Beautiful Disaster

Sabrina groaned in frustration as she hovered over her Math textbook. She had been trying to get through the same few problems for the better part of her morning free period. However, she just couldn't seem to get the hang of it and every time she thought she got it right it was wrong. It was frustrating to say the least and it was only a few problems. Sabrina knew she was going to fail her Math test at the end of the week, which would probably get her grounded due to her already failing class grade. With another groan, she ripped the paper out of her notebook and crumpled it up and started again.

Michael reluctantly made his way towards the front doors of the high school to visit his brother -- the history teacher for the senior class. He was slightly disappointed that his brother decided to teach high school instead of college because it made visiting him that much harder. Michael signed into the front office and slapped the bright pink visitor pass onto the corner of his jacket. Although, it did cross his mind to slap it on his ass or something but he refrained from doing so. He made his way up the steps and towards the third floor where his brothers classroom sat at the end of the hall. He didn't have a class, his brother, but he did have one in a few minutes. Michael could have came earlier but he didn't want to have to spend any unnecessary time in a high school with his brother chatting about this and that.

Joshua looked up as he heard Sabrina groan again and he couldn't help but chuckle. He looked over at her before getting up and moving over to her. "You having trouble?" He asked in a slightly playful voice taking the crumpled and opening up unable to help but laugh. "That is wrong. Really very wrong." He said with another laugh. "Do you need some help with this?" He asked cringing a little at how bad she had gotten the answers messed up.

Levy was waiting in the library during her free period just reading. It's not like she needed to do homework it was all done for the week she was basically ready to graduate or almost just a 2 more credits and one of them was history. She checked the time before getting her things together and pulling her shirt down hating that it liked to ride up showing of her stomach not that she was ashamed she just didn't feel like it was something for everyone to see. She rolled her eyes as she heard the whispers in the halls from all the girls talking about some hot older guy they'd never see and all the things they imagined they would do to him. Levy tuned them all out as usual as she headed down the hallway to Mr. Callaghan's classroom though Cassy tried to accidentally bump into a guy Levy was passing
but ended up knocking Levy into him and making her fall on top of him. "Geeze Levy watch where you're going. You're going to crush him. I'm sorry about her." Cassy said leaning down trying to give him a flash of her breast. Levy rolled her eyes as she got off of the guy. "Don't apologize for me." She stated plainly before looking at the guy. "I'm sorry not for her shoving me into you because she's a crazy erratic bitch and you never know what she's going to do but I'm sorry that you kind of smell like my perfume now." She added before offering an apologetic smile and walking the short way to the classroom smiling at her teacher as she set her things next to her usual desk.

Sabrina snatched the paper out of Joshua's hands and crumpled it back up again. "Obviously!" She huffed before slumping back into her seat and running her hand through her hair and trying not to pull it all out in frustration. Although when he offered to help her she perked up a little bit, "Could you?" Joshua was always so much better at Math than her even though he barely tried. One would think that she would be the smart one and usually she was but just not in Math; she could never throw herself into it or get the hang out of it. "I just-I have this test in a few days and I know I'm going to fail it unless I get the hang of this." She sighed.

Michael ran a hand through his hair as he made his way up the stairs and the bell rung overhead. A groan fell from his lips as students started to pile into the hallways. He should've come at least a little earlier because now he would have to sit through his brother's entire class. Michael wasn't about to just leave considering he didn't want to come back here for at least a week, maybe a month. As he was walking he felt a body crash into him and actually managed to lose his balance and fell to the floor, taking the poor soul along with him. "S'alright," He said with a light chuckle as he helped her off of him, his hands at her waist, before easing himself to his feet. He righted himself, tugging on his jacket and pushing his hair back into it's place.

"It wouldn't be the first time, love," Michael replied with a cheeky wink towards the girl who's friend obviously pushed into him. He would admit that she was pretty cute although probably underage. Michael followed after her towards his brother's classroom, a smug little smile on his face as he walked into the classroom. He cast a brief glance over towards the girl, still smiling, before going to talk to his brother. He agreed to let him stay for the class period, something about him learning a thing or two.

Joshua laughed nodding at Sabrina. "Alright how about I tutor you for a change." He said with his charming smile as he moved a chair close to her. "It's not that hard if you know a few tricks. What do you have the most trouble with? We can start with that." He added as he looked over the questions in the book trying to decide what would be the easiest to start with. "But there is a matter of my payment. Carla has been following me around again. She's just so clingy and won't go away. No matter what I say she just keeps bugging me." And as if on cue his phone buzzed with a text. "If i can get you to pass the test will you make her go away?" He asked with a pleading look of desperation. In hindsight Carla was a bad idea she had this thing about fixing things and got the stupidest idea that she could change him but Joshua didn't believe he needed to be fixed. Sabrina was a pretty good friend of his and maybe she didn't quite approve of his ways but she didn't tell him he needed to change. He was in high school for God's sake it wasn't like he was trying to find a forever person not like that was a real thing anyways.

Levy smiled up at the guy that walked into the class. She looked from the guy to her teacher comparing the two in her mind. That must have been his younger brother he'd mentioned a couple of times. She got into her bag pulling out her history paper and the chapter review though she noticed a few people hurrying to finish their assignments and couldn't help but roll her eyes. "Hey Lev let me see your review." Mathew whispered as he leaned over. "No unlike you I actually work for my grade." Levy said as she flipped the papers over looking up at her teacher as the tried to ignore Matt who was being his usual obnoxious and annoying self.

Sabrina made a little face, "Well, um, the math." She responded, biting down on her lip. A groan fell from her lips when he mentioned payment, she should've known he wouldn't help her just to be a good friend. Plus, he always had some girl bothering him. "I don't know, Josh," Brina bit her lip. She wasn't the type of girl who pretended to date a guy just to get another girl off of his back. However, she was desperate to pass this Math exam.

Michael took a seat in his brother's chair when he got up but refrained from putting his feet up on his desk. His brother went to the front of the class and gave a brief introduction and told the class to ignore him. Then he told them to turn in their papers to the bin on his desk. Michael slouched back in his chair, his eyes roaming around the room and somewhat surveying the girls. There weren't many attractive girls, at least not in this class, but there were a few including the girl from the hallway. She was pretty, especially for a high school student.

"Please." Josh pleaded giving her his best puppy dog look. "Look at all of this it's borderline stalking." He said handing her the phone. The phone had about thirty unanswered messages and that was just from this morning. And he'd been clear on leaving him alone he'd said it a few times in the messages but finally just stopped replying and she still wouldn't stop. "I wouldn't be asking if I wasn't completely desperate and out of options." He admitted as he scooted closer giving her his big pleading blue eyes. He looked at her paper circling the part of it that she'd messed up it was just a simple mistake forgetting to carry over but it messed up the whole equation and gave a completely different answer.

Levy stood up taking her papers up front and placing her paper and assignment on his desk with a smile. She was a little nervous about her paper though it was a lot better than her previous papers she just always worried a little when she turned them in. Matt passed by her bumping her slightly and nearly knocking her on her ass and she just ignored it and continued to her seat. You'd think he was just pissed about the paper but it was more than that. He was upset about their breakup but she didn't understand why he cheated on her because she wouldn't put out, maybe she would have if he wasn't so pushy but it didn't end that way and she was perfectly fine with it. She noticed the few girls in the class couldn't stop staring at the guy Michael and she didn't understand why all the girls at the school were so boy crazy like they'd never seen a male before.

Sabrina rolled her eyes at him before taking the phone from his hands. There were a lot of messages from Carla. It was kind of creepy. Brina huffed out a breath in defeat, "Fine!" She was only going to do this so she could pass her math test and so that he could get Carla off of his back. It was a win-win situation and then they could just go back to being friends. It wasn't like there was any real feelings between them. "But only until she lays off and I pass my test and then I'm dumping you!" Sabrina stated with a cheeky little smile before handing back his phone and going back to her math problems. They only had a short time and Sabrina had to finish these problems before her last class of the day. She looked down at where Joshua made corrections and sighed before opening up her notebook to a new page and started the problem again.

Michael gave the girl a cheeky little smile and shamelessly leaned forward to read the name on her paper. Levy Bennett. He looked up just in time to catch some kid shove right into her and frowned, maybe even glared, at the kid as he walked up to turn in his paper. He seemed like one of those traditional tool-bags that you always see in cliche high-school movies. Glad to know the cliches are always true. Michael was a lot happier that he was finally out of high-school and in college because the people were a lot easier to stand and the classes were a lot better. Michael noticed the girls glancing at him continuously and gave a few of them innocent little smiles when his brother wasn't noticing. He gained a few giggles and a lot of blushing. He chuckled to himself before turning around in his chair kind of like a little kid.

Josh chuckled as he looked at Brina grinning. "Thank you." He said hugging her tightly. "Okay so what you are doing on this side is good but you have to do it on the other side too and continue to do it tell all the variables are all on one side doesn't matter which that won't affect the answer at all. You'll end up with the same answer either way you go. But there are less variables on this side so I would get rid of those which transfers it to this side." He said pointing at the paper. "Do you think you can try? Or do you want me to show you first?" He questioned moving to look at her.

Levy chuckled as she caught glimpses of Micheal spinning around. She did have to admit he was attractive but she wasn't going to try and get his attention like all the other girls. She could just see it all go horribly wrong and fast and she didn’t really have much time for things. She wanted to be done with high school and away from most of the people. It wouldn't be long though she'd already skipped a year and with summer class managed to get all the credits she needed in a little less than three years and she was so very close. She started draw on the blank paper in front of her watching her pencil dance across the page her eyes peeking up a few times to watch Michael.

Sabrina made a little noise. "I think I can try it myself first, thanks." She picked up her pencil and scribbled down the equation again and trying to figure it out. With Josh's directions she actually managed to figure it out and get the answer right. She squealed slightly with joy, however there was still five more problems and only five more minutes left before the bell rung. "One down, five more to go." This was just her homework, too, but her teacher graded on accuracy, which sucked. She could probably try to do them at lunch considering Math was her last class of the day, thankfully. Brina would probably be in a sour mood for the whole day if she had it at the beginning of the day. "Thanks." Sabrina said and threw her shoulder lightly into Josh's. Even though he was making her pay him back in a ridiculous way she was still grateful he was helping her out in the first place. Hell, she was grateful he was good at math.

Michael didn't pay attention to anything for much of the class. He'd had sat through 12 years of history classes telling him the same stuff over and over again. It gets a little boring after a while. Plus, he couldn't take his brother seriously. So, Michael twirled in his chair and went through his brother's computer. He rudely snooped through their grades, including Levy's and that other kid. He wasn't really surprised to find the failing. However, Levy was pretty smart and had pretty much perfect marks. Michael peeked over the top of the computer at her but she was too busy doodling on her paper to notice. Maybe he should put intelligent girls on his to-do list considering he'd had his fair share of dumb girls and Levy was pretty enough to give them all a run for their money.

"Anything for you Brina." Josh said as he hugged her tightly. Honestly he would have done it for free even if she turned him down but he wasn't going to shake the cage. He was going to have Carla out of his hair and then he'd be a little more careful about his future conquests. He would not come begging Brina for help a second time and for some reason even when he told girls he was done they seemed to think they could change him but he didn't need to be changed. Eventually when he got older he'd change but he wasn't ready to just yet.He smiled down at her answer as he found she got it correct. "See you've got just a little help and you'll ace that test on Friday." He said standing at the sound of the bell. "I'll walk you to your next class." He said standing up and taking her books from her flashing her that ever so charming smile of his that no girl except Brina could ignore. He'd known her longer than he'd been the schools unofficial playboy probably since about first grade they've been friends and he was thankful because not many other people could put up with him the way she did.

Levy looked up as soon as the bell rang thankful that she didn't have to deal with Matt anymore. She may have been taking this a lot better than he was but she really couldn't stand the look of his face anymore. She was happy this was her last class of the day and only for early release which she couldn't be happier about and it gave her enough time to head to work. She grabbed her stuff slipping it into the bag and was about to head out when Matt stood in front of her. "Can we talk?" He asked simply though he asked everyday and it was the same answer.
"There's nothing to talk about. I have to go to work." She stated before hopping over a couple chairs. "See you tomorrow Mr. Callaghan. And nice meeting you." She added to her teacher and his brother before slipping out of the room as quickly as she can trying to lose Matt. She left school hoping into her car and driving off to the cafe and slipping into the bathroom changing her from her jeans and T-shirt into her black skirt, red t-shirt, and her simple black heels before shoving her day clothes into her bag and leaving to go back to her car grabbing her name tag from the dash. This was her little safe haven away from all the drama of her life and Matt thankfully the owner of the Bluebird had told Matt never to come back after his scene so it was the one place he couldn't show his face around.

Sabrina wrinkled her nose in feigned annoyance at Josh. "I better!" If she did not get good marks on this test then her grade would lower. She was trying very hard to maintain at least a C and if it dropped below that then her father would ground her. Plus, Josh would get his end of their little agreement and Sabrina wouldn't get her end. Brina nodded as she gathered up her things into her bag and rolled her eyes when Josh took her books. "You're like my own little servant," Sabrina teased, pinching him in the side lightly before shouldering her bag and exited the library with Josh at her side. They always got a few little looks whenever they were together, mostly because they were too different people. Josh might have been smart but he was still popular and Brina didn't care about anything other than her studies. However, she ignored them considering that Josh was her oldest friends and she was lucky he still stuck around her. "Do you think that you could help me out at lunch to finish these few problems?" Brina asked as they walked.

Michael pushed himself away from his brother's computer when the bell rung as if he wasn't just snooping on all of his brother's students. He smiled at the girl as she walked out the class, "Nice meeting you too, Levy," Michael called after her with a little grin on his face before turning back to his brother who gave him a glare. "What?" Michael asked innocently, shrugging his shoulder's as if he truly didn't know what he had done wrong. His brother just continued glaring as the classroom emptied before they chatted about this and that. However, his next class started filing in and Michael wasn't about to sit through another history class so he bid his brother goodbye and exited the classroom and headed for his car. He checked his phone for the time and let out a small yawn. He had a class in about an hour and would probably fall asleep if he didn't get a cup of coffee or three. However, he didn't live around here and he wasn't about to drive all the way to his favorite coffee shop so he just pulled into the closest cafe parking lot and hoped to god they had proper coffee.

With another small yawn Michael ducked into the cafe before running his hand through his hair and looking for a place to sit. Michael took a spot at the counter considering he was only going to have a few cups of coffee and then duck out and go to his class.

"Not your servant Brina." Josh said with a sigh as he kissed her cheek. "Your boyfriend." He teased a grin playing on his lips as he watched her. She was pretty though but he'd always known that and maybe somewhere deep down in his mind he did want to sleep with her, okay maybe not so deep down but he couldn't lose the only hope he had at avoiding the psycho girls.

When the door opened and a customer walked in sitting at the counter Levy turned around a smile on her face as she greeted the familiar person. "Welcome to the Bluebird. What can I get for you?" She asked smiling at Micheal. It was always pretty slow until about four or five so this was a little downtime aside from the few regulars but it was it so it was nice to see a fresh face.

"Right". Brina was used to Josh's somewhat flirtatious character and that included occasional physical things like kisses on the cheek so it didn't bother her too much. However, she was sure she was going to end up forgetting it by tomorrow, although she was sure Josh would constantly remind her. It was only for a few days, not even a full week, unless Carla didn't back off by Friday and then she was in deeper waters. However, she was sure that Carla would eventually back off especially with Josh's new 'girlfriend' aka her. Brina just hoped it didn't get to the point where they would have to be more intimate than innocent kisses on the cheeks and things like that. She didn't know if she could handle that. Josh was sweet and all, at least to her he was, but she didn't know if she could be anything other than friends with him. Although she had thought about it once or twice.

Michael sat up a little straighter when he noticed Levy behind the counter and a smile overcame his face. "You stalking me, love?" Michael teased, although if anything it seemed more like he was stalking her. "Just a coffee, black." He said with a smile before fiddling with the little sugar packets on the counter next to him. It was pretty slow here so Michael could probably keep steady conversation with Levy without her having to go and bust tables or serve a customer constantly. "Do you have an open class or are you just done with classes for the day?" He questioned as she poured him a cup of coffee and he played with the sugar packets and keeping his eyes on her.

"Oh it's not so bad. I'm sure at least half the girls in school would love to be you right now." Josh teased reaching out to brush the hair from her face. "I'll see you at lunch beautiful." He said with a wink handing the books back to her before walking away a grin on his lips. This would be fun and it would be pretty funny to see the looks on girls faces but funner to see how Brina would take the attention on her.

Levy laughed at his comment a slight roll of her eyes. "Yes because you're all I think about." She teased back as she grabbed the coffee returning and pouring it for him. "I only have three classes two science and history so next term I just have to be there for one class a day and then I'm all done." She said with a grin. "I'm here now tell eight tonight." She added as she returned the coffee to it's place.

Brina made a small face because that was exactly what she wanted - for every girl to either be her or hate her. She was fine being off everyone's radar and just focusing on her studies. This was going to be worse than she thought. "See ya!" Brina called after him as she got a hold of the books and finished her walk to class and settled in. She hoped she would get at least one day before the riot started so she could get a handle on what she just signed herself up for. Luckily, it was AP Government and no one could actually chit chat without missing vital information for the test. Lunch came fast though and she was off to the lunch table to get her math work done and hopefully get something to eat. It was pretty much either or and math mattered more than a barely edible school lunch. Josh wasn't at the table yet though so she had to try and figure it out on her own, though she was fairing all right now that she knew what she was doing.

Michael chuckled and slid the little sugar packets back into their respective places. He let his cup of coffee sit so he didn't burn his mouth on it like he had done so many other times on his way to classes. "So, you're a smart one, then," He teased with a cheeky little smile. Michael had graduated early in his senior year of highschool. "Yeah, I've got a class in about twenty minutes." He was taking classes so that he could become a detective. He was going to have to become a beat-cop and rise through the ranks but it would help if he had a degree so they'd pick him to become a detective earlier.

Josh had dealt with his usual swarm of vultures in a different way admitting that his girlfriend wouldn't be thrilled but class went by a little faster as he grinned. Who knew all it would take was a fake girlfriend unfortunately when he went by his locker Carla had a grin on her face. "So we're official?" She asked as she tried to lean in to kiss him forcing him to back away. "What the fuck are you talking about?" He asked opening his locker and slamming it when his things were inside. "Well..." He couldn't help but smirk at her confusion. "You heard I was dating someone and thought it was you? Well I hate to disappoint you but I do have a new girl and she is not you." Josh said smugly before leaving for the cafeteria grinning at Brina already at the table waiting.

Levy smiled leaning on the counter. "Ya I guess you could say that." She said simply. I'm going to be graduated a year and a half early." She stated a little proud she'd be the hell out of here though she'd miss her best friends Trenton and Tyler they'd gotten her out of her home situation and she was thankful even if she felt a little bad for forcing the twins to share a room again but they didn't seem upset about. As if on cue her phone buzzed with a message about going out after work and she rolled her eyes slightly of course they wanted to go out. She texted a simple sure as her response before turning her attention back to Micheal.

Brina hummed to lightly to herself as she finished up the rest of the problems. She messed up only a few times but was pretty sure she had them all right by the time Josh arrived at the lunch table. "Hey, how was class?" Brina asked with a small smile, although she was pretty sure she knew what answer she was going to get from him. It never stopped her from asking though.

"That's pretty impressive," Michael commented with a nod and a sip of his coffee. "Got any idea what you want to do after highschool?" He asked in between sips. Most people either wanted to get out of school and or this town or had a pretty solid dream/future plan. Michael couldn't really tell for sure which one Levy was. Michael finished off his first cup of coffee. He pulled out his phone to check the time, and luckily he still had a good twenty minutes maximum to sit and flirt with pretty waitresses.

"Carla found me in the hall and the usual girls were waiting at my desk but I set them straight." Josh said with a wink as he kissed her cheek. "How are you doing with the problems?" He asked sitting beside her and wrapping an arm around her trying to make the people who were skeptical a little less suspicious. It wasn’t going to be as easy as he thought and that irritated him slightly.

Levy smiled filling his cup again. "Ya I've got a few options all with full academic scholarships but after that med school I'm aiming for Johns Hopkins or Harvard just for the med program. But that's not for four
years. I just want to get out of here as fast as I can." She admitted with a smile as she leaned on the counter. "Sorry about earlier Cass can be kind of a bitch and I was in the way of her trying to hit on you or attempting." She said with a slight laugh.
