@ Frankie;
Laci could feel her phone vibrate in her pocket as she carried her three-year-old daughter
Teeghan out to her car. They'd just gotten out of a doctor's appointment and were about to head home. Laci buckled Teeghan into her car seat and sat down in the front seat before pulling out her phone. She saw that she had a text message from her friend Kinsley and opened it.
Avenged Sevenfold is going to be in town. it read. Laci groaned softly, slumping down in her seat. Avenged Sevenfold meant Zacky, and Zacky meant dragging up ghosts from her past, which she wasn't ready to do. When she'd walked away from Zacky four years ago, she'd thought it would be for good. He didn't even know that Teeghan existed, and she was his daughter.
He didn't know he had a daughter. But Sacramento was a big concert city, so she should've known that Avenged Sevenfold would play here sooner or later.
"Mommy, we going home now?" Teeghan asked from the back seat. "I'm hungry."
"In a few minutes, baby girl," Laci replied. "I just have to text your aunt Kinsley back first."
Laci fumbled around for her phone for a few seconds before unlocking it and typing a quick message to Kinsley.
Well shit, was all it said. It was all Laci could think to say right now. Once the message was sent, she shoved her phone into one of the cup holders and started her car.
"Jimmy, quit fucking cheating," Johnny grumbled, mashing buttons with his thumbs. The drummer and bassist were currently sitting in the living room playing some old fighting game with Brian watching. It wasn't that interesting, but since they were on the tour bus, there wasn't much else to do besides sleep.
"I'm not cheating, you're just a sore loser," Jimmy replied. This was a lie. As he said this, Jimmy reached over and tapped Johnny on his shoulder, causing the younger man to swivel his head around. With Johnny distracted, Jimmy was easily able to win the current round. He cackled loudly as Johnny swore at him.
"You two are actual children," Brian commented.
"We are not, you're just boring," Jimmy shot back. "Old fuddy-duddy."
Brian sighed, deciding not to respond to his friend's comment. The other two men were concentrating on the next round of their game now, anyway. It wasn't that he was trying to be boring, he was just distracted. Being on tour always made him think of his ex-girlfriend Kinsley. It had been almost three years since she'd left, seemingly following in the footsteps of Zacky's ex-flame Laci. He remembered the times Kinsley had come on tour with them; she'd always seemed so excited to be on the road. She and Laci had even helped out with the merch booth. But after Laci left, saying that she couldn't handle Zacky and his constant partying, Brian had noticed a change in Kinsley. She wasn't as enthusiastic about Avenged Sevenfold anymore, and soon she'd left too, citing the same reason as Laci.
I just can't take it anymore. The last words she'd ever said to him rang through Brian's head as he stared at the window, trying to ignore Jimmy and Johnny cursing in the background.
