  • "I'll have an espresso please," Elijah said to the waitress. He was supposed to be working on an assignment with his friend, but he had yet to arrive. Elijah twiddled his thumbs as he stared off into space.

    Rowan sighed as she entered the small apartment she shared with her boyfriend Darren. She had hoped he left for work already, but there he was on the couch with a beer in hand. "Where were you all day Rowan, you know I don't like you staying out late," he grumbled. "I know. I had to stay and talk to my professor about some things, I'm sorry," she mumbled, running a hand through her hair. "Sorry ain't gonna cut it." He snapped while stood up from the couch. Rowan already knew what he was preparing to do, it was the same routine day in and day out. Her lip quivered as she took off her jacket, bracing herself for the pain he was about to inflict on her body.

    [[sorry if it was a horrible start:/]]

  • @ Shepherd of Fire;
    [starting is always hard.]
    Calvin walked into the coffee shop supporting the weight of his overflowing back pack on one shoulder. He looked around the room to find Elijah. He smiled seeing his friend and shuffled to the table clumsily moving through the small spaces between tables. Calvin cursed as his hip bumped a table and he spilled some of the person's coffee. "Sorry." he said and finally made it to the table. "You always have to pick the table in the back." Calvin complained and dropped his bag on the table treating his friend with a friendly slap on the back before slumping into a chair. He sighed with relief waiting a moment before pulling out some notes and supplies. Calvin was an English major and was in his final year of school. He and Elijah had been friends for years, well before they had become college mates. Calvin had just gotten a new place on the outskirts of town next to the park. It was a peaceful little place and near were he wanted to work. "Alright shall we get started?" he asked and looked around a moment looking for someone to get him a triple shot of caffeine.
    Celeste ran a hand into her hair as she walked down the side of the street. It was to loud. She was just trying to get to work in a small book store next to the current most popular coffee shop. Sometimes her boss would send her over to the shop and get something for everyone. Usually her and the boss's niece maned the shop while he worked with innovatory in the back. Sometimes when it bot to busy though he would let her do the innovatory. She had been working there for almost two years now. He had been there for her through her roughest year. She didn't talk much about it and he never pushed the subject matter. He had taken her in for half a year until she was up on her feet in her new place just down the street. He had always taken care of her and that made him the closest things to family she had. Celeste was working for an hour before Clyde placed money in her hand. "Get what ever you want too." he said knowing she knew their usual. Celeste frowned. She hated going into the crowded shop for a coffee run. She made her way into the store and stopped in the front going pale. She swallowed and started to shake. Ever since the incident she didn't like crowds. You never knew what kind of people were in a crowd. Celeste started to make her way toward the counter but then turned and ran back out into the sidewalk. She stood there by the wall hyperventilating. She bent over her head hanging between her knees. Celeste waited there for a few minutes as her heart stopped pounding and she stood again determined to not go back empty handed again. Celeste walked into the shop again and made her way to the front counter again her entire body trembling.
