Mads Mohr was more than overwhelmed with all the papers laid out before him. Contracts and projects, an endless amount of paperwork that all needed his signature. To top it off he had an interview today and that started soon and he wasn't looking forward to it. The last interview had been for some weird gossip magazine and the questions were all about if he was seeing someone. He loved being reminded that he had absolutely no time for a relationship.

"Adrian," Mads spoke over the intercom, "When's the interview?" Better yet, when was lunch?

    -

Emily was comfortably bundled under a huge pile of blankets on the couch she shared with her room mate and closest friend Jase. Last night was a bit of a blur to her. She could remember shots, singing Cherrybomb during karaoke, a round of beers, and something about standing on the bar declaring her love for drag queens. In hindsight it was a bit quieter than most nights. Just trying to remember the night had her head throbbing.

"Ugh, I wanna yak." She pouted and looked over the couch, "Jase, why do you let me out of the house?"

Adrian was sat in his smaller office next to Mads', a place he rarely spent his time, except for Mads was swamped in paperwork today, so he was taking time to complete all the busy work that was passed down to him. He jumped slightly when Mads' voice came through the intercom. Damn, he had forgotten all about that. Adrian pressed the button on his desk to active his intercom system as well.

"Should be in the next twenty minutes, Mads. You gettin' antsy?" Adrian teased, a slight smirk on his face as he released the button and quickly scanned through the name of the interviewer coming in today.

The girl, Emily Ripley, was supposed to be coming in to ask about the business and how it got up off the ground and whatnot. Hey, at least it wasn't some gossipy interview where she wanted to know all about Mads' personal life. Adrian could respect that.
Jase was impatiently flipping through the clothes in her closet, unsure of what to wear during this impromptu interview with some big time CEO. For now, the first dress she could lay her hand on seemed to be the best option, and she couldn't be damned to put on her contacts or even a pair of heels. She looked semi-dressy from the neck up, so Jase thought that was fair enough. Jase shoved her cigarettes and lighter into her bag before hurriedly applying a quick coat of lipstick, rolling her eyes at the sound of her miserable best friend on the couch.

"Because I always think you can handle your booze until you prove otherwise," Jase said, ruffling Emily's hair with a soft sigh, "I put the questions you wrote down on my phone - I'll try to stay as on topic as I can. Where's the tape recorder?" Jase asked suddenly, spotting the little black box on the coffee table with a soft sigh, walking around the couch to pick it up and toss it into her bag as well. "I'll send you a text when the interview ends, 'kay? There's soup in the pantry and you need to keep yourself hydrated, Em. I'll see you in a bit."

Jase offered her best friend a half smile before leaning down to press an obnoxious red kiss to Emily's cheek before sauntering out of the door, closing and locking it behind her as she started off towards the Mohr Entertainment building. She had seen it almost all the time when she walked to the library downtown, and considering that it was only an extra five minutes on top of the typically twenty minute walk, Jase though she'd make it in enough time.

Mads rubbed his face tiredly and glared at the intercom sitting on his desk. He wasn't antsy per se, he just wanted to go home. It had been so long since he had something even resembling a break from work. After his dad passed when he was twenty one the company was given to him and all the responsibilities that came with it. He shoveled all the papers on his desk into one messy pile and smirked down at it. He'd let Adrian sort through it all, just to be a dick.

"No, just annoyed. Please tell me after the interview I'm free," he begged over the intercom.

    -

Emily smiled up at Jase and then quickly looked away. Her friend was hurrying back and forth and it was enough to make her feel dizzy. "Don't talk about his dad," She called out, "I've heard he doesn't like that!"

Next time she went out she'd have to buy Jase as many drinks as possible. This was a huge interview that she was missing and it could cost her the job she'd worked so hard for. Damn margaritas, she thought bitterly, too damn delicious.

"Bye, princess! Thank you again for being the best person in the universe!"

Adrian checked through all of the papers on his desk as Mads spoke, also flipping through the schedule that he made and managed for him everyday. This Emily girl was the last person he'd be seeing. "You're free," Adrian confirmed, checking the clock and estimating the time that he'd be done, "Would you like me to schedule a massage for when you arrive home?" He asked, already flipping through all of the cards he kept neatly organized on his desk until he found the appropriate one.

To be honest, Mads' home was relaxation enough. When he had first walked around the enormous home, he was afraid he was going to get lost if Mads didn't practically hold his hand. Plus, he had a steam room, jacuzzi, and a gym somewhere in there. He remembered seeing it, but didn't exactly remember where. Adrian didn't believe those rooms came with a masseuse, so he was more than happy to arrange for one to be there when he arrived home.
Jase was way too fucking nervous right now. She'd already sent Emily a text saying that she thought she was going to nervously pee her pants on the walk there, but she was already too far ahead to turn around. At least the weather was semi nice - she didn't feel like she was going to freeze in her dress, so that was a major plus. Jase finally made it to the building, and she ignored the looks a lot of the people on the lower level waiting room gave her, mainly because she wasn't dressed to the nines to see someone there. She walked up to the reception desk and said who she was there to see. The woman told her to meet Mr. Mohr on the tenth floor, so Jase got in the elevator and rode up.

Mads bit his lip and silently punched the air. This just meant that he had to hurry up and get the interview over with. Then he could go home, get in his hot tub, and eat left over pad thai. If someone from work tried to call him he'd drown himself in the jacuzzi.

"No, I'll pass." He ran a hand through his hair and adjusted his tie, "When Miss Ripley gets here can you just send her in?"

    -

Emily smirked at the screen of her phone and sent back mark that office as your territory.

Adrian responded with a quick, "Okay." He put the card back in its original case before noticing a girl sort of dressed for an interview looking around nervously. He stood up from his chair and popped his head out, snapping his fingers out towards the girl. "Mr. Mohr is ready to see you. Just walk in."
Jase stepped out from the elevator and sighed, still pretty lost. She noticed the big door with Mads Mohr's name next to it on a plaque, but she wasn't sure whether to go in or not. Jase was about two seconds from leaving it all behind when some guy snapped in her direction and told her to just walk into his office. With a hesitant look, Jase walked up to the door and opened it slowly, peeking her head in a bit before entering completely. "Good afternoon, Mr. Mohr. I'm, uh, filling in for Emily Ripley, she's come down with a stomach bug. I'm Jase Matthews."

Mads had managed to shove everything on his desk in a random drawer before he heard the door to his office open. It was interview time, that meant he had to put on his business man facade and forget about the take out he was dying to order. He schooled his face into one of cool confidence and looked up. Oh shit, the girl was hot. He stood up from his desk and smiled warmly at her.

"Hello, Jase." He waved her over and sat back in his seat, "Please have a seat."

On my face, he thought to himself, then quickly tried to push it away. What was he thinking? The worst people to hook up with were interviewers. They stayed the night then left with a ten page spread about their victim.

Jase nodded before sitting down in the chair across from him, offering him a nervous grin as she dug around in her bag for the questions that Emily had written down already. When she retrieved them and looked up, she finally took in how incredibly handsome this guy was. Fuck, that's a face she wanted between her legs. Jase opened the notepad and pushed her glasses us a bit further up her nose, eyes trained on the writing so she wouldn't embarrass herself.

"So, Mr. Mohr, tell me about how you came about creating such an extremely successful business in such a short amount of time. Of course it was, uh, successful before, but in the last five years have been amazing." Jase had already set the recorder off to the side, having pressed the button after she got to the root of the question.

Mads folded his hands together and leaned forward in his seat. It was a bit difficult to focus on the interview when the woman in front of him was so stunning. "Call me Mads." He smiled crookedly and resisted sighing. He'd been asked that particular question many times and it'd almost always been the same answer. My father was a great inspiration, it was an honor to follow in his footsteps, blah blah blah. For once he wished he could simply say that the success was because he worked himself to the point where he had no social life. He showed up at parties but was on his phone taking care of the business the entire time.

"Well, to be frank this place would be nothing without my father. I simply saw his vision and wished to expand it."

A memory lingered in the back of his head about an argument he'd had with his dad about getting into music. His dad, the late and 'great' Mathias Mohr, had ridiculed his only son for wanting to not join the business. He told him that if he tried to leave the company he'd cut him out of his will.

Jase nodded as he answered, checking off the sentence that Emily had written down. She read over the second one with a sigh, not really wanting to ask something strictly about this business. Yeah, she understood he was a big shot CEO that everyone envied and wondered about, but he was also a fucking person. Jase closed the notebook and chewed on her lower lip for a moment before asking her next question.

"Did you wish to expand it because you knew it'd make him proud? Or because you were really interested in taking over his entertainment business?" So maybe Em would get a little pissed that she didn't ask the actual follow up question, but now Jase was sort of curious. Mads seemed a little young to be thrust into this limelight so quickly, and she was wondering if he even wanted to be in it at all.

"Sorry if that seems a little personal, I'm, uh, I'm going off script for a moment."

Mads was kind of surprised by Jase's question. He'd been asked a lot of things about his dad (mainly if he would keep up his success or crash and burn) but none were genuinely interested in why he expanded. They all figured it was his dad's next move. He cleared his throat and resisted the urge to bite his lip.

"It's fine," he smiled reassuringly at her. For a moment he was at a loss. What did he say? The only reason he stuck around at all was because he felt like he owed his dad. Since he was a child he'd been told he'd one day take over the business. He'd wanted to pursue music once when he was a teen but that had been shot down.

"I always wanted to branch out into music. It's such a vast field with so many talented people and I want to be part of that." Mads looked up at Jase and smiled when he noticed how beautiful her eyes were.

Jase watched him curiously, head tilting slightly when he finally said his answer, not completely thinking he was telling the whole truth. Her eyes were trained on him as he answered, eyebrows raising slightly when he spoke of wanting to branch out into music, what with her being in a band and all. Sure, her band was underground as hell, but it wasn't like she could act all high and mighty about that. She understood though, her parents had hated her idea of playing guitar in some band full of boys, but she loved it. Loved the long nights of playing in clubs and the exhausting rehearsals. Loved fucking music.

"That's completely understandable," Jase said, deciding to continue asking her own question, "And if you ever went into music, what would you be interested in? Are you more of a behind the scenes worker or would you want to perform? You certainly have the ability to do either."

Mads was pleasantly surprised by Jase's questions, for once someone was asking him about something he was interested in, not numbers or management solutions. He was trained to play the piano classically but he'd always wanted to learn guitar or bass. "I can play piano," he answered honestly, "But it's been years since I've played in front of anyone." He wished that this wasn't an interview, he wanted to ask her questions in return. Did she play music? What kind of music did she like?

"Well maybe I can hear it sometime. Er, I mean, we, as in the rest of the world." Jase mentally facepalmed herself for the screw up before regaining her cool, trying to play it off as casually as she could, despite fidgeting with her glasses as she thought up another question. "Have you ever thought of releasing an EP with your music? If you have the training and the equipment to do so, that'd make an excellent fundraising device. Money going towards charities and whatnot." Jase hoped Emily wouldn't be too pissed in the interview taking a musical direction, but her questions were all business, so maybe she'd have to actually get back on script to get Em the information she needed.

Mads could feel his face heating up and he shook his head. It'd been so long since anybody heard him play, he could hear his dad's voice in the back of his mind saying that music was a waste of time. "Me? No," he laughed nervously and sat up straighter in his chair. He quickly changed to subject, "We've done fundraisers before, but maybe we could include charities for arts programs in schools."

Jase noticed how quickly he changed the subject, knowing that he was slightly embarrassed about having been put on the spot like that. It was her fault for asking the question. "That'd be helpful, what with how little funding the arts programs receive opposed to the various athletic departments." Regretfully, Jase opened the notebook to ask a few of Emily's questions. "How do you go about spotting talent worthy enough to be represented by your company?"

Mads was grateful that Jase didn't push the topic, many reporters would have seen that as a weakness and gone in for the kill. Then again she had mentioned she was only filling in for a friend. He was glad that it was her. "We look for soul, we don't want something that'll just sell, we want passion in our artists." He was heavily involved in the music side of the company. Every band or solo artist that got signed on had to be personally approved by himself. He was starting to get sick of the interview, not because Jase was doing anything wrong, but because he wanted to know more about her. "Are you hungry?" He asked abruptly.

Jase nodded, liking that he looked for an artist with soul and passion, not just an average voice and looks that would make a fortune. At his question, Jase froze a bit, taken by surprise at his question. Without even thinking about the recorder anymore, Jase responded. "Yeah, I kinda ran right out this morning to get here. Why'd you ask?" Of course Jase wasn't dumb, she knew what he was getting it, she was just surprised he was showing some sort of interest in her.

Mads bit his lip nervously and looked up at Jase. "Do you wanna get lunch?" He wasn't exactly skilled in the romantic department. He didn't have a problem finding someone to keep his bed warm but he always got awkward around people he was interested in. "There's a Thai place not far from here. Do you like Thai? We can get something else. Or not, if you don't want," he shrugged and tried to not punch himself in the face for rambling like an idiot. He was the CEO of a company damnit.
