    Amanda

First day of Junior year, isn't that fucking great, Amanda thought bitterly as she walked along the sidewalk with her step-sister, Whitney, following right behind her, At least I have a good friend who decided to stick with me.

Amanda and Whitney first met after Amanda's mother abandoned her and her dad, Patrick. Months after that situation, he ran into a beautiful woman by the name of Laura, who then a year later became the new wife to Patrick and Whitney became the step-sister. Only problem is, is that the two are busy doctors and really all they care about is each other...not the "annoyance" of the two daughters. From that start of a horrible parent-daughter relationship to the two girls, Amanda and Whitney became extremely close to the point of best friends. The parents would give them a roof over their heads and some stuff to please them, but that was only to "keep them quiet".

"I'm not looking forward to this stupid shit," Amanda groaned, brushing down her outfit that consisted of short black shorts, black combat boots, a slim purple tank top, and a black hoodie of skull designs, "All i know is that the stupid preppy bitches here will fucking annoy me because I'm the Goth girl of the school...who supposedly equals to a 'freak of nature'."
    Johnny

"Hey short shit!" Johnny heard his best friend, Jimmy Sullivan, call out from far behind him, "Wait up for me!"

Johnny chuckled and shook his head before coming to a stop so Jimmy can catch up, "Hey, man."

Johnny and Jimmy have been best friends for a very long time, often hanging out with their group of friends from another school by the names of Matt, Brian, and Zack. The two wished they could have moved to that school, but they were stuck under the unfortunate "regulations" of the parents and the board of education.

"Just this year and the year after that and I can kiss this fucking piece of shit school goodbye," Jimmy declared as he pulled out a cigarette, "I hate just about everyone there. Too many damn jocks and perky girls that are...like...death to my ears."

Johnny busted out a laugh, "Damn right," he smirked, noticing two girls with backpacks from across the street, "Hey, check those two out."

    Whitney

"Just look at it this way, only two more years left," Whitney pointed out. She knew that her step-sister got picked on a lot for her choice of dress and hated that. Amanda was a nice person - one of the nicest people Whitney knew, honestly - and Whitney hated that she was bullied. "And at least people know you here, I'm completely new." After her mother married Amanda's father, the two of them moved into the Clarke household, which meant that Whitney was forced to change schools.

"Being known is my problem," Amanda grumbled. "I wish I could start over at a new school, I bet that'd be great."

Whitney just shrugged her shoulders, adjusting her backpack. It was quite heavy with textbooks, since her mother was forcing her to take all the advanced classes available. "You've got potential and I won't let you waste it," she said time and time again. Whitney wished her father was still alive; he wouldn't have let Laura force Whitney to do these things.

Out of the corner of her eyes, Whitney saw two guys approaching. Amanda obviously noticed as well; she nudged her step-sister with her elbow, whispering, "Eye candy at six o'clock."
    Jimmy

"What about 'em?" Jimmy asked. He stomped out his cigarette as they entered the school grounds, not really feeling like getting a detention on the very first day of school. He'd save that for the second day. Suddenly a thought popped into his head and he turned to Johnny with a smirk. "You think they're cute or something? You trying to chase tail on the first day, Johnny boy?"

"What, no--" Johnny started, but Jimmy didn't let him finish. He grabbed Johnny by the elbow and began dragging him in the direction of the two girls the shorter boy had pointed out.

Jimmy cleared his throat. "'Scuze me, ladies," he said. The two girls stopped and turned around. One of them Jimmy vaguely recognized - did they have history together last year? - but the other face was fresh. "My friend here would like to make the acquaintance of the inside of your pants." The two girls looked surprised at first but then started laughing; out of the corner of his eye, Jimmy could see Johnny's face heat up.

    "Fuck you, Jimmy."

    Amanda

Amanda couldn't help but make an infectious giggle at the raven-haired man of tattooed arms who seemed to be familiar in her own memory of last year. She vaguely recognizes this man being in her history class sitting right behind her and often being her partner when it came to some class discussions. Amanda shook the memory out of her head and exchanged smiles with the two guys.

"That was rather fucking funny," Whitney giggled, "What are your names?"

"Well the one I embarassed have to death is Johnny," the raven-haired man of blue eyes gestured to the shorter man of dark brown hair, "And I am Jimmy," he grinned cheekily, mainly looking over at Amanda, "I swear I recognize you from last year. Mr. Evans' history class...right?"

Amanda nodded, biting her lower lip slightly, "Yeah...you sat behind me."

"I knew it," Jimmy whispered, licking over his dry lips, "Mind if I escorted you beautiful ladies to your lockers? The halls of this shit hole can be pretty brutal."
    Johnny

Why do I always have to fucking be the one to be humiliated, especially when it comes to girls I tend to find pretty, Johnny thought deeply, his eyes gazing at the brunette of bright eyes that rather intrigued him, This 'new girl' should be interesting to get to know of if she is close with Amanda by the looks of it.

"Uh...My name is Johnny," Johnny said shyly as he looked over at the brunette by the corner of his eye, "What's your name?"

"Whitney," she smiled as they continued walking towards the school, "I'm sorry that your friend humiliated the hell out of you like that. But it truly made my day with a good laugh."

"No shit," Johnny chuckled, following right behind Jimmy and the one named Amanda, "So I'm guessing you are truly new to this school?"

    "Yup," she responded.

"Well stick close to us folks because the jocks and bitches are snobs and I rather not have you get caught in the middle of the encounters," Johnny said as a friendly warning.

    Whitney

"I'll keep that in mind," Whitney said, smiling slightly. Johnny and Jimmy weren't the type of people Whitney was usually friends with, but they seemed nice enough. And this Johnny fellow is pretty damn cute. Too bad Laura would never let her date, let alone have a boyfriend. Whitney reached around to the front pocket of her backpack and pulled out her schedule. "Think you could help me find my classes?" she asked. "Since I'm supposed to stick close to you."

Johnny took her schedule from her hands and surveyed it with wide eyes. "God, why are you taking all of these AP classes?" he exclaimed. "You're insane."

"My mom is making me," Whitney answered. At the mention of Laura, her mood quickly plummeted. "She wants me to get into a good college."

"Well maybe you can tutor me in...everything?" Johnny suggested, laughing. "Unlike you, I'm not that smart so I'll probably barely pass anything. Especially chemistry, that's my worst subject. I'm in the remedial class."

"I think I can help you out," Whitney agreed, her voice soft. Maybe Laura wouldn't mind that she was talking to a boy if she was helping him with schoolwork? It would be something to put on a college application, after all.
    Jimmy

Jimmy snatched Amanda's schedule from her hands as soon as she pulled it out of her backpack. She protested, but Jimmy ignored her. "Hey, we've got pre-calculus together!" he shouted happily. At least he'd have one person he could tolerate in that class; poor Johnny was repeating algebra II, so he was a lost cause.

"Don't get your hopes up, I'm terrible at math," Amanda told him. Jimmy frowned. Well, there goes that idea. Amanda jerked her hand backwards at her step-sister, who was deep in conversation with Johnny. "Whitney might be able to help you, though. She's smart. Her mom's making her take all AP classes this year. Next year, too."

Jimmy grimaced. "Harsh," he said. He was glad his parents weren't forcing him to do things like that. Honestly, they didn't give a shit as long as he brought home at least a D in everything. Their standards for their only son were not set high. Amanda stopped when she reached her locker, and Jimmy stopped next to her. Whitney and Johnny kept walking, probably headed towards her locker. "Your sister and Johnny seem to be getting along," he commented.

    Amanda

"Yeah, surprisingly," Amanda said with a raised brow, "She isn't that much of a talker towards guys, ever since our mom called her out on it in public one time that embarrassed her completely."

"Sounds like a total bitch," Jimmy muttered, "Well trust me, if you met my mom, she would treat you as if you were already a part of the family," he chuckled, "I guess its because she gets excited when she sees pretty girls come home with me to meet everyone."

Amanda couldn't help but blush slightly at his words as she stuffed her needed materials into her backpack and locked her locker up with a combination. Slowly she turned around to face him with a friendly smile, "I guess I will see you in Pre-Cal in 2nd period today?"

"Sure thing," he grinned, "Maybe I can text ya to keep you busy?"

Amanda pursed her lips and snatched his phone when he got it out of his pocket, immediately placing her phone number in just to see how any of this would turn out, "There. See you then," she winked, walking away to her first class.
    Johnny

Johnny's ears perked up when Whitney accepted to helping him out with his homework, giving him not only the chance to succeed in school but to get to know the new girl in town before any other "asshole" does in this neighborhood.

"Sounds fucking awesome," he grinned, hearing the bell ring as Amanda walked off, "See you in the upcoming classes, gorgeous," he winked before walking off.

This girl so far seems a bit interesting, Johnny thought to himself with a smug look on his face, I just hope no douchebags fuck with her today.

Glancing at Jimmy, Johnny's eyes furrowed when he saw his friend put in Amanda's number securely into his contacts, "Dammit, you already got her number didn't you? You sly fucker."

    Whitney

"Uh, bye," Whitney sputtered. She stood there a few seconds watching as Johnny walked down the hall before she finally snapped out of it and headed in the opposite direction. He'd winked at her, called her gorgeous. Gorgeous. It wasn't the first time Whitney had been called that, but it still surprised her every time it happened.

Realizing that the bell had already rung, Whitney hurried off to her first class, which was AP English. English wasn't her favorite subject, but it was easy enough. She was disappointed that Amanda and their new friends wouldn't be in any of her classes, but maybe she would see them during lunch hour.
    Jimmy

"I sure as fuck did," Jimmy replied smugly. He grinned, gesturing at himself. "She wants this smoking bod."

    Johnny scoffed. "Suuuuure."

Jimmy frowned, smacking Johnny upside the head. The younger boy cried out in outrage, but Jimmy didn't stick around to hear his complaints; for once he actually felt like getting to class on time. His first class was biology. Not his favorite, but he could tolerate it. Especially if it got him closer to second period, when he could talk to Amanda again. She seemed like an interesting girl, and even if she wasn't interested in him like that, Jimmy still thought they could be friends.

"See ya around, Johnny boy!" Jimmy hollered over his shoulder.

    Amanda

Sitting down in her 1st Period English class, already she was starting to get the "stares" and whispering from a small group of snooty girls that sat way in the back. She was always a target for them because of her Goth look that was considered to them as a "emo attention wannabe" type of shit and her "peculiar" personality that they somehow got to know about. Now she was really wondering what they would be up to this year.

"Alright class, let me hand out your syllabus and textbook for this year before we get started with discussions over what will be in store for all of you," Mr. Davidson announced as he started handing out all of the materials.

Feeling her phone vibrate in her pocket, Amanda looked down and opened up her phone to see that a certain somebody texted her...and she knew exactly who it was.

"Hey Amanda, it's Jimmy. Thought I keep you company in class ;)"

Amanda smirked slightly at his cheesy attempt of flirting before texting back:

"Oh really? Like what exactly do you have in mind that is out of your bucket of cheesy flirt ideas Lol. You are gonna have to do better than that :P"
    Johnny

Constantly Johnny already began staring up at the clock in his damn remedial math class that he was forced to take. He loathed this subject and barely much cared for this bullshit studies on what he called the "devil's academics".

Like seriously, who the fuck would enjoy math at this early of the day? Johnny thought with a groan, wishing he honestly could be talking to Jimmy now...better yet, talking to Whitney.

He wasn't sure what was getting to him about the "new girl" but to him, she seemed like a total mystery book ready to be opened up to his attention. It made it even more interesting that she was now the sister of Amanda. Johnny knew he had no chance with Amanda by the fact that Jimmy is all over her already...but this was his chance to get to know someone similar or just close with the unique female.

"Dammit Johnny, you are loosing it, focus," he whispered quietly to himself in frustration.

    Whitney

Whitney entered the cafeteria and quickly scanned the large room, looking for somewhere to sit. Luckily she quickly spotted Amanda sitting near the the back, away from the crowds. Whitney made her way over to her step-sister and sat down across from her. "How has your day been so far?" she asked.

Amanda shrugged. "School is school," she replied. Then she smiled. "Jimmy has been texting me though, so I haven't been completely bored."

"I think he likes you," Whitney teased. Amanda denied this, but Whitney knew it was true. Jimmy seemed overly friendly to everyone, but he'd taken a special liking to her sister. Jimmy seemed nice enough. Whitney just hoped he wouldn't hurt Amanda.

"And what about Johnny?" Amanda put in, obviously trying to return the favor of embarrassment. "Has he been messaging you or anything?"

Whitney shook her head. "He doesn't have my number," she said.
    Jimmy

Jimmy rubbed his stomach as he and Johnny made their way to the cafeteria. "Man, I'm starving!" he shouted. Several people looked over. "It's such a shame this school serves us such shit."

"I think we're having pizza today, though," Johnny pointed out, and Jimmy perked up. Pizza was pretty hard to fuck up, even for this school. Granted, it might be a little cold, but Jimmy liked cold pizza.

Once inside, he and Johnny started making their way over to their usual corner, the one they'd sat in since freshman year. However, as they were walking, two familiar faces caught Jimmy's eye and he stopped, causing Johnny to faceplant into his back. The shorter boy began cussing and Jimmy laughed. "Sorry, Johnny boy," he chuckled. He pointed across the cafeteria. "Say, there are Amanda and Whitney, let's go sit with them."

    Amanda

"Well, maybe I can force his number out of him, hm?" Amanda teased with a smirk, her eyes glancing over at Jimmy and Johnny coming their way, "Well look who decided to show up."

"Hey ladies," Jimmy said as he took a seat right next to Amanda, "How are we all doing today?"

"Doing good I guess," Amanda smiled, brushing some black strands away from her face, "Too bad that you sat on the other side of the room in 2nd period. At least you were able to text me," she winked.

"Hell yeah," Jimmy smirked, scooting closer to Amanda to where she could greatly smell his intoxicating cologne and have a closer look at his tattoos, "Man, I'm starving."

Amanda nodded while getting out her lunch bag that consisted of her fruits and a few junk food related snacks that she very much liked. At least her parents were able to stock up on large amounts of food despite their interest in being a "family".

"What are you doing after school?" Jimmy asked, "I'm going to be hanging with my friends and...well...maybe you can join? After all, they heard me talking about you before."

Amanda glanced up at his blue eyes with a raised brow, "You serious? What's so special about me?"
    Johnny

Noticing Jimmy and Amanda having a rather "secret" discussion, Johnny decided to do the same with Whitney to try to get to know her more, "So, Whitney?"

"Yes?" she replied as she got out her sandwich to eat for lunch.

Johnny licked over his dry lips before taking a bite of his brownie that came with the school lunch and then glancing at her, "Would you like to get away from your crazy parents and maybe...get some coffee with me or something?"

"You don't want to hang out with your friends?" Whitney asked curiously.

Johnny laughed softly, "I could spend some time away from them to get to know someone interesting. Besides, I don't want to drag you into knowing my friends right away since they don't know who you are. I rather do something more comfortable. I mean, you can come to my house as well to just watch movies, hang with my dogs, and whatever. Just a hang out that's all," he shrugged with a smile.

    Whitney

"Coffee sounds okay," Whitney replied. She took a small bite of her sandwich, counting five bites before she swallowed. "But I don't think Laura and my step-dad would let me come over to your house." There wasn't even a point in asking. Laura didn't want Whitney distracted by boys.

If Johnny was disappointed at all, he didn't really let it show. "Well, coffee it is, then," he said. "Is today okay with you?"

Whitney nodded. Since Amanda was going out after school, it shouldn't be that hard to convince Laura that Whitney was going with her. It wasn't in Whitney's nature to lie, but it couldn't hurt this one time. Whitney pulled a sticky-note and a pencil out of her bag. She scribbled her phone number on it before sticking it to Johnny's forearm. She smiled at the confused look on his face. "Text me," she said sheepishly.
    Jimmy

Jimmy shrugged. "I dunno exactly," he said. "But I can tell, I'm smart like that." Amanda laughed. Jimmy slapped his hand on the table, getting to his feet. "I'm gonna go get a tray now. I'm fucking starving."

Jimmy hurried over to the hot line. He got a tray, practically drooling over the delicious scent of the pepperoni pizza, and grabbed a milk carton before heading back over to the table. "So what friends of yours are we meeting after school?" Amanda asked.

Jimmy took a large bite of his pizza, chewing and swallowing before answering her. "Their names are Matt, Zacky, and Brian. They go to the high school on the other side of town."

"How come you don't go there, too?"

Jimmy rolled his eyes. "My parents thought I might do better in school if I didn't have them to distract me," he said. "But they're barking up the wrong tree. All I care about is drumming. I mean, it's the only thing I'm good at."

    Amanda

"Drumming is pretty damn sweet though," Amanda smiled, sipping the drink that rested against her pale fingertips, "So, how about I meet you after school then?" she suggested before looking over at her sister, "And I will catch up with you when I get back home?"

Whitney saluted her, "You got it, sista."

    **After School ~ Parking Lot**

Whitney and Amanda chatted up about their day and texts with the guys while heading out the back door of the school into the parking lot. So far, there seemed to be a silver-lining to all of the bullshit in her life...but she wasn't going to let her guard down that easily.

"Amanda! Over here!" she heard Jimmy shout out from the corner of the school at a good 50 feet from her.

Looking over, she saw Jimmy with a few other guys that were most likely his friends. Amanda hugged Whitney and waved goodbye while walking off to meet Jimmy and his friends.

"Hey," she waved sort of shyly.
    Johnny

Leaning his back against his car in the lot, Johnny looked towards the school doors to then notice Whitney hugging her sister and then looking around to find him. Smiling, he got out his phone and texted her to grab her attention.

Keep going straight and you will see a dark blue, crappy car. ~ Johnny

Waiting a few minutes, his eyes then came in contact with Whitney's bright eyes and soft, shy smile that he actually found very cute.

"Hey there," he smiled, giving her a one-arm hug around the shoulders, "Ready for the best coffee date of your life?" he joked.

"Sure," Whitney said with a slight giggle.

Johnny grinned and opened the passenger door for her, "Ladies first," he gestured.

    Whitney

"I have to be home by six," Whitney told Johnny as they drove away from the school. She held her backpack on her lap and gazed straight ahead. She was insanely nervous, even more so now that Johnny had called it a date. Whitney had never been on a date in her life, let alone with a guy she'd just met that day. She had no idea what to do or what to say. Although she was happy to be away from home, even if it was only for a few hours.

"That's plenty of time," Johnny replied. "So did you have a good day?"

Whitney shrugged. She directed her gaze down to the bag in her lap. "It was okay, I guess," she sighed. "I already have assignments, not that I'm surprised. I just really hope I can make it through this year without getting super stressed like I usually do."
    Jimmy

Jimmy threw his arm over Amanda's shoulder and drew her close. "Guys, this is Amanda Clarke," he announced. He gestured to each of his friends. "And Amanda, these fuckers are Matt, Zacky, and Brian."

"Wow, way to be fucking rude, Rev," Brian laughed.

Jimmy flipped him off with his free hand. "So where are we headed today, boys?" he asked wickedly.

"Well I was thinking about ripping a couple of six packs off of the gas station on twelfth street and then maybe we can head to Brian's to use the fire pit?" Zacky suggested. All of the boys - Jimmy included - put in their agreement.

"What do you say, Amanda?" he asked the girl. "Wanna go celebrate the first day of hell by getting sloshed?"

    Amanda

I can see myself having a real good time this year hanging out with this crazy bunch Amanda thought to herself, a smile forming on her red lips.

"I am so in, I could use a bunch of drinks," she smirked, earning a bunch of grins from the guys that made her feel more at ease.

"I like her so far," Matt mentioned, causing her to blush slightly.

"Let's go then!" Jimmy announced before grabbing Amanda's arm and taking her to the car that belonged to Matt's, "Her and I get the back seat, Sanders."

"As long as you don't fuck on it, I am all cool," Matt muttered, which caused Amanda to have a hint of red on her face from that comment.

"I don't go that far, my dear sir," Amanda smiled, hopping in right next to Jimmy, "You better have good drinks because I'm going to need it."
    Johnny

Johnny frowned at her statement and looked over at her every minute or so to check up on how she was doing while he drove, "I just think it is bullshit for them to put you through all of that. I mean...high school may be about academics but it is also about having fun while being a teenager. That's what I have to say about it, considering my future is hopefully going to be more relaxed based on what is on the way."

Whitney glanced over at him, "What exactly do you have planned after school?"

Johnny smiled, "My friends are in a band that we are so far just going with right now. I am the bassist, Zack and Brian are the guitarists, Jimmy is drums, and Matt is singer. So far it's going great."

"Can I see you guys play one day?" she asked.

Johnny looked over, "Absolutely," he chuckled, clearing his throat soon after, "I hope that...I'm not making you nervous or anything. I would hate to be a bother."

    Whitney

"You're fine," Whitney whispered. She smiled softly at Johnny. "It's actually nice to talk to someone besides Amanda." After saying her sister's name, Whitney couldn't help but think of what Amanda was doing. She hoped she was having fun and that Jimmy was treating her nice.

A few minutes later, Johnny pulled into a parking spot at Starbucks and he and Whitney got out. "What would you like?" he asked.

Whitney quickly surveyed the menu, although she already knew what she wanted. Whatever has the lowest amount of calories. That way it wouldn't absolutely churn her stomach if she couldn't get it back up later. "I'll just have a tall Caffe Americano," she answered. She reached into her bag for her wallet but stopped when she felt Johnny touch her forearm.

"It's on me," he said, smiling. Whitney looked away, trying to hide the slight blush on her cheeks.
    Jimmy

"Man, we shoulda lifted something else besides beer," Zacky whined, slumping against a rock. The four of them, along with Amanda, had gone to their "spot" in Central Park after stealing a few six-packs. "This beer is doing a piss-poor job of getting me drunk."

Jimmy smiled wickedly, reaching into his backpack. "Well then it's a good thing I though ahead!" he exclaimed. He pulled the half-gallon of Smirnoff out of his backpack, brandishing it for his friends to see.

"Did you carry that around at school all day?" Amanda gasped.

Jimmy nodded, shrugging. He opened the vodka and took a large sip, wincing when the alcohol burned its way down his throat. He held out the bottle. "Who's next? Come on now, don't be a bunch of pussies." He looked over at Amanda, grinning. "You want a shot, sweetheart?"

    Amanda

Amanda couldn't help but smile at his offer, immediately grabbing the bottle and chugging half the contents that was in it. Once she set it down, all the guys looked at her, including Jimmy, in a rather surprised manner.

Amanda raised a brow at all of them, "What? Never seen a girl drink before?"

"N-Not that much and not that so large in amounts," Jimmy muttered with a grin.

Amanda giggled before letting out a loud burp that instantly made her cover her mouth, "That was embarassing."

"That was actually sexy," Jimmy said, wrapping his arm around her waist to pull her closer to them, "Time to get tipsy!"

"Fuck yeah!" Amanda announced, the buzzing state starting to already form in her body.
    Johnny

"Here you go," Johnny said as he gave Whitney her drink and escorted her to outside at one of the benches to relax on while they had their coffee, "Let's sit here. I need the fresh air anyways," he chuckled.

"Okay," Whitney responded with a nod before taking a seat next to him, "T-Thank you for paying for this. You really don't have to."

"You really think I would let a pretty girl like you pay for their own overpriced coffee when I have enough money to do the honors? Not on my watch," Johnny winked, sipping his drink with a hum of approval.

Whitney and Johnny sat for a few minutes of silence to take their coffee in and give the space needed before going into a more in-depth conversation.

"I saw you hesitating on your selection...your parents do go so crazy on your weight and figure do they?" Johnny asked curiously," Just wondering...because I think you are perfect the way you are..." he said, flustering a bit at his words.

    Whitney

Whitney felt a surge of panic flare through her body. Was she really that easy to read? Johnny's first comment flustered her so much that she barely noticed his compliment. She shrugged her shoulders, trying to play off the overwhelming uneasiness that now filled her body. "No, not really," she said. "They don't really pay attention to anything I do, except for my schoolwork." She took a sip of her coffee. She was thankful for the caffeine, knowing she would need it to stay up and study like Laura wanted.

Whitney didn't know what to say at this point. She felt so awkward now and she just wanted to go home. "I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable," Johnny said softly.

"It's okay." Whitney managed a half-smile. It wasn't really Johnny's fault. How could he have known? She would just have to be much better about hiding her tendencies in the future.
    Jimmy

Jimmy looked at the empty half-gallon of vodka in his hand, his eyes crossing slightly. After Amanda had chugged nearly half the bottle - which was quite impressive - Jimmy had finished off the rest. He was starting to feel drunk, but he wasn't drunk enough. He reached for one of the beers that they'd stolen and using his keys, poked a hole near the bottom. He popped the top and shotgunned the beer before tossing the can over his shoulder.

Amanda was slumped against him, his arm still thrown over her shoulder. She was pretty drunk as well, now that all of that vodka had hit her. He leaned over, putting his mouth close to her ear. "Hey," he whispered. He pulled her closer. She made a noise to show that she was listening. "You want me to take you home now?"

With Amanda so close to him, Jimmy could smell her perfume. He shouldn't have gotten so drunk around her so soon, because he had a hard time controlling himself when he was drunk. He barely knew Amanda and Jimmy didn't want to mess things up by trying to move too far too fast.

"Hm?" Amanda hummed with her head lying against Jimmy's shoulder as the drunk state really took over her, "I want to cuddle...I don't want to go home..."

"You sure? I can get you home," Jimmy insisted with a small chuckle, his mind swirling from the great amount of booze in his body.

"But you are drunk too," Amanda slurred with a loud giggle, soon lying back on the blanket they were resting on and tugging on Jimmy's arm, "Come on...please?"

Jimmy sighed with a soft laugh before giving in to her request and lying down right next to her. Even when drunk, Amanda always loved the feeling of being close to somebody and feeling affection, even if it was just in a friendly way. She was never held by a guy for a long time...and lately, since she knew Jimmy a bit, she wanted someone like him to be there for her, especially with her being so out of it.

Adjusting herself, Amanda moved over and wrapped her arm around his waist with her head resting on his chest as well, "You smell nice..."
    Johnny

"Do you...want me to take you home?" Johnny asked, feeling horrible now for saying something as idiotic as what he said earlier.

"I don't know..." Whitney whispered, moving her fingers over the now empty coffee cup and feeling a bit awkward, "Don't blame yourself. I'm honestly kind of glad you said something."

"I just wanted you to know that you were really pretty, that's all," Johnny chuckled nervously, "I am a loser when it comes to talking to girls, so I'm sorry if I scared you already."

"You aren't a loser," Whitney said, her eyes gazing over to his.

"Well, I never was able to talk 'correctly', especially when it came to girls as beautiful as you and I'm not bluffing," Johnny said, throwing his coffee cup away in a nearby trashcan, "I can take you home now if you want me to."

    Whitney

Whitney shook her head. She definitely wasn't in a hurry to get home, where Laura would surely interrogate her and then make her study all night. "I don't have to be home until six," she reminded him. "And I really don't want to go home any sooner than I have to. Is there any place we can go?"

"There's a park nearby, we could go there," Johnny suggested. Whitney nodded in agreement and the two of them headed back to Johnny's car.

The park was a short ten minute drive away from the coffee shop. Since it was nearly dinnertime, it was moderately empty and so Whitney and Johnny were practically alone.

"This is a cute little park," Whitney commented, looking around. She smiled shyly at Johnny. "Thanks for bringing me here."
    Jimmy

Jimmy chuckled softly. "I'm sure I just smell like vodka and beer, but thanks."

He pulled Amanda a little closer, resting his chin on top of her head. She was practically laying on top of him, but Jimmy didn't mind. It had been a long time since he'd actually cuddled with a girl, so this was nice. He'd have to remember to thank Johnny boy for pointing the two girls out this morning.

Jimmy had barely dozed off when Amanda's phone started ringing. He picked it up, noticing the time - almost ten o'clock - and the caller. He shook Amanda. "Hey, your sister is calling," he whispered to her.

Amanda pressed the phone to her ear and Jimmy watched as a look of panic slowly broke through her drunkenness. "Shit okay, I'll be home in fifteen minutes," she said.

    Amanda

"What's wrong?" Jimmy asked as she got up rather quickly and grabbed her purse, "You look paranoid."

"My parents...they are throwing a fury at Whitney for not being with me after school today," Amanda sighed, snatching her phone hastily, "I'm terribly sorry...I don't mean to leave like this. It's just when...my sister is dealing with my parents alone, it doesn't always go well on her stress."

Jimmy glanced at Amanda and smiled sincerely, "I understand, trust me. I'll text you to make sure you are doing okay in a bit, alright? Yes, I am one of those losers that texts a pretty girl before bed and when they come home. My confession."

Amanda smirked slightly and leaned up to kiss his cheek, "Thank you for a great time. I'll go with one of your pals who is less drunk," she winked.

Walking off, Amanda rode in the car with Zack, who drove her home smoothly and at good timing to chat with the parents. Once she said goodbye to Zack and entered the house, the rage was already in.

"Do you know what fucking time it is?!" Amanda's father yelled, getting up in her face rather uncomfortably, "You are drunk and way past curfew! No responsibilities much!?"

Amanda looked over at Whitney crying in the corner, her eyes glancing at Amanda worriedly. Amanda felt the rage at her father build within her. She was not one to take to see her sister cry in fear and emotional distress.

"Back the fuck off and stay away from my sister!" Amanda yelled.

Before she saw it coming, a loud crack filled the room from the result of her father's hand coming in contact with her cheek. She stumbled backwards and fell against the wall from the very harsh hit that she knew she would have an ugly bruise by the next morning.
    Johnny

After driving Whitney home, Johnny couldn't help but smile as he made his way to where his friends were at with their bonfire and possibly more booze. There was already something growing for Whitney from his own emotions and kindness. She seemed very interesting...and he hoped that maybe he could help her be kept company this year by other than her sister.

Pulling up to where his friends were at, Johnny hopped out and took a seat right next to Jimmy, "Hey what's up dude? How did your date go?"

"Shut up short shit, it wasn't a date," Jimmy chuckled, giving a playful punch to Johnny's arm, "And it went good. Man, that girl can drink."

"Yeah and she was all over Jimmy," Brian said with a wiggle of his brows that caused Jimmy to flip him off, "Oh come on, you know you wanted more than a cuddle session."

"Well I'm not a big crude horndog like you Haner," Jimmy said with his tongue stuck out.
