Davina walked towards her first class of the day. She sighed as she walked through the doors. She was currently in her second year at college and was now on the verge of getting more into her major classes she needed. She planned to be an English major and hopefully minor in Communications so she could be a journalist once she got out of college. It was the first day back for everyone other than the freshman. Davina walked through the doors and took a seat in the middle of the lecture hall and pulled out her laptop, ready to take notes. Now that it was her seconds year she didn't have to worry about the first day crap that she did last year when she was a freshman. The class she was currently was for Communications and her next class would be for her English before she had her main classes like Math and such. She hated that she had to take Math in college when it wasn't even going to be her major. Although she was excited to be in her first year of French this semester. She looked around as kids started to file in, her eyes locked on a taller boy with shaggy hair and looked like he would be in a band or something. Davina wouldn't lie to herself, he was hot. But she wasn't in college for that. She wouldn't deny herself a few parties now and then, like tonight for instance. There was a welcome back slash welcome party to all the students in someone's dorm floor. Davina was sure she would go for a little while.

Luke walked to his first class with his girlfriend, Danielle, and listened as she talked about her classes for the day. Luke wouldn't lie, he was nervous for his first class of college. He was nervous just to be in college period. But he had already had a plan to be in a frat and he had already met some of the guys from the frat he was looking into. They all seemed pretty chill and they liked Luke and said he had a good shot of making it in. Danielle didn't approve of the whole frat and sorority thing but Luke thought it looked like fun. He had already heard about a party being thrown on campus that night. He was excited for his first college party. He picked a seat in the room next to Danielle and watched the door for people to walk in. Luke kept an eye out for anyone he might think would be cool enough to hang out with or somehow anyone he knew. Danielle continued to chat away in his ear as he pretended to listen.

There wasn't much different after the summer break from school, Ashton noted. It wasn't as though he actually expected anything to change in such a short amount of time, but it would have been interesting if something different had appeared - well, aside from the new students piling in. New faces passed by and he grinned to some, nodded to others and even offered an occasional "Hello!" but, otherwise, he focused on getting to class from the fraternity house that he was staying at. His things had already been moved and settled in there, which was a relief for him since it meant that he wouldn't have to worry about it later today, after classes. Stepping into one of the class buildings, he made sure to avoid bumping into anybody and even came across a few people who were in the fraternity with him and a few friends that he had made the year before. He couldn't linger, though, so he was heading towards his class again before too long. After getting to his designated class, he stepped inside and glanced around in hopes of finding a seat to take.

If there was one thing that Aria was looking forward to, it was definitely college. Not only was she now back home after moving away her senior year of high school, but she could start fresh at college. There was, of course, the likelihood of running into somebody that she knew before, but she tried not to think about that. No, instead, she wanted to concentrate on what was to come. Already, there was supposed to be a party tonight - and, since she had known some of the upperclassmen in high school, she might get a chance at joining a sorority. Though it wasn't typically something that she was overly interested in, it would be a new experience - and, wasn't that what college was meant for, new experiences? Taking a deep breath to calm whatever nerves threatened to rise, she made her way into her first class, only to pause as soon as she entered because she spotted her ex, Luke. Quickly, in hopes of avoiding him seeing her, she ducked her head and made her way to the other side of the classroom to sit.

Davina kept her eyes locked onto the guy before she noticed him looking for a seat in the room. She suddenly felt brave enough to speak, "There's a seat next to me if you want it." She called over to him. Davina usually wasn't the type to talk to new people but she felt a strange urge to talk to him. He seemed cool and completely different than Davina but she was always willing to try something once. And maybe this could be the start of a weird friendship for her to have in this class. She was usually the type to just wait to be introduced to people and get to know them with the more time she was able to spend around them but she figured it was a new year at college and it was time to take things up a notch, "I'm Davina by the way." She said. As he got closer she noticed that he looked a little familiar to her and then recognized that he was in the main frat house on campus and she had seen him with them a lot last year.

Luke was still staring at the door and pretending to listen to Danielle when he felt his heart stop. What the hell was she doing here? At his college. Luke couldn't believe his eyes and noticed her looking around and he quickly looked away so he wasn't caught staring at her. But when he looked back he noticed that she was gone and he looked around to find the back of her figure heading towards the other side of the room from him. Luke couldn't help but feel a little disappointed before he remembered how they ended when she had left. But even now, seeing her in his class, he still couldn't believe that Aria was here. And he wasn't sure if he was ready and willing to go right up and talk to her. Of course there was no way he could do it in front of Danielle, she would get totally jealous because that's how she was. Luke looked over at Aria and stared with wide eyes, not fully comprehending that she was there.

Ashton felt a little relieved when the girl offered to let him sit next to her. "Thanks," he told her with a grin that easily showed off his dimples. Moving to sit down, he set his things down and tugged out his laptop before he looked to the girl. She seemed interesting enough - and, she was pretty at that. Sitting next to a pretty girl the entire semester wouldn't be a bad thing, he decided - well, unless he started getting distracted by her. Hearing her introduce herself, though, his grin broadened and he nodded. "I'm Ashton," he introduced before he held a hand out to her. "It's nice to meet you, Davina. I've seen you around campus before, but I think this is the first time we've ever actually spoken." Though he was generally a nice guy and talked to anybody that he could, even he could get too distracted or too rushed to speak to some people, he realized.

Once she was safely in a seat as far away from Luke as she could manage, Aria allowed herself to breathe a sigh of relief. She couldn't say that she was entirely surprised that he was here, but part of her had figured that he would have gone to college somewhere else - or that she would be lucky enough to avoid having any classes with him or to overall avoid running into him at all. Apparently, her luck was wearing thin - or the world was just out to make her feel bad. After all, she was the one who had ended their relationship when she found out that she would be moving since she didn't want him to have to be bothered with a long-distance relationship. And, now, she was stuck in a class with him. Maybe she could ask about dropping the class, she wasn't entirely sure.

Davina smiled and shook his hand, "Nice to meet you, Ashton." She said before she nodded, "I have also seen you around campus. With the fraternity I believe. Are you a member?" She asked with a grin. Davina could get used to the idea of sitting next to a good looking kid like Ashton but hopefully he didn't distract her. Davina wouldn't live with herself if her grades started to drop because of a guy. She came to college for one thing, to get an education so she could move onto the next step in her life and she didn't need a guy screwing it up. Though she wouldn't admit it aloud but she knew it could be okay to just have a little fun while she was here as long as she didn't screw everything up.

Luke sighed and was thankful that the professor walked in so Danielle could finally stop talking and Luke could have his mind taken elsewhere so he didn't have to think about Aria or his past with her and how that ended. He didn't want to think about how heartbroken he was when she left and the way she broke it off. He was willing to do a long distance relationship for her but she didn't give him the chance and instead broke up with him and moved away. He was still slightly saddened by the thought of the day she left.

Ashton smiled as he let his hand drop and nodded to her question. "Yeah, I am. I hadn't planned on joining in the first place, but when they showed interest in me, I figured I might as well go for it," he told her honestly, though he had started to lower his voice since the professor had walked in. He wasn't sure if Davina was the time to get upset with people talking to her when she was trying to pay attention, though, so he fell quiet entirely after he had finished admitting to being in the fraternity.

The moment the professor came in, Aria let herself focus on what was being said. Since it was the first day, she was sure they wouldn't do much. Syllabi were passed out, the course itself was summarized, things of the like. That was fine with her, but it wasn't as distracting as she had hoped for it to be. Deciding that it didn't matter too much, she wrote down the bit of information that they were given and looked over the syllabus so that she could figure out how to go about preparing for the assignments.

Davina smiled and nodded at his words, she was going to reply before the professor walked in and started to pass out the course outline and started talking about what they should expect with this class. She took an outline when it was passed to her before she passed it to Ashton then looked it over. She was excited about the course and couldn't wait to start it. When the professor gave them a free moment to talk while he set up she quickly pulled out her schedule and handed it to Ashton, "Show me yours. Maybe we will have another class together besides this one. I doubt we will because of majors and all but who knows." Davina said with a smile.

Luke listened as the professor went over how the course was going to be and he looked over the syllabus while he listened to the professor. Since it was the first day he mainly just talked about what they were going to be learning in that course and what to expect with the assignments. He knew that college was a lot different from high school but in some ways they kind of were the same. Thinking about high school made him think about Aria which made him sad so he quickly started to think about the projects they were going to have to do in the class to get his mind off Aria.

After receiving his own course outline, Ashton went ahead to pass the rest of them on to make sure everybody else got theirs. Once they received the free moment, he scanned over his outline before he blinked when he heard Davina speaking to him. Taking her schedule, he nodded. "Alright," he told her before he grinned and moved to pull out his own schedule. Handing it to her, he glanced to hers that was in his hands. "Most majors require some of the same basic classes, though, so we might get lucky." And, if they didn't have any more classes together, at least they had this one, so that was better than nothing, he decided mentally.

Though Aria was trying to pay attention to the professor, it was getting more and more difficult. It wasn't as though anything important seemed to be happening today, though, so it was easy for her mind to wander. Shaking her head quickly, she tried to rid herself of straying thoughts and instead tried to concentrate on keeping up with what the professor was saying - it would be terrible if she let herself get lost on the course from the very first day. Part of her wondered if this would have happened if she hadn't spotted Luke the moment she walked in, though.

Davina scanned through Ashton's schedule when he handed it to her and she smiled slightly when she found the only other class they had together, "You took French?" She asked and looked over at him, raising an eyebrow at him. She had a hard time seeing him taking or even speaking French, "Is it like a misprint or something?" She teased before she handed him back his schedule and smiled. Davina couldn't believe that she had another class with him and that she was even talking to him. This was new to her and she wouldn't lie, she liked it. It made her wonder why she didn't break out of her shell before. Because there wasn't a hot guy to do it for. She thought to herself.

Luke sighed and listened as the professor talked, occasionally zoning out to think about Aria. He didn't know what he was going to do if he didn't get his mind straight. Maybe he could drop the course and take the same one at a different time so he didn't have to be distracted by her. It still hurt him to think about and if he didn't do something soon he wouldn't ever be able to focus in the class with her around. Luke had a hard time doing it in high school when they were together and she was always the only thought on his mind. He remembered how hard it was for him in school after she moved and he never wanted to do any of his work and he almost failed his senior year. He finally pulled himself together in time to pass and make it with a decent GPA before he graduated.

Ashton offered a sheepish smile and a shrug in response. "No, it's not a misprint. Why? Are you taking French, too?" he said, arching an eyebrow as he looked over her schedule. Sure enough, they did share the class. For some reason, that brightened him up even more than usual. Maybe it was because it meant that there was a guarantee that he'd know at least one person in the class - which was always a good thing. Then again, it could just mean that he had a high chance of sitting next to the pretty girl again. "Looks like you are. Lucky us, huh?" He grinned over at her before he held her schedule back out to her. Though he wasn't sure that she would think it was a good thing or that it was even something to consider themselves lucky over, it at least meant that they'd get to spend a bit more time together during the days. Who knows - they could even become good friends or even something more.

The moment they were dismissed, Aria was quick to gather her things. She was about to leave when she got stopped by one of her old friends - who was also one of Luke's friends, Calum. "Aria, hey!" he greeted with a smile as he approached. Glancing behind him, it was obvious that Calum was hoping that Luke hadn't spotted Aria; he knew how hurt Luke had been by the break-up and he was worried what Aria's reappearance might do to his friend. "Hey, Calum," Aria answered with a small nod, "Ah, sorry, but I'm kind of in a rush, so -" Quickly, she tried to maneuver her way around him, but he followed her, staying on the side that would block her from the view of Luke. "Where are you going?" he asked, only for Aria to offer a smile and a shrug. "To get a drop sheet. I'm not really interested in this class," she answered, though she could tell that he didn't buy the last bit.

Davina smiled and nodded before he looked over her schedule and watched as he saw she had French with him as well, "Yeah lucky us. Well at least I will know one person in the class." She said with a smile before looking up at the front of the room as their professor started to talk again. She took notes on her laptop that she thought she needed to keep in mind before he dismissed them for the day. She packed up her laptop and stood, putting her backpack on her back and looking at Ashton, "I have a half hour before my next class. Wanna get something to eat or something? I mean only if you're free." She said and mentally hit herself in the face, what was she doing? She just met him and now she was asking him to get something to eat. She probably sounded like a total stalker. But there was no way Davina was backing down now. It was all in from here.

Luke watched as Calum and Aria walked out of the class and he sighed before he put his arm around Danielle and walked out of the room. He figured he would go get a drop sheet later. Luke knew that Danielle was going to kill him for dropping the only class he had with her but he couldn't do it. There was no way he was going to be able to stay in the class with Aria and not be able to focus. Luke mentally groaned when Danielle instantly starting chatting his ear off again. God woman do you ever shut up? He wanted to ask her but he knew better and kept his mouth shut, acting like he was listening and tried not to look over at Calum and Aria as they passed the two.

Packing up his stuff, Ashton listened to Davina and nodded slightly to her words. "Yeah, sure. I'm free for a little while, too, so I don't mind," he decided with a grin as he stood up and slipped his backpack over his shoulder. Looking to her, he tilted his head to the side and looked down at her. "So, should we go to one of the campus places to eat or just the cafeteria?" he asked - because they couldn't go off campus if she only had a half hour free. That wouldn't give them enough time to go off campus and eat, so they'd have to settle with something on campus - which he didn't really mind, since the small places on the campus to eat at had pretty good food. "I'm buying."

Aria paused in her steps as Luke and some girl passed by them. Though she wasn't sure who the girl was, she could tell that they must be together considering Luke's arm around her shoulders. Calum seemed to notice where Aria's attention was and he nudged her slightly before he leaned over to whisper. "That's Danielle, Luke's -" he started, but Aria sighed out a quiet, "Luke's girlfriend, I can tell." Forcing a smile, she looked to Calum and tilted her head. "You don't have to spare my feelings, Calum. It's not like I expected him to wait for me. I wanted him to move on, remember?" she reminded quietly before she picked up her pace to walk past them and headed towards the office at the end of the hall.

Davina smiles when Ashton said he would go to eat with her, "Somewhere on campus is fine." she said with a grin before she walked out with him and then looked up at him, "So tell me about yourself." Davina requested. She grinned up at him. He was a lot taller than her but it wasn't an ungodly amount.

He pretended to listen before he pulled out his phone and started to scroll through his text messages.

At least they wouldn't have to go far, in that case. It meant that they'd both be back in time for their next classes. "About myself, huh?" he questioned with slight surprise. "Well, is there anything specific that you would like to know about me?"

Aria was quick with getting the drop sheet and, before long, she began the walk again with Calum. "Do you have another class yet?" he asked, though she shook her head. "Not for a little while," she answered him easily.

Davina shrugged as they walked, "Everything." She replied and let out a small laugh. She wanted to get to know him more because now that they had two classes together she could tell they were going to probably end up becoming friends so it was easier to get to know him now than later, "Tell me about your past and why you're here and your likes and dislikes. Just everything." She added with a laugh.

Luke said goodbye to Danielle when she went to her next class before he went back to the office to get a drop form for the class. On his way he stopped when he saw Calum and Aria before he sighed and then noticed the drop sheet in Aria's hand. Luke looked at them again and nodded, "Hey Calum." He said before walking past them, using every ounce of will power he had not to look at Aria or say anything to her.

"Everything, huh?" Ashton asked with a teasing grin as they exited the building and he led the way to one of the campus restaurants. "That's a lot to talk about. We may have to have more than one lunch meeting to go through it all," he joked lightly, though part of him was serious. It wasn't like he would complain to a few lunches with her, after all. "Isn't the guy supposed to ask the girl questions?" he teased.

"Hey, Luke," Calum greeted quickly, though he felt a little bad that his friend had to walk by Aria. He had hoped to manage to keep them out of each other's way, since he knew how much Luke had gotten hurt. Once Luke was passed him, Aria looked over at him and sighed upon realizing Luke had ignored her. "I deserve that," she said honestly before smiling to Calum, "Go hang out with him. I have to go fill out this sheet, anyways."
