Pick A Title Contest

This contest is very simple: just pick a title from the list at the bottom of this post and write a story or poem! Anything goes, but read the rules to better understand the contest and what kind of judge I am.

Notice: The story DOES NOT have to be completed, just as long as you have one chapter up. I would really love to see someone continue this story...maybe even make it one of their children that they continue to write as a full novel.





To enter: January 10th, 2015
To submit work: February 1st, midnight

Deadlines change. I won't change it to a deadline sooner than this, however. I would prefer entries in by the 11th, but if you want an extension, I would much rather get your story in than follow a dumb deadline, so extensions are no problem :) Just PM me if you feel you can't get a single chapter by the 11th!





1. Minimum word count: 100; Maximum: None. Poems have no minimum or maximum word count.
2. No pre-written stories.
3. The story does not have to be completed. As I said before, it would be an honor if you decided to make your story with one of the titles a full blown story.
4. Please follow Mibba's Story Guidelines and Poem Guideliens.
5. Any rating goes; however, I do not like smut or any kind of explicit sex scenes. Implications are perfectly acceptable.
6. Fanfiction is okay. Preference: Original.
7. Slash and femmeslash (did I spell that right?) is okay. Preference: heterosexual.
8. Please keep the title as it is. If you want to switch a small word like a/to/of/from/the that is fine, just let me know ahead of time so I can change the title to what you are going to use. Also, if there's a he/she and you want to change genders, that is perfectly acceptable.
9. One person per title; one story/poem per title; three entries per person.
10. Any genre (horror, romance, action, etc) and any story/poem type (original, true, fanfiction) is up for grabs!
11. Please check your spelling and grammar. I know people make mistakes, but try to do the best you can.
12. Link this contest in your summary.

Please note: This contest strictly looks at content, structure, word choice, and other writing mechanics and styles as the judgment. I won't ignore a story just because it isn't to my preferences. I am not rude like that. You have an equal chance with all others!

Please note: THE GRADE YOU GET IS NOT VIEWED BY ANYONE. I will send your grade by private message. You could do everything correctly and get 107% on the grading but still not win. Also, you can totally write a fanfiction or something else that isn't my preference but totally win if you rock some of the things I said I enjoy (which can be seen under Bonus Points section). I'm trying to stick strictly to whether the writer did a great job conveying a story.

Also, that doesn't make any sense.

9. One person per title; one story/poem per title; two entries per person.
You say one writer=one title, one title=one poem/story, and then you say two entries=one writer.

Also, does the word count apply to poems too?

Yes, for example there cannot be two people for a single title; there should be one writer/one entry per one title. However, if someone wants to do two entries, they can pick another title that has not already been taken by someone else.
