For Christmas I got my Canon Rebel Sl1. Its my first dslr and I love her. I just stepped up from a nikon coolpix point and shoot. Photography is an expensive hobby and I was finally able now to dip my toes in.
    The lenses I have are:
Kit lens : Canon EFS 18-55mm Macro
Prime lens: Canon EF 50 mm
Telephoto: Canon EF 75-300 mm (She is my beasty and I love her)

On all of my lenses I have Tiffen UV filters.

My boyfriend is really into film. We like to shoot the same thing and compare after he develops his. There is a beauty and quality about film that I don't think digital and filters will ever be able to recreate.

I have a Sony DSC-W810 and it's a pretty good point and shoot. But I like my DSLR more. I feel like I can do more with it. Anyway, it's a Canon EOS 1200D (pretty sure EOS is rebel in the states, so could also be Canon Rebel 1200D), with the Canon EFS 18-55mm Macro lens that came with it and I also got a Canon EF 75-300 mm lens to take faraway shots and things of that nature.

lmfao I have the 75-300mm lens, but I can't use it without a tripod because it's too heavy and I have no balance.
I graduated from a point-and-shoot camera this past Christmas, so I went from a Nikon COOLPIX to a Canon EOS Rebel T5 with the basic 18-55mm lens usually. And recently, I "inherited" a Canon film camera from the 80's, but I'm not sure the specific name of it off the top of my head, and a few months back, I found a working Minolta SRT 101 in a thrift store for $30. I use mostly digital, but only because I don't want to bankrupt my parents or myself in film. Coffee

I sometimes get blurry photos with it, but yknow... most of the photos I take are of my cat so.
Just out of curiosity, what tripod do you use? I may invest in one one day especially if I want to do long exposure photography.

Same tho. I have more HQ pictures of my cats than ever before. Coffee

I have the 60" Xit Pro Series tripod, but the thing about what I have is that I got all my camera equipment in one fell swoop this past Christmas in one of those kits so all the lens and filters + the tripod I have came in that so I didn't invest in anything specific. My tripod does exactly what I need it to without problems, but obviously it's not the most expensive tripod ever (and it does seem to have some bad reviews). And I think we have the same camera practically so you shouldn't have any problems either, but maybe I've just gotten lucky with mine. You might want to invest in something with better reviews and whatnot.
