Melony stood towards the back of the room as more people entered the ballroom. The was probably the last place in the world that she wanted to be. A party between the vampire and human kingdoms wasn’t going to solve anything. The two species were always going to hate each other. She was just surprised the guest weren’t already at each other’s throats, literally. Surprisingly everyone was acting quite civil with one another, but that was probably because if they didn’t they would all have to face the wrath of their respective kings, one of which was her father. So being princess of the human kingdom it was her royal duty to attend the ball whether she wanted to or not.
While the two groups might not have been trying to kill each other at the moment they certainly weren’t mingling together. Vampires only socialized with vampires and humans did the same, but to anyone who didn’t know better it probably looked like just a regular party. Melony knew better than that though and while some people even dared to dance she was sure to stay away from it all, refusing to play into this little charade. With a champagne glass held carelessly in one hand her expression was one of boredom. The ball had only just begun and she wanted nothing more than to leave but she couldn’t. She was still not sure what it was but her father had been quite adamant that there was an important reason for her being there and if she left it would only royally piss him off
So after downing the rest of the champagne in her glass she went to go get some more, convinced that drinking was the only way she’d get through the night. As if on a mission she began to weave her way in and out of the guests the skirt of her forest green gown trailing after her as she went not stopping until she reached the refreshments table.
