Eyes So Blinded

Miyako sighed with relief and nodded slightly. Seeing that they were now in a village, she was more than ready to get some sleep. She just wanted to relax; the day had been too strange for her and it ultimately wore her out fairly easily.

Inuyasha quickly made his way through the village, to a small hut. He could tell Kaede was up, there was a light glow seeping from under her door. Entering with out bothering to knock, he knew the woman would have heard him coming. Nothing seem to get past her. Setting Miyako down he greeted the old woman wordlessly. Knowing that they had been estranged to each other since Kagome's departure.

Miyako blinked with confusion, but rubbed her eyes tiredly. "I must admit, I didn't expect ye to ever visit again, Inuyasha," Kaede mentioned after a few silent moments between them. Miyako was too tired to really pay attention and, after a moment or so, she curled up on the floor.

Inuyasha frowned hearing Kaede's words, he really didn't want to talk to her. "Yeah, don't think I enjoy being here." He huffed before laying himself down. He hoped that would end all conversion.

Kaede listened quietly but sighed. It wasn't surprising that he didn't enjoy being there, after Kagome left. But she knew it was pointless to continue the conversation.

Rei awoke to the sound of rustling, opening her eyes she looked around. Only to notice that A-Uh had awoken up. The beast was grooming itself, though it was being quiet not wanting to awaken her. Though the noise did anyways. Smiling softly she petted the beast gently before getting to her feet. She looked around noticing she was the only one awake. Deciding it would be better to start breakfast before the others awoke, she moved off to collect things.

Inuyasha awoke before anyone else, gathering himself he decided to go hunt. They'd need something to eat for breakfast, and he was in the mood for meat.

Sesshomaru woke when he heard movement. Blinking his eyes open, he spotted Rei wandering away. After a few moments, he stood up and moved to follow after her, admittedly a little curious as to what she was doing.

Miyako was sleeping rather peacefully, but she was soon found waking up. Glancing around, she was surprised with her surroundings, but when she remembered the day before, she relaxed.

Rei frowned entering a heavier wooded area, she kept her eyes pointed skywards. Trees tended to yield fruit this time of year. Smiling she noticed a pear tree though the fruit was a bit out of reach. Grabbing a couple of pebbles, she threw them up at the ripened fruit. Managing to knock one down she smile, before collecting it then returning to throwing pebbles.

Inuyasha frowned entering the village, two squirrels grasped in his hands. He wasn't one big on getting them, but the area seemed scarce of animal presence. It made him wonder what was lurching near by, though he didn't sense a presences. But it would explain last nights ere feeling.

Sesshomaru watched Rei quietly, though he was admittedly a little impressed with how quickly she had figured out a solution to getting the pears down. Tilting his head, he moved closer. "Do you like pears?" he questioned, almost curious. He figured it was an accurate assumption; then again, it could just be the only fruit around.

Miyako rubbed at her eyes tiredly before she moved to stand up. She couldn't see Inuyasha around, so she figured that he might have gone out to do something or perhaps he just abandoned her entirely. Either option was plausible. With a sigh, she made her way out of the hut and glanced around.

Rei jumped hearing his words, and in the process dropping the process dropping the fruit. Turning she felt a soft sigh escape her. She knew that it would take awhile to familiarize herself with his voice. He rarely spoke, so to say she was startled was an understatement. "Yes," she informed him, "fruit is not only delicious but nutritious also." She said, she didn't know if he was aware of it or not. Since he was a demon himself. She had no clue what he ate if he ate at all.

Inuyasha noticed that Miyako was standing outside of the hut. Once he was in within a hearing distance, he smirked. "Couldn't sleep?" He questioned her, then noticed Kaede exit the hut. "Here old woman." He said handing the squirrels to her. He knew he was hateful to her, but he was always that way before. It was easiest for him.

Sesshomaru tilted his head slightly as he stared at the fruit. Seeing that she had dropped the fruit she had picked, he moved over and gathered a few that had been dropped - despite being unsure of his own actions - and stood back up straight. "Rin enjoys fruit as well," he said calmly. Often, Rin had convinced him to eat things she brought along with her. It wasn't entirely necessary for him, but eating did help him to maintain life, so it was still important. He could go longer without eating at all, though.

Miyako blinked and looked up at Inuyasha. After a moment, she nodded slightly. "Pretty much," she admitted before she sighed quietly. "Why are you awake so early anyways?" Kaede stared at the squirrels though she wasn't at all surprised with Inuyasha's behavior. Silently, she nodded before she went back inside of the hut to get started on cooking the meal.

"Rin?" Rei questioned, never having heard him speak of her before. "Is she your girlfriend?" She wondered, she had no clue what demons were like. Really Sesshomaru was the first one she'd encountered beside the one he'd saved her from. Looking at him, she watched his calm demeanor, never giving anything way. She had plenty of fruit and slowly started to make her way back to camp. She didn't know if her questions were welcomed or not, but as they walked back together she figured he wasn't going to answer her.

Inuyasha watched Kaede move back inside before answering. "I usually get up this early, unless I had a really late night." He explained, he didn't need as much sleep as humans did. Though being a half demon he still required it and food. It helped him heal faster and gave him more energy. Moving into the tent he plopped down and waited non the food to get done.

Sesshomaru blinked to her words and focused on her for a moment. "No," he answered easily, though his tone was fairly indifferent over the subject. "She is merely a human child that I saved in the past." Currently, the child was in a village, but he did occasionally visit her to check on her. In a sense, he felt a fatherly bond with the human child.

Nodding in understanding to Inuyasha's words, Miyako yawned quietly and followed him into the small hut before she sat down. After a few moments, she quietly asked, "Do you think we'll ever manage to find a way to get me home?" Her question surprised Kaeded but since the woman had no knowledge of a proper answer, she remained silent as she cooked.
