Lila walked up the hill to the lookout. "Hey look the gift shop is still open." she smiled and walked with him around to the balcony. She stood there and leaned into Mikkie looking up at the night sky. "I have always loved looking at the stars." she smiled softly.

Mikkie grinned and nodded, "I know, its so beautiful up here," he said softly. He pulled her close, "I remember when you first brought me up here, when I was struggling heaps and nothing seemed to calm me down," he said gently.

"I remember I had to drag you into my car and drive you out here. I wanted to give you something to think about, something to focus on in your darkest moments and to realize there are always stars in the dark." Lila looked up and him. "You have been my star longer than I could see that."

Mikkie smiled softly and kissed her cheek, "it was just another time that you have been patient with me, and helped me," he said softly. He pulled her close hugging her from behind as they looked out at the stars

Lila smiled holding his arms to her. "I needed you just as much. I wouldn't have been able to do everything I did to be that person everyone wanted me to be if I couldn't come back to you and be myself." she told him. "You are my safe place."

Mikkie nodded softly, "well then we are each others safe place," he said softly. He kissed her neck, before moving around in front of her. He was hoping he would have the courage to do it. He smiled at her, "I have something, I want to ask," he said softly.

Lila looked up at him and smiled. "Of course. You can ask me anything." she said smiling softly at him. She hoped that everything was alright. She couldn't remember a time when he had asked if he could ask a question.

Mikkie smiled at her, he fumbled around in his pocket for a moment. "I've been waiting for the perfect time, and place, but every moment I spend with you is perfect," he said softly. He pulled out his grandmother's ring and knelt down, "do you, uh wanna get married?" He asked nervously.

Lila looked down at his pocket then back at his face as he fumbled about. she couldn't remember the last time she had seen him this nervous with her. She smiled softly and then watched as he pulled out the ring and then as he knelt and she gasped softly. Lila giggled softly as her eyes started to swarm with tears. She pressed her hand to her chest and she nodded. "Yes Mikkie. I will marry you." she held out her left hand shakily and beamed as he slipped the ring on her finger. She leaned down and kissed him pulling him back up so she could wrap her arms around him.

Mikkie let out his breath, that he hadn't realised he was holding. He hugged her, and kissed her back. "I love you Lila," he said softly.

"I love you Mikkie." Lila said and smiled. "This is your grandmother's ring." she said looking at it from over his shoulder. Is this the reason you wanted to visit your parents?" she asked him and pulled back smiling. "Oh my gosh they are going to freak." she giggled looking every bit the glowing bride. Then it hit her and her eyes widened. "My parents are going to freak." she said already seeing how they were going to react. She shook her head and kissed Mikkie again before she pulled back and took his hand looking up at the stars again. "I want to wait until after the baby is born. I don't want a bump in the pictures." she said and pressed a hand to her belly realizing that other then the time it kicked after lunch and the time it was pressing on her bladder early that day this was the only other time she had thought about the baby. She had gone almost an entire day without thinking of the baby.

Mikkie blushed softly, "I was thinking about it for awhile, but dad asked and offered me the ring," he said softly. He kissed her again, "of course we can wait, I just wanted you to know, I had zero plans of leaving," he said gently. He ran his hands over her bump. "How has she behaved today, let you concentrate?" he asked

Lila smiled softly as he mentioned his father. "I love it." she said as she touched the ring on her finger. Lila nodded glad that he was willing to wait. "I'm glad you are going to stay." she smiled softly. Lila chuckled. "He was good. Just a little kicking and sitting on the bladder." she chuckled softly and took his hand lacing her fingers with his before starting the walk back to their apartment.

Mikkie smiled and nodded, taking her hand and walking back. "That's good," he said softly. He pulled her close, "shall we stop by the takeaway and get some food?" he asked

"I'm not really hungry but I wouldn't say no to some ice cream." Lila smiled and walked with him. She kept looking at her hand with the ring settled on her finger.

Mikkie chuckled, "okay ice cream it is," he said softly. He walked with her towards the ice cream cafe," he said. He looked at her, "so how does the ring fit?" he asked

Lila smiled. "Yay!" she giggled as they headed for ice cream. "My ring fits perfectly." she kissed his cheek. "I love that it was your grandmother's." she leaned into his side.

Mikkie grinned and nodded, "I know it is beautiful, I know that she would love that you were the one I gave it to," he said softly. "She loved you," he said

Lila smiled softly remembering his grandmother fondly. She had been just upset as his family when she had passed but they all knew she was going to meet her husband in whatever afterlife there was. Lila rubbed her eye. "I loved her." she said and walked into the ice cream parlor with him and hummed as she looked at the choices.

Mikkie grinned, "yeah me too," he said. He looked over the options too, "this is such a nice place, do you think they would deliver if we asked?" he suggested
