Avery chuckled at his version of a promise ring. She shook her head. "No no." she took his hand. "I guess a better way of saying it would be to call it an eternity ring. It would be more like an engagement or wedding ring status. It just promises us to each other. I know it's silly but I want everyone, human or wolf to know I am yours." she said. "We won't be waiting till marriage Jake don't you worry." she knew the likelihood of marriage nowadays at least the old official way was well slim to none on a good day. Besides to her marriage needed to evolve. Marriage should be done by the leader of the group surrounded by people you love and it should be just as binding as it was before. Besides they didn't have law and they didn't have religion which was the basis for marriage, what they did have where leaders, community and loved ones. That was what a marriage should be to her but she wasn't looking for that right now. It was enough to be mated to him but the ring was just something special for her. "It's just a silly trinket. It would make me feel special I guess and I don't want you getting hurt to find one but if you happen upon one then I guess that would be special to me. You could even make one out of wood." Avery said hoping he understood now. She chuckled as he told her about the need for matting. She had a feeling they would be rolled up into bed for a while. When he said he had him and placed her hands on his chest she laughed happily her eyes wild with joy. "Oh yes I do." she said and kissed him deeply. She loved Jake so much.
Haden's head snapped up hearing Penny. When she shared the sent he dropped what was in his hands and shifted with a growl and barreled out of the camp. Leo, Char, Kyle on me Haden wanted his pack on this asshole and if he revealed them all it didn't mater this was Laney. Penny return to camp and tell Jake and Avery but keep them there. I don't want a hurt wolf in my way. Haden commanded and though he sounded rough it was his way of keeping them all safe. Haden was not waiting for them all and was running at his full speed pushing it actually. When he caught the sent of blood he growled and dug his claws into the dirt and sent out a howl.

"Do I have to wait till I get you a ring?" He teased her, before burring his face in her neck, placing kissed all over her skin. He knew that once the sun came up tomorrow he'd have to go back to his pack duties. That meant he'd have less time for Avery. He'd have to make it up to his pack members, it was only fair. "I love you," he whispered out on her skin, before nipping her ear with his teeth. He knew he was horny and she was so addictive. The images of last night playing over and over in his mind. Pulling back from he quickly, like he'd be shocked, he frowned. "Penny's on her way up." He said, he could hear her thoughts as she pleaded with Jake to listen and stay for Avery's sake. "It's not good." He told her, before rubbing her arms. "It's Laney." He said, as the door opened.

"Look I don't know all the details but it seems like a wolf has taken off with Laney." She breathed out, she knew that Jake had already warned Avery it was bad, and she wasn't about to prolong her anguish. She needed to know what was happening to her sister. "The pack has gone to help Haden bring her home." She said to Avery. "I'm here to protect you and Jake, so please stay calm and stay here." She turned and went back outside she transformed into her wolf form before pacing around the house they were in. She knew that they weren't in danger but it was better to be safe than sorry.

"Baby." Jake whispered rubbing her arm, he didn't know how bad it was and didn't know how to soothe her. He just knew that he wasn't allowing her to leave his side.
Laney groaned her body thrashing around as the pain started to become unbearable. After her earlier struggle with Luke, he'd elbowed her in the ribs freeing himself. After that he made sure that she couldn't fight him any more. Tying her to the tree he made sure that her body was bond so she couldn't move. He'd ended up ripping her shirt from her body. She could feel the rope cutting into her skin as she thrashed, it only added to the pain she felt from the transformation. She'd never talked to anyone, about what really happened when a wolf bite started the transformation. "It hurts doesn't." Luke whispered out, before gently rubbing his hand up her side. "It's all worth it in the end baby." He told her before leaning in a pressing a kiss to her shoulder, letting his hands roam over her body. "Stop." She growled out, anger coursing through her and she felt her body heating up with it. "Get your fucking hands off me." She snapped at him before head butting him. She wasn't about to let him touch her no matter how much pain she was in. "I'll break that spirit yet." He smirked before caressing her face. Stepping back he took in the exposed flesh, he could tell she was fighting against the pain very well. But something seemed off with her, it was like she fighting him more. Laney let out a groan before a scream ripped from her body. Luke smirked knowing that she didn't have much longer before her wolf would emerge.

Avery giggled and shook her head no. She knew they weren't the easiest things to find and she didn't want just anything she wanted something he thought was special enough for her. Avery moaned softly as he kissed over her neck and she gasped as he nipped her ear. "I-I love you too." she said. When Jake pulled back she looked up at him confused. She was feeling hot but when he looked at her worried she stoped thinking worry setting in. "Jake..." she whimpered. He told her Penny was coming and he told her it was bad and it was her sister. She frowned and stood. Penny came in and told her what they knew. She frowned and shook her head. "No this can't be happening." she said and Penny left to guard them and she turned on Jake. "I am just suppose to sit here when my sister needs me? She was suppose to be safe here Jake!" she said and started to pace pulling her hand through her hair. "Do we even know if it was one wolf or more? Wolves normally move in packs right!" she asked and looked at him tears threatening in her eyes.
Haden had Kyle and Char check the area for more of the pack and he had Leo watch out for traps and ambushes as he came into the makeshift camp where Luke had Laney tied up and half naked. He didn't make a sound until he snarled and took Luke down away from Laney throwing his body away from her as he positioned himself between them. He could feel something happening inside Laney and he glanced at her and frowned. She was in so much pain. She was fighting... His eyes landed on the bite on her leg and he was suddenly pissed. The bastard had changed her without her consent and she was going to go through he most painful turn. He yelped as Luke in wolf form knocked him to the ground his teeth in his side. Haden thrashed as he used his superior power to take over the wolf. The wolf was not a full alpha like himself but he wasn't obedient enough to be a beta. This was a loner wolf. He hated the kind they where usually the worst kind because they didn't fit in the system. He used his alpha to reach Luke on a deeper level than the wolf had probably ever felt before. It startled him just enough to give Haden the opportunity to pin him to the ground. He slipped at the other wolf and then snapped at him. Luke yelped and whimpered until Haden flinched feeling Laney's pain. Luke took the opportunity to pin down Haden. It was then Leo jumped in and tossed Luke off his alpha. Haden then took Luke by the neck and he and Leo went into the woods out of sight and tore Luke to pieces. Haden came back over to Laney and slashed the ropes and looked dup at her worriedly as she fell into him. He wanted to comfort her but she was still fighting as scared as she had been with Luke. Haden stepped back so she could get a look at him then he bowed his head knowing it was time and he shifted before her eyes. "Laney..." he knelt down in front of her. "Let me get you back to camp you need to rest the change will take over soon and it won't be pleasant." he said softly his eyes in pain. "You can hate me later for not telling you sooner and for lying to you but please let me take care of you." he whimpered.

Jake frowned hearing they didn't have any knowledge, standing he moved to her. "Baby." He whispered before wrapping his arms around her. "I know it's hard," he rubbed his hand up her back. "I'm sorry baby." He knew this was partly his fault. The wolf attacked knowing they were down one. "It's my fault, if I wasn't hurt this wouldn't be happening." His mind wondering over the events of the last week or so. How Avery had almost been attacked by a wolf, him getting hurt in the process. He couldn't help but wonder if they weren't working together. Taking him out would be the prefect time for any attack on their group. Sighing he tucked his head into her hair, he wanted to take all her worry and pain away. Holding her close to his chest, he reached out to his pack trying to find out what was going on. Please any update. He pleaded with anyone, hoping he could soothe his mate with knowledge of her sisters condition.
Laney gasped watching as a giant wolf threw Luke to the ground, moving in between them. Something in her told her not to be afraid, but she was half naked and tied to a tree. Watching the scene unfold in front of her. Feeling pain shoot through her body she cried out, closing her eyes to the pain. Blackness taking over her world as she felt a burning ripping through her body. Feeling the support of the ropes disappearing she sank to the ground. Cuddling into herself she opened her eyes. A giant wolf stood in front of her, shrinking back into the tree. Her eyes widened as soon the wolf turned into Haden. Relief filled her before anger coursed her body, he'd lied to her. Glaring at him she slumped back feeling pain she couldn't focus her anger through the pain. It was pointless for her to fight him she wasn't in any condition to. She needed rest and to let the transformation take over, she was too weak to argue. Closing her eyes she slumped against the tree a slowly started to fall asleep.

Haden picked up Laney and clutched her to his naked body as he walked back towards home. He frowned and was grateful when Char handed him some cloths. He pulled on the pants then pulled the shirt over laney. Until she shifted she would be more comfortable in cloths. Right before the last blow that ended Luke's life he realized he could never mate with Laney. Luke had looked at Haden saying, "You are her mate." Haden had no problems putting rough wolves down. That was his right as an alpha of a good pack. Not to mention Luke had been on his territory. They had made it big enough that they wouldn't have accidental visitors. It was Haden's right to protect his pack, his land and his mate. Haden sighed and heard Jake. Laney has been bitten. She will be fine. Haden hoped to sooth Avery feeling her anxiety by what it did to Jake. Already their matting was a strong bond between them. The bond took hold differently between mates. His and Laney's had been physical and now that she would be a wolf it would be stronger which would confuse her and be difficult for him. He kissed Laney's head. She would need him and her sister to get through this.
Avery looked up at Jake and frowned. "Why would you say that?" she asked him frowning. "None of this is your fault. You aren't the one that has my sister, you aren't to blame for this Jake so stop blaming yourself for what you don't own. She sighed and settled into his chest worrying about her sister. Here she was in the arms of the man she loved, safe when she probably should have been out with Laney like she use to do when she could. Laney hardly ever went completely alone and Avery wished she hadn't she wanted her sister home safe. Avery sighed and hid her face in Jake's chest.

Jake listened to her basically scold him, he knew he was reading to much into it but he couldn't help it, her worry was rubbing off on him. "I know but I feel like if I wasn't stuffed in here she wouldn't have been alone out there." He sighed, before rubbing his hand down her back. He just wanted to hold her and shrivel up. A firm voice rang out in his head and he felt dreed fill him. Looking down at Avery. "She fine." He said softly wanting to give her the good news first. "Haden's got her and their on their way back." He smiled as he felt her relief wash over her. "Baby." He said stopping her from getting to caught up it the good news. "She was bitten." He said, watching as she let his words sink in. He knew that Laney hadn't wanted this life and that now it was forced on her. It was going to be a long road for them all but Laney and Haden would be put to a test. She could kill him if she wasn't emotionally stable for this.
Laney woke as she felt her body shift, her eyes fluttered open looking around. She was still safety in Haden's arms, they were traveling still. And she wondered how far from camp Luke would have taken her. He seemed cocky that they'd never have found her. But Haden was a wolf, she'd been sleeping with a wolf. Her heart hurt as she thought over all the things they'd done, he was her everything and he lied to her. He slept with her knowing that she hated his kind. Though her mind thought over everything and she knew she wasn't innocent in all of this. She was very forceful in getting what she wanted, him. A sharp pain in her leg caused her to yelp out in anguish. She knew that she was changing into something she'd never wanted and she hated herself for having not been faster or smart enough. But the thought that was on her mind was what now. Avery.

Avery sighed and nodded. "I know you feel that way but it's not true. Some things happen for a reason, some things are unavoidable and would have happened no matter the choices we make." she said and relaxed a little at the feel of his hand on her. It was so helpful to have Jake there with her. She didn't know wha she would do without him. Avery looked up as Jake spoke. She sighed as he said her sister was fine. She ran a hand through her hair. It was such a relief to know her sister was alright and she ran a hand through her hair. Thank god Haden was there for her and she knew he was because Haden was so in love with Laney. Avery looked at him and frowned as he used a pet name on her. She shook her head. "What is it?" she asked him. Jake told her and she exhaled sharply. "So she's going to be..." when he told her yes she sat on the bed. Laney was the last person that would want this. She was already going to be pissed Avery didn't tell her and now she would be sensitive as well. "I don't know if she's going to be alright Jake."
Haden looked down at Laney as he felt her stir. He looked back out at the forest. Their pack was just out of sight to her still human eyes. He frowned knowing there was going to be a lot of adjusting for Laney and she would most likely hate him for a while. He frowned as she yelped. It was starting. Haden had watched many transformations and only those that wanted to change had the simplest changes but even those could hurt depending on the person. Laney hated what she was about to become so he knew this would be the longest night of her life as she fought of the change instead of just letting it happen. The change was a lot like childbirth in someways with the added bit that the persons emotions and feeling determined the length in which the change took. Haden had a feeling they would be up at least half the night. It never lasted longer than three days but he hoped with his help she could let go and change within the night. Haden stopped as he looked down at her and set her down gently still holding onto her. "Laney I know this is not something you wanted and I am sorry for that. This is going to hurt and the longer you fight it the longer the pain will last. If you can find any room in your heart to forgive the wolf that is emerging from within you then you will shift and the pain will end. But no matter what Laney you are never going to be alone again." he said and stroked her hair back. "The pack is your family." he said softly. He had told each of them similar things and had seem them all come into the pack lone wolves and then become something wonderful together.

Jake moved over and crouched down in front of her, "I know baby, she'll hate it at first." He said, before sighing. "But things changes they always do, so she'll find beauty in this and it will make all of our lives easier." He informed her. "But she's not going through this alone." He informed her. "Haden will never walk away from his mate, and we as a pack will always be there for." He smiled at her, "and you." He rubbed her thighs gently, "I know she'll love the fact you can except her as a wolf." He smiled before placing a kiss on top of her forehead. "It's just going to take time." He whispered out. "But she's back in camp." He said, he knew that the change could be harmful to those around. But if Avery could calm her sister down the change would happen faster, and it would make Avery happy that she could do something to help her sister.
Laney felt a burning sensation crawling up her leg, it felt like something was trying to rip out of her skin. A soft growl leaving her lips as she heard Haden's words. How could she ever forgive the wolf inside. She loathed herself, Avery would never forgive her for allowing this to happen. They'd swore to never leave each other, and here she was leaving her. It may not have been the way they meant but she was leaving humanity behind. "Fuck you." She growled out at Haden. She was so pissed at him, but the pain inside her body kept her from pushing him away. Just moving her head hurt her to much to bare. She needed this to end, and she wanted them to kill her. She'd hold on long enough to see Avery. She wouldn't let this be her. She couldn't not after loosing her father to a wolf. She couldn't allow Avery to be hurt like this either. "Avery." She sighed out seeing her sisters face looming closer to her. She heard Haden's warning before her eyes closed. "Kill me." She whispered out before losing consciousness.

Avery sighed and took Jake's hands. "I'm really glad you are here for me Jake. I couldn't do this without you." she said and hoped he was right that Laney would be happy. Avery stood and walked out with Jake seeing Haden flinch from something her sister must have said. She frowned knowing her sister could be really harsh on those she cared about most when she was upset. Avery came over to Laney and gently put her hand on her sister's harm despite Haden's warning. "This is Laney Haden." she said and he sighed. Avery pressed a kiss to her sister's forehead. Her sister asked to die and she shook her head as Laney passed out again. Avery stood and turned into Jake silent tears flooding down her cheeks. She hated to hear this from her sister who had always been her rock. Avery shook her head and looked back at her sister. "Where would be most comfortable for her?" she asked and Haden picked her back up and took her over to just outside the camp where she was surrounded by the woods.
"When she shifts her wolf form will need to orient itself. Bring me a blanket and some water. She is going to have a long night at best." Haden said and sat down besides Laney. He wished he could just talk to her and tell her he never intended for it to be this way for her. Haden had wanted to tell her. He had wanted to tell her since he first met her but he had also been selfish enough to want to keep her especially after they mated. He knew that part was also going to be hard for her. He sighed as he sat there wondering what he was going to do if Avery wanted to stay for the transformation. It would only make things worse if Avery got hurt because of Laney's wolf emerging. Haden put his head in his hands wondering what was going to happen and how he was going to hold up against all this. Wolves hardly ever fought with heir mates because of the bond and he was afraid of his first fight with Laney. Not only was he expecting name calling but he expected her to want to break it off. He thought of all the terrible possibilities and prayed everyone of them would never come to pass.

Jake watched as Avery interacted with Laney, he was on high alert not straying to far from her. The moment he spotted danger he's pull her away. But he frowned hearing Laney ask for death, he knew this wasn't the life he would have chosen for himself. But he would rather be a wolf and have Avery's love then ask to be dead. He knew that if Avery left him he'd want to die. But he didn't like the way her words had hurt Avery. "Love." He rubbed her back, knowing that seeing her sister like this could possibly change his mind. He had never thought that Laney would want to die.
Laney felt her body being lifted but she didn't pay any attention, letting herself doze here and there. She knew that even willing herself to sleep she'd be pulled from it shortly because of the pain. A low popping noise met her ears and her eyes sprung open. Looking around she felt funny, everything seemed hazy. Like her eyes couldn't focus. Another sound she'd never heard emitted into the air this one sounded like a crunching noise. She could feel discomfort all over her body. Blinking rapidly she noticed Haden standing in front of her his arms out stretched, almost like he was trying to offer her an embrace, timidly. Though she noticed Jake not to far away, Avery tucked under his arm, though his body was in between them. A soft whine left her lips as she felt her legs give out, she crumpled to the ground, everything was different and she couldn't place why.

Avery went to get some water and a blanket with Jake. For once Avery was silent. She walked about gathering the things she needed then suddenly would stop and just look around until her eyes saw Jake watching her and she would pull her hair to one shoulder then keep going until she did it again. She started to walk back towards Laney and she had just gotten there and placed her hand on Laney's head when Jake pulled her to him and shielded her from her own sister as she changed before her eyes. Avery stood there amazed that her sister was actually a wolf. She looked up at Jake. "It's alright she's fine, she's just tired." she said and squirmed from his arms and watched as Haden moved slowly to Laney.
Haden watched his mate shift into her wolf form. She was stunning and took his breath away. He kneeled where he was tentatively opening his arms. He wanted her to come to him and he knew she was going to be shaky and would need to learn how to walk and run in the body she was in. It wouldn't take long but none the less. Haden moved over to her and rubbed her head gently knowing where the best spot was to sooth. "Laney you did it love you shifted. Everything is going to seem foggy until it gets really sharp. The woods will help with that though it has the sounds and the feel that your form needs to know." he said and looked down at her. "Take your time." he said and looked up as Avery stepped closer his eyes warning and sharp.
Avery ignored him and crouched in front of her sister. "Hey beautiful. How you feeling? Is the pain starting to clear up?" she asked softly. Everyone was whispering being conscious of her enhanced hearing and her having to get use to that. Avery was worried about her sister really. "I know you are scared but it's okay we're here for you and I still love you Laney. I know we have a lot to talk about but that doesn't change anything." she said. "Not really." Avery then put her hand gently on her sister's paw.

Jake watched Avery closely his mind prodding hoping she knew how much he loved her. He would watched her gather herself like she was trying to keep herself together. Licking over his lip he watched her as they approached Laney. He could tell she was exhausted and everything hurt. Avery reached out to touch Laney, when Jake felt the air being sucked from his lungs. Before moving back behind her, he watched as Laney's eyes searched around, he remembered the feeling of being hazy. Smiling he wrapped his arms around Avery. "You're prefect you know that." He whispered in her ear, before placing a kiss onto her temple.
Laney feeling a weight she'd never felt she looked around before noticing Avery. She didn't want her sister anywhere near her, but just knowing her sister still excepted her in this form she felt tears springing to her eyes. She hoped things could continued being like they had, but Haden had lied to her and was a wolf. She wondered if Avery knew, or Jake. Her thoughts were every where. She didn't bother moving, just letting her eyes shift between people. Finally landing on Haden. She really wanted to rip into him, but knew he wouldn't understand her. But she also didn't have the strength and just wanted to sleep, but everything seemed new and drew her interest.

Avery stood so Haden could work with Laney. She relaxed back into Jake and closed her eyes. She was really worried about how her sister would get through this. Avery turned into Jake and sighed as she closed her eyes letting him comfort her. She knew he could tell but none the less she wasn't about to go and act like the mess she was feeling inside. She wanted someone watching Laney 24/7 for the next few days at least. Laney might be a wolf now but she was still upset Avery could tell. If her sister had been okay even in wolf form she would have tried to reassure and comfort Avery in some way. Avery wanted to lay down now. Her stomach rumbled and she frowned. "I'll go make lunch." she said softly. The rest of the pack was staying clear knowing that this was a close family and mate type of interaction. They would all be introduced in their wolf forms soon enough. Avery walked into camp just as Penny was dishing out food. "Avery." she said and walked over to her and hugged her. "How's it going?" she asked and Avery frowned and Penny nodded then kissed her cheek. "It will get better." she said and handed her a bowl putting her hand on Jake's shoulder then pressing another bowl into his hands. "Eat both of you." she said and then took another bowl out of sight as Avery sat down staring down into the bowl.
Haden smiled softly feeling her emotions even stronger than before. He was fascinated by her and he wished that she wasn't so angry with him. He sighed. "Laney there is a lot you should know and you will but first we need to get your strength up. "Are you feeling like eating?" he asked her and set the water in front of her. Drinking would be a weird experience for her and so would eating in this form but it was going to be this way until she was strong enough to attempt to phase back. He wanted to just get it all out now to confess and say he was sorry and cry but she deserved to be able to yell back at him to have an actually conversation instead of him just saying his piece and her still confused and helpless have to listen and not able to communicate back, well that she knew how to control yet. She would need to be taught gently. She would start to feel his alpha abilities now and he knew she wouldn't like them until she stepped up as his mate and picked up the alpha female she was and the control over the pack because of their mating. That would come later though. There was so much and he had to start with the basics for both their good.

Jake felt Avery cuddle into him, his eyes were focused on the wolf before him. He knew that newly turned wolves were irrational since they didn't have a pack they're thoughts were unguarded and rash. He didn't care if it was Laney or not, if she felt like she could protect Avery better then she wouldn't be afraid to attack him. He'd protect Avery with his life, but so would she. Slowly he started to feel calm as her attention shifted to Haden. Listening to Avery he quickly followed after like a lost puppy. It was hard for him to be parted with her at a time like this. It made him wondered if she was second guessing where they stood or if she wanted this life with him. "Love." He asked after Penny left them with their food. "Do you want to talk?" He asked her, before rubbing her back softly. He knew he wouldn't push her to eat, though he would like for her too.
Laney shifted her attention from Avery's retreating figure to the bowl being placed in front of her. Lifting her head it felt like lead, moving a paw forward she moved the other until her head was over the bowl. The movement in doing so was weird to her. She thought it would feel like she was bear crawling. But it didn't it felt natural, not painful and uncomfortable. Lowering her head she thought about how dogs had drank and gave it a try. Licking at the water she was surprised when her tongue retracted into her mouth and she felt the cool liquid in her mouth. It was a start but everything was moving to slow for her liking. Hearing his question about being hungry, she nodded her head. In the process knocking the water bowl over the liquid spilling out and covering the ground along with bits of her fur. That in turn had her looking over the sandy colored fur that coated her legs. Lifting her head higher she looked down trying to take in as much as she could, noticing patches of black lingering her and there, it peeked her interest. Tilting her head to the side she looked up at Haden, wondering just what he was seeing. She wanted to know what she looked like. Her thoughts of her looks left her mind as the smell of food entered her nostrils. Snapping her head in the direction of the smell, something else mixed with the smell. It was then that she realized it was her friend's scent. She'd been used to the smells around her when she'd turned she hadn't taken in their smells. But now that she focused on it she could tell the differences in scents now that Avery and Jake left. She locked eyes with Haden as he approached her timidly, the bowl of food in his hands. Setting it down in front of her she looked at it, before her face buried into the bowl. She wasn't sure if she was doing it right but she could feel the food on her tongue. "She's beautiful." Penny whispered to Haden, before she turned and walked back to the camp. She knew they were going to have a hard time since this was forced on Laney. Laney lifted her head at the sound of them talking about her. She was more curious now about how she looked and how she could be beautiful in this form. But then she knew that Penny was a wolf too. And she knew that she'd excepted this life, now it was Laney's turn. But could she really.

Avery looked up as Jake started to rub her back and called her. She frowned. Avery sighed and rested her head on his shoulder. "I'm just worried about her is all. She never wanted this and I don't know how she will react when she feels like we have all betrayed her and she is stuck like this." she shook her head. "I know that she shouldn't be worried about it but that doesn't mean she won't be." Avery said and sighed. "I would be able to live life without her Jake. She's my sister, my only family left." she said and looked up at him hoping he understood that. "And I just feel sick over what she said and I know I should eat and my body wants to but I just don't feel hungry, I feel sick." she said again and sighed and then took the spoon and put a bite in her mouth trying to eat not only because she needed to but because she knew her worry worried Jake. Avery chuckled. "Sometimes I feel like I am being punished for something because every time we get to a good place and want to move forward in our relationship something happens and then I just can't bring myself to bring you into all this craziness." she said and smiled softly. "I know you would rather just mate with me but I want it to be special." she said and shook her head. "More special than it already will be." she clarified.
Haden smiled softly and sent Penny a mental message and took the bowl and set it aside. When Penny came he took the bowl and set it in front of Laney. She was doing really well for what was going on. He back up as Penny talked to him and he smiled. "She always is." he said softly to her knowing that no matter what state his mate was in he loved her and found her beautiful. Haden smiled as she finished her food and he set the new water before her. She was still clumsy and he found it endearing but hoped she would be alright. Haden sat there for a while until she seemed content. "Are you feeling tired?" he asked her. If she was up for it they could try walking and maybe they could go and show her her new form. Haden had been so surprised by how quickly she had shifted. Perhaps it was how much acceptance she had received from him and her sister that had been the contributing factor. He hoped that was the case. He was so excited to share this life with her but also really worried about how she was going to react to it all.

Jake smiled before placing a kiss to the top of her head. "It will be special no matter if it's in mud." He chuckled, not liking the idea. "But you can't keep finding faults in things that go on around us." He shook his head. "Nothing will ever be prefect, we can only ever make it okay or good." He rubbed her back, "I know that Laney will be mad, but she seemed more relaxed when you weren't scared of her." He looked at her, "so she can be mad, pissed even but all that maters is that you're there for her when she needs you, and now it that time." He brushed his hand across her cheek. "I will wait as long as I have to, so don't ever feel like you want to rush this, because I feel connected to you already and that's fine for now." He smiled, "but I agreed for the craziness as you call it, so I'm already a part of it weather we're mated or not." He smiled pressing a kiss to her lips. "You don't have to be strong for everyone, they can pick themselves up."
Laney finished eating before she laid her head down, she didn't feel like doing anything but sleeping right now. But she wasn't comfortable in this body, she wonder if she could change back into a human. Listening to Haden she turned her head away from him, she felt betrayed by him. He'd lied about everything, she wondered how they could ever fix this. Looking back at him she slowly stood, her legs wobbly. Though after a few seconds she stood tall and peered down at him. Turning she moved slowly walking away from the camp and the pack. She didn't care if it was dangerous or not she just wanted some space. It would also help aid her in learning how to move in this body. She needed to learn how to move in this body, hopefully it will help her learn how to transform back so that she could sleep. She through a look over her shoulder noticing Haden's worried expression, she felt her heart lurch feeling his pain. But turning back away from him she moved through the trees, her paws taking her towards the lake.

Avery sighed and nodded. "I know you are but my emotions are so out of wack right now I don't want to send you on this emotional roller coster because we decide to mate." she shook her head. "Regardless I am grateful you are here with me and when the right time comes we will know it." she said and bit her bottom lip lightly hoping she would know when the right time was. Avery wanted it to be special for them to have their own day that for once was not connected to someone else trauma. A day she can look back on and go that is the special day just for them and no one else, the day they mated. It was silly perhaps but it was what she wanted. Avery sighed and then continued to eat feeling better for doing so some of that sick feeling starting to dissipate. "Later I would like to go check on Laney them maybe we can go to bed early. Or naps or something I am tired." she said softly.
Haden was glad she finished her food. It meant her appetite was picking up. It would make him feel better to see her eat at every meal. He sat there and watched her glare at him. He sighed knowing she was pissed off but hoping she wasn't going to do anything to rash. She stood and he watched her get up and walk over to him. Haden frowned as she started to walk away. He felt the panic rising but knew she needed space. After everything that happened though he wanted to keep her in sight but she wasn't a human he could spy on through the woods without her knowing now. She was a wolf who was determined to punish him and be independent. Haden ran a hand through his hair as she looked back a brief second and he could feel her feeling him but then she left and he sat where he was wondering how long until he could send Avery or someone after her. He didn't want her to be alone right now.

Jake smiled at Avery, "well why don't we just plan a day just the two of us." He offered. "or a few days." He said thinking outside of everybody else. "We don't have to mate, we can just let things happen." He shrugged. "But it gets us away from responsibility to the pack. And we can let Laney and Haden figure things out, but then we can take some time." He knew that the last time they took off for a couple of hours she had been attacked. He didn't really want to leave the comfort of the pack so he figured they could find things to do together inside of camp. "We can stay in and just cuddle, maybe go picnicking." He offered, before placing a kiss on her temple. He sat there before hearing that she'd like to go see Laney. "We can go now if you'd like." He stood taking her bowl from her, since she'd finished. Offering her his hand, he gripped hers gently before pulling her up into his arms. Placing a gentle kiss to her lips, "thank you for eating."
Laney stalked off towards the river, the longer she was on her feet the easier it became to walk. Once her front paws hit the cool water she stopped, before tilting her head down into the cold water. Freezing she blinked at the water staring back at her was a wolf. She didn't know what she was feeling but the words that Penny said earlier she finally understood. She was beautiful, she could understand why people thought there was good in wolves. She didn't find any thing different inside her, just the outer shell. Cocking her head to the side she stood up before closing her eyes, she hated Luke for this. But that was all over with now, he was dead. She had Haden and Avery still, things would be different yes. And he'd lied, but she couldn't get past any of that if she didn't know the facts. She understood why he'd kept that from her, but it didn't make it any easier. Sighing she turned to head back to him but stopped when he stood before her. Walking to him she placed her head against his chest, she just wanted to phase back so she could hold him, not matter how man she was.

Avery smiled. "That sounds wonderful. I would love to get out with you and just spend some time with you just the two of us." she said and smiled gently. "It would be nice to just let things happen." she said and sighed as she leaned into him feeling his lips on her forehead. When Jake offered to go see her sister now she nodded. "Yeah just want to be sure she is alright before bed." Avery said and smiled as he put their bowls in the clean up bin. She stood and took another bowl and some water for Haden. The poor thing probably was sick with worry but he needed to eat too. Avery smiled. "Of course. I know it's important for you that I so and even though I don't feel like it I know my body needs it." she said. They headed over to where they left Laney and Haden and saw them further in the trees by the water. She smiled softly seeing Haden gently stroke her fur as her sister leaned against Haden. She walked over to them and smiled. "Hey you two." she said and placed the bowl and water into Haden's hands. "Hey sis." she said and smiled at her sister. "Get a good look at yourself? You're pretty amazing yeah?" she asked gently hoping her sister would at least admit she was just as beautiful in this form as she was in her human form. "Anyways. Jake and I just came to say good night and to make sure you are alright." she said and pet her sister's head. "If you need a place to go Laney our doors are open." she said softly hoping that if her sister felt like running she would run to her first. Once they had shared a moment Avery took Jake's hand and walked back to their home. She hoped Laney and Haden would be alright. "Do you think mating is strong enough to concur hate?" she asked him gently. "Is love enough?" she asked.
Haden ate as Laney and Avery visited. He was grateful to Avery. She made a huge difference in their pack and they would have to be more careful with her. She was in fact now the only human left in their pack and that could make her a target to other wolves if they found out. Haden set his bowl down by the water as Avery and Jake left. He looked at Laney and sighed. "Are you feeling strong?" he asked not wanting to give her hope that she could shift back today if she wasn't feeling strong enough for it. Haden was really worried about what she had said before her shift but he hoped that they could work through that together even if she was livid with him for not telling her sooner. He sighed. "I would really like to talk with you but I have to know you are feeling well enough." he said. As alpha he could help her in many things she had no idea about and he would too as long as she decided to follow him as Alpha. It was mostly an unconscious choice. Something a wolf would do because of their knowledge and belief in that wolf, it didn't mean they would necessarily stay but that while near the alpha and their territory they would follow the alpha's orders as long as it was reasonable of course. An alpha that hurt or didn't have respect would loose it's followers and pack. That was why it was so important to take care of his pack.

Jake was happy she agreed to taking time off, granted he'd already had days off because of an injury. But now with Laney there was more wolves and it would make things easier on the rest not having to tiptoe around anymore. He also knew that Haden knew that he and Avery needed to mate soon. The chances of turning her once they were mated were higher. She was a risk to them like she was. But he didn't care he loved her all the more. But he knew that if he put the time and effort into it it would happen faster. Though he'd never force anything on her. He still couldn't help wanting it to happen now instead of later. "They say love is the only thing that concurs hate." He informed her. "So if Laney truly loves Haden she will find it in her heart to get though this." He told her rubbing her back. "Lets get you back so you can get some sleep." He told her, he'd had a long day. With their activities and Laney being turned it had been stressful for her. "I'll give you a rub." He smiled before wrapping his arm around her shoulder, he knew that it could be taken wrong. But he liked it when Avery was aware of sex. She made him hard as a rock, but he enjoyed every moment with her.
Laney watched as her sister feed Haden, she'd been so busy in her own pity party she hadn't realized he wasn't eating. In fact he was to busy taking care of her. She huffed out when her sister commented about how beautiful she was. She'd already established that. Watching as her sister left she wondered if she would even need a place to go. Or if she'd just sleep here on the ground. She didn't like that it was uncomfortable to even lay down she didn't want to think about sleeping. Laney listened to Haden pour his feeling into his words, she knew he regretted not telling her. The thing that pissed her off the most was the mating, her body could feel the pull to him. She could feel his pain and she knew he could feel her longing. She wanted to be a human more than ever, she closed her eyes and concentrated as she thought about being in her human form. A sharp pain in her back had her opening her eyes, and she stumbled. But when she went to stable herself she noticed her skin instead of fur. She phased back not even aware of how she managed it. Lifting her eyes to Haden she watched him gauging her reaction. She knew that he was desperately wanting to talk about all of this. All she wanted to do right now was sleep. Raising her hands she stopped any thoughts of talking he was planning. "I just want to sleep." She told him feel a lot weaker now. "I want to sleep in a bed." She felt her knees give out as she sank to the soft ground. Her eyes lifting lightly to take in her surroundings. She noticed the rock they had their picnic on, she felt her heart lurch. He was an amazing man, no matter what beast he turned into .
