When Christmas Comes to Town

Abby grabbed her bag out of the trunk of James's Camaro and looked at him. She knew that he was worried about meeting her family. "Don't worry they are going to love you." She said as she kissed him. She looked at the huge house in front of them then walked with him to the front door. She knocked and smiled when her mom answered, "Hey mom." She said as she stepped inside. She set her bags down then hugged her mom and her dad. She knew her sister would be there eventually. "Mom, dad this is James." She said, introducing him to them. She knew that they would be weird around him because he was not how they liked guys. He was covered and tattoos and a mechanic who lived pay check to pay check, but he did treat her good.

Lucas sighed as he made his way to his apartment. He opened the door to see Zoey getting out some christmas decorations. "Hey." he said as he laid his keys on the counter. He smiled as he kissed her softly. "I see you have been pretty busy." He teased. Lucas looked around the apartment then walked over to the fridge. He got himself a bottle of water then looked at her.

James was pretty nervous on the drive over to Abby's parents house, knowing that they he wasn't the type of guy they wanted for their daughter. He kissed his girlfriend back as she quickly kissed him before leading them to the door. "Hello Mr. and Mrs. Evans, it's nice to finally meet you." He said with a shy smile.

Zoey loved Christmas, it was her thing, and since she practically lived with Lucas, she thought it was only right to decorate his apartment. "Well I felt perfectly fine after I got home from work, I don't know why they sent me home because I got sick." She said with a little smile. "How was work?"

Abby's dad looked at James, "Nice to meet you too." He said in a stern voice. Abby bit her bottom lip lightly, "So we are gonna go put our stuff away and then we will be down." She said, breaking the weird tension. She walked upstairs with James into her old room which had been turned into a guest bedroom. She sat her things down then looked at him. Abby wrapped her arms around him and kissed him softly, "I love you." She said.

Lucas shrugged, "It was work." he said. "You sure you're feeling better babe?"He asked as he walked over to her. He sat down on the couch then looked around. "I don't think i have ever decorated this place before." HE said, laughing softly.

James could feel the tension between him and her dad. Once upstairs he let out a breath and pulled his girlfriend closer to him, kissing her on the lips. "I love you too, babe, and I hope your parents like me."

Zoey climbed into his lap and curled into his chest, she was pretty thin and small, she had had an eating disorder back in high school, and she knew Lucas worried about her, but she was better now. "Yeah, I just threw up this morning and then I felt better." She said with a shrug. "And I know...I wanted to make it all Christmasy last year!"

Abby nodded, "Me too because i really want everyone to get along." She said as she looked up at him. She had always been the kind of person who wanted everyone to be friends. Abby smiled up at him and kissed him softtly.

Lucas nodded as he let his arms slip around her, "Well you should have said something i would have let you." He said as he kissed her softly. Lucas smiled as he rubbed her back, "How ever you lack a tree." He said, laughing.

James couldn't wait until this week was over, he just wanted to be back in California at their little apartment with their friends. "I just want them to see that I am a good guy and I'm trying my best to provide for you and I."

Zoey smiled into the kiss, she loved how he was with her. "Well we had just started dating, I didn't want to impose." She said with a light giggle. "I know...I started to bring my tree over from my apartment, but I got hungry and then you came home."

Abby smiled, "And they will, its just that they are picky." She said as she laced their fingers together. She knew James was really worried about this. "Don't worry okay? Everything is going to be great." She said as she kissed his cheek.

Lucas smiled, "Well we could always go get it now if you feel up to it." He said as he relaxed against the chair. He figured she would want to finish tonight. She wasn't one to let this go unfinished. He smiled as he kissed her cheek.

James grinned. "well we better get back down there so they don't get the wrong idea about what's going on up here." He said and kissed her softly. "Have you told them we're living together yet?"

Zoey slightly shook her head, she felt drained of all her energy all of a sudden. "Can we just cuddle...I know usually I want to just get things done, but I'm feeling a bit off today. I can finish it tomorrow morning before I go to work."

Abby bit her bottom lip lightly when he asked if she told them about them living together. "Not exactly." she said softly. She walked out of the room with him then went downstairs. Luckily her mom was busy cooking and wouldn't question James a ton.

Lucas nodded, "Yes sure we can do that." He said as he held her closer to him. "Why don't you go lay down on the bed and i will get ready for bed." He said. He smiled as he watched her get up then went to take a shower.

James sighed softly, he knew it wouldn't go over well with her parents. "How about we wait until next time to tell them." He murmured as they walked downstairs. "So this is where you grew up?"

Zoey went into the bedroom and changed her clothes, she put a pair of yoga pants on and one of Lucas' t shirts. She climbed into the bed under the covers and waited for Lucas to come join her.

Abby nodded, "Yep this is where I grew up." She said as she sat next to him and laced her fingers with his. She kissed his cheek then rested her head on his shoulder. Abby's dad walked into the room, "So James your a mechanic?" He asked as he sat down.

Lucas got ready for bed then climbed into bed with him. he pulled her close then kissed her softly. "Goodnight love." He said as he turned of the lights.

James nodded and smiled over at her dad. "Yeah, I really like it." He said and squeezed his girlfriends hand slightly. "Do you like cars and that kind of stuff?"

Zoey was soon fast asleep, sleeping all the way through the night, not waking until morning. She sat up in bed and a huge wave of nausea hit her and before long she was in the bathroom connected to his room, letting up the contents of her stomach into the toilet.

Abby sighed as her dad played off James's question pretending not to care about cars. She rolled her eyes after he walked out then rested her forehead on James's shoulder, "God he's such an ass." She muttered.

Lucas woke up hearing Zoey then looked over towards the bathroom, "Babe you alright?"He asked as he got up. He walked over to the bathroom door and leaned against the door way. He was hoping she wasn't getting sick.
