Ashton walked inside his home after basketball practice, tossing his bag on the couch and making his way into the kitchen. He grabbed a water from the fridge and twisted the cap off, downing nearly half of it and sighing contently. He was a bit dehydrated, so the water felt good sliding down his dry throat. He took a minute to catch his breathing before he walked upstairs, hearing Mariska in her room, singing along to the radio. He smiled to himself before he pushed open her door and looked in. "I hope your homework involves singing," he said. "If Mom and Dad find out you haven't done your homework yet when they get home, you know what's going to happen." Their parents were entirely too strict on them. They were both big shots, had gone to some of the best colleges, and wanted the two of them to follow in their footsteps. So getting straight A's was a huge priority in their household.

Liliana smiled as she watched her two-year-old neighbor crawl around the floor with his little toy truck, making noises as he moved it. She had been babysitting Thomas for the past week now to make some extra money on the side in case she ever needed it. She had her funds growing so she'd be able to afford her own apartment when she moved out of her home, and so far, she only had enough for barely one month of rent in the cheapest apartment she could find. And that didn't include the deposit or anything either. So she was working hard to make more money. But it wasn't such a bad thing, because she loved children, and Thomas was such a little sweetheart.

Mariska laughed, "I may have gotten some of it done." she said. She turned her music off, "When are they coming home anyway?" She asked as she sat on her bed. She crossed her arms and smiled. Mariska really wished that her parents wouldn't come home but she knew they would. "So how was practice?" She asked as she ran her fingers through her hair. She loved her brother, but she hated how he was constantly trying to keep her up to par.

Bryce sighed as he walked into his house and threw his gym bag down. He was always going to the gym. He loved spending time there, mostly because it worked out his anger. Bryce walked to the bathroom and stripped down then got into the shower. He sighed as he relaxed under the hot water.

Mariska laughed, "I may have gotten some of it done." she said. She turned her music off, "When are they coming home anyway?" She asked as she sat on her bed. She crossed her arms and smiled. Ashton shrugged. "They'll probably be home after dinner. You know they like to be anywhere but home, dealing with us." He walked over and sat on the edge of her bed, looking up at her and smiling slightly. "It was good. Nothing out of the ordinary." He laid back on her bed, sighing softly and closing his eyes. "Why is your bed so much more comfortable than mine? This is ridiculous."

Liliana sighed softly when she heard Bryce come inside, looking down. She hated that he rarely ever spoke to her anymore. They used to be so close when they were little, but now he seemed so distant all the time and it was really upsetting. She looked down at Thomas and smiled as she watched him play with his toys.

Mariska smiled as he laid back on the bed, "Because our parents love me way more." She teased, laughing softly. She laid down next to him and relaxed. Mariska looked at her phone when she got a text message. She had her friend trying to convince her to go to a party. She was gonna sneak out after everyone went to bed. Mariska put her phone down and looked at him.

Bryce got dressed after getting a shower and sighed as he pulled on his leather jacket. He was gonna go out with his friends tonight. Lately he had been hanging out with the wrong people, but their parents werent too concerned with him. They were more focused on Liliana. He walked into the kitchen and looked for something to eat.

Ashton raised an eyebrow at her. "Who was that?" he asked, rolling onto his side and looking at her. "Is that a boy?" He smirked and reached over, snatching her phone and unlocking it. Something she didn't know about him was that he knew all her passwords. She was just so easy to figure out, especially since she was his sister and they were so close. He read the text messages and frowned. "You're going to sneak out? And you didn't even invite me?"

Liliana made sure Thomas was occupied before she went into the kitchen, watching her brother. "Bryce," she murmured. "Where are you going?" She slid up on the counter next to the fridge and watched him. "You've been really distant lately, you know? I think you should stay home and spend some time with us. You would love Thomas. He's really adorable."

Mariska shrugged, "I didn't think you would want to go." She said softly. She took her phone back. "Plus someone would have to cover for me." She said smiling. She sighed as she sat up and looked down at him. "So Im going to wait Til mom goes to bed." She said laughing.

Bryce looked at her, "I'm going out with my friends." He said. He shook his head, "I'm not really in the mood to deal with our parents tonight." He said as he began to eat hai sandwhich.

"Well you can't just leave me here all by my lonesome," Ashton said with a slight pout. "Maybe we could tell them we're going to a friend's house to study or something. If it involved school, then they'd definitely agree. I want to go with you. There might be some hot girls there, you never know." He smirked up at her and wiggled his eyebrows playfully.

Liliana frowned. "I know they've been rough on you lately, but they're still your mom and dad," she murmured. "And they love you so much. I miss having you around. You're always out somewhere and you're rarely at home. I miss my brother."

Mariska thought about it, "Alright you can come with me. Just dont be hanging over me." She said. She knew that Ashton could get protective. When he got like that there was no calming him down. MAriska stood up, "So whos friends house are we going to?" She asked. She wanted to make sure that the lie went well.

Bryce looked at her, "I highly doubt that they love me." HE muttered. He moved so he was standing in front of her. He looked down at her, "You miss me huh?" He asked. "Then come with me." He said with a smirk. He pulled a cigarette out of his pocket and put it between his lips.

Ashton thought for a minute. "Maybe we could say Shane's," he said. "He has a little sister too so it would make more sense. And they wouldn't think you were going to be staying in a boy's room either. Perfect excuse. And I could call him and tell him what's going on too, so if they called or anything, Shane could vouch for us."

Liliana raised an eyebrow at him. "But, uh, I'm babysitting," she mumbled. "And your friends are kind of scary. I don't really like them." She rubbed the back of her neck, sighing softly. She really wished he'd just stay home with her and they could hang out and watch movies or something. She was really scared of his friends.

Mariska nodded, "Alright sounds like a good idea." She said as she went to her closet and looked for something to wear. She was so happy to get out of the house. She pulled out her clothes then put them so that they weren't visible.

Bryce shrugged, "I guess you can't go then." He said. "And there is nothing wrong with my friends." He said. "You just have to quit living in this little bubble mommy and daddy setup for you." He said.

Ashton stood up and sighed softly. "If you have to pee or anything, go now," he said. "I need a shower." He walked into his room and tugged his shirt off, tossing it on his bed before he searched his closet for a nice outfit to wear. He wanted to look good for this party, thinking maybe he might meet a girl.

Liliana frowned and shook her head. "I'm not in a bubble," she said. "What does that even mean? I can do anything I want, I control my own life." She huffed, feeling like she had to prove herself now that he'd said that. She walked into the living room and picked Thomas up, carrying him across the street and asking her neighbor if he could watch him because her brother was sick.

Mariska nodded then heard her mom and dad come home. AFter she ate dinner she went to her room and got ready for the party. When she walked out she grabbed her bag so it looked like she was going to study.

Bryce walked outside and lit his cigarette. He exhaled the smoke and sighed. He knew Liliana would want to go with him now that he said that. He knew how to make liliana do stuff. She was so easy to manipulate sometimes. Bryce smirked when he heard her come back to the house. He opened the patio do slightly, "So you going?" he asked.

Ashton showered and decided to skip dinner since he knew he'd probably be drinking and he needed to watch his calorie count. He couldn't intake too many calories. He was at a solid weight right now and although basketball wasn't as strict on weight as football was, he knew gaining any wouldn't be good for his performance.

Liliana looked up at him. "Of course I'm going," she said, walking past him inside and grabbing her jacket. She grabbed her phone and slid it into her back pocket before she grabbed her purse. "Well, let's go then."

Mariska smiled as she met Ashton at the car. When they got to the party she walked with him. "Don't hover." She reminded him as she went inside. Mariska walked inside and hugged her friend. She went with her and got something to drink.

Bryce smirked as he walked with her. He drove to the house and walked inside. The music was loud and people were already drunk. Bryce smiled as his friends greated him. He got himself a beer then stood with his friends.

Ashton rolled his eyes and grabbed a drink before he began to wander around, looking for someone to talk to. As long as his sister wasn't getting into any trouble and no guys were harassing her, he wouldn't have a reason to follow her around.

Liliana looked around awkwardly, biting her lip. This definitely wasn't her scene, and she was feeling nervous already. She walked over and stood next to her brother, instantly attaching to his hip.

Mariska sighed as she ran her hair as she talked to her friends. She laughed with them and then she smiled as she talked to the one guy that liked her. he wasn't so bad.

Bryce took a swig of his beer when he felt Liliana stand next to him. "You want a beer or something?" He asked her. He figured that she needed to relax. He lit another cigarette as their friends talked.

Ashton sighed softly, not really finding anyone very interesting here. He just continued to drink his beer and wander around for a bit, until he found himself weaving his way through the crowd to stand next to his sister. He leaned down so his mouth was next to her ear. "This party's lame," he said.

Liliana bit her lip gently. She'd never tried alcohol before, but she figured there was a first for everything. And besides, she wanted to show her brother that she could be just as tough as he was. She took the beer he had in his hand and took a swig, making a face and gagging a little.

Mariska looked at him, "No youre lame.." she teased. She looked up at him as she took a swig of his drink. She was slightly drunk already. So maybe it was a good thing that she took AShton.

Bryce laughed at her reaction, "So no beer?" He asked. He smiled as he put his arms around her shoulders. "Don't worry you will adapt to it." he said. He held her close as they drank and talked with his friends.
