Aubree never saw it coming, and why would she? There weren't very many people she despised but Draco had always been one of the few minor exceptions. Needless to say, being paired up with him in potions was practically the end of the world, though that was something that eventually changed. Soon enough, not being able to see him, for obvious reasons, throughout the summer holidays nearly seemed like it wss the end of the world. A complete three-sixty quite clearly, but it was the honest truth, and she was looking forward to seeing him that day.

She was planning on sneaking away from Harry, Ron and Hermione while they all did their fall term shopping in Diagon Alley at some point to see him. Over the course of the summer, she and Draco had been writing to each other in secret. Meeting up today had been planned practically at the start of the summer holidays. One might even argue it had been planned at the end of the spring term, before the holidays even started. It didn't really matter when things had been arranged though. Today was the day. She'd finally be seeing him again after two months of speaking through letters, and Aubree couldn't wait.
For some students, the start of a new school year caused dread to sink in. That had never been the case for Fred though. Where else would he and George try out their latest pranks they'd drawn up, or, more recently, test out one of their new products? Of course, in a way, this year was different. It was the last one, which, arguably enough, almost made it a bit bittersweet in a way. He was still looking forward to it onviously, and though he wouldn't admit it, the idea of being finished with Hogwarts in a few months time was kind of anxiety inducing. He'd have George though, and, of course, one couldn't forget Charlie either. She was his best friend, and he knew that she'd always be there for him and that he could rely on her no matter what. He knew she'd remain a constant in his life. She had since her first year, and while he'd be leaving her behind this year, he knew he'd still have her around.

Charlie sighed as she walked through Diagon Alley with her mum and sister, Blair who was starting her fourth year at Hogwarts. She just wanted to get the shopping over with because she was expected to go to the Burrow that night and surprise Fred and George before they left for Hogwarts tomorrow. Charlie smiled at the thought of the twins. Fred and George had been her best friends since her first year at Hogwarts, their second year. Don't get her wrong, she hated the twins at first because they pulled pranks on her left and right but then it came time for her to get them back and that was the start of their beautiful friendship. She was really sad that they were leaving her after this year but she knew that she would always see them no matter what.

Charlie had been in love with Fred for almost two years. George and Ginny were the only two people that knew. But everyone else at Hogwarts seemed to think the two were already a couple because they were so close and they just acted like it. Charlie always shut down the idea immediately before anyone realized how badly her face would turn red or how uncomfortable she would get with the statement. But still Fred never seemed to get understand. George even dropped hints every now and then but still Fred remained oblivious.

    ---

Draco took a breath as he walked around in boredom at Diagon Alley. He was anxious to see Aubree. It had been a long two months since he had last seen her and the letters weren't cutting it for him. He had never thought he would live the day to where he would say that he was excited to go back to Hogwarts. At least there he could see Aubree, even if it was in secret. He just wished that the trio wouldn't hang around her so much. Then she would have more chances to get to see him. It was weird to him at first, being in a relationship with a muggle-born Gryffindor, but now it seemed just as normal as anything else in his life.

The hardest part was probably the sneaking around. Throughout the summer, Aubree's parents, being muggles, didn't really get suspicious of her constantly writing someone. She'd explained several years back that this was how witches and wizards communicated quite frequently, and she supposed that they just assumed she was writing one of her friends. She knew that it probably wasn't anywhere close to that essay for Draco. If anyone in his family knew that he was writing her, and that they were together, a Malfoy dating a muggle-born, a muggle-born close friends with the trio, it wouldn't end well.

Sneaking around during the school year was a bit more difficult for the couple. Her friends were much more likely to question her and have their suspicions. Aubree knew that Draco sometimes got upset with her because she was spending so much time with them, but she didn't really have a choice. If her friends found out, she highly doubted they would be understanding in the slightest.

"I'm just going to pop into this shop." She announced to the trio as they walked through Diagon Alley. It was time for the annual new school year shop, but she needed to break away from the group so she could see Draco. "Did you want one of us to come with you?" Hermione asked.

Aubree shook her head. "I'll be alright. You lot can go on. I'll catch up in a bit." She told them with a smile.

"Are you su--" Ron cut Hermione off before she could finish her question. "Bloody hell, Hermione. She said she'd be alright. We'll see you in a bit, Aubree." Aubree had to bite her lip to keep from laughing as the trio continued down the street. She could hear Hermione telling Ron off, as per usual. She shook her head, a smile on her face. She entered the shop in case one of them turned back and saw that she hadn't. Now she just had to keep an eye out for a certain blonde...
Fred didn't know that Charlie was visiting that night. She always traveled with him and the rest of the Weasleys to King's Cross each year, but this year she wasn't. For whatever reason, her parents wanted her to go with them and her sister. It was understandable, with You Know Who being back and all, but that didn't mean he was any less bummed about the whole thing. Of course, he'd see her at the station, but it was still different. Plus, with it being his last year, he was kind of hoping to keep the tradition going while he still could.

He didn't let on how bummed about it he was though. He suspected that George could tell though, but he was glad that his twin hadn't said anything about it. It would certainly put him in a bit of a sour mood to say the least.

Of course, he didn't know that Charlie was visiting tonight. It was a surprise, and he would certainly be surprised when it happened and she showed up. It would be a good surprise though, obviously, but for the time being, he was kind of just going through the motions and finishing up his last school shop in Diagon Alley with the others.

Charlie quickly got her books that she needed for the year and some other things before she waited on her sister then finally they were done. The two passed the trio on their way and Charlie waved at them with a smile on her face. She knew she would see Ron later but didn't tell him to keep the surprise under wraps.

Charlie knew that if Ron was here that would mean the twins were as well but she had to keep from looking for them or she might get excited plus they would be a lot more excited to see her tonight if they hadn't seen her earlier in the day. Blair and Charlie left Diagon Alley quickly before meeting their mum at the car and heading back home. Charlie had to pack her books and then she was all ready to leave for the Weasley's. Too bad she still had a few hours before the surprise.

    ---

Draco walked around Diagon Alley and scowled when he saw the trio but perked up a little when he noticed that they were just that, a trio. He knew that Aubree must be close then so he walked down the street and passed the three like it was nothing, which took a lot of will power, then looked in the windows of all the shops in case he saw Aubree.

This summer had been hell for him because of not getting to see her and writing to her in secret. His parents almost found out once or twice but he was able to cover up his tracks well enough. They didn't get suspicious after that and he was thankful. Draco wasn't a huge fan of lying to his parents but he would do anything for Aubree and if they found out he was in a relationship with her, there would be chaos.

Aubree knew that keeping her relationship with Draco under wraps was entirely necessary, but that didn't make it any easier for her. She didn't like keeping things from her friends or her family, and while she knew her parents knew very little about the wizarding world, and they understood very little about blood status and the pressing issue behind it, she knew that her friends wouldn't exactly be very kean on her being with Draco of all people. He was different with her though, and she hoped that, if the truth were to ever come out, and evidently it would eventually, her friends would st least see that he made her happy.

She roamed around the shop she'd used as an excuse to break away from the trio for a bit. Though, when she glanced out the window, a smile formed on her face when she spotted a figure with blonde hair walking past the shop. She waited a few moments, wanting to use the element of surprise to her advantage, before walking out and coming up behind him. "Guess who." She said, covering his eyes with her hands.
[Did you want to skip for Fred and Charlie so she can surprise him at the Burrow?]

    (Yeah we could that's fine)

    ---

Draco was in the process of walking down the street looking for Aubree when he felt two hands cover his eyes and he heard her voice. He smiled, "It's clearly Goyle." He teased before he removed her hands and smiled as he turned around to face her. Draco pulled her in close for a hug, "I've missed you." He said happily as he hugged her.

Seeing her face for the first time in two months made him so happy and he couldn't even think what he would have had to do if they hadn't came up with the plan to meet at Diagon Alley. Draco took her hand and pulled her down a side street before he smiled down at her, thankful they were now alone. He just couldn't believe that he felt so strongly for the girl when only a year ago he hated her.

Aubree let out a quiet laugh in response to his words and gave a slight roll of her eyes. "Haha, very funny." She said, a bit of sarcasm behind her words. She was honestlu so happy to see him, the last two months had been horrible. It was instances like that when she wished that they didn't need to keep their relationship a secret. She knew that it was for the best, and that Draco insisted on it partially with her safety in mind, but that didn't make the whole situation any easier. Not even by a longshot.

"I missed you too." She murmured softly as she hugged him back, resting her cheek against his shoulder. She was glad for this opportunity to see him before they went back to school the following day. It was a lot harder, sneaking around, when they were there. For one thing, she couldn't get away from the trio as easily there, there weren't many places she could claim to be going and that meant fewer excuses as well. They would figure things out though, they had last year and they would this year too.
Fred had gotten the last of his books at Diagon Alley, and the rest of the Weasley clan, plus a few extras, had finished their back to school shopping as well. It was still honestly strange to think that this was going to be his last year. It didn't seem as though six years had gone by since he started at Hogwarts, and he was certain that the next year was going to fly by and he'd be finished before he knew it.

He was still pretty bumned that Charlie couldn't be there though. It was strange not having her around, though he understood where her parents were coming from. The wizarding world wasn't the same or as safe as it once had been. He was certain that, if things continued on as they were that attendance at Hogwarts would decrease significantly. He thought it was a fairly safe establishment, but he wasn't so sure that everyone did.

Charlie had finally finished packing and smiled to herself before realizing she had forgotten the teddy bear that Fred had gotten her in her third year. She looked on her bed and didn't see it. She needed to find it or else she wouldn't be able to sleep, "Mum have you seen Eggsy?" She called out her room and down the stairs. Charlie heard a faint response that sounded like a no and figured her mum must be in the cellar. Charlie sighed before almost throwing her room apart looking for it. She reached under her bed and felt it, "There you are you bugger." She said and put him in her trunk before lugging it downstairs.

Charlie met her mum at the fireplace and quickly said her goodbyes to her and her dad before looking at Blair, "I'll see you tomorrow." She said with a smile. She knew she wouldn't end up seeing her parents at Kings Cross so she always said goodbye before she went to the Weasley's. Charlie put her trunk in the fireplace with her and grabbed a hand of floo powder before throwing it down and yelling, "The Burrow!" and the next thing she knew that's where she was. She smiled as she walked out of their fireplace with her trunk, "Anyone home?!" She called out with a huge grin on her face.

    ---

Draco smiled at her, "Have you got everything you need for tomorrow then?" He asked. He leaned against the wall, blocking her from the view where people would be able to see who he was talking to, should they look down and notice him. Draco hated that he had to hide their relationship from the world and wanted more than anything to be able to scream from the top of the astronomy tower at Hogwarts that they were together but sadly, things didn't work out like that for him.

Draco took in her appearance and he smiled slightly. She looked different from the end of the spring term. Her hair was longer and she looked slightly tanner. He wouldn't admit it aloud but there was a special sparkle in her eye he hoped was from seeing him for the first time in two months. Overall she still looked beautiful.

"More or less." Aubree said, punctuating her words with a shrug of her shoulders. She knew that he didn't want to keep their relationship a secret any less than she did. Neither of them really had a choice though, and sneaking around, even being in this relationship, was dangerous. There was no way that they could openly be in a relationship. It just wasn't possible. Not with how his family was and certainly not now that Voldemort was back. It was simply too dangerous.

She couldn't help smiling when she saw him smiling down at her. "What?" She asked quietly, her smile almost taking on a shy turn. She definitely gotten to see a side of Draco that most people didn't. He was sweet and caring. He was just different with her. She could only hope that, if the secret ever did get out, her friends would be able to understand that.
It was quite apparent to pretty much everyone in the Burrow that Fred was in a rather sour mood. He couldn't help it though. He just felt like a tradition was being broken with Charlie not being therw. Every summer since she had become friends with him and George, without a fail, she was there the night before they left to start the new school year. And now she wasn't, and it just felt really strange. He didn't like it at all.

"You know, we're still going to see her on the train, right?" George said to him. He was the only one willing to say anything to Fred and more or less address the issue at hand. Everyone else was just kind of giving him some space or avoiding him as best as they could. "It's not the same." Fred mumbled. Before he could say anything else, he heard someone shouting from downstairs. It sounded like Charlie. He and George exchanged a brief glance before Fred was bolting down the stairs to see if the petite blonde was actually there.

Charlie looked over when Molly walked into the room and smiled, hugging her tightly, "Good to see you Mrs. Weasley." Charlie said with a smile. Molly was the only one besides Charlie's family that knew of the surprise. Charlie looked over towards the stairs when she heard them booming with footsteps. She smiled widely when she saw Fred and George before running over and hugging George. When she pulled away she practically threw herself onto Fred and hugged him tightly.

"We thought you weren't coming." George stated. Charlie pulled away and raised her eyebrows, "Do you really think I would break our tradition on your last year?" She questioned with a smile. "Well it's good that you're here. Now Fred can get out of his sour mood." Ron said as he walked down the stairs. Charlie hugged him before she felt her heart flutter at Ron's words then looked at Fred, "Awe Freddie don't worry I would never bail on our tradition." She said and hugged him again tightly with a smile.

    ---

Draco laughed at her words, "I wish I could go with you to get your things." He said. He just wanted to be able to spend more time with her and if that meant shopping for school supplies than he would do it no matter what. But Draco knew he couldn't and it angered him that he couldn't but at the same time he knew it was for the best.

Draco shrugged in response, "I've just missed you is all." He said before he leaned down and kissed her cheek and pulled back with a smile. Every day this summer he had been thinking about this day and finally getting to see Aubree again and now that he had he was more than excited. He was thrilled even. Draco had missed her that much.

"It's alright, I don't have much left to get." She assured him. She wished that he could come with her too, but they both knew that this was for the best. The sneaking around honestly just meant that she really looked forward to, and cherished, the time that they actually spent together. It made it all worth while in the end. She thought so anyway.

His later words and actions caused her to smile. "I've missed you too." She said quietly, touching his cheek lightly. She was really glad that she got to see him today, and also that everything worked in their favor so that they could see each other. "How long do you reckon we have before someone starts looking for one of us?" She knew that the trio would start looking for her soon, and she knew that he hadn't come here alone either. That God awful Pansy Parkinson was probably here along with both Crabbe and Goyle.
Fred was definitely taken by surprise when he ran down the stairs and saw Charlie there with his mum. He didn't know why he was so surprised, she'd tricked him with things before, but she'd had him so convinced that she wouldn't be able to make it and he'd really believed her. It was just such a convincing argument. He was silent until she practically threw herself at him, and he caught her, hugging her tightly. "I wasn't in a sour mood." He argued as he pulled back, watching as Charlie went to hug Ron.

"You kind of were." George agreed with their younger brother, causing Fred to frown. "I was not!" However, before he could say anything else, she was hugging him again. "I wasn't in a sour mood." He mumbled to her as he hugged her back.

Charlie laughed at his words, "Sure you weren't, Freddie." She teased and she poked at his cheeks. Soon Ginny had come down the stairs to greet Charlie and Charlie smiled. She treated Ginny as if she were also Charlie's younger sister along with Blair. Charlie looked back at Fred, "So are you going to carry my trunk up to your room or not?" She asked with a raise of her eyebrows.

Every time that Charlie spent the night at the Burrow before they left for Hogwarts she always slept in Fred and George's room so the three of them could plan out their pranks for the year and the new products that the twins had invented. Charlie couldn't wait to see the day when the twins owned their own joke shop like they had always wanted to. Charlie had promised them once she was out of Hogwarts she would help every now and then but she had always wanted to work for the Daily Prophet so she would probably get a job there as well.

    ---

Draco smiled when she said she had missed him as well. He shrugged at her following question, "Probably soon. I told Goyle and Crabbe I wouldn't be gone long. And I'm sure by now the trio has noticed you're spending a lot of time in a shop." He said sadly. He didn't want anyone to come look for them because all he wanted to do was spend time with Aubree.

"We should probably make the most of this time before we are forced to leave and then have to endure the long train ride back to Hogwarts in which I won't get to sit in the same cart as you." Draco said with a smile as he looked down at her. He was not looking forward to the train ride back and he just wished that he would be able to snap his fingers and he would be there, with Aubree.

Aubree nodded, a small frown gracing her lips. She knew that he was right, though she wished that he wasn't. She wanted to spend more time with him seeing as it would be much more difficult to sneak around on the train the following day. In fact, it was extremely unlikely. "You'll be in the prefects carriage most of the way, I assume?" She asked. Ron and Hermione had both been made prefects as well, so it would just be her and Harry. She didn't mind, though she had a feeling that Harry was beginning to grow suspicious. Ron was completely clueless, and, for whatever reason, Hermione didn't seem to suspect a thing. If Harry were to find out, he'd probably blow the whole thing out of proportion.

"You're right." She said, nodding her head in agreement. All they could really do was make the best of the time that they had right now. It wasn't much, but it was something, and that was what mattered.
Fred swatted her hands away from his face, pulling away as Ginny came down the stairs. The only person who didn't seem surprised that Charlie was there was his mum. That honestly didn't surprise him though. Charlie had probably asked her to go along with it when she told him and George that she wouldn't be able to stay over at the Burrow like she normally did every year. To be fair, she'd been extremely convincing. He thought so anyway, and apparently so had everyone else.

"I didn't want to insult you by assuming you were in need of assistance." He said smartly, a slight grin on his face. He was clearly in a much better mood now than he'd been in earlier. He was just really glad that she was here now and that their tradition was still, well, a tradition.

"I'm not in need of any assistance. I can do it myself. But I would much rather watch you try and lug it up the stairs." She teased and stuck her tongue out at him before she motioned to her trunk, "Go ahead. I feel like you won't make it the entire way up." She added before she looked over at George, who had his eyebrows raised at her then looked over at Fred, "Go on then Freddie. Show her wrong." He egged on his brother with a grin.

Charlie laughed at George's words before nodding and then looking over at Ron and Ginny, who seemed to be watching in amusement. Molly had gone back to finish making dinner. Charlie smiled to herself, this felt like home to her besides her actual home. Don't get her wrong she loved Hogwarts so much but if she could just have the night before she left for there all the time then she would do it.

    ---

Draco nodded, "I will." He replied, "Maybe we could meet up after dinner." He suggested and smiled hopefully. Draco didn't want to go his first night without seeing Aubree even if he had seen her today. It would have been so hard to see her at the Great Hall and then not be able to talk to her. It would practically kill him.

Draco smiled at her words before he took her hand in his, "I'm really glad we don't hate each other anymore." He said with a grin as he looked down at her and winked.
