Aria was relieved to see Bellamy nod, certain that he’d understood her silent request, and her expression softened with the thought. Hopefully, everything would be okay. Evie would come back safe, Bellamy would protect her. Aria had to believe that. Hearing her sister’s words, she nodded as she processed the directions, running them over in her mind. “Alright. I’ll have Raven come with me so that she can check it out, since I wouldn’t have any idea where to begin on looking for parts or ways to fix the radio,” she assured, watching her sister with a small smile, hoping that everything would be okay. “Maybe, by the time you get back, the radio will be fixed and we’ll be able to talk to the Ark.” And, more importantly, they’d get to let their parents know that they were safe.

Parting from her sister, she watched Evie join the group, her eyes going to Bellamy again. “Be careful,” she told them, though she was mostly focused on Bellamy at that point because she’d already practically begged Evie to be careful while she was out. She stared for a few more moments, watching them leave, before she turned and walked away to go find Raven.
Finn wasn’t sure how to react with the whole thing. He knew the twins weren’t his biggest fans right now, but he wanted to try to fix everything. He wanted to fix what had happened between himself and Evie. At this point, though, he wasn’t sure if that was possible. With Raven on the ground with them, Evie seemed to be doing all she could to avoid him. It hurt, but he knew that he deserved it. He’d hurt Evie, after all, and he deserved much more pain than what he was getting right now. Shaking his head slightly, he looked around at the group, watching them for a moment as he began following them. He was sure that Raven wouldn’t be too happy about him leaving with the group, but he knew the group would need his skills, plus he wanted to be around in case anything happened, so he could protect Evie.

With the thought of Evie, his gaze went to her while she stuck close to Bellamy. It surprised him, since he recalled her distaste for and distrust in him when it came to Bellamy spending so much time with Aria. But, perhaps Evie felt that nothing Bellamy could do would be any worse than what Finn had done. He felt his heart sink a bit with the thought but he tried not to think about it too much and instead focused his attention fully ahead so that he could start tracking.

(I’ll put Bellamy and Evie’s reply together, and sorry if Raven’s part is shorter.)

Raven watched as Finn volunteered to join the searching party, she wasn’t sure how she felt about him leaving when she had only just arrived and had been reunited with him. She thought he would have wanted to stay there with her, they had been apart for so long but he seemed to have other plans. Plans that didn’t involve her, she knew she had to find a way to fix the broken radio but it still would have been nice to have her boyfriend there beside her. She grabbed the radio and walked over to one of the twins, “Do you know if there is anything I can use in the drop ship?” She asked Aria, she had never spoken or had anything to do with the twins before now.

But she had seen Finn enter their tent last night before she launched the flares, she wasn’t sure why or what he spoke about with Evie but Raven was trying to stop herself from becoming jealous. Finn surely wouldn’t move on that quickly from her, not with how long their history was. And it wasn’t like they had even broken up when he was arrested, in her opinion they were still happily together in their strong relationship.
Evie knew Bellamy should be the last person she wanted to be near, after everything he had done in order to protect himself. He could have stopped the only way for them to contact the Ark when he tossed the radio into the river, and Evie still wasn’t close to forgiving him for what he has done and for how much he hurt Aria. But in her eyes, what he did was nothing compared to the pain she felt after Finn betrayed her. And she did feel safe when Bellamy was around, she might not trust him but seeing how he still cared for her sister made Evie realise that he would protect her if need be. She watched as Finn made his way to the front of the group so he could search for any signs that Octavia had been that way, the group walked in silence though. Their eyes scanning past the trees in all direction as they moved, Evie’s heart was already racing in her chest which each step that she took because she knew the dangers that hid themselves in the trees and bushes.

“We’ll find her, I know we will.” Evie whispered trying to reassure Bellamy, she still felt horrible for not telling him sooner that she had seen his sister leaving the camp. If Aria had wandered off without Evie knowing and no one told her until the next morning, she would be furious with them and wouldn’t want them around. She would also be furious with her sister if that ever did happen, not that Evie thought it would because Aria just wouldn’t. They had been apart for a long time, Evie wouldn’t allow that again. “I know we will,” Bellamy replied quietly as he knew what Evie was doing, he could see in her eyes how guilty she felt but he didn’t blame her. Octavia knew exactly what she was doing when she snuck away from camp, he was more angry at her than Evie.

(No worries! I figured Aria’s parts would start getting shorter after my last reply, anyways :) )

Aria blinked, looking to Raven with mild surprise. “Um… Not in the drop ship, no. I’m pretty sure we would have found it already,” she admitted as she watched her for a moment. “But Evie thinks there might be something in a bunker nearby, so I was going to head there. I was actually coming to look for you to see if you’d want to come along, since you’d know what to look for, whereas I wouldn’t even know where to start.” Offering a smile, she lifted her shoulders in a small shrug, hoping to get her mind off her concern for her sister, but she wasn’t sure it would work. At least this would keep her occupied and distracted. Or, at least, that was what she was hoping for, anyways. “So… Are you up for a little adventure?”
Finn fell silent as they walked, focusing on tracking Octavia’s path - or what he assumed was Octavia’s path, anyways, since it was fresher compared to any of the others and nobody had been out of camp since the night before. He could hear Bellamy and Evie talking and he tried not to focus on their short conversation, but he couldn’t help it. A part of him worried that he’d inevitably be left behind and forgotten by Evie. And, really, he knew he deserved that - he deserved that and so, so much more. That didn’t mean that he wanted that to happen, though. The thought pained him and he tried not to think about it too much. It wouldn’t do any good and it would only distract him from what he was supposed to be doing.

“It looks like her path goes this way,” he mentioned as he followed it, though they soon found a steep drop-off of a hill and he frowned deeply as he peered down at it, catching sight of something down below. “Wait a minute, what’s that?” He pointed, motioning towards what he saw. It was some kind of item, he noticed, but he couldn’t get a good look from where he was. Moreover, for a moment, he thought he saw blood, too, and he paused, glancing to the others with concern.

(No problem, I also couldn’t remember what Octavia dropped when she fell down the hill)

Raven looked at Aria before nodding her head, “I’m always up for an adventure.” She spoke as she was a little disappointed that the drop ship couldn’t supply her with anything that could help her in fixing the radio, although Aria was right. If there was anything in the drop ship, someone would have found it already and most likely used it in order to contact the Ark. If that happened, she wouldn’t have needed to come down and make sure that everyone was still alive. “Lead the way,” She had no idea where the bunker was or how to get there, she would follow Aria until they found this bunker for themselves.

Raven started to follow Aria away from camp, making sure to keep her guard up but also to not let Aria leave her sight as she would be in trouble if she got lost. “So… how has it been down here?” She asked as she hadn’t really had time to talk to Finn about being on Earth, he also hadn’t told her much about his experience and what’s been going on since he got there.
Bellamy gave Evie a reassuring nudge as they walked, however their attention was soon captured by Finn who suddenly spoke up. Evie moved over to where Finn was now standing, dread filled her body when she saw how steep the hill was but she noticed how some pieces of grass had been pulled from the dirt. In the way that a body would remove the grass if someone had fallen down the hill side, “Are you sure? Couldn’t a Grounder have gone that way?” Bellamy asked Finn as he didn’t want to believe his sister had fallen down a hill and gotten herself hurt, the hill was also taking them in a direction they hadn’t gone before. Bellamy glanced ahead to the forest, the forest looked denser and that frightened him. Surely Octavia wouldn’t have wandered off into the forest? Or if she had, she may not have gone willingly.

“She had too Bellamy… these are the only tracks.” Evie’s voice softened as she too didn’t want to think about Octavia tripping and falling, but she also knew if they wanted to find Octavia then they would have to follow her trail. So, without much thought for her own well being, Evie carefully started making her way down the hill as well. “Evie…” Bellamy hissed when she moved away from the group, no one had a choice though so he followed Evie. Bending down Evie noticed some dry grass and dirt was covered by blood, it wasn’t enough blood to cause her to panic but it did mean that Octavia must have injured herself enough that she was bleeding. What didn’t make sense to her was how the trail finished, Evie could see one pair of footprints in the dirt but the boot size clearly belonged to a male. Her heart dropped as she glanced over to Finn, she didn’t want to say anything in front of Bellamy but it wasn’t looking good for Octavia.

(I can’t remember either! I think it was something off the makeshift backpacks they made? Or her belt?)

Aria offered a small smile and nodded slightly before she turned to lead the way. She kept in mind the directions that Evie had given her, because she definitely didn’t want to get lost out there, especially if her sister came back sooner rather than later. The last thing she wanted to do was cause Evie concern. There was also the possibility of having a panic attack if she got lost and, since Bellamy was the only person who knew about the panic attacks, she wanted to avoid that possibility as much as possible, so she knew she’d have to keep focused on the information Evie had told her.

Hearing Raven’s words, though, she blinked with mild surprise as she led the way out of camp and in the direction Evie had mentioned. “Well… Dangerous,” she eventually said, “The first day, a group went out to look for Mount Weather and they found this giant serpent in the water. But, more than that, once they got across to get to Mount Weather, Jasper was hit with some kind of spear and then he was taken and strung up as bait. Some of the others went to save him, but that was when we found out that we’re not alone. And then there’s acid fog which has killed some members of the group. But, even the group itself is dangerous. They tried to hang Murphy because a girl killed Wells and the group thought it was Murphy who’d done it. Or, really, Clarke thought it was Murphy and she convinced everybody else.”
Finn frowned deeply when Evie began the trek down and he quickly followed her, wanting to make sure that she would be safe. The last thing he wanted as for her to fall down the hill like Octavia had apparently done and get hurt or worse. Kneeling down next to her, he stared at the sight for a few moments, taking in the blood and the footprints. They were definitely too large for Octavia and too deep for any of their group. His brows furrowed together as he stared down at it for a few moments before he looked to Evie, gauging her reaction, but he nodded in understanding because this didn’t seem like it was leading to a good possibility at all.

Straightening, he cleared his throat, making sure to avoid looking at Bellamy because he didn’t want to alarm him or cause him concern, because Finn knew he wouldn’t be able to keep a straight face. No, he’d end up letting his concern show without meaning to and he definitely didn’t want that. He didn’t want to freak Bellamy out. “Come on, guys. This way,” he said, motioning with his arm as he slyly began following the trail of footprints, though he made sure to be a bit away from it in hopes that nobody else would notice the footprints at all. As long as nobody besides himself and Evie noticed them, then there would be no reason for Bellamy to notice and realize that something might be very wrong. But, because Finn was worried now, he couldn’t help but to pick up his pace a bit, because, if Octavia was in trouble, they needed to get to her fast.

Raven was shocked by what she heard from Aria, if all of that happened then why hadn’t Finn told her? Why hadn’t he told her so she could prepare herself or comfort him about what he’s seen and been through? She couldn’t imagine living through any of what Aria told her. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have asked… I had no idea that’s what you’ve all been through, Finn hasn’t mentioned anything to me.” She spoke trying to keep her voice low but still loud enough for Aria to hear her clearly, but now that she knew what they were up against. It pushed her harder to get the radio working, they needed the Ark more now than ever if they all wanted to keep surviving. They would need the numbers that the Ark would provide, if no one was culled in order to keep the last bit of oxygen.

“I’ll do my very best to fix this radio or I’ll find another way to contact the Ark,” Raven hated making a promise like that, because it was a promise that she might not be able to keep. But she wouldn’t stop until they could contact the Ark and let them all know to come down to Earth, and to come quickly. “I briefly saw your parents before I deployed from the Ark, their worried about you two.” Raven shared with Aria as she had a right to know that her parents rushed to see Raven before she left the Ark, she saw how scared they were not knowing if their daughters were alive or dead.
Bellamy picked up buckle that must have fallen off Octavia’s backpack when she landed at the bottom of the hill, he forced himself to keep his mind clear from any thoughts as he knew he had to keep his emotions flat. If he started to freak out or panic, it would only slow him down and right now that couldn’t happen. His sister needed his help, so he wasn’t going to stop until he found her. “That doesn’t mean anything, Bellamy. Our backpacks weren’t really made to last,” Evie looked over at him as he pushed the buckle into his pocket, his eyes landing on Evie as he gave a short nod. “Yeah, I know.” He mumbled but continued to follow the direction that Finn was taking them, the group began heading into the thicker forest. “Everyone keep your eyes open, do not drop your guard.” He ordered the group as he could see on their faces just how scared they were, he was tempted to tell them all to go back to camp so they would be safe but they were the ones who agreed to come with him.

Evie made sure each step she took was as quiet as she could make it, as to not draw any more attention to them. But she still knew that the Grounders had probably already seen them, however she was yet to actually see any of them in the forest. Her hand reached out and gently touched Jasper’s hand, to reassure him that she was still there and that she wouldn’t be leaving him. She was still surprised that he had volunteered to join the search party, part of her wished she had told him to stay at camp as he had been through so much already. Keeping her breathing as even as she could, her heart was still racing in her chest as they made their way deeper into the forest. Her eyes would glance over at the large footsteps, to make sure they were going in the same direction. But then her eyes landed on something that froze her in her place, a few yards away was a Grounder. He was staring right at her as he stood perfectly still among the trees, and she whispered the first name that came from her mouth as fear gripped her tightly. “Finn…”

Aria shook her head slightly in response. “No, it’s okay. You’ll need to know all of this eventually, anyways,” she assured as she looked over, offering a small smile. Evie was right, Raven didn’t deserve what Finn had done to her. Raven was too nice to deserve that. She’d have to keep Evie and Finn’s secret, in order to make sure that Raven didn’t end up getting hurt the way that Evie had. “It really seems like there’s always… Something new to learn about Earth, some new danger around the next tree… It just sucks, since when we landed, we all had so much hope and excitement. Well, most of us… Some of the group got focused on finding Mount Weather, as I mentioned, and… Evie and I just did everything we could to make ourselves useful to the group so that they wouldn’t try to kill us.”

There wasn’t a point in sugar-coating it, because that was exactly what they had done. They’d done everything they could to ensure that they got to survive and to help the group survive. It seemed almost selfish, but they were still useful to the group either way and neither Aria nor Evie wanted to die. And they didn’t want to lose any of the friends they’d made on the ground, either. At the mention of her parents, though, Aria could feel her eyes water a bit and she quickly swiped at them, focusing her attention ahead. “Yeah… We expected as much. We were refusing to take our bracelets off, then Clarke had Monty work on trying to make her bracelet a way to communicate, but she really just wanted to hurt her mom by making her think she was dead… When Monty couldn’t fix it, it destroyed all the bracelets and that… Really hurt because it was our only chance to contact the Ark.” She glanced back to Raven, offering another smile. “Well, until you landed, anyways. So, thank you for giving us that hope again.”
Finn blinked when he heard Evie’s voice and he looked towards her with concern, only to spot the Grounder. It was odd, the Grounder was just standing there, staring at them. Concerned, he quickly moved to grab Evie’s hand, looking around to the others. “Run!” he told them before he ran, tugging Evie off with him. As they ran, he could hear one of the others get attacked but he didn’t dare look back. Somebody up ahead ran into a trap and it killed them instantly. Panicking, Finn veered off in another direction, still tugging Evie along in hopes of keeping her safe and protecting her. He knew that he couldn’t do much to do either, but he could try, because, otherwise, the Grounders would definitely use whatever advantage they could find to kill every single one of them.

“They’re picking us off one by one!” Jasper called with panic as he followed them, glancing around with panic as he could see a few of the others getting separated. His eyes widened with shock and he came to a stop as they got to a clearing, looking around with realization. “It’s like they’re herding us,” he muttered with shock, looking towards Finn and Evie, unsure of if any of the others were around them anymore. From what he’d seen, everybody had gotten separated, but surely they couldn’t be too far away, right? Finn paused, looking around for a few moments, trying to listen for any noise, though he nodded to Jasper’s words. “I think you’re right,” Finn mentioned, looking to Evie for a moment, then to Jasper, “They’re trying to make it easier for themselves, so that they can kill all of us.” That was the only explanation. It was a semi-large group, after all, a large enough group that they could cause a problem if the Grounders didn’t go at them carefully and strategically.

Raven like everyone on the Ark, had no idea what kind of dangers lurked on Earth. If she hadn’t been so damn selfish, then Finn would have never been arrested and he wouldn’t have been on the dropship. She knew it was her fault that he was on Earth in the first place, she’d never forget about that. Hearing Aria tell her about what she and her sister have done, made her realise how hard it would have to be for the twins. All she had been thinking about since she arrived was Finn and making contact with the Ark, she hadn’t stopped to think about anyone else in the group including the twins. Of course, certain people in the group would probably want the twin’s dead. They were able to live a normal life when so many others got floated for crimes they committed while on the Ark.

“I didn’t even think about that, I guess you learnt quickly that you had to prove yourself to them. That you’d be useful to have around,” Raven wasn’t all that shocked to hear that the delinquents so easily turned on each other, that is what happened on the Ark so why should they think of doing things differently. Raven nodded her head slightly as she listened, “I overheard them talking about how all of a sudden, all the bracelets flicked off and showed us that you all had died. Some of them believed it, others like your parents didn’t believe it.” She spoke as she continued to follow Aria through the forest, it was a beautiful place and Raven would have enjoyed it more if she didn’t know how dangerous being there was for her. “You don’t have to thank me, I wasn’t going to leave you all down here. Besides I would have died up there anyways, so I didn’t see any reason not to try my luck down here.” Raven smiled softly at Aria.
Evie’s eyes couldn’t leave the Grounder, she didn’t have time to think about why the Grounder was just standing there before she felt someone take her hand. She was suddenly being pulled forward, looking ahead she saw Finn was running and was taking her with him. She followed him as panic settled in, she heard a scream of pain and fear behind them but she forced herself not to look back over her shoulder. She knew what happened, she didn’t want to see whoever it was that had been attacked and killed by the Grounders. She did glance around her and saw more Grounders were appearing and surrounding them, like it was a game to them. Fear gripped every inch of Evie but she kept running with Finn, they couldn’t stop because if they did then they would die. They could die either way, but Evie tried not to think like that as it would only slow her down. Then she saw one of them run into a trap not too far ahead of them, tears welled in Evie’s eyes as she knew she wouldn’t be able to save him.

Once they reached a clearing and stopped running, her free hand grabbed Jasper’s arm and pulled him in closer to her. Her chest heaving as she scanned the forest around them, the Grounders were smart and knew this area better than they did. Evie couldn’t see or think of a way for them to get out of this, they were surrounded by skilled fighters who clearly didn’t care about them. She couldn’t find anywhere for them to hide, they could run but Evie didn’t know which direction they came in. “We have to do something…” She muttered as she saw a Grounder head straight for them, but she jumped a little when a loud horn sounded. All the Grounders froze as they looked towards the sky, then they ran away as the horn sounded again. Bellamy hadn’t been too far away from Evie, Finn and Jasper so he ran faster towards them when he heard the horn as he knew what was coming. Acid Fog. “Jasper, get the tent from your backpack!” He urged in a panic as he had seen Jasper pack a spare tent into his backpack, watching the boy drop the backpack before he pulled the tent out. Bellamy reached them and helped Jasper unfold the tent, “Get inside now.” He ordered as they would all have to hold the tent to the ground, but hopefully it would keep them safe from the fog.

    (AH, it finally loaded.)

Aria felt a sense of relief fill her when she heard Raven mention that their parents hadn’t given up hope, that their parents still believed they were alive. It eased her worries a bit; at least her parents weren’t mourning her and her sister needlessly. “Yeah, you have a point there,” she admitted, offering a small, tense smile over at Raven. “I just really hope that nobody died… That somebody saw those flares before they sent whoever they could off to their deaths.” Her heart ached with the thought and she tried not to think about it. Looking ahead, she caught sight of something and she quickly moved towards it, blinking with mild surprise.

“I think this is it,” she mentioned, looking to Raven before she moved to open the bunker door and went to climb down the ladder, peering around a bit. Pulling out her flashlight, she ran the light over the area a bit as she moved around to start searching for anything they could use. “So, what exactly should we be looking for, anyways?” she asked, arching a brow, “So that I at least know what to keep an eye out for, since… Well, otherwise, I won’t be of much help.” And she wanted to help as much as she could.
Finn was quick to help Jasper and Bellamy with the tent, pulling Evie under it and holding it tightly down, though he couldn’t help but to worry that this might not work. They didn’t know how strong the acid was or whether it’d be able to burn through the tent. With what they knew about the fog, it was definitely dangerous and strong, after all. Trying not to think about it, he looked towards Evie with concern, making sure to help keep her side down as well because the last thing he wanted was for her to get hurt in any way by the Acid Fog. After everything that had happened, he still wanted to protect her - now more than ever, even.

As time passed, though, his brows furrowed slightly. “Do you think it’s gone?” he asked after a moment, “Although… It doesn’t seem like it ever came…” Because, surely, there would have been some sign that the Acid Fog had reached them. They would have had to know somehow. Without waiting for an answer, he went ahead to tug the tent off of them while Jasper quickly said, “No, wait-!” But, when the tent was gone, even Jasper’s brows furrowed with confusion. “What’s going on?” Finn asked, a small frown on his features as he glanced around and moved to stand up.

Raven also hoped that no one had yet volunteered to die, in order to protect others on the Ark. She wasn’t sure what had happened, as she had launched her pod before she could find out what was going on. A relieved smile formed across her face when Aria found what she thought was the bunker that her sister had told her about, following Aria down the ladder her eyes instantly started to scan the room. “Anything that’s electronic would be the best way to fix the radio,” Raven explained as that is what she really needed, anything with wires or batteries or components would be what Raven would take with her. “I’ll start searching on this side, if you wanted to look on the other side?” She asked as it would be easier and faster if they searched one side of the room each, and she wanted to get back to the camp quickly as she had to fix the radio.

“And you’ve already helped, you found this bunker after all with just directions.” If it weren’t for the twins then they wouldn’t have been standing in the bunker right now, and Raven most likely wouldn’t have a decent chance to fix the radio and contact the Ark. So, she got to work in searching the bunker and she went through everything. Most of what she found was old junk that wouldn’t be able to help her in the slightest, she left most of the things in the bunker behind as she worked around her side of the room. “All I have is junk.” She was becoming frustrated with what she was finding, and she was losing hope by the second.
Evie was silent once she was inside the tent, she was silent because she was internally panicking but she didn’t want the guys to know. She felt like she was going to break down crying at any second, she had seen what the Acid Fog had done to Atom and she didn’t want any of them to go through that pain and suffering. She looked at Finn when he helped keep her side of the tent down as they braced for the fog to surround them and potentially kill them, for Evie it felt like hours had past as they all waited even though it was really only seconds. Frowning she listened to Finn and she realised he was right, last time the fog didn’t take this long to come, in fact the fog seemed to move very quickly so it should have reached them by now. But she still hadn’t expected Finn to rip the tent away from them, their only protection was gone, but once the tent was gone Evie saw that there was nothing waiting for them outside.

Standing up she looked around in confusion, “It doesn’t make sense.” She muttered mostly to herself as Bellamy and Jasper looked just as confused by the whole thing, “Maybe it was pushed in another direction.” Bellamy suggested but there wasn’t much of a breeze in that part of the forest, he had seen firsthand how fast the Acid Fog moved and it wouldn’t have been pushed in another direction unless it was a windy day. “Wait… who’s that?” Bellamy saw a Grounder through the trees, he was standing there watching them until he was noticed and then he took off running. So, Bellamy chased after him without a second thought for his safety as this Grounder could have Octavia or know where she was or he could find out where his sister was. “Bellamy wait!” Evie hissed as something felt off about this situation, although she ran after Bellamy so he wouldn’t get himself killed.

(Aria’s part is short, sorry x.x)

Aria nodded slightly as she began searching the other side, scanning through things. Finding a box, she tugged out what she could before finding some sort of toy car. “Hey, will this work?” she asked as she found a controller that seemed to go with it and she held them both up. “I mean, I don’t really know what they are, but they look electronic-ish.” She offered a small, unsure smile and shrugged, though she hoped that the two items were at least usable. Worst case, she’d just have to keep searching, because she couldn’t let herself give up. They needed to fix the radio as quickly as possible.
Finn blinked when he saw Bellamy rushing off. “Bellamy, stop!” he called out, “What are you doing?!” Quickly, he helped Jasper pack up the tent before he rushed after Bellamy, hoping to catch him and stop him from going on whatever suicide mission he was so focused on at this point. He was worried that Bellamy was going to get them all killed and that was the last thing he wanted, especially when Evie was with them. “Slow down! You’re going to get us killed!” He tried to keep his voice quieter that time, worried that they’d attract attention to themselves again or that Grounders would come after them.

“What if we’re being led into a trap?” Jasper asked as he rushed with them, worried and panicked and concerned. After everything that had happened since their arrival on Earth, it wouldn’t really be all that surprising in his opinion. “We can’t think about that right now,” Finn quickly told him, but he picked his pace to where he was catching up with Bellamy in hopes of trying to get him to see reason or trying to talk some sort of sense into him. Bellamy was clearly on a mission, though, so he wasn’t sure any of them would be able to get him to see how dangerous this was.

    (No problem..)

Raven turned around and eyes the objects that Aria was holding, moving across the room she took both the remote and toy car into her hands and looked them over. “This is perfect, let’s go back to camp. I should be able to fix the radio with this,” Raven smiled in excitement as this could be all she needed to get the radio working, she pulled her backpack off and placed the items inside the bag before zipping it shut. This time nothing was going to stop her from fixing the radio, she climbed up the ladder and held the bunker door open for Aria to climb out. Shutting the bunker door, she looked at the twin. “Thanks for this, I wouldn’t have found these otherwise.” Raven had to thank Aria and she would also thank Evie when she got back to camp, as she was the one who knew about the bunker.

Letting Aria lead the way back to the camp, Raven followed behind quickly as the sooner she was back at camp, the sooner she could work on getting the radio to work. She didn’t expect it would take her long, only a few parts of the radio were damaged by the water. So, if she changed those parts out with new parts, the radio should turn on and work for them to contact the Ark. The walk back to camp seemed much shorter, Raven rushed off to the drop ship so she could get to work on the radio. Monty saw Aria and moved over to her, "Hey. I've been chatting to some of the others, about what we were talking about before and they seem keen to follow you." He smiled at Aria as it was a good start, the people he had talked to didn't seem to care that Aria was a twin now that they had seen what she was like as a person.
Bellamy blocked out what the others were saying, none of them but Evie understood what he was feeling. They didn’t understand the pain he felt not knowing where his sister was, if she was safe or hurt or even dead. If this Grounder was stupid enough to be watching them, then Bellamy would use that in order to find Octavia and if it was a trap, well than he would deal with that if he had to. Running after the Grounder, he tried to keep sight of him but suddenly he was gone. Bellamy slowed down but kept jogging through the forest until he found a cave, there was nowhere else for the Grounder to have gone so he headed into the cave. “Octavia…” He sighed in relief when he saw his sister alive, apparently, she had knocked the Grounder out. “Please let’s go, Bellamy. I want to go back to camp,” Octavia begged as she didn’t want her brother to hurt the Grounder, not only had he saved her life a few times now but he had stopped her leg from bleeding and he hadn’t hurt her in any way.

Evie followed Bellamy into the cave with Finn and Jasper close behind her, “We’re taking him back with us.” Bellamy spoke as he looked over at Finn and Jasper, “We’re not carrying him back to camp, Bellamy. Just leave him here,” Evie panted from the run, she slowly got her breathe back as she cautiously stepped closer to the Grounder. She wanted to make sure he would be okay if they did leave him in the cave, but the closer she got to him she noticed there was something tied on his belt. Bending down she reached her hand out, her fingers brushed over a horn. He had blown the horn in the forest… to protect them from the other Grounders. “Guys, he…” Evie was cut off by a sudden burst of pain in her stomach, falling back she grunted in pain from the dagger that pierced her stomach.

Aria smiled but shook her head to Raven’s words. “Really, you don’t have to thank me. I mean, you’re the one who’s going to be fixing the radio. We’ll all be thanking you before long,” she chimed, grinning broadly, because they’d owe Raven big time for helping with this. After all, Raven hadn’t necessarily had to help with this at all. She could have just gotten down to Earth with them and dealt with the issues Earth had with them without worrying about contacting the Ark at all. But, Raven was doing so much to help and it eased Aria’s mind a bit. They were getting so much closer to being able to contact the Ark, to being able to let the Ark know that it was safe to come down, to being able to see their parents again.

As they arrived at camp, she watched Raven head to the drop ship, though she blinked with surprise when Monty came over, shock etching across her features when she processed what he had said. “What, really?” she asked, though there was a bit of excitement in her voice with the mention of it. In all honesty, she hadn’t actually expected much to come out of her attempt to take leadership of the group. She’d been worried that the group would still see them as the twins whose family got away with having two children. But, knowing that others were actually interested in the idea made her heart swell. “That’s… That’s so great, Monty!” she said happily before she quickly moved to hug him. “Thank you!”
Finn had moved to help Bellamy get the chain off of Octavia, but he paused when he heard Evie speak, his attention mostly focused on the pained noise that escaped her and the thump that he heard soon after. Looking over with concern, he was shocked to see Evie crumpled on the ground and he rushed over. “Evie?” he called with concern, his concern and panic spiking when he saw the knife in her stomach. “Oh… Oh, my God. Evie, listen to me, you’ll be okay. You’ll be okay.” But, could he really promise that? He wasn’t even sure what to do and he looked around with panic before he quickly moved to tug a cloth from his bag, placing it around the dagger. He knew not to pry the dagger out; that would just make her bleed more or risk more internal damage than what might have already been done.

When Jasper saw what had happened, he quickly rushed over, using a rock to knock the Grounder back out. “Chain him up, so he can’t hurt anybody else!” Finn quickly said, as he saw that Octavia had already been unchained. Jasper nodded and moved to drag the Grounder over to the chain, locking him into it before he looked to Evie. “Will she be okay?” he asked as he moved over quickly, scanning over his friend with concern. Finn couldn’t voice the fact that he didn’t know; he didn’t want to make Evie panic or worry. “Of course she will,” Finn said instead before he looked around to the others. “We have to get her back, now. She can’t fix herself up, but maybe Clarke can.” He knew Clarke’s mother had been a part of the medical bay, after all. “We have to hurry!”

“Well yeah…” Monty shrugged his shoulders lightly as he didn’t think it was a big deal, he didn’t overly trust Clarke or Bellamy to lead the group anymore. He did however trust Aria a lot, so it made sense to him that he should try to recruit as many people as he could in following Aria once she made her move to take over the leadership. “No need to thank me, besides with the others still gone I didn’t have much to do.” He couldn’t help but blush when she hugged him, he somewhat awkwardly returned the hug as he hadn’t been expecting it and he also wasn’t used to having pretty girls give him any attention. “We can do more later, but I think it’ll help us if Bellamy and Clarke aren’t around.” He found it much easier to talk to them without Bellamy there, and Clarke was off doing something on her own, so she also wasn’t around.

“Did you see the others out there? I thought they would have been back by now,” Monty voiced his concern to Aria, he didn’t want to worry her. He wasn’t too worried with the time the group was taking, but the length of time they had been gone for meant they either got into trouble or they had gone a long way from camp. Both of those thoughts crossed Monty’s mind, but he wasn’t letting himself think about them, he hoped that they had found Octavia and she was just being stubborn or she had gotten into a fight with her brother and that was the reason why they were taking so long in returning.
Evie whimpered in pain as every movement she made sent pain flashing through her body, even breathing was causing her pain. Her eyes focused on Finn as a tear escaped the corner of her eyes, she had never felt that much pain before. A sharp, burning pain that seemed to fill her entire body. “Evie…” Bellamy stared at the knife and the blood that was staining her shirt, “We’ll get you back to camp.” He promised her before he turned to look at the Grounder, he should be unconscious for a while considering how hard Jasper hit him with the rock. “Finn, Jasper grab him. I’m not letting him go free now,” He ordered as the Grounder was going to pay for this, Evie didn’t deserve to get stabbed. Moving over he as carefully as he could, lifted Evie up into his arms. His heart broke when she cried out in pain from the movement, “You’ll be okay.” He promised which he hated doing, as there was a chance she wouldn’t be, but he wasn’t going to think like that.

He carried Evie out of the cave, glancing over his shoulder he made sure that Finn and Jasper were doing alright in moving the Grounder. “We have to move quickly,” He told them as Evie needed help right now, she wouldn’t be able to wait for much longer before her body shut down from whatever damage the knife had done. Evie’s eyes grew heavy as the pain became unbearable and then everything went black for her, she fell unconscious which eased the pain. Bellamy had never felt that focused on one thing before, he was going to make sure that Evie survived this attack. He allowed his instinct to take over in the direction he hurried in, it still felt like ages before his eyes landed on the camp. “Aria!” He called out knowing she was the first person he had to see, “Clarke!” He called out next as she was the only person who could help Evie, reaching camp he carried Evie inside.

Before Aria could answer Monty, she heard Bellamy calling for her and her heart sank. His voice sounded desperate and she had a bad feeling sink into her gut because there was only one reason he’d call out to her first and there was only one reason Evie wouldn’t be rushing to find her. Heading towards the sound, she froze at the sight she was greeted with, her heart breaking. “What happened?” she asked with shock and concern before she rushed over quickly. “Bellamy, what happened to my sister?” She felt a panic begin to fill her but she forced it away. She couldn’t panic right now, not when something had clearly happened to Evie. It was then that she saw Finn and Jasper dragging a Grounder over, though.

“This Grounder attacked her,” Finn told Aria as they drew closer, his gaze going to Evie with concern. “He stabbed her. We got back as fast as we could.” But a part of him worried that it hadn’t been fast enough. He worried that Evie could be beyond saving by now, but he tried to force the concern away. He couldn’t let himself think like that, because it wasn’t true. Evie would be just fine. She wouldn’t die. He had to believe that with everything within himself, because Evie was strong. Evie was too strong to just die now. It couldn’t happen. As long as he could help it or stop it, he wouldn’t let it happen. “Bellamy had us drag the Grounder back. We found Octavia, too. Now, we have to focus on saving Evie.”

Clarke joined them by then, blinking with shock and concern at the sight. “Bellamy, lay her on the table,” she quickly told her, though she could hear the wind blowing harder outside. That didn’t sound good. Shaking the thought away, she looked around, her eyes going to the Grounder before she scoffed and looked to Raven. “Please tell me you have the radio fixed by now. I don’t know if I can save her without the Ark’s help.” Which meant they definitely needed to contact the Ark immediately. She shot Bellamy a pointed look, but otherwise moved to clean off the table for Bellamy to lay Evie down on.

Aria watched, finding it hard to focus. She wasn’t sure what she could do, so she tried to force herself into gear. “Um, a storm’s coming,” she mentioned eventually, looking to Finn and Jasper. “So, we have to get everybody inside, but we’ll have to keep the Grounder isolated, so put him in the top part of the drop ship.” She nodded once, watching Finn and Jasper take the Grounder up the ladder before she looked to Evie with concern. She watched her sister for a moment before she went outside to call everybody inside for shelter.

After Finn and Jasper got the Grounder chained up, Finn went back down the ladder to rush to Evie’s side, watching her with concern, looking her over. He wasn’t sure there was anything he could to to help her, but he wanted to be there for her, just in case. He didn’t want to leave her side. “You’ll be okay,” he assured her quietly, even though he was sure she wouldn’t be able to hear him in her unconscious state. “We’re not going to lose you. You’ll be okay.” Because they had to believe that. He needed Evie to be okay. He needed her in his life. He couldn’t lose her.

Bellamy carried Evie into the drop ship and carefully laid her down on the table that Clarke cleared, he couldn’t believe he had allowed Evie to get hurt. He hadn’t even noticed how close she had gotten to the Grounder in the cave, if he had then he would have stopped her. “I’m sorry,” He whispered as his eyes landed on Aria, stepping back he turned to the delinquents that were entering the drop ship so they could all wait until the storm passed. “Everyone up to the second floor, now!” He called out firmly as Clarke needed space if she was going to save Evie’s life, which she had to do because he wouldn’t let her fail.

“I’m trying, okay.” Raven replied as she glanced over to Evie, she noticed the way Finn rushed to her side and spoke to her. However, she pushed those thoughts from her mind. They were counting on her to fix the radio, the only chance Evie had to survive was if she could fix the radio. Raven could handle the pressure that was now sitting on her shoulders, so she sat down across the drop ship so she had space to think and work. She now understood what they had been facing since they crashed to Earth, how more of them hadn’t been killed was beyond her. Most of them were kids, none of them had been prepared for anything like this. None of them knew how to fight or survive being attacked, and yet most of them have.

Octavia rushed back outside as she grabbed Monty’s moonshine, she brought the bottle over to Clarke so she could use it to disinfectant Evie’s stab wound. Then she helped shut the door of the drop ship in hopes they’d be able to survive the storm that was on its way right towards them, Raven pressed a button on the radio when she was finished. “This is Raven Reyes, from Earth. We need help,” She spoke into the radio and waited, she made a silent prayer that the radio would work and that the Ark would hear her. “Aria!” Raven called with joy in her voice, “Get the radio to Clarke now” She pretty much pushed the radio into Aria’s hands when she made her way over to Raven, she had done it. She had actually fixed the radio and now they would be able to have contact with the Ark, they would know it was safe to come down to Earth.

Evie’s eyes slowly open but she doesn’t know where she is, part of her body is filled with pain and, yet some felt numb. Her mind can’t focus on anything, she can hear voices all around her. Her eyes find Finn first, “Finn…” Her mouth is dry and her voice is rough and barely there, her face is pale and her eyes filled with pain. But, she wasn’t alone. Finn was right there beside her, she knew Aria would be as well, but it hurt for Evie to move. “It hurts so much,” She whispered as she wanted the pain to disappear, she couldn’t take much more of it. Bellamy watches Evie from across the drop ship, he wouldn’t let the Grounder get away with hurting the most innocent person there. He climbed up the ladder to the top of the drop ship, as Clarke spoke to her mother about how to remove the dagger from Evie’s stomach.

Bellamy demands the Grounder tell him everything, but the Grounder didn’t open his mouth. Bellamy grabbed the bag that the Grounder had on him and flipped through the pages, the Grounders had been keeping an eye on the delinquents which didn’t surprise him. He still wasn’t happy about being spied on, then he found the drawing of his sister that the Grounder had done. “If Evie dies because of this, because of you. I’ll kill you myself,” He threatened the Grounder who still stayed silent, the wind outside the drop ship was growing stronger and Bellamy hoped it wouldn’t effect Clarke saving Evie’s life.

Aria could feel her concern growing and she found herself watching Evie with concern. There wasn’t anything she could do to help and she wasn’t used to that. Evie and Aria were always there for one another, always comforting and taking care of each other. It was second nature to her. And, right now, there wasn’t anything she could do to help save her sister, which put her on edge. All she could do was watch her sister suffer and she hated it. She was snapped out of her thoughts when she heard Raven call out and she rushed over, shock etching across her features but she nodded. “Thank you, Raven,” she whispered before rushing to Clarke, setting up the radio so Clarke could talk without having to use her hands.

Clarke tensed when she heard her mom’s voice on the radio, but she was quick to explain the situation, telling her that one of them was attacked. She didn’t say it was Evie, not just yet; he knew the twins’ father worked in the medical bay and she didn’t want to announce that and cause him panic. When she told her mom where the dagger was, her mom told her she had to be very exact in moving the dagger, otherwise it would cause whoever was hurt to bleed out. When Clarke asked how exact and her mom told her, she felt herself worry and she looked around to the others. “I’m going to need your help to hold her down,” she told Finn, Aria, and Raven. “If she moves while I’m taking it out, it could cause problems.”

Finn listened to Clarke’s mom explain things over the radio and he watched Evie, reaching for her hand to give it a gentle squeeze. “I know, I know it hurts,” he told her gently, his expression softening with concern as he watched her. “But you’ll be okay. We’ll get that dagger out of you and patch you up, then everything will be just fine.” Or, he hoped so, anyways. They just had to make sure that they got the dagger out properly. Otherwise, it could end with Evie dying and he didn’t think he’d be able to survive that. He doubted her sister would be able to survive it, either - or their friends. Evie had affected so many lives and she probably didn’t even know or realize it. Looking to Clarke, he nodded. “I’ll help hold her down.”

Aria watched for a moment before she moved over closer. “Evie,” she mentioned gently, “We’re going to have to hold you down, okay? And I know it will be scary and it will hurt, but it will only be for a little bit, and then everything will be okay.” She watched her sister, reaching for her other hand to give it a squeeze. “You’ll be okay.” She and Finn exchanged a look before they disinfected their hands and gently but firmly held Evie down while Clarke moved over. Finn watched Clarke with concern, eyeing her and hoping that the girl could do this. Ever since they’d arrived here, Evie had been doing most of the medical stuff to keep them alive. Finn wasn’t even sure if Clarke could handle this, but he hoped she could. Clarke took a deep breath before she focused on pulling the knife out, while the storm got worse outside, the wind slamming into the drop ship and shaking it.

Raven nodded her head as she moved over to the table, she disinfected her hands before she helped Finn and Aria hold Evie in place. She noted how concerned Finn was and she couldn’t help but think about the reason, and what he had been up to while he was on Earth. Obviously, he hadn’t expected Raven to come down in her own pod, certainly not as quickly as she had. Pushing those thoughts aside, she had to focus on helping Evie survive through being stabbed. She watched Clarke’s hand as she grabbed a hold of the handle, then without much warning the drop ship was hit hard by strong winds. It was enough for Raven to lose her balance and she stumbled to the floor, the wind howled outside the ship, but Raven managed to pull herself up. Her eyes didn’t find the dagger in Evie’s stomach anymore, so she grabbed a clean cloth and poured some moonshine onto it before pressing it against Evie’s wound to kill any germs.

“Okay…” Evie whispered weakly as she looked at her sister, she wanted to tell Aria that she loved her in case she didn’t make it. But, she knew that Aria already knew that, and it didn’t need to be said. Evie closed her eyes as she braced herself for the pain, she didn’t pay attention to the storm outside the drop ship but, instead listened to the thumping of her own heart beat as it helped her to block out any other noise. She felt the blade being pulled from her stomach and it caused her to cry out in pain, however, then she couldn’t feel anyone holding her down and panic set in. Moments later she groaned as the wound started to sting badly, opening her eyes she found Raven holding a damp cloth to her wound. The dagger was gone, Clarke had done it. “Aria…” Evie searched for her sister who wasn’t by her side anymore, apparently the storm was so bad that it had caused her twin sister to lose her footing. “You okay?” She asked when Aria came back into her view.

Bellamy climbed down the ladder to see if Evie and Aria were alright, he smiled when he saw Clarke holding the dagger in her hand. “You had us all worried, Ev. Let’s not do that again, otherwise you can start at camp all the time.” He looked down at her and gave her hand a gentle squeeze, he felt so much relief seeing that Evie was now awake and didn’t have a dagger stabbing her. He stood back to give Clarke space as she needed to stitch the wound, so it would heal easier and stop any risk of Evie getting an infection. Bellamy looked over at Aria, he still felt horrible for allowing Evie to get hurt. He shouldn’t have let her be in the search party, he never thought she would be the one who would get hurt though.

Evie gritted her teeth when Clarke stitched up the wound, she looked at Bellamy. “Let him go,” She knew Bellamy would have brought the Grounder back, she didn’t want them to start holding people hostage. “He’s been watching us, all of them have since we got here.” Bellamy looked at Evie, Aria and Finn. He glanced over at Clarke who climbed up the ladder, he moved closer to the table. “If they’ve planned to attack us, we can get it out of him.” Bellamy didn’t want to use violence, but the Grounder nearly killed Evie and that was something he couldn’t let go. “Evie…” Bellamy frowned when she went quiet, sweat started to coat her skin as her body went tense. Evie’s eyes fell shut as she didn’t feel good, her body felt hot to the touch as the poison from the dagger spread through her vulnerable body. “Clarke, Evie’s sick.” He yelled desperately for Clarke’s help, he had no idea how to help Evie and he hated it. He glanced over at the dagger that Clarke left on the table, “He’s poisoned her.” He grabbed the dagger and climbed back up the ladder, he grabbed the vials that he found in the Grounder’s bag. “Which one? Which one will save her?” He demanded only for the Grounder to remain silent.

Aria was relieved when she saw that Clarke had gotten the dagger out and she pushed herself to her feet, rushing to her sister’s side. Everything else around her seemed to blur out as she focused on the fact that her sister would be okay. Or, at least, that was what she’d thought until Bellamy mentioned that Evie was sick and that the Grounder had poisoned her. Panic welled up in Aria’s chest and she stared at her sister with concern, brushing her hair out of her face gently. “We’ll fix this,” she said firmly, knowing she had to believe that. “We’ll fix this like we fix everything.” She shifted, pressing a kiss to her sister’s forehead and looked to the others, her eyes pleading them to watch over Evie, before she rushed to the ladder and climbed up to the level the Grounder was on. “Is he talking?” she asked.

“No,” Octavia said honestly as she watched from where she was, chewing on her lip. “But, what do you expect? Jasper knocked him out and then they dragged him here and they’re holding him prisoner! Of course he’s not going to talk! He didn’t even do anything.” Aria looked over with a small frown. “He stabbed Evie with a poisoned blade,” she corrected. “Because he felt threatened and territorial,” Octavia quickly said. “By Evie?” Aria asked with a scowl, “Evie’s the least threatening person there is! There was no reason to attack her!” Quickly, she moved over to where Bellamy was, staring at the Grounder with narrowed eyes. “And, I’m not about to lose my sister, so he better talk or I’ll do whatever it takes to force it out of him.”
The moment the drop ship had stopped rocking, Finn had rushed back to Evie’s side, watching the others as they spoke and watched Aria and Bellamy as they left. Clarke had already finished up the stitches and Finn felt completely useless, because there was nothing he could to to help Evie. Watching her, his expression softened with concern and he ran his fingers through her hair gently. “You’ll be okay,” he assured her softly, though he wasn’t even sure if she could hear him or if she was awake. He wasn’t sure how bad the poison was and he feared the possibility of losing her. It was bad enough that he’d lost her trust and she’d wanted nothing to do with him lately, but if she died and he lost her completely, he’d never forgive himself, because he hadn’t been able to protect her.

“Bellamy and Aria will figure out how to save her,” Clarke mentioned as she came over with a damp cloth to wipe off Evie’s forehead gently. She knew Aria would do anything to save her sister, even if she didn’t know the twins all that well and they weren’t all that close. And, she knew Bellamy wouldn’t let Evie die, either. Evie was his friend and any idiot could see that Bellamy cared for Aria. Finn glanced to Clarke for a moment before he nodded slightly, hoping she was right, and he reached for Evie’s hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. “You hear that? They’ll find a way,” he told her gently, watching her as his expression softened with concern. “They won’t give up until they figure out how to cure that poison, alright? I know they won’t. I know you’ll be okay.”

Bellamy knew that the twins would go to great lengths for each other, to protect the other and make sure they were safe. He didn’t want Aria near the Grounder, he didn’t want her to see what he could do if the Grounder didn’t tell them which vial would save Evie’s life. He knew that Evie wouldn’t want them to be forceful, that was clear when Evie told him to let the Grounder go only minutes before the poison started to spread through her body. “You shouldn’t stay, Aria. I’ll make him talk, you don’t have to be up here.” He looked to where she stood beside him, he tried to hide the fear he was feeling because what if he couldn’t make the Grounder talk? Evie would die, just the thought of losing her caused his heart to ache. She was a friend and he also knew that Aria wouldn’t be the same, it would be another thing he would blame himself for. He sighed when Aria didn’t make a move to leave, “I hate how stubborn you are.” He grumbled as they didn’t have time to waste.

“Which vial will save her life?” Bellamy asked the Grounder who simply just stared at the floor, Bellamy balled his hand into a fist and started throwing punches. “Tell me.” He yelled as panic set in, he had to make the Grounder talk and so far, nothing has worked. He punched the Grounder until his own fists bruised and started to bleed, looking around the drop ship he found a metal spike on the floor and picked it up. “Tell me, because I won’t stop. You’re killing the most innocent person here,” Bellamy growled before he pushed the spike through the Grounder’s hand, it caused the Grounder to hiss in pain, but he still didn’t speak. He couldn’t even try the vials on Evie, as he didn’t know what each one contained, and he wouldn’t risk Evie’s life like that.
Evie opened her eyes and looked at Finn, her entwined her fingers with his. “Don’t leave me,” She whispered as she didn’t want to be alone, she was terrified. “I’m so scared,” A few tears rolled down the sides of her face, she was doing her best to hold on because she knew Aria wouldn’t be able to bare Earth if she died. Evie wouldn’t either if Aria was in this position, they needed each other to simply function. “I was falling for you, I still am… but I know you’ll be happier with Raven, even if I survive this.” Evie couldn’t speak very loud, and she wasn’t concerned if Raven over heard them. “I’ll always hate what you did, but I forgive you, Finn.” She looked at him, she wanted him to know that she did forgive him. So, if she did die, he would know that she wasn’t angry with him anymore. “If I don’t make it, promise me that you’ll protect Aria. She’ll be fine in time,” Evie knew she had to think positive, but it was too hard to when her skin felt like it was burning.

Clarke watched Evie before she rushed over to the ladder and climbed up to the top level, “Whatever you two are doing. Hurry up… she’s dying.” Clarke looked at Aria and Bellamy, they needed to get her the correct vial that second. So, Evie had a chance to survive the poison in her body. “Do whatever you have to, I don’t think she has much longer.” She glanced over to where Octavia and frowned, “This is why we don’t sneak away from camp. Evie was only out there because she was looking for you,” Clarke spat before she climbed back down, and kept a close eye on Evie.
