Peggy took a deep breath to try and calm herself down as she stepped out of the cab. She couldn't actually believe that she was going through with this. Of course it only made sense that she'd want to go through with it really. This was Steve after all and well even though they'd never went on an official date or anything that didn't change how she'd felt about him. It felt strange really to be in the same place as Steve, and she was sure it'd feel weird to see him in person too, of course after how long it'd been since they'd seen one another she wasn't expecting anything other than a tad bit of awkwardness.
Bucky couldn't help but overhear Fury talking about sending someone out to look for Affliction. Which if he knew her like he was pretty sure he did after the amount of time they were both prisoners Hydra then he knew sending just anyone wouldn't cut it. And even then that one person had better be damn good if they were really expected to bring her back here. Which was how he found himself clearing his throat and interrupting Fury. "I want to go on the mission to bring her back. I think it'd be smart to have someone she might be able to relate to there with you." He told them knowing that he didn't want to relive being held by Hydra ever again, and he was sure she didn't want to either so he wanted to be there to help find her and make sure she didn't have to go through that again.

[ lord I hope this start was okay. I honestly just kind of went with it! ]

Steve was surprised to hear the news that Peggy was alive and had yet to age a day. Since he had been pulled from ice and woken up he was completely unaware about Peggy and if she was alive or not. After finding Bucky and SHIELD starting to rebuild itself it was only then Steve learnt the truth. It didn't take Steve too long to decide that he wanted to meet up with her and a meeting was set at the new SHIELD headquarters. Steve had headed in early that day as Bucky wanted to see what was going with the current Hydra investigation. Steve was lost in his thoughts when he heard Bucky's voice. "Bucky's right, if anyone is going to be able to bring her in it will be Bucky. They have been through the same things and if Bucky does join your men on this mission it will mean less men get hurt." Steve knew deep down Bucky would never be his old self but from the progress he had made in the past few months, Bucky had shown glimpse of his old self. Steve glanced at his watch before he heard Fury letting out a sigh and allowing Bucky to join them on the mission. Steve had to head to the entrance of SHIELD that is where he said he would meet Peggy. "I've got to go Bucky, but I will be back as soon as I can," said Steve as he gentle patted Bucky on the back and headed off.
Serena gasped as she bolted up right from her sleep. It was another nightmare, the occurred every time she slept. Shaking her head she crawled out of the sleeping bag and began to pack up her items. Serena never stayed in the same place for two nights no matter how safe it was. After Hydra collapsing and the months that followed Serena began to remember snippets of her old life but if she honest she was not sure if any of that was true. Serena didn't know who to trust because Serena couldn't even trust herself. For however long Serena was told that her power was so she killed and that was what she did. She was still set in her ways, only last week a guard was inspecting the abandoned factory she was in and she nearly killed him without a single touch. A quick change of her very few clothes and soon Serena was packed up and began to make her way out of the empty campsite. Before she left the campsite, Serena checked that her only gun was tucked safely away she rarely used, she had her mutation for that. She would stay in the woods today, she had enough food for a few more days but that was it.

    [That is great thanks XD]

Peggy flattened out her dress as she walked into the new SHIELD headquarters. It made her nervous really, she hadn't seen Steve in so long that it just felt strange that she was about to see him. And well she did kind it a little funny that they were meeting at a SHIELD headquarters. Clearly no matter how hard either of them tried they'd never be done with SHIELD. It was always going to be a part of their lives. Hopefully though this time around it wouldn't be corrupt, because there wasn't really much Peggy hated more than finding out that this secret organization she'd helped find was corrupt and using knowledge for bad rather than good. Yea she knew that there were bad people in the world, she'd known that for quite a while now, but thinking about bad people getting their hands on things that could only make them worse actually terrified her.
Bucky looked over to Steve and nodded his head. He wasn't really sure where exactly Steve was running off to at this very moment, when they were talking about a kind of important mission that needed to take place, but he didn't question it either. Surely whatever he was running off to was worth it, or at least it seemed like it was worth it to him and well Bucky was happy for him if he was happy. While he wasn't exactly back to his old self, though given how long he'd been tortured and all the shit they'd done to him it made sense, he was slowly getting into a normal state where he was better. He could remember things better, he even had memories of him and Steve back which was nice. And he didn't wanna mess anything or end up locked up because of something stupid so he tended to just go along with what he was told for the most part.

(I'm so sorry I've taken ages to reply. I've had bad internet for past week and a bit.)

Steve glanced again at his watched and quickly made sure his hair was still in place, he wanted to make a good first impression as it had been years since he had seen Peggy in the flesh. Steve was somewhat annoyed that when he woke up he wasn't told about Peggy but back then SHIELD was corrupted by Hydra so it was somewhat understandable. Steve wasn't sure what to expect, she might have cut her hair for all Steve knew but part of him felt like the Peggy he knew wouldn't change that much. Out of the corner of his eye he spotted a woman walking this way, turning Steve was greeted by the sight of Peggy she hadn't changed one bit (apart from the modern clothes). "Nice to finally meet," smiled Steve as Peggy approached him, "How many years has it been?"
Serena started down at the man in horror, she was unsure if he was still alive. He caught her by surprised and she just panicked and her brain did the rest. Serena always had a difficult relationship with her power since she was young. When she was young Serena nearly killed her sister out of anger for stealing her crayons and it wasn't long after that she was shipped off to the X-Men school. Serena power allowed her to hurt people without touching them as long as she could see them. If she could touch them with her hands she could kill them, something she had done plenty of times when working for Hydra. Serena was no longer in control of her power, if she was scared or frightened she would just lash out and that is how the forest ranger ended up being struck by Serena. Serena had to leave, she was a danger to everyone. Without looking back Serena left the man on the forest floor unaware if he was still alive.

[ you're fine! my replies have been a little scattered too XD ]

Peggy couldn't hold back the smile that spread across her face when she finally reached Steve and was greeted by his voice. "Too many." She replied not really wanted to accept that'd it'd actually been so long since she'd seen Steve alive and well, though seeing him now was very nostalgic. "I do believe though that you still owe me a dance." She added having to tell him that. After all that was the last thing he'd promised her before going off and getting himself frozen for seventy years. Though she had actually thought he'd died. Either way she'd spent the last seventy years believing that he was dead and she'd never see him again. Yet here they were together again, and well he still owed her a dance.
Bucky was still a little shocked that Fury was actually going to let him go into the field to try and save Serena, but well he wasn't going to question why he wasn't trying to stop him or anything either. Honestly he was just going to go with it. Either way he would've found a way to leave this place and find her because well no one here besides him was fit for this mission honestly. They didn't know her like he did. Sure he didn't know her as well as he could, but he knew her well enough to feel confident enough to find her and bring her back safely.

[ sorry if this was crappy! ]

Steve couldn't help but let a smile escape his face as he glanced over Peggy, he was sudden felt relief and his nerves quickly washed away. Steve chuckled, "Yes I do, I never forgot that." It never left Steve's mind that he owned Peggy dance, it was one of the last things he said to her before he frozen and disappeared from the world. "We will have to sort something out as soon as possible." Steve did not want to leave the dance too long. "Do you want to go somewhere to eat?" suggested Steve, "So we can chat in private?" Steve was still a little suspicious about everything that went on with Hydra.
Serena found a hut, a tiny hut where she could spend the night. Serena had everything she needed for the night and as long as no one disturbed her she would fine. Serena had managed sure the door was slammed shut and she began to settle for the night ahead, she couldn't trust herself anymore. Serena was unsure how long she could run for because she seemed to be leaving a trail of bodies behind her everywhere she went.

(Sorry Serena bit is so short, was not sure what to write)

Peggy couldn't hold back her smile and the nod of her head. She agreed that they needed to sort everything out soon because well she didn't really want to have to wait too much longer until she got her dance with Steve. Not that waiting much longer would do anything. She'd already waited this long after all. "That sounds lovely." She said figuring that there was probably something involving Shield that he didn't want to be around when he was talking with her. And honestly she could understand that if everything she'd heard about the place recently was true. Which she had no doubts that it was, because she'd been somewhat suspicious of it at times herself.
Bucky didn't really know how long Steve was going to be gone, but he was pretty sure that someone would get him caught up on everything that was going on when he got back from whatever he was doing. For now though he couldn't worry about if Steve would be back in time to hear the plan, or if he'd be joining them when they left and things like that. All he could worry about right now was coming up with a plan. Figuring something out to find Serena and get her back here safely.

    [ you're fine. ]

Steve smiled but then the said smiled dropped, he need to help Bucky find that girl. "Did you hear about Bucky?" asked Steve, he wasn't sure how much Peggy knew about Bucky and the Winter Solider either way he would fill her in if needs be. "If you don't know about Bucky I can explain on the way but I might need your help with something SHIELD related," explained Steve, "I know this is all so sudden but I think it would be great if you could help." Steve knew Peggy might not want to help but if she did she would be a great help to finding Serena.
Serena twitched again as she heard the sound of rustling outside the hut and she could feel the panic begin to rise. Taking a breathe see began to ten until she felt calm, it was one of the few ways that stopped Serena from completely freaking out. Serena knew this would be the rest of her life, she had no one to turn to and she couldn't trust anyone let alone SHIELD or Hydra or however the people were that turned her into this monster she now was.

"Yea." Peggy said softly remembering how important Bucky had been to Steve back when she'd first met him. She could still remember a time when Steve would've done anything to save his best friend, and really it didn't seem like much had changed. Even if Bucky wasn't the same man anymore, at least from what she'd understood he wasn't the same. That was just how Steve was though, he cared about other more than himself and that was something that Peggy loved about him. She knew that no matter what he'd always be someone you could turn to if you really needed him. "Well if you really need me I'll try my best to help." She told him also knowing that SHEILD was different than it had been when it'd first been founded, she'd still do what she could to help though. For Steve. "So lead the way."
Bucky ran his hands over his head and sighed. It was driving him mad being cooped up here waiting for someone to tell him when he could go out and start looking for the girl. Honestly the longer he stood around there twiddling his thumbs the more in danger both Serena, and anyone she crossed paths with were. But at the same time he supposed you couldn't rush people coming up with a plan or whatever. Either way he really thought they needed to hurry up, or he was just going to leave and figure everything out on his own while he was searching for her. Which right now sounded like a better plan than what they'd come up with. Which was nothing.

Steve felt a little relived that Peggy was willing to come help Bucky out, Bucky was different but Steve still saw his best friend inside the man. Steve began to walk back to the room where he had left Bucky, "I know this isn't what I had planed in mind but it will help Bucky a lot and that is what I really want," explained Steve. Steve had never felt so alone after he woke up from being frozen, so finding Bucky was amazing and then hearing news that Peggy was still alive filled him with such joy, he was determined not to lose them again. It didn't take long for Steve to reach Bucky as he entered he saw that a wooded area was highlighted on the screen. "Why is Taverns Wood highlighted?" asked Steve, as he glanced over at Bucky. "Usually high energy signals have been picked up over the woods, we already have men in the area on the ground so if anything is discovered we will be the first to know," replied Agent Hill.

Maybe it was because she was hyper aware of her sense but she could hear the footsteps on people walking across the fallen leaves. Even though Serena had essentially trapped herself in the hut it didn't stop the panic from rising inside and her hands began to itch. The one thing that worried Serena was if she was caught, she would just flip back into the assassin she had been trained to be and that would not be good for anyone involved.

Peggy smiled at Steve, "it's fine really. I know what Bucky means to you and I wouldn't want to stand in the way of helping him," she told him. Yea Bucky had been taken by Hydra, and there was no telling how much damage was done to him in that time, but that kind of just made Peggy want to help more. Bucky was and always would be Steve's best friend, and Peggy cared very deeply about Steve therefore she'd do whatever she could to help him however she could.

"I don't think it's a good idea to send just anyone in there," Bucky said shaking his head. "Even though I can't say I know her overly well or anything, I know what Serena can do and if anyone just walks in there especially if she's on high alert then it's very possible they won't be making it back. They probably won't even make it long enough to tell us if there's anything," he said wishing someone would listen to him. Here though he wasn't sure anyone ever would listen to him.

Peggy didn't know exactly what, or who they were looking for, but she had a hunch that Bucky was right. She also got the feeling that people around here still didn't trust him fully, so they probably weren't taking him seriously, and in the end that could cause issues. Though she wasn't entirely sure yet what she could do about that.

Steve glanced over at his friend, it was clear that many still saw him as threat despite the amount of progress he had been making recently. "Me and Bucky will head out, go find Serena. We can head over to those woods, the one that has a high amount of energy escaping from it," explained Steve, if he went with out into field with Bucky surely they would allow that. "If anything happens, you will be both brought back here in an instant," warned Fury, "I trust you Captain, don't let me down." Steve nodded and glanced over at Peggy, "We will be back as soon as possible, promise," announced Steve as he approached Peggy.

(Not sure what to put for Serena for the time being)
