Audrey nodded in agreement at his words. It wasn't like the two were going to move in and get married or anything, they just needed to be able to stand each other and raise a child together. Audrey was sure they could do it, "I am going to tell my family tonight. I figured we could tell the group last this way we can do it together." Audrey suggested. She knew that their group of friends were going to freak out over this news. It wasn't a big secret that Dan and Audrey didn't like each other, and so it was going to throw off everyone when they find out that the two had slept together. Audrey sighed lightly before she ran a hand through her hair. She wasn't sure she was ready to be a mother right now, but she wasn't giving up this baby. The thought of the band and Dan going on tour hadn't even crossed her mind yet, but she knew she would probably have a panic attack when she thought about it finally.

Josh raised an eyebrow when Charlotte spoke to him. She clearly had loosened up enough to talk, and Josh was hoping that he could get there as well, "This bar or Weybridge?" He joked with a small smile on his face. Maybe they could do this after all. It would just take some alcohol to get them to finally talk to each other. It had been so long since they had decided to break up, and you would think in that time they would have moved on so it wouldn't be awkward, but it was still really awkward for Josh because he had never really gotten over Charlotte, and he wasn't sure that he ever would. They truly had something special, but the distance was just so much that it was just better if they had ended things to spare each other the eventual heartbreak that would come if they stayed together over that amount of distance.

"Both honestly." Charlotte said, offering a small smile. "I shouldn't be surprised though, things never seem to change here." Except the people living there sometimes. She didn't like the idea that she needed to have alcohol in her system in order to talk to him, talking had always been so easy for them and if there was anyone she felt that she could always go talk to it was Josh, but things were likely going to be weird between them for a while. She got that, but it still didn't mean she necessarily had to like it. Truthfully, she'd never really gotten over him. Yes, she'd dated other guys throughout college, but things just never felt the same that they had with Josh. "How've you been?" She finally asked after a few beats of silence.

Fuck. Dan was going to have to tell his family. He didn't know how well that was going to go over, but he almost felt like it would go over better than telling their friends. Mainly because the group all knew that they couldn't stand each other, and it would be quite the shock to them when they discovered that they were having a kid together. Not that it wasn't a shock for he and Audrey as well, because it certainly was a shock, but there wasn't much they could do about it now except to come to terms about it. Dan wasn't going to be one of those low-life fathers who didn't give a shit about his kid. He and Audrey would learn to coexist, and they'd figure all of this out, and there was nothing else to it really. "That's probably for the best." He said with a nod. "That's definitely going to be an interesting conversation."

If Audrey was being completely honest with herself, she knew that she was more scared to tell their friends than she was to tell her family despite the fact that her family was probably going to flip shit. The night was only supposed to be a one-time thing because they were both drunk, and Audrey wouldn't admit it aloud or ever acknowledge that it was true, but it had been amazing sex despite them both being drunk, "Oh they're going to go mad." She agreed with a small laugh. She ran a hand through her hair as she sat back on the couch, "It just so happens that I'm having dinner with my parents and siblings tonight, so I'll probably just tell them tonight." Audrey stated. She came from a slightly bigger family. She had two older brothers and a younger sister. She knew her brothers were probably going to want to kill Dan, and her sister was probably going to just be excited to be an aunt.

Josh nodded slightly at her words, "Yeah, but it's nice to come back home to after being away for so long." Josh loved coming home after being on tour. He missed everything about his home when he was away, and he always wanted to go back to it. When she asked how he was, he smiled lightly, "I've been good." It was only a partial lie. When he wasn't thinking about her, he was great, but if he was thinking about her, he was a hopeless mess. It was going to take a long time to get over her. They had known each other for forever. Just going from being so close to almost nothing at all was a hard hit on Josh, and he hadn't really recovered from it yet, "What about you?"

Charlotte nodded. She could understand where he was coming from, and was kind of nice to have some semblance of familiarity, even though she'd grown accustomed to, and even felt more at home in Boston now than she did in Weybridge. But she wasn't going to acknowledge that fact right now, not fully anyway. It was strange, but while there was a sense of familiarity now that she was back in Weybridge, it felt sort of foreign to her at the same time. "I can't really complain too much." She said. Even though I missed the fuck out of you, whether I care to admit it or not. "Been keeping busy." So that I don't think about you as often as I could be.

Dan could only imagine how this all was going to go down when they told their friends the news. "Beyond mad." He agreed. He was going to have to tell his family soon as well, but he had a feeling that their friend's reactions were going to be a bit more insane than his family's would be. They were all going to go absolutely insane and flip the fuck out when they told them. Partially because it would catch them all totally off guard. At least he figured it would anyway. His eyebrows rose in surprise in response to her later words. "You're going to tell your family tonight?"

Audrey nodded at her words, "I mean what other time should I tell them? I'm gonna start showing soon, and I guess now would be the best time as any." She explained. Audrey was beyond nervous to tell her family, but she knew that not telling them would be even worse, "If you want you are more than welcome to come to dinner with me tonight. I would totally understand if you don't feel comfortable coming, I just wanted to ask and make sure because we both did kind of do this." She said with a small laugh as she pulled out her phone to check the time. She should get to her parents soon, but it was okay if she was a little bit late. Her brothers and father would probably be watching a footy game anyway and dinner would be pushed back.

Josh nodded at her words, "You're still in Boston right?" He questioned knowing damn well that's exactly where she was. Josh still followed her social media accounts, and he made sure to keep up despite not wanting to. He just couldn't help himself. He wanted to make sure that she was okay and that she was happy because, despite the fact that they had ended things, he still wanted her to be happy with her decision to go to Boston, "What's it like there?" He asked. He had been there maybe once for a tour with the lads, but they usually tried to stay over on their side of the pond when it came to touring.

Charlotte nodded. "Yea, I fell in love with the city when I started school, and I couldn't bring myself to leave once I graduated." She said. She knew if she returned to Weybridge after university, she'd just find constant reminders of him, and she couldn't bring herself to deal with any of that. She knew that she'd sort of fucked things up between them, Josh had wanted to try to make the distance work, but she hadn't been nearly as willing, and that was why she'd been so nervous about coming back for her sister's wedding. She knew she'd see him, that much was obvious, and she didn't know what to expect out of it. "It's a city, but it's got a lot of history to it. There are a lot of more modern parts to it, but there are also a lot of more historic areas too. And Autumn is beautiful there. I think that's when I realized I'd fallen in love with it there my freshman year."

Dan nodded. She was right. She really shouldn't hold off for too long on telling her family. It would become fairly obvious soon enough, and she was better off telling them before they figured it out for themselves. He really doubted that it would go over well if that was how her family found out. They probably wouldn't like him very much if that were how she went about it. "I'll come with you." He said. "I'm bound to meet your family eventually, aren't I? And it's probably better that I'm there when you tell them any way so that they know who I am rather than me just being some random no-faced bloke that knocked you up."

Audrey nodded slightly at his words, "That's definitely true. I mean if we don't tell them until dinner, you'll have a really good chance at making a good impression with my brothers, and maybe they'll already like you too much to hate you." She suggested with a small smile. She knew that her brothers were more than likely going to freak out, and her mother would be disappointed if she didn't faint first. Her father might disown her, but this had happened and now they had to live with the consequences, "Who knows? Maybe this will be okay. Maybe it will go over well. Maybe they won't kill me." She said hesitantly.

Josh listened as she spoke about how much she loved the city. He could really tell that she loved it there, and he was almost envious because the city had stolen her from him and he wasn't able to get her back. He really wanted to try for the distance relationship, but she just didn't want to put him through that, and looking back at it now he can understand why she did it, but at the time he had been absolutely distraught, and he moped for weeks on end. It took him a long time to pull himself out of it, but he knew that he would never really get out of it if he was being honest with himself. Charlotte was someone that wasn't easily given up, and Josh had to find that out the hard way.

Charlotte really did love Boston. If she didn’t, she would have likely returned to Weybridge once she finished school. She simply couldn’t bring herself to leave the city that had become home to her though, and she’d really set down some roots there, even if it wasn’t in the way many people her age were starting to. Look at her sister and Max for instance. They were getting married. Her little sister was getting married. She still couldn’t fully wrap her head around the idea yet, and she knew it wasn’t really going to hit her fully until the day of the wedding or during the reception or something. That was just sort of how she was though. A lot of things didn’t really hit her until she was actually living in that very moment. “I honestly never expected to love it there as much as I do.” She said. “I don’t think my family did either though. My mum was rather surprised when I called and told her I was staying after graduation.”

Dan nodded. “Exactly, and I kind of do want to make a good impression. They are your family after all.” He said with a slight laugh. He knew that it was going to be a nerve-wracking situation. He couldn’t imagine a situation where it wouldn’t be, but knowing that they’d be relaying the news to her family after dinner was going to make it all the more nerve-wracking for him and, although he and Audrey weren’t exactly close, he wanted her family to like him. “I don’t think they’ll kill you. If they’re going to be upset with anyone, it’s probably going to be me. I wouldn’t worry too much about them being upset with you.” He said, hoping that he was helping at least a little bit but also feeling as though he really wasn’t.

Audrey smiled lightly at his words before she laughed lightly, "Well they'll definitely have a weird reaction." She stated before laughing once more, "My sister and mum definitely know who you are. I've complained about you enough. So, let's see how that goes over with them." She joked and shook her head. It was no secret to her sister and mum that she and Dan did not like each other. Audrey complained about Dan to those two on a regular basis and had been since she first met him. She was sure that her mum and sister were going to flip out over the mere fact that she was even bringing Dan home to meet them. Ashlyn had been the subject of many calls after Dan had pissed her off, and she knew that there was a lecture in her future from her younger sister.

Josh nodded at her words, "I think we were all a bit surprised, honestly." He replied before he took a sip of her beer. Josh had been so devastated when he had found out that she was staying in Boston because it had set in stone the fact that the two were over and there was no chance of them getting back together. He was so destroyed when he found out. The lads had been worried about him for a few days when everything had gone down, but he eventually got over it, somewhat, and didn't focus too much on it much anymore, "Do you think you'll ever come back?" He questioned as he glanced over at her.

Elizabeth sipped her drink and didn't respond to his earlier words. She knew that he'd still wanted to try to make the long distance thing work, he hadn't given up on them the way that she had, and that was why she'd been dreading her sister's wedding as bad as that probably sounded. She was happy for her and Max, but she knew that Josh was going to be there, and they hadn't exactly spoken to each other since she broke things off a couple of years ago. "I don't know, honestly. I've set down roots there..." Her lower lip caught between her teeth. "I mean I have friends over there now...and a dog..." She'd had friends and family here in Weybridge though too, so she knew that her argument wasn't exactly a valid one. It wasn't like she had anyone special waiting back in Boston for her. She wasn't seeing anyone currently, hadn't really had anything too long-term going on since she broke things off with Josh, but she wasn't about to tell him that.

Dan laughed at her words. "Oh God, you probably made me sound like a complete wanker. If they don't hate me when they find out, then they probably already do." He shook his head. He hoped that her family would like him. He knew that they weren't exactly together or anything, but they were going to at least try to be friends for the sake of the baby, which likely meant he'd be seeing a lot of her family. It would just be plain awkward if they really did think he was a wanker and didn't like him. Holidays would be bloody fantastic. "I'm sure you've given your mum and sister an earful about me."

Audrey let out a small laugh before it dawned on her that the two were actually being civil and joking around. Maybe this won't be as bad as I thought She knew she shouldn't be so enthusiastic just yet because this was her and Dan she was talking about and there is bound to be a big fight to come soon, "I mean they don't think you're a total wanker." She said with a laugh, "But they've definitely been on the receiving end of a lot of phone calls about you." She explained. Audrey knew that Ashlyn and her mother were going to give her a lecture as soon as she walked through the door with Dan, "The dinner is soon, so we should probably head out. I have to run back to my flat and change if that's okay. I kind of didn't plan my outfit before I came over here since I was in a bit of a panic."

Josh raised his eyebrows at Charlotte's words but decided not to comment on the fact that she had friends in Weybridge too. He just focused on trying to not have an argument in front of everyone, "What kind of dog do you have?" He asked curiously. He had his dog Harley, and Harley was the only one he needed for the time being, despite his want to have Charlotte back. Josh knew that there was a very slim possibility that Charlotte would ever come back to Weybridge, but he knew that part of him still had hope maybe one day she would, and they could finally make things works again like they once did. He had been told numerous times by the lads that he should move on, and for a point he did, but that experience only made him realize that he still wasn't over Charlotte despite the time that had passed since they had broken up.
