Finding the Reason

Riley watched as Emily agreed then shrugged, "Whatever gets me home." She said. She walked with him then got into his truck. She watched as Emily got in then relaxed against the seat. She hated that she had to get up early the next morning. She wished she could have stayed longer to talk to Jacob.

Jacob drove the sort distance to Emily's houser first, careful of his driving so that she didn't puke in his back seat. Luckily, Emily's brother was the only one home when he pulled up and Jacob was happy to leave her in the other boys care. His next stop was Rikey's house and he couldn't help but chuckle when he saw the curtains shift in the front window. "Did you know they were going to wait up on you?" He asked, cutting the engine.

Riley rolled her eyes, "Never was before." She muttered as she opened the door. "Thanks for the ride." She said. She shut his door then waved softly and went to her house. she walked in, ignoring her mom's new husband. Riley sighed as she walked to her room and kicked off her shoes before laying down and going to bed. The next morning she got up and got dressed She sighed as she walked into the church with her mom and sat down, crossing her arms.

Jacob waited until she was inside to start his truck and head back to the party. He needed to find his sister and he needed to find someone sober enough to drive Emily's car. Surprisingly, he found both within a matter of minutes. For once his sister had barely touched a beer a party and for that he was grateful. They drove back home, and immediately went to bed knowing their mom would freak if they missed church. Plus he now had something to look forward to. The next morning he got up, showered and dressed in his Sunday best of khaki pants and a light blue, long-sleeved, button up. They had to leave early to get Emily her car but he really didn't care. He walked in through the most used side entrance of the large white building and grinned when he noticed Riley sitting in the front pew with her mother.

Riley sighed as everyone came in, hoping to just get this over with. She didn't understand why they all got so dressed up. She thought it was suppose to be a place for no judgement and what not. She felt someone looking at her then looked over and saw Jacob.
