Kate stretched out on the couch that her and Peter were sitting on, putting her feet on his lap. They were watching a movie, some stupid RomCom that was suggested on Netflix. It was about some girl who got cheated on, nothing too special. It did, however, make Kate a little uncomfortable. She didn't want to say she was a bad person, but she wasn't going to say she was a good one either. She'd been with someone, Jake, for four years. Then she met Peter. Now she was with Peter, but she was still with Jake. As far as Jake knew, she wasn't with Peter. As far as Peter knew, she wasn't with Jake. Jake just thought she was off doing whatever, he never was too observant. Peter always got some halfassed explanation as to why she didn't want to tell people they were together. Kate sighed, running a hand through her hair. Since she'd met Peter, any attraction she'd had to Jake pretty much faded away. She still loved him, but not like that anymore. She was kind of stuck where she was, and it was a very shitty time. "Whoever did the costume designing for this movie is awful," Kate commented, trying to keep her mind off of her less that stunning morals. "They've got about as much fashion sense as you."
"Honey, get down off the back of the couch," Bucky insisted, putting his hand on his hip as he looked at his niece. "How many times do I have to tell you not to climb up there. This isn't a jungle gym." His three year old Niece, Samantha, looked at him with a set of puppy dog eyes that would make even the toughest of generals break down and let her do what she wanted to. Bucky sighed and gave his head a shake. "Do you want to go to the park? You can climb there all you want to." This earned him a big smile and a flying leap off the couch. Bucky extended his arms and caught her with a laugh. He placed her on the ground and patted her head, "if you get your shoes on quick, maybe we can see if Elliott'll come with us." The toddler ran off to grab a pair of shoes, and Bucky followed behind her with his hands in his pockets. He hoped Elliott, their neighbor, was home to go with them. It was a better time for both of them.
