Jimmy rolled up to school in his stalker-esque-looking van, parking in someone's designated parking spot. He hadn't signed up in time to get his own parking spot at the end of last year, but it wasn't like he gave a shit. He should be able to park wherever he wanted; this was a free country, wasn't it?
He let out a heavy sigh as he emerged from his van, slamming the door shut and flinching as he pushed his sunglasses up on his nose. He stumbled towards the front doors that were wide open, welcoming the students back for the first day. It looked more like a horror house that swallowed you whole as soon as you entered. Once the doors were shut, they never opened again. That sort of thing.
But at least he had his friends to carry him through the day. He wouldn't be alone. He stalked inside the building, ignoring the looks he was getting from some of the teachers. He was so obviously hungover, but there was nothing they could do about it. They couldn't prove he was hungover. You know, until he pulled his glasses off. He spotted Matt and Brian, making his way over to them and huffing. "Hey fuckers," he grumbled, leaning against the lockers next to Brian and groaning softly at the soft, constant pounding around his temples and forehead.
Cassie climbed out of her mother's car, waving at her before she walked into school. She was excited for this year. Last year hadn't been the best, what with her grandmother passing and everything. Her Grams had been her best friend for the longest time, since she was a baby, she guessed. Losing her was one of the hardest things she'd had to go through, but she had a new outlook on life, and she had made a promise to herself that from that point on, she'd be more positive and optimistic about things.
She made her way to her locker, fiddling with the combination for a minute or two before finally pulling it open. She opened her backpack and began filling her locker with all the cute little decorations she'd bought the day before with her week's allowance. Once she had her locker decorated to her heart's desire, she smiled and shut the door before wandering off to find the boys.
She'd met the boys through her older sister, who had known this kid Johnny's older brother. Johnny had been hanging around the boys sometime last year with his older brother who had known her sister. She met them sometime around homecoming last year, and once she'd gotten to know the group of guys, she'd instantly fallen in love with all of them. They were all so amazing and different and full of life, and it was just what she needed following her grandmother's death.
She found them and smiled, walking over and standing beside Matt. "Hey guys," she said, shifting her gaze from Matt to Brian and Jimmy, her brows furrowing. "What happened to them?"
Before Matt even had the chance to answer her, the guidance counselor came over. "Sullivan!" she called, forcing him to flinch and sink down the lockers. "Come with me. We have an extracurricular activity for you."
Cassie watched as Jimmy hesitantly followed her before turning to Matt. "Sorry I couldn't make it last night. I had to do some last-minute shopping for school supplies," she said.
