended up finishing half of his burger as he listened to the conversation, taking a sip of his shake to clear his mouth of any remaining food. "Stranger things have happened," he murmured in response to Jason, "We could still have fun with the seniors. Maybe a game of tennis? A few whiskeys?"

Ella giggled into her drink when Jase about getting to the club and seeing it filled with old people. She nodded her head in agreement with Harry before she took a sip of her drink. "It could be fun you know, my nana can party just as much as us. Maybe even more so." She grinned, popping one of the fries into her mouth, chewing and swallowing it. "We might meet some party animals," she suggested, a little smirk playing on her lips. Honestly, she wasn't too fussy where they got drunk, as long as it would be somewhere she could have a good dance, and maybe hook up with Harrysomeone.

Louis shook his head, laughing at what Ella had said about her nana, but he had to agree with Jase. He'd rather not party with them if he was honest. Sometimes he was in the mood for a seedy club that was dark, bass thumping and filled people who want to get equally fucked up as him. He had a feeling that Jase was down for a good time like him, which only made her even more attractive in his eyes. He finished off his beer, before taking a bite of his burger.

Jason scrunched her face up at Harry and Ellla's conversation about partying with the old people, honestly not even into it. She cut her burger her half and rolled her eyes at Ella. "Or we'd meet some ex party animals that only wave their arms from their little motor scooters." She took a bite from her burger, eating a few fries after her first initial bite of food. Jase took another swig from her bottle and looked over at Louis, little half smile on her face.

Harry nodded as well, taking another few sips from his milkshake before speaking. "Aw come on, Jason. Ella and I believe in them, you should too. Have a little faith in our past animals." Niall was laughing next to him, pulling out his phone to probably tweet the situation out to the fans, Liam, or Zayn. The blonde was already basically done with the majority of his food, the only thing left being a few tiny pieces of french fries and some limp pieces of tomato. The boy sure could eat.

Ella grinned, nodding in agreement with Harry, and giving Jase a pointed look. "Yeah, you're discriminating against them because of their age," she pouted, looking all sad for a few moments before she took a sip of her drink and popped some more fries into her mouth. She glanced over towards the door of the restaurant when she heard several loud gasps, and she raised her eyebrows in surprise when she saw a group of teenage girls standing there staring at the boys. They were all wearing One Direction t-shirts and had their phones out, obviously no intention on eating in the restaurant.

Louis shook his head at what Harry said, letting out a quiet laugh. He was ready to jump in and agree with Jason that he'd rather not party with old people past their expiration date, when he heard a gasp too, and followed Ella's look over to a bunch of girls. "Seriously?" He sighed, rolling his eyes. "We haven't even been here half an hour," he frowned, looking at Harry, frustrated and kind of sad because he really was enjoying himself. He could hear the teenagers muttering not to subtly about Ella and Jason, asking who they were and why they were sitting with them.

Jason stuck her tongue out at Ella - the little shit. When she heard the gasps, all she could do was roll her eyes. Couldn't these kids be a little more subtly? Or at least pretend that these guys were normal people too? When they began muttering about her and Ella, she smirked and looked up at Louis. "I hope this ends up online - I'd be honored to be your rumored girlfriend that everyone hates with a burning passion since they all believe you'll marry them."

Harry didn't have to even look up to see who made the gasps. Niall swore under his breath but tried his best to keep his gaze averted, not wanting them to make a huge scene, or really have his picture taken. Harry just sighed softly. "Sorry about them," he murmured, "It tends to happen a lot." He really was enjoying spending time with the two girls, but now their pictures were gonna be taken and of course the fans were gonna post it all over Twitter and Tumblr, asking who they were. It just wasn't really fair, in his opinion, that they had to get dragged into their shit.
