secretly they're saviors.

"So, what're we thinking? Woman in white? Sirens? Possession maybe?" Katherine asked from the backseat of the Impala. It was sort of the closest thing to home that she had being that it was pretty much motel room after motel room. Not that she'd really known anything else in her life. She'd always been on the road with her dad, though he did work quite a few cases with John Winchester back in the day, and she could recall quite a few nights spent watching crummy TV with Sam while Dean babysat them. That was years ago though, obviously. She'd been hunting with Sam and Dean for a few years now. It honestly wasn't that bad, though getting stuck in the middle of a spat with those two was never fun. She felt like the voice of reason between the two brothers sometimes, though things had honestly almost always been that way.

Spencer played with the marker in his hand while sat at the round table with the team, Garcia was telling them about their latest case. This one seemed a little different than most of them, of course that just meant that the unsub was stranger than usual. Which wasn't really something that put him at ease, but this was his job and he'd kind of gotten used to it honestly. The good thing that did come from this was of course saving people's lives and making sure that the people doing these awful things couldn't do them anymore or to anyone else. Which was what helped ease the mind. "So do we think this could be cult related? Or are we thinking more than one unsub? There just seemed to be more than one signature going on according to the pictures." He said looking through them again.

[Did we really? ]

"It's too early to know for sure, but it definitely seems like our kind of thing." Dean answered. Katherine nodded. Dean was right, it definitely seemed like their kind of thing and, when it seemed like it was, nine times out of ten it really was. There had been a string of murders over the course of the last couple of months in a town in southern New Jersey. All of the victims had been young men, and all of the murders had been strikingly similar. Sam had seen a story on the most recent one in the paper the other day, they'd just finished a rather annoying case involving a poltergeist, the son of a bitch had certainly put up one hell of a fight, so this was their next stop. She and Dean were headed to the crime scene where the most recent victim had been found, and Sam was going to go talk to a few of the previous victims' family members to see if they'd noticed anything unusual prior to their loved one's murders.

"Well either way the Jersey PD could really use our help because they're totally lost." Hotcher said looking around the table at the team. "And we're going, so wheels up in thirty." Which wasn't really shocking to Reid at all, clearly whatever was going on in this little New Jersey town it was definitely something that needed to be handled. Reid couldn't really say that it was something they'd seen before, but well there was always some sicko out there doing something new to keep everyone on their toes. "Well it looks like we're going to New Jersey. You know I've never actually be to New Jersey before but did you know it has the highest population density in the U.S. An average 1,030 people per sq. mi., which is 13 times the national average."

"It almost always is." Katherine pointed out. After dropping Sam off at one of the previous victims' homes, she and Dean headed over to the current crime scene. Sam was normally fairly sympathetic, and she and Dean always claimed that he was better at talking to the families than they were. Climbing out of the Impala, she and Dean approached the house, though they were stopped fairly quickly by one of the officers. "Can I help you two?" He asked. "I'm Agent Romanov, and this is my partner Agent Banner." She replied. "You two from the BAU?" The question almost caught Katherine off guard, and she was sure that it was the same for Dean as well, though it wasn't the first time that they'd been asked questions after flashing their badges. "No, my partner and I worked a case similar to this one a couple of years back. We were in the area, and figured we'd do what we could to help." Dean said.

Spencer was at the latest crime scene with JJ going over everything again. "This unsub just seems all over the place. It feels unorganized." He said just knowing that this was going to be a difficult case to figure out. He was about to move onto the next thing to look at before he noticed one of the cops talking to a guy and a girl who didn't look at all familiar. "Have you see those people?" He asked leaning over to JJ a bit and motioning towards them. Because well he didn't remember seeing them, and he was sure if he had seen them recently he would remember them. He also didn't remember the local police saying anything about inviting in the New Jersey FBI. Then again he supposed that was a possibility. It was obvious after all that this case would be a little crazy and they could probably use all the help they could get honestly.

The cop seemed to be pretty convinced. It was sort of funny how they were never really questioned too much. Katherine supposed that their badges and other fake IDs were pretty legit, but she still sometimes wondered if they were really even that convincing. "If we could just have a look around..." She started. The cop nodded. "Yeah, of course. Right this way." He led her and Dean inside, neither of the two hunters aware that actual feds were about to show up. Dean went over to get a look at the body while she went to have a look around elsewhere to see what she could find. The cop had walked back out to talk to the members of the BAU who had just shown up at the scene, though neither Katherine nor Dean knew that that was the actual reason. "I think I know what we're dealing with." She said, having located a hex bag hidden in the kitchen. She tossed it over to Dean, who made a face of disgust when he realized what it was. "Freaking witches..." He mumbled.

JJ looked over to Reid and he could tell by the look she was giving him that she didn't know who the two who'd just been let onto the crime scene were either. "I guess that's something else we'll need to figure out then." He said pretty sure Garcia would be able to dig up something on these guys, she was after all the best of the best when it came to stuff like that. "I'll go talk to the cop who let them by if you want to go talk to them." He told her not sure what the hell was going on in this town but there was something for sure. After all they had whoever was killing people to look for, and apparently just anyone could walk onto the crime scene and possibly contaminate it. "Um excuse me officer but those two people you just let into the crime scene. Did you happen to get names or badge numbers or anything?" He asked figuring he might as well start there, and well he wasn't going to be subtle about it.

"I hate witches." Dean said. "They're just creepy---always spewing their bodily fluids everywhere. It's unsanitary. And then the rabbits always get screwed in the deal. What did they ever do?" Katherine let out a laugh. In all the years she'd known the two Winchester brothers, Dean's distaste for witches had been fairly evident. Not that she really blamed him. She wasn't really all that fond of witches either. "And I thought that they were your favorite kind of people." She joked. "Well, if anything we know that someone has definitely had it out for all of these men. The question is who, and what did these guys do to piss them off so much?" That was the thing with witches. They were human too, they just happened to be humans who dabbled with the wrong stuff. The person, or group of people behind this, could be anyone in this town. Moments later, a blonde woman walked into the house. It didn't take rocket science to figure out that she was a fed. It looked like this case was going to take longer than planned.

A few moments later Spencer had gotten the information he needed from the officer and talked to Garcia, then headed to the crime scene to meet up with JJ. "Apparently they flashed badges and I asked Garcia to run the names they gave and they're not legit." He whispered to her pretty sure she hadn't said anything to them yet. Honestly this kind of made the whole ordeal stranger. Why were there people pretending to be Federal agents when they weren't, how'd they get the equipment to make badges that looked real enough, and well Spencer got the feeling this wasn't the first time they'd used those badges which made him wonder how many times they'd done this in the past. Even if they weren't actually tied to this investigation, though he had a feeling they were, it'd probably be a good idea to take them and question them. JJ sent him a look and he knew she was thinking the same thing. Looks like they'd just acquired their first suspects.

"Dean, I think we have company." Katherine murmured softly to the eldest Winchester. Of course, this wasn't the first time that something like the police or the feds had gotten in the way of them working on a case, she and both brothers had the "criminal records" to prove it, but she'd really been hoping to avoid this sort of a situation at all costs. It seemed extremely unlikely though, and something told her that they were about to be brought in for questioning or something. Dean would probably try to sweet-talk his way out of it just like he always did, and that normally only made matters worse.

Spencer honestly couldn't say he'd ever had something like this happen while he'd been part of the BAU. Not that it was a normal occurrence for people to have fake badges made so they could get onto a crime scene and well by the looks of it look around and check it out like they were solving the case themselves. Which made him want to question these two even more. So he was quick to follow JJ's lead. "So I don't know who you two are, but this a federal investigation and we're going to have to bring you in for questioning." She told them, "I'll take them back to the station if you wanna stay here and go over everything." Spencer told her knowing she'd be okay here by herself for a bit. Plus there were so many other cops here she'd have plenty of back up if she needed.

It honestly didn't really come as much of a surprise to Katherine. It wasn't like it was the first time that she and one or both of the Winchester boys ended up down at the station, and not when they were posing as feds. "If you insist." If there was one thing that Katherine had learned, it was that going along quietly seemed to be for the best. Of course, sometimes the accusations were absolutely insane and she couldn't bear to bite her tongue any longer, but usually she tried to just do and say the right thing. Of course, Dean usually had a tendency of saying the wrong thing or attempting to flirt at the wrong time, and that never really went over too well. Thankfully, before he could actually say anything that would have been facepalm worthy in Katherine's eyes, one of the feds, the blonde women's, phone started ringing. "Garcia, slow down. Alright...now breath....okay, now repeat what you just said and more slowly this time..."

[Garcia totally ran their faces through facial recognition and their actual names totally came up and she's totally freaking out over the phone to JJ right now in case you didn't know what the call was about ]

Spencer looked over at JJ while she talked to Garcia, then looked back to the two across the room from him. "Did Garcia figure something out?" He asked figuring he should ask while he was still there, and they had both agreed to go down to the station with him so they could just wait around in here with them until him or JJ was ready to leave. But if Garcia had found something and he knew what she'd found then he might've been able to make sense of it. And he was curious as to what she'd found. It was probably something bad, or something that freaked her out if JJ was telling her to calm down. Given she usually had to be told to calm down in both those situations.

"Don't try charming your way out of this one." Katherine mumbled under her breath, though she knew that Dean would hear her. She knew him all too well, and she recognized the look on his face when he was eyeing up the blonde earlier. She really wasn't in the mood to piss off a couple of feds right now. And it would certainly deter them finishing this case. She wondered what the two across the room were talking about. The blonde had just gotten off the phone, seemingly with new information, and she was probably telling the other whatever that information was. "What do you think they're talking about?" She asked Dean quietly, causing him to shrug his shoulders. "Beats me."

"So Garcia thinks that these people are characters from a book?" Spencer asked not sure he understood how that was possible, and he understood a lot of things. He really didn't know how it was possible that people could be characters from a fictional piece of work. Especially one dealing with the supernatural. Spencer was all for science sure, but he didn't know how he felt about the supernatural. That was kind of a little bit much for him. Though when had Garcia really been wrong before. What he couldn't figure out though was how she could be right about this. "That's what she's saying Spence, but well we both know how far-fetched it sounds. I think we should just take them back to the station and question them. Or at least keep them detained until Garcia can find anything else out about them. Hopefully something that makes sense too." JJ said looking over to the pair. And Spencer thought she was right. "Well I guess this case just got a lot more interesting then." He said pretty sure dealing with well 'supernatural hunters' or whatever Garcia called them would be a first for the whole team.

"Whoever the blonde was talking with on the phone obviously said something that surprised her, and I have a feeling that it has something to do with us." Katherine said quietly to Dean. She wondered what could have been said about them that would come as that much of a surprise to either of the FBI agents. Yes, with the line of work that she and Dean were in, they were bound to have criminal records and she knew for a fact that they both did. Most hunters did though, mainly because of certain unexplained supernatural-related events, but that was besides the point. That couldn't have been the surprising thing. It had to be something else. What, Katherine had absolutely no idea.

Spencer really wasn't sure how this case had gotten so weird within such a short period of time, but it had. And it seemed that not only were they going to have to figure out who the unsub was but apparently they were going to have to figure out who these people were as well. Which hopefully with Garcia's help they'd figure out something. And he did mean something aside from them being apparent book characters. "So we're going to take you both back to the station for some questioning, and hopefully get to the bottom of everything." He said to the pair they had in the corner. He really wasn't sure how it was going to work out, but he supposed they'd find out.
