They were ten and they were wild. But there was no one worse than Tommy. In this world there were very few with special abilities and most of them came directly from technology. But these boys, these twins were different. Long ago when their mother and her twin were barely stepping out of their teenage years they willingly submitted themselves to experiments by Hydra. They wanted to make a difference for the war struck homeland, only to find that they were on the wrong side. During those experiments they became known as Enhanced. Their mother, they would say she was weird, a mind controller, a hexer. Their uncle he was fast, damn fast in every sense of the word, from his running speed to his metabolism to his brain processing. It was from these experiments and Wanda's later named chaos magic caused her sons to be born with powers. No experiments, no chemicals, nothing, they were a new and extremely rare of human. Some liked to joke and call them mutants, of course in the most endearing way imaginable, since it was family that called them this.
There was the older twin, Thomas Maximoff, Tommy, he was the spitting image of his mother's twin. A white haired speedster, smart beyond his years from the fact that his mind processed everything at lightening speed. The younger twin, William Maximoff, Billy, a chaos magic wielder, just like his mother.
At the age of seven their powers began to emerge. At first Wanda didn't know how to handle this. She had lost loved ones because of their never ending battle as Avengers, most beneficial because of her enhanced abilities, so she knew that once her boys were of age they would want to be heroes too. So maybe, maybe if she didn't acknowledge the powers, they will become dormant again. But Tommy was running ten laps at Avenger's Mansion in around five minutes. And Billy, Billy was moving things with his hands, making things burn from bolts of lightening when he was angry. Wanda quickly learned that there was no denying their powers. She cried in fear, but with the comfort and support of her brother and her husband, The Vision, yes the android was the twin's father, and the rest of the Avengers they helped her make the right chose.
So at the age of ten Tony Stark, along with some of the most brilliant minds the Avengers had to offer, created an educational program for the twins. One specially designed to work with the abilities of the twins. Tommy would spend just a handful of hours in front of one of the most advanced computers in the world, learning the day's lessons at lightening speed. The rest of his days were spent with his uncle Quicksilver and a few other honing his speed, running faster and faster, and learning other ways to use his speed. It was no surprised that the moment he learned how to manipulate the atoms in matter to make them explode that that become his favorite part of the day.
As for Billy, his lessons were what most home schooled boys would expect to get. Except that there was an hour, sometimes two, to studying the occult. And after that he would spend time with his mother and if Doctor Strange was around, with him as well, practicing his chaos magic. There is a running theory that Billy could be a conjurer. No thoughts as of yet though on altering reality.
And while it would seem that they had a set schedule, the world was a never stopping place. So when they were set in the flow of things, their little family of oddball aunts and uncles would vanish if they traveled the world, being heroes where they were needed and that was when Cassie Lang, 17 year old daughter of Scott Lang, Ant Man, was called to babysit the troublesome twins. She was there long before the twins were born. She had even suited up a couple of times and fought alongside the Avengers so there was no one better to babysit the twins than her, and the amazing pay helped too.
Her brain was pulsing. She rubbed at her temples as Tommy ran the span of the massive living room, leaving a mess in his wake. The Avengers had been gone for two days now, something about some evil organization trying to create super soldiers. So she was stuck babysitting. What was worse was that she had his senior project to finish and Tommy had already destroyed it and fixed it twice. "Tommy, you have to stop." She groaned. Don't get her wrong, she loved the twins, grew up with them, even saw them as her annoying little brothers, but Tommy was a destructive tornado. "But I have too much energy, Cassie! And Billy is being a dork and won't play with me!" The good twin, as Cassie had dubbed him, as sitting at the desk off to the side, avoiding his whirlwind of a brother, as he worked on his assignments. "No, he's being good. You mother wants your assignments done before she gets back." Tommy stopped in front of Cassie. "I know, but I'm fast! It'll be done before she gets home!" And then he was gone again, this time stopping as his twin's side to tug at his arm. "Play with me~" He whined.
