Four For The Road

Cora moved to sit her head outside of the window as they drove through what seemed to be Arizona. There were in miles upon miles of endless desert where the sun seemed to blaze down every minute of the day. "Damn, it's hot." She noted while taking in the warm breeze against her cheeks. Pulling herself back inside of the car, she rolled up the window then proceed to crank up the music. "Logan, we need to stop at the next gas station. Gotta empty the tank, if you get my drift." She joked with a small wink while placing her feet up onto the dashboard. Wrapping a finger around a blonde curl, she took out one of her hair ties and pulled her hair into a bun. Even with the air conditioning on high, there seemed to be no way to beat the desert heat. Cora squinted her eyes as she saw two figures in the distance waving towards them. "Um, are you seeing what I'm seeing?" She questioned, leaning forward to see more clearly.

Fanning out his shirt, Greyson paced around in a circle while his brother attempted to grab a car. Each time, a car just seemed to honk at them as if it were apologizing. He groaned for a moment, crouching down at the ground as if it would help. "This would have been easier if we hadn't abandoned the last car because of the bodies. I told you to just dump them somewhere in the desert. No one's going to find them, because no one is every out here." He explained to his older brother who never listened to him. Now, they were without a car. "Oh, grab them. That car. Just, just get their attention." Greyson started to wave at the car since it had been the last one they had seen in the past few hours. He hoped that they would pull over. Maybe the pair would spare them. If not, it was just their bad luck. "Hey, pull over!" He called out to the moving car with hope in his heart.

Logan absentmindedly hummed along to whatever song that was playing on the radio. She brushed her bangs behind her ear, and pulled her sunglasses down from a top of her head, before going to move her visor out of the way, feeling as though it was blocking her view of the road. Logan then laughed lightly as her friend Cora spoke. "That's what you get for grabbing a large icey at that last 7/11." She laughed once more before scanning for the nearest exit. She glanced over at her friend's next set of words, that were in the form of a question. "What on earth are people doing out in this heat?" She questioned as she slowed down before coming to a full stop. "Are you guys alright?!" She then yelled after rolling down the passenger window.

Ezra sighed as yet another car passed up the duo. Hearing his brother speak Ezra turned towards him. "And how long do you think it would've been before the cops tracked the car to them? We haven't screwed up yet, and I don't want to start now." Ezra said before stepping out onto the highway once more, a little too close this time as a eighteen wheeler nearly clipped him. Ezra sighed before raising an eyebrow as Greyson mentioned another car. "Hey!" Ezra yelled as he waved his arms. Thankfully, the car stopped. "My brother and I have been walking through the dessert since last night. Our car broke down, and we got turned around looking for the nearest gas station. " He said with a charming smile.

When they had passed that 7/11, she could not refuse to have the large icey that was beckoning her from the heat. "It was totally worth it! Even the five dollar bill that it cost." Cora countered while her bladder had another opinion. Her feet fell back down onto the floor in front her, seeing two guys out in the distance. She was definitely not hallucinating from the heat. "I have no idea, but that sucks. No one deserves to be out here since it's so hot." She sympathized with the two figures unknowing of their circumstances. Coming to a stop before the two guys, Cora pulled her shades up onto the top of her head. "Where are you guys headed?" She added onto Logan's question, thinking they may be able to hitch a ride. Her eyes slid over to the one with the charming smile to give one of her own, automatically feeling an attraction.

"Not long enough! These cops don't have a brain, Ezra. They thought that the daughter did it last time even though it was obviously us." Greyson shook his head since the cops had no idea what they were doing. After killing four other people, the cops did not have the slightest clue it had been the brothers. Needless to say, the law enforcement system would never catch them. A wave of relief washed over him as the pair of girls pulled over for their sorry behinds. "Yeah, do you mind if we get a ride or something? It'll only be until the next gas station. We promise." Greyson flashed the pair a smile, hoping that they would. Obviously, they had not learned the elementary principle of not talking to strangers, especially in the middle of the desert. "We don't bite." He added on jokingly.

Logan looked over at her ffriend Cora, mentally questioning if she had the same idea, but given the circumstances, she most likely did. "Not at all." She said to the pair with a friendly grin before clicking the main switch to unlock the back doors. "I hope you don't mind, we've been running the air, but it doesn't really seem to make a difference. " She said with a shrug glancing back at them.

"We were heading out to see some family members out in Utah, but we got stuck. " Ezra said with a chuckle as his eyes flickered over to the blonde in the passengers seat, upon hearing her question. He then said, "Thank you, " to the brunette as she unlocked the car doors, offering them a ride. As Ezra went to grab his backpack he exchanged a knowing look to his brother before turning back to face the girls, and get into the car.

Cora was glad to welcome them into the backseats of the car, thinking that it would be more fun. "The more the merrier, right?" She concluded when she felt the blast of heat when the door opened. Although, Cora was surprised that the duo had survived out in the heat that long. "You guys are lucky that you didn't melt in that heat!" She exclaimed while glancing back at them. It would have been impossible for her to stand the heat.

Greyson could not wait to get inside of the car, practically pushing his brother over. The coolness of the air conditioner brushed against his cheeks. Once inside of the car, he gave a light sigh and noticed his brother's glance. Greyson could identify that glance anywhere. These girls would be their next victims. It would be a shame to kill of two beautiful girls, but he was already itching to chop something apart. "Thank you again." He reiterated with a small smile.
