Lucy sighed as she looked at the picture of her and boyfriend, a whole year and she didn't even know if he was alive or dead. All she knew was he never came home, and it was suddenly like her life was dull and empty. She tucked the picture away into the nightstand then rubbed her face getting ready for the day. If it hadn't been for Taelor she knew right now she'd be a mess, one she wouldn't be able to fix.
When Yixing had gone missing her entire world fell apart, she'd filed missing report after missing report. She'd visited hospitals, and jails but there was nothing. It had been like he'd fallen off the face of the Earth. She missed him more than words could ever express.
I sighed a little, seeing Lucy put the picture away. She had been missing him now more than ever because their anniversary was coming up. I had been up for a while, I had a bit to do before I went into work today.
"Hey, I made breakfast. Your favorite, the funfetti cake batter pancakes. So get up, they're still hot." I smiled, turning away from the door. "Wanna have lunch with me if you have the time?" I knew she'd been feeling lonely recently so I wanted to do something to cheer her up until she was out of it.
She looked at her smiling a little,"Thanks, and yeah sure. I don't work today so I'll wait for you at the usual restaurant?" she said to her as she walked into the kitchen to load her plate with food. Lucy licked over her lips then pushed a hand through her hair.
"I dont know what I'm going to do today, maybe I'll go.. out," she murmured, she hadn't checked the hospitals in a while.
"Alright, just try to have a good day. I want to stop by the coffee shop on the way to work, and I have to leave soon. But call me if you need anything, and if you decide to go to that bookstore, pick up that law book for me that I ordered please?" I said, putting on my earrings. "Ill see you at lunch."
She nodded,"alright, I'll see you then and I'll pick up that book for you," she smiled as she sat at the coffee table on the floor. After Yixing went missing, she was fortunate that Taelor had moved in with her.
I walked over and gave her a hug, before getting up to grab my bag and pull on my shoes. "Have a good day, alright?" I said, before heading out the door and towards the elevator. I had a good hour before I needed to be at work, and I sometimes went to the coffee shop right across the street from the offices. I went inside and ordered my favorite, a hot butterbeer drink and sat my the window, doing my best to enjoy the time I had before I needed to go.
She nodded a little as she smiled a little then laid her head back whining when all the food was gone.Jongdae walked into the coffee shop a bounce in his step as he went, he smelled something sweet then looked around then stopping when his eyes locked on a girl. She was the most beautiful creature he'd ever seen and he knew he'd found her.
I drank my drink and tried to beat the level of this game i'd been on forever. I didn't feel like reading because I'd definitely lose track of time that way. I looked up and saw someone looking at me but I didn't recognize them so I went back to my phone
He got his coffee then walked over and sat down with her,"My name is Jongdae and you're the most beautiful woman I've ever seen," he said with a small smile.
I nodded a little and smiled slightly, unsure of where this was going. It wasn't every day someone came up and called you beautiful, not unless they were kidding or looking for sex. "Well, thank you, Jongdae."
"Look, some of my friends and I are throwing a bar-b-que. you're more than welcome to come and hangout with us all, and if you have friends even better," he smiled a little,"I'd like to talk to you more but I have to go to work," he told her lightly.
I nodded a little, looking at the time. "I have to go too. But I'm not so sure, I mean, that's a little random... Isnt it?" I asked. "To just be invited to a barbecue?"
"I mean I don't know when I'll see you again," he admitted, "Now is as good a time as any right? Besides the barista knows me, I'm harmless," he grinned.
Jongdae smiled,"I'm harmless," he said laughing a little as he grabbed a napkin and wrote down the address. "Bring afriend or two if you want, at around five," he told her.
I sighed a little as he wrote it down looking at the time. I had ten minutes. "Alright, fine. I'll come." I said, packing up my things. I grabbed my drink and stood, taking the napkin. "It was nice meeting you Jongdae."
