"Duty calls" Jack says to his fellow colleagues in the teachers lounge, offering them a smile. He pulls out his seat and gets his stuff together. "But we have to finish our talk on Chaucer, perhaps over a gin and tonic this weekend?" he said to his friend and fellow English teacher, Dave. "Of course, give me a call" Dave responds, to which Jack nods and exits the room. He was about to teach his first class of the semester, and was honestly still in summer mode, and not looking forward to it. In about ten minutes he had walked over to the North Campus into the building his class was in, taking in one final breath he opened the door and walked into a room filled with awaiting students. "Hello class, I'm your teacher Professor Harmon, but feel free and call me Jack," he said with a smile, turning to face the class. His breath halted when he saw one particular student. He had seen her around campus, and had been fascinated by her for quite a while. She had longish black hair and hazel green eyes, she was breathtaking. He continued quickly, hoping no one had noticed his pause. "So, I like to start by going around the room and having you tell me your name, year, major, and why you are taking this class. I'm sure it's because you have heard how charming I am," he joked with a grin. "How about we start with you," he points to the girl he had noticed previously, and looks at his attendance sheet so he doesn't seem too interested.
Riley was dreading her algebra class. "Can someone please explain to me, why math is a pre-requisite for an English major?" she asked her friends, who surrounded her. "Because everyone knows this colleges job is to torture its students," replied her friend Kim, running a strand of straight blonde hair around her finger. "Oh, right, forgot about that," Riley chuckles. She nudges Kim gently in the shoulder, "Okay, my stop, wish me luck that at least I get a hot teacher," she says, crossing her fingers enthusiastically. "Not at this school!" her friend Lexy yells after her, causing Riley to walk into the room with a smile. She takes the last remaining seat, right at the front of the class, much to her dismay. However, when the professor walks in she perks right up. It looks like she found the only remaining hot teacher at the school. Seriously, he was a total hottie. She just knew she would need extra help desperately. As he began speaking, she chuckled, he was a funny guy. When the roll call got to her, she sat up straighter in her seat. "Hi, I'm Riley Mitchell," she began. "I'm from a small town in western Mass, and I guess one thing I'd like you to know is that I completely suck at math," she said cheerfully, feeling rather bold.
