A series of three indie horror games for PC and smartphones (the fourth is slated for release this Halloween), as played here by the hilarious Markiplier on YouTube. Unfortunately I can't play this on a computer as I'm a Mac user, but it's brilliant to watch play-throughs of.

    Warning: jumpscares ahoy.

This game gave me nightmares to be honest.

    It's a great game though!

This game is fantastic, haha. It has certainly blown up since the first game last year, and while some of the hype is getting a little tiring, as long as people are enjoying themselves (or enjoying other people playing it, just like me because I'm too much of a scaredy baby to play it haha), it's all good!

The lore behind it has always seemed kind of interesting though. I don't know a lot of it offhand but I know there are a lot of theory vids up on YouTube and having watched Markiplier play while commentating on stuff like that, especially during his playthrough of the third game, was pretty cool.

Was there ever any mention as to why there was a fourth one though? Because I thought the third one was supposed to be the last installment, so I was surprised to hear Scott Cawthon releasing another one.

I haven't found any statements about the game, only that it has been confirmed through teasers on his website - it's subtitled "the Final Chapter" though, which implies this is going to be the last one.

There's a movie in the runnings too. Mr. Green I'm genuinely dead excited for that, because the whole time I've known about the game franchise I've been thinking how good it would be as a film. It could also be done badly, however. But apparently Scott's involved, so I'm sure he'll do his best to make it live up to the success of the original franchise.

I could've sworn they said the third one was the final chapter...Think But I could be mistaken. I hope the back story with this one stays as interesting as the others. I'm sure it'll be brilliant though, with all the time he's taking to make this next one. (Also at least Markiplier has some time to mentally prepare for it, haha)

I had no idea there's was a movie being made! :o I'm glad Scott will be involved in its creation--I wonder if it'll focus on just the first game, or if it will be all encompassing of the series. Is there an ETA for its release yet? (Theatrical release or YouTube based?)

Side note but also, as far as spin-off games, my favourite so far is Five Nights at Fuckboys. ...maybe it's because I enjoyed Mark's play through so much. tehe

I'm hoping it'll deal with the plot of the whole trilogy, as long as it's not too much, anyway. Maybe that way it won't leave anything out and there won't be any danger of the dreaded horror movie sequel. tehe No news on dates or anything, as far as I know.

And I've been watching some of his playthroughs of Five Nights At Fuckboy's, they're hysterical. :')

So apparently the fourth game was released!! The gameplay looks super interesting so far--as always, I'm following Markiplier's playthrough of it so I've only seen up to whatever day he's stopped at so far. At the risk of potential spoilers, anyone have any thoughts on it? The main character you play as was kind of a surprise to me (though maybe it's really not; I didn't watch any of the trailers so I went into this completely blind :p)

I think that Five Nights at Freddy's 4 is by far the best FNAF game. It really shows how far Scott has come as a developer in just the year since he released the first FNAF game. He's improved my leaps and bounds. I know this is the last FNAF game but I sincerely hope Scott continues as a horror developer. He's given a breath of life to horror gaming and I look forward to his future games.

I think that FNAF 4 is by far the scariest Freddy game. The reason for that is because it is a noise cue game. You have to listen carefully for certain sounds or else you'll lose, and that adds to the scare factor. The jumpscares automatically become scarier because you are forced to listen so hard and concentrate so hard. You're too focused on listening and protecting yourself that the jumpscares end up being scaring you more. The animatronics are also scarier. The game probably would be scary even without jumpscares because of how the animatronics look. Nightmare is a real nightmare. x.x

The moment of hesitation also makes FNAF 4 much scarier. The noise cue creates a hesitation in you. You pause for the few seconds and start to wonder, am I right or wrong? If I turn on the light and I'm wrong, I die. But if I don't do anything... I die. You have to make a choice and those few seconds of hesitation, especially as you advance, create a big tension for the game and it's great.

The end of the game is legitimately sad. Sad [Spoilers in white]After the final night, when "Freddy" is speaking to him... It's not actually Freddy. You can tell by the grey text ("Can you hear me? I don't know if you can hear me. I'm sorry.") that it's the player's older brother speaking to him presumably in the hospital. At the end of the scene, if you listen closely, you can hear a flatline. Assumingly, our character dies at the end after the older brother apologizes. :c[/end spoiler]
I've been playing FNAF 4 and I'm kind of stuck on Night 3. Chika keeps killing me. Facepalm I've been jumpscared by everyone but the one who got me the most was fucking Foxy. Swoon Shining the light in the closet and being greeted with a screeching Foxy face was not something I was expecting. Dear lord. Scared the shit out of me haha. XD

My girlfriend watched me play FNAF 4 once.... Bonnie scared the hell out of her. It was honestly really hilarious. XD She's never going to watch me play a horror game ever again though. Kinda sad she didn't get the joy of meeting Foxy. Ha Ha
Spoilers in white: I wonder what Mibbians think... Do you think the end of the game was really referring to the Bite of '87 or could it be the 'incident that should never be spoken of'? Do people think this is the origin of the puppet? And the box at the end that says "some things should be forgotten for now" (or something of that sort). Do you think it's referring to the promised Halloween DLC?[/end spoiler] I don't know if FNAF 4 has been out long enough where people won't scream "spoiler" at me if I don't mark it haha. XD

By far the best thing that happened to me this year is my acquaintance with video games. I want to leave here the site https://askboosters.com/cod-mw-warzone/, which once helped me a lot to save time and upgrade my account.
